So I was dying my dad's hair in the kitchen earlier today when my brother came down to get some food, and he was wearing my dad's old shirt that said "LAUGH WHILE YOU CAN, MONKEY BOY!", which for those of you who don't know, is a reference to Buckaroo Banzai. This prompted my dad to start telling us the story about how when he first told our mom and several of their close friends about it, the absolutely did not believe that a movie that crazy could exist, and did not believe him whatsoever. Seeing as this was in the early days of the internet, he couldn't find anything online, and despite driving around for hours and hours trying to find a viewing in a movie theater, they had no luck.

Of all the movies coming out this year, “Twisters” is the only one that I feel I’m contractually obligated to watch. It’s a running joke in my family that the first “Twister” was my favorite movie since I watched it every day. It was either that or “Speed”. So, even though the movie doesn’t look that great, I’ll be watching it midnight in honor of childhood me.

But seriously, why does this movie feel like they’re trying to wrangle up the tornadoes like they’re cattle? Also, it feels like a Hallmark movie on steroids. I mean��pretty city girl goes to the countryside for her job and meets handsome, rugged country man. If it’s revealed he’s her childhood sweetheart who she left in order to move to the city, then this movie is 100% made by Hallmark.
