i can't stop laughing at the idea of sgt. athena grant-nash absolutely adoring ravi & ravi being absolutely terrified of her. the 118 all descending on ravi for at least seven separate shovel talks. ambushing him in the supply closet & staring at him really intensely. athena catches bobby speaking somewhat sternly to ravi on-scene and whacks him in the head with a rolled up magazine. gives ravi a little 'hehe i've got your back' wink. ravi, eyes the size of saucers, formally salutes her. hen (who is for sure the worst one btw.) glares at ravi while athena is having lunch at the station with them & athena is like Do Not Look At That Sweet Boy Like That Henrietta. hen raises an eyebrow like damn i didn't know y'all were close like that & goes back to eating. ravi is sweating bullets. he's never been so stressed out in his life. meanwhile athena is sitting there like :) what a nice young man :)

(The Long Awaited) Jason Todd x May Parker (Also known as RedMayhem)

Jason and May’s relationship would have be a slow burn, filled with quiet moments of understanding and unexpected warmth.

May, despite being physically younger, can’t shake the weight of her past life. She’s lived—she’s loved, lost, and raised a kid who isn’t even really hers. Compared to Jason, who’s barely in his late twenties, she feels like she has decades on him. It makes her hesitant, uncertain. Not to mention it would mean moving on from Ben and she felt like she wasn’t only betraying him (even though he’s dead) but also Peter too.

But then there’s Jason.

He’s rough around the edges, sharp and witty, but gentle in ways that surprise her. He doesn’t push, doesn’t demand. He just is. And for May, who has spent so long being the responsible one, the caretaker, it’s unnerving to have someone look at her like she’s worth taking care of.

He makes her laugh. Really laugh.

When they talk, he listens—not just to reply, but to understand. He doesn’t treat her like she’s fragile, but he also respects her boundaries. It throws her off balance, this feeling of being seen. Something she hadn’t felt since Ben in a while.

And the worst part?

When she’s with him, all those doubts—the ones that whisper that this is wrong, that she’s too old for this, that she shouldn’t even think about wanting something for herself—just… vanish.

Because Jason is real. And so is the way he looks at her…just how Ben used to.

Jason remembers the footage—because of course, there was footage. The Joker’s hideout had security cams, and Oracle had managed to pull the recordings. The whole Batfamily had watched.

It was brutal.

May walked in like a storm. No costume, no weapons—just a baseball bat she probably picked up off the street. And she wrecked Joker.

It wasn’t just the physicality of it. It was the sheer rage. The way she swung like she meant to end him. The way she glared, a look so sharp and furious that even Joker’s goons didn’t dare to step in.

And that did something to Jason.

Because Bruce—the Batman, the man Jason once idolized—never did that for him. Bruce let Joker live. Again. And again. And again.

But May?

She didn’t stop to weigh the moral dilemma. She didn’t hesitate, didn’t hold back, didn’t give a damn about what the “right” thing was. The only thing that mattered to her was Peter.

And for Jason… that hit deep.

It wasn’t just what she did—it was why.

Because that’s what he always wanted. That’s what he needed back then.

Someone who gave a damn. Someone who would have burned the whole world down just to get him back.

And May—she did that.

Not for him.

But for Peter.

He saw that she loved Peter more than anything. He was her kid, and she wasn’t about to lose him. Jason had never had someone fight for him like that. Not like that.

And it hurts. Because he sees what she is for Peter—sees the unwavering love, the protectiveness, the sheer certainty that she would do anything for that kid—and he can’t help but wonder…

What if someone had done that for me?

For Jason, it’s not just admiration—it’s personal.

He’s spent years trying to make sense of what happened to him. The pit, the pain, the betrayal of knowing Bruce never avenged him. He’s told himself he’s over it, that he doesn’t need that validation anymore.

But it’s not just the past that makes him want her. It’s the now.

And the more time he spends with May, the more he realizes it wasn’t a fluke. Because May isn’t just fierce—she’s good. She’s kind in a way that Gotham doesn’t see often. She’s sarcastic, warm, stubborn, and she looks at him like he’s just Jason. Not the screw-up. Not the one who broke away. Not the failure. Just him.

He wants her.

Not just because of what she did, but because of who she is.

And yeah, she’s hesitant. He can see it in her eyes sometimes—the doubt, the little flickers of uncertainty. He knows she’s got her own baggage, her own hesitations.

But when they’re together?

She laughs.

And Jason would do just about anything to keep that going.

Not headcanon but a known FACT that Peter doesn’t really know how to take care of himself. Sure he’s responsible. But I’m saying he doesn’t really know how to treat himself with care, because he’s always taking care of people instead. He puts people first before him, always.

Peter had always wanted and was at the start, a solo act. He never EVER wanted to do such a dangerous job with people. He always gets his ass beaten everyday so he doesn’t want to pull people in. Sure there’s the occasional team ups with different heroes but he doesn’t want a team or partner or ANYONE to be beside him when he’s being Spider-Man. Let’s use Ultimate Spidey as an example because it’s where I got the idea from and I’m pretty sure I heard it in an episode where someone actually notices the fact about Peter

When SHIELD approach him with the program with White Tiger, Iron Fist, Power Man and Nova, he was HELLA reluctant. He knew he could barely handle his own, so why the hell would he trust himself with a team? He doesn’t want anyone to get hurt because of his mistakes. What if he gave them the wrong instructions or wasn’t clear enough and they get injured? Is one of his constant thoughts before he decided to just give in after the team proved they’re strong enough that he doesn’t have to worry constantly but he still does.

