after my Tim Edits Reality post, I haven't been able to stop thinking about Frankie (the dog) and though he remembers just editing her into his life, what he edits is more like the space-time continuum, so his parents remember getting her for him. And I haven't been able to stop thinking of like

Grayson steps inside, leaning against the doorframe for support, her hand clutching her side. She’s flushed, her eyes glassy—something’s definitely wrong. This isn’t the Grayson you’re used to, the strong, composed sheriff.

“Hey, love,” you call softly, immediately going to her side. “You okay? You don’t look alright.”

Grayson manages a tired smile, but it doesn’t reach her eyes. “I’m fine, doll. Just a little worn out, nothing to worry about.”

You can see right through her, and your worry grows. “You’re not fine. Come on, let’s get you to the couch.”

She sighs, letting you guide her over. She’s clearly exhausted, and you can tell it’s more than just a little fatigue. Once she’s sitting, she leans back, her hand rubbing her forehead. “It’s been a long day... too many late shifts,” she mutters.

You sit next to her, gently placing your hand on her shoulder. “You’ve been pushing yourself too hard. You need to take a break, Grayson. You can’t do it all, you know?”

Grayson leans into your touch, her eyes closing briefly as she relaxes. “I hate feeling like I’m falling behind... Like I’m not doing enough."

You smile softly at her, brushing a strand of hair away from her face. “You’re doing plenty. You’re human, Grayson. You can’t do it all by yourself.”

Her lips curl into a faint smile at your words, though the exhaustion is still there. “Not used to needing help. Used to being the one everyone relies on.”

“Well, you’re not the only one who can take care of things around here, love.” You stand up and quickly get her a glass of water and a blanket. When you return, you drape it over her, your hand gently brushing her cheek. “Now, rest. I’ve got it from here.”
