You can have another sort of origin story for the Appmon species and still have the Appmon multimedia imo. Just like anything else in digimon can have the Null lore (Bandai's) origins and their own specific media material coming up with another origin. Just like Digimon's multimedia entries have multiple origins -- the reason i love digimon more than many other moncolle franchises is because it has just basic rules and the rest you can go wild with your imagination (like, the recent Digimon Paradox manga having the digimon being "war machines created by the humankind", for example)

Basically what you said, yeah. 💧 Except what i meant here & xtitter/bsky was more outside Appmon multimedia lore and more like a brand new lore to integrate both in the same setting. Possibly still has reminiscent of the old Appmon lore but who knows...? Maybe the "new" Null lore for Appmon...?

I admit i'm intrigued by Appmon coming back, they really really wanted to bring him back, at least I remember Habu wanted to find a way to put them in future games before he left Digimon game producer role... I really think this may be part of what Bandai digimon department had been trying to do and finally found a solution?

(In the end Appmon fans are just winning and this is good so it's not a complaint...!! I'm glad to see the Appmon being more present in the franchise right now it's a miracle... It makes the haters lose their argument that Appmon isn't Digimon or that Appmon is just a random spinoff...!?)

btw i'm suspecting about a thing re: Maquinamon like remember when Appmon anime said "the Digimon are the antecessors of the Appmon" at the end of the Agumon episode? and Maquinamon really has the Appmon's cord… look at it.

now that we know Appmon is finally getting added to Digica… what if they made Maquinamon to be, in the whole Digi-App lore… … the link between the two critters? like, the one digimon who evolved into a brand new species of digital monsters called "Appmon"

there's not much info about it, and it barely appeared in Liberator, so i'm suspecting more info may come in April with the World Convergence Booster release.
