I've been thinking about my KN8/Kirby crossover, Starry Dreams, again. (My ass still hasn't done the extended versions for BotW/TotK or Blue Exorcist yet. 🥲) Thus why not share more stuff on the fluffier side of things. (We all need it due to the latest chapter.)

Kirby and Kafka's spiritual bond soon shows it affects both in more ways than one. You know how I said that our himbo could use Copy Abilities as a result? Well, any power boosts between the two are shared.

You guessed it then kudos! Kirby gains a new form, Kaiju Kirby, based on Kafka's own Kaiju nature. The appearance is very similar to how Copy Abilities are portrayed in Super Smash Bros which basically sums up to a 'cosplay' of the character.

I do plan on drawing this. Although it's 50/50 on whether Kirby looks like he's wearing a full body mask like the Corrin design or a removable mask that animates yet he can take it off. He is gonna be greenish obsidian in color and have back spikes because I loved it when Copy Abilities changed the pink puff's colors too. (Sucks they removed it over the years.)

You can bet your ass that Kafka fawned over Kirby's new form partly from his kaiju instincts. It's further proof this is his whelp. Kafka's instincts does lead him to do stuff such as proudly presenting the star warrior to his friends. Although now the Defense Force really thinks Kirby is No.8's biological offspring, lol.

Kafka attempts to piece together the 'lore' after each adventure in Dreamland. Considering he cleans up Kaiju corpses for a living, he would try to understand what him and Kirby went against throughout the few years. Although Kafka still wonders who has been leaving tidbits on collectible figures or random notes(based on in-game Pause Screen Descriptions for Bosses).

Our himbo finally finds a new place to call home, an old farmhouse out in the countryside. There are a few reasons for the decision. Kirby has more room to roam about or enjoy a nice nap, the Robobot doesn't have to be holed up in Reno's basement anymore, and Landia has a place to rest. (You can say Kafka's hunch about the four headed dragon wanting to live with them became true.)

Kirby and No.8 grew quite popular amongst the public. The Defense Force did try to put a handle on it as not all of them were keen about the vigilantes. Futaba and Ami threw a massive wrench in their plan when the former began carrying plushies based on the two. Something which led to tons of merchandise that expanded in variety often should No.8 call upon an ally(usually Landia) or Kirby summons the Robobot.

The Third Division gets back together after the base is fully repaired. (Rookies take temporary apprenticeships with the other departments as to fit canon.) Kafka's apprenticeship is put on hold once his secret becomes known to the whole place.

The rest of the Defense Force are unaware as a case is being built for Hibino. Soshiro and Mina want to make sure their friend alongside his companions stay safe from the more dangerous members in the force.(Obvious corrupt higher ups/mad scientists.) This includes looking over the rules and setting up procedures based on available loopholes.

Kirby became a sort of unofficial mascot for the Third Division especially with the female officers. It isn't uncommon to find the pink puffball napping next to Bakko(Mina has taken pictures), doodling as Okonogi works on the Robobot Armor, or playing some games with off-duty Rookies. Kafka is happy that everyone is getting along.

Now I have been thinking about an alternate version of Starry Dreams. This one has a childhood sweethearts type pairing between Kafka, Soshiro, and Mina with Skully showing up around canon. Plus my ass couldn't resist the look on the latter two's faces when their husband comes home with Kirby in hand alongside a towed spaceship.

Kafka would already have the barn house since he figures both of his partners prefer some peace and quiet. They do learn that our himbo can transport others much earlier as Soshiro ends up being an impromptu ally for Kirby 64. How it happens is the two decided to have a lazy day and slept in while Mina was making breakfast. She unfortunately had to watch Soshiro vanish alongside Kafka to Dreamland.

You can bet both our himbo's partners broke some Defense Force rules to help him in these adventures. This includes stealing and modifying their combat suits. It only grows when Kafka's powers alongside Skully come into the picture.

Nothing like an unlikely family to turn the world of Kaiju No.8 upside down.

