Running the Numbers
Kindergarten At a fifth-grade math level, The human calculator. I was running the numbers.
Second grade. Able to skip first. "Two plus seven plus nine plus one million seven hundred eighty-five thousand three hundred and two" While playing popcorn math I was running the numbers.
Third grade. You start getting more homework. "Can you solve this for me?" they say, and I did it every time. I was running the numbers.
Fourth grade. Seen as more of a spectacle by now. "Her brain just works differently," the teacher announced to my classmates. They'd give me a problem and I was running the numbers.
Fifth grade. It started to change. They said I was good, but not enough according to my standards. I couldn't take it- I wanted to be more so I was running the numbers.
Sixth grade. Homeschool will do you in. Seventh, eighth, maybe ninth-grade math. I was freaking out but still, I was running the numbers.
Seventh grade. Suicide, shitty teachers, Covid. Virtual Pre-Algebra was such a wonderful sight. I was still running the numbers.
Eighth Grade, Public school, Algebra 1. Honors classes, GPA. I was doing others' Aleks, so I was running the numbers,
Ninth grade. "It’s so hard!" Friends would say, but I’d disagree and push myself to tears. Trying to get further ahead, I constantly was running the numbers.
Summer before tenth grade. Doing 5 lessons a day, Learning Algebra 2 to get ahead, to move on to PreCalculus. I was running the numbers.
Planning to go to the Governor’s School, maybe arts, maybe science. Planning to be Valedictorian. Planning for college, planning to be a doctor.
Constantly planning, wanting to be more, needing more. I burn out, want to never move from the couch, to quit. I get on a roll, running the numbers. Oh, I long for one minute to be a normal person, not need more, to not be running the numbers.

USAmericans and Cheap University
Hello fellow Americans, I'm here to talk about college. In 2024 I graduated at the age of 33 years old with my BS in Business Admin from Western Governors University. I had not heard about this school until my boss (who has a masters from there) told me about it.
In total (thanks to Pell Grants, which the majority of you are probably eligible for) I paid 2400 dollars for my degree, spread out during my time there.
WGU is a fully online, at-your-own-pace, accredited university with four schools:
Business
Technology
Education
Health and Nursing
Each of these has degrees under it, like accounting, education administration, data analytics and more.
I transferred in with an associates degree, of which they took 30 credits, and completed my BS in 1 year and 2 months while working full time. If you were unemployed or part time, you could finish much sooner than me. And since it's a flat rate per 6 month term, you can take as many courses as you can finish in that period of time. Some people who are unemployed finish in 6 months, with no transfer credits at all.
I mention this as an option because if I had known about this when I was still trapped in retail, I would have done it in a heart beat and gotten out WAY sooner.
If you think you want to go to school, or go back to school, to get a certificate, bachelors or masters, please consider them. There are alternatives to crippling education debt!

Oh my god you guys! That was so hard! I just dropped my youngest, my baby, off for a month at Governor’s School.
She was so nervous she made herself sick as a dog this morning. Then she saw how nervous all the other kids were too and she felt a little better.
There were tears though. That was me. It was me.
Headed home now. Three hour drive ahead of us. Without my girl!!! 😭😭😭

the FBI was already investigating the Winder, GA school shooter a year ago and did nothing. they get onto Cop City & Pro-Palestine protestors for less than that, calling them "domestic terrorists." and you're only called that if you protest against the system.

THIS IS GONNA SOUND SO MEAN BUT WHY DO U LIKE RYO AOKI/MASATO
masato hot
#snap chats#just like me... heh ... my ac has been broken all month im melting for the love of god send an iceberg im begging you#him turning into aoki is incredibly funny to me like jesus christ. what a lack of self love does to a mfer#but anyway 1.) please do not yell i scare easy 2.) meaner has been said its ok 3.) very reasonable to ask why anyone would like aoki#and 4.) to be Cereal he's inch resting to me. also his speech to ichi at the end hit a lil close and i was reminded of high school#5.) i really like his eng dub voice sorry im american. BUT HIS JP VOICE IS EXCELLENT TOO IM JUST SAYIN#rgg doesnt give an Exact on his disability so looking into lung diseases/conditions has also been interesting#esp post-lung surgery cases and care too so i thank rgg for the opportunity to do some reading#i also do In General just like cases of someone wanting to be loved and changing drastically to get it only to still be unhappy#granted. he sucks so LMAO can only have so much sympathy but it's still interesting to watch#the arakawas is also a part of why i like him because they all work as a big machine. if that makes sense#like the arakawas in general are such an interesting bundle i love all of them a lot because of what they mean to each other#in the case of aoki none of them mean anything to him at most resenting arakawa and despising ichi#meanwhile sawashiro's just. There LOL im so sorry king thats the truth of it all ... i love you tho ...#oh but back to aoki. i also really like politican characters- or at least characters who can have a 'public' persona#its fun thinking about what they have to do mentally to present themselves in public versus when they can 'be themselves'#like aoki's 'intro' scene where he's pleasant to his secretary and then a second later is conniving with ogasawara... peak i fear#OR THEEEE CAR PARK ONE i love that scene so much ...#very fun.. aoki being a politician just makes it infinitely funnier like guys we gotta bully the governor#plus i live and breathe by a glass analysis/comparison a twitter mutual of mine did ... i love glass imagery .......#uhhhh is that all ... idk prob im literally sweating my skin off i cant think right. my clothes are sticking to my skin i hate summer#i dont hate summer im so sorry i didnt mean it .... summer is beautiful .. i just wish this heat wasnt murdering me

5.31.24 Block him 🙅‍♀️, Study Hard 📚, & Perseverance 🏆
Block him - block him in the spiritual sense, maybe eventually no contact, but for now no deep convos, no what should've been/could've been, hang out only when you want, no sex, only casual like he never meant anything
Study Hard - Study schedule has to be made and stuck to with consequences and rewards.
Perseverance - you can do this just keep going. Keep trying, use this platform to get out the feelings and post the progress and everything!

Utah Begins The School Year By Banning 13 Books, Including Works by Margaret Atwood and Judy Blume
Utah Begins The School Year By Banning 13 Books, Including Works by Margaret Atwood and Judy Blume #Books #Politics #Censorship #Writers #Creators
It’s that time of the year again, kids going back to school and as always, we have another statewide book ban on our hands. That’s right, the Utah State Board of Education has begun the school year by ordering schools to begin removing 13 books that include works by Judy Blume, Rupi Kaur, Sarah J. Maas, Margaret Atwood, and other authors for content that the state has deemed to be pornographic or…

Can't stress enough how much I will NOT stand for mindless hating on Gen Z. I have concerns and criticisms of some trends among them, sure, but I will advise the ones in my circle where possible and defend the rest to anyone who tries to do the bullshit to them that got done to us. Gen Z are such a great generation in so many ways and I will be the older adult I needed for them at every opportunity.

Desperately need a new laptop for school!
Donate and share if you can. Any amount helps! I am currently a sophomore in college and I'm working towards my teaching degree. My school is completely online and my old laptop is dying fast, so I'm trying to raise some money to help me afford a new one. https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-taylor-get-a-new-laptop?utm_source=customer&utm_medium=copy_link&utm_campaign=p_lico+share-sheet

despite running on significantly less sleep than in 2016 i actually think i feel less bad on a personal level today…it’s going to get worse before it gets better (and it will likely get a lot worse) but it’s not the same level of shock i think. it’s not the same level of “what happens next” because we do know what’s planned. and holy fuck is what’s planned terrifying but we know. much easier i think to roll our sleeves up this time around.