KoTS four heroes lore explained stupidly

so uh there were a giant asf creature just chillin there destroyinv som planets then the community were just like "kill them" or something so they send some ppls but they all died.

so yeah they send four random heroes (aka galacta/aeon, ferrum, tenma, and doctor) to kill it.

they suceed and the community is like "theyre cool but theyre also scary so uhh" so later the ancients did a little trolling at them.

aeon is angy so he trolled the ancients back and the literal leader of ancients (darth vader kuroyami) got reallllyyyy mad at aeon so he fought him but he ended up died to aeon.

but then kuroyami turned into mizuchi miyadeguchi from touhou chireikiden vengeful spirit and posessed ferrum (doctor got clobbered).

aeon fought him but ferr and kuro both dies so yeah the ancients got more mad and then uh-

so aeon go junko mode and just go "aaaaa why the flip did you kill all my friends.

he ended getting sealed like byakuren. (tenma sublimed).

Maybe I’m reading too much into this, but does the red lines on Adult Kirby’s armor have any significance? Or is it just a design choice?

The design for the armor was based on the Legendary Air Ride Machine Dragoon and the Star Ally Sparkler, the former of which has those red markings! From a lore perspective, however, the Dragoon's design is modelled after an individual known as Twinkle Popopo, the Dreamer. ~

She was the first ever Dream Matterborn, birthed by the universe itself when there was but one besides her. With her dream magic she expanded the universe, shaping its many currents and keeping them stable to allow for more life to form. She passed away during times most ancient, leaving the universe vulnerable without her influence, a successor to her position yet unfound.

Kirby's armor comes from their own dream matter and sports her likeness solely because they're the one who comes closest to being like she was, bearing the potential to take on her position in the world, notably by accident. Kirby is not at all interested in actually going through with the final motions to obtain the position of The Dreamer. They'd rather live their life in peace without ginormous responsibilities like that.

My brain wants more and more to talk and rant about that one Kirby OC I haven’t finished yet that ‘looks the least like a Kirby OC’. This is because, although she looks the least like one, she is absolutely my favorite out of my Kirby OCs.

I’m still trying to figure out how to draw the hands and legs/feet without it looking…off. After I finally do that, THEN I’ll add the coloring.

I am absolutely up to ranting about this OC I gave the ‘My favorite gets to suffer the most’ treatment if anybody is FINE with it. Might not know how to start the ranting if I do, though.

Lore dump time

My Dark Matter headcanons are all over the place, so I suppose this is my attempt to organize them.

The Dark Matter we see at the end of K64 (02) is the leader of all the Dark Matters we see in the Kirby series, the Core. She is actually named Dark Crown, and in a fitting twist is imprisoned within the Master Crown. The crown’s shattering at the end of Magolor Epilogue may have released Dark Crown, or she could still remain trapped within the crown’s shards.

Dark Crown is an incarnation of Void, created using the emotions of despair and tragedy. She suffers from severe depression, and wants to destroy everyone who hates her so that she can be happy again.

Unfortunately, Dark Crown believes everyone hates her. She will only achieve true happiness once every living being, other than her and her children, is destroyed.

Dark Crown has hundreds of children, but only the 5 most powerful ones are important in terms of lore.

00, AKA Miracle Matter. She is dead as a doornail, but she is and will always be Dark Crown’s favorite. 00 represents the emotion of disappointment.

01 is the essence of regret. She has made many difficult decisions, all of which have had disastrous outcomes. Dark Crown is hardly ever mad at her, though.

02 used to embody grief, but a Dream Matter inclusion has changed her to the embodiment of hope. Despite being Dark Crown’s current favorite, 02 wishes more than anything to disconnect from her creator.

03 represents heartbreak, and she just can’t seem to catch a break! She constantly tries to earn Dark Crown’s favor, but her efforts always lead to her creator’s rage.

A long time ago, 04 attempted to rebel against Dark Crown and kill her. Clearly this attempt failed, because now 04 is trapped in a cycle of eternal torture as punishment for her betrayal.

That’s everything for now. I’m sure more lore will explode in my face within the next week or so, but until then, this is it, I guess.

Last reblog has me thinkin a lot about Kirby remakes. You have Kirby’s Adventure and NiD where the artstyle is so glaringly different between the two it’s like you have to choose a side. And from what I’ve seen the fandom tends to (intelligently) show favoritism towards the original NES look. 

Then you have KSS and KSSU, the base of the last post, and I find the differences between the games to be slight yet substantial. Maybe I’m just blind and all 16-bit games look the same to me, but I couldn’t even tell the sprites were different the first time I played KSSU, but after actually playing KSS I could really feel the difference. The original has a much harsher and more gritty style, that I think a lot of people feel hasn’t aged well, but atleast I still think has tons of merit. For certain characters who need that darker or more expressive touch like Meta Knight and Marx I find the old sprites more flattering in a way. And I think the garishness of the pre-rendered backgrounds SHINES in Meta Knight’s Revenge because that sort of gross clash against the usual style is heightened for a mode about Meta invading with his war ship and foreign ideals.

But that actually brought me to our latest remake in RTDL DX. And like there is nothing really WRONG with the new style, it just makes me miss the wii game. The wii game looked basic in a really charming and balanced way that I think is lost in how bright and cell shaded the new game is. The worst sin being scenes that are meant to have more dynamic lighting - like inside Magolor’s ship or in the final cutscene as Another Dimension crumbles - where the more cartoony style just doesn’t gel. But like honestly, if it weren’t for very on the nose divisive stuff like Dedede’s redesign and the character outlines, it would be very hard to make a case for the merit of the original. Just cause to the average person in every sense of the world the new game looks like an upgrade graphically - Shinier, higher detail models, fancy new animations, and the ritz.

I hope over time people do come to really appreciate the wii version’s merit in it’s simplicity, mainly cause it’s another big comfort Kirby game so any change to it made in the remake rubs me the wrong way lmao. But also I do think it has some outside of my uber personal opinions.

Hello Chaos! I’m curious, why do you aways happen to be smiling?

He's just a smilling little guy! Theres no secret there, he just likes to smile and mostly has a superiority complex which makes him feel almost unvulnerable (he is very VERY strong tho,but he doesnt really fight often) in most situations. He just smiles cause its his personnality and character trait to do so!

Tho like mentionned, he doesnt always smile, like if he's thrown off by something his smile might dissapear a second or two.

I normally don't agree with the philosophy of a life for a life, but I think I this case it's appropriate. That man was trying to kill a mother. You also helped keep a child from being an orphan Kirby. And from personal experience I can tell you that that will mean the world to them when they're older."

I was looking more into the magazine mentioned in this post and I found something interesting.

One of the issues of the magazine has a section listing the various enemies that resemble major characters from throughout the series, such as Batamon and Galacta Knight. There's not really any new information in the Kirby and Meta Knight parts, just a list of enemies and a short description for each. But then...

Yes, the question of whether Ado and Adeleine are the same person rears its ugly head once again. The main text of the section still isn't anything noteworthy, just saying that both characters share a lot of similarities. The real juicy bit comes from the caption under the picture.

This says, "Could it be that [Adeleine] becomes Ado when she's controlled by Dark Matter!?"

Now, this is not the most logical theory. It is not the most sensible theory. It is almost certainly not what the original intent of the character was and it's coming from a source of extremely dubious authority. But man, I think this is hands-down the funniest answer to the Ado/Adeleine debacle there is.

So yeah, I'm ride-or-die for this. Ado is Adeleine's evil alter ego that comes out when she's possessed. You can tell she's messed-up because she dropped the last syllable of her name! Dear god! I'm expecting to see fanart, fanfics, fan-whatevers allll about this highly important piece of Kirby lore soon.

(Bonus thing: A different page of this same section expresses uncertainty as to whether Zero-Two is connected to Dark Matter. This is once again extremely funny and part of me wants it to be true. Imagine Kirby and the gang rolling up to Dark Star like "We'll fight Dark Matter as many times as it takes!" and Zero-Two's just like "woah woah woah do not lump me in with those guys")