His worries didn’t end there. During the finale of Season 1, the goblin fight, he was so guilty even though it WASN’T his fault that Norman was injected with part of his DNA. He constantly thought of Harry and what he could be feeling that his dad became a monster. He tried to get his team and SHIELD to back off so he could handle on his own too.

Alright, aside from the actual example, let’s move on to scenarios in the mcu!

At the start, before Peter became an Avenger, he decided he didn’t want to be part of a team. He didn’t want the risk of leaking his identity AND he didn’t want them to get hurt because he KNOWS he’s prone to mistakes. He knows the Avengers are strong but his Parker luck is stronger. Always a force that pulls him down when something seems so bright to him for once.

When Wade also started hanging out with him on his patrols, even though he was annoyed of the man way before they dated, he always put Wade’s safety first, even when he knew Wade could regenerate hella quick. He’ll take a stab wound or gun shot for anyone, just to save other people’s lives. Wade was suddenly very careful of his surroundings since it happened to him once

It’s drilled into him that it becomes first instinct and protecting himself becomes second that other heroes sees it as a bad habit. Particularly Tony(his dad) and Wade(his lover) and every other Avenger/Hero who enjoys his ball of light energy

So Peter definitely gets surprised when people do the exact same thing for him. Wade jumping in front of him to cover the spider as bullets rain down the pair, Tony diving head first to save him from falling, Natasha picking him up and beating people with ease with a teen on her or Hulk simply landing in front of him as a herd of people gathered in front of the spider, eager to attack. Especially if he is about to fight someone one on one or already did, the team is always ready to jump in and save the boy. He doesn’t like it but he’s very slowly getting used to it

Crossover fanfic idea:

Alfred joins a dating app due to Jason, Dick, and Tim’s insistence that he needs to have someone his age to talk to. When Alfred joins he’s not really interested, but under the watchful eyes of his grandbats he swipes for a bit. Before he can swipe again he gets a match notification and the grandbats cheer, encouraging him to message them. So Alfred sends a message to the other person explaining how he was being peer pressured into joining. The other person sends back a laughing emoji and types that their nephew was doing the same thing to them. Charmed, Alfred begins to converse with the other person daily, moving over to text and deleting the original app. After a stretch of time they decide to meet up in person. Alfred tells the family he is taking a weekend off to see his friend and each of the bats are surprised, but insistent he takes a break to relax himself. Bruce reminds him to take the superior bank card so Alfred has access to all the money he needs or wants while out of town. The morning Alfred is set to leave all the bats have appeared at the entrance to hug the older man and wish him luck before he heads out the door. Once in New York City, Alfred finds his hotel before going to find his meet up spot. He arrives early, but as he walks in he sees his pen pal was already there at a table. Alfred made his way over and introduces himself before sitting across from her. After they order drinks Alfred’s penpal’s phone rings and they answer it. His penpal asks if their nephew can stop by to pick up his glasses he left at home this morning because his office is a block away and Alfred says of course. So as they wait for their food, the two of them talk about their kids they have raised as their own. Both of their wards’ parents had died before their time in violent ways and when the wards were extremely young. Just then the establishment’s door swung open and a frazzled college aged brunette entered. He scanned the room and visibly relaxed at spotting Alfred’s penpal. The young man made his way over stammered an apology and thanked his aunt for grabbing his glasses. Alfred had a feeling that he had seen this young man before, but brushed it aside as the city was large and overcrowded. Alfred’s penpal turned back to him when the young man left and apologized for her nephew Peter being a bit forgetful. Alfred smiled and explained to May that he understood. When they were headed out of the establishment, Alfred had offered his arm to May who blushed at being treated like a lady from old films, a big crack and crashing filled the air. Looking upwards there was a rhino looking person held in the air by spiderwebs. May squeezed Alfred’s arm and under her breath breathed Peter. Alfred understood in an instant. When the cops appeared to wrestle away the rhino man, May tried to make an excuse to leave to check on Peter, but Alfred whispered in her ear that he knew and understood that she needed to make sure he was okay. May was a bit startled before looking at his face. May stated, “You are part of the life” to which Alfred nodded. Alfred joked, “You only have one, I have an entire flock” and let May go as they reached her bus stop. May and Alfred parted ways for the day with smiles and waves. Over the next few months the two would call each other and mention how their worrisome wards escaped death this week. Eventually Alfred convinced May and Peter to stay at the manor for a weekend. As soon as they arrived Peter was kidnapped by the batkids and May pinched Bruce’s cheeks. That night Gotham was shocked that the entire bats ensemble was out and had Spiderman with them. Did the bats kidnap Spiderman? The Gotham News got so riled up that Metropolis across the Bay decided to send reporters to investigate. Lucky they did because then Superman was shaking hands with Spiderman and the bats. Meanwhile back at the BatCave Alfred and May were having tea, enjoying the friend they found who understands them.

Apparently people need stuff spelled out for them, Ben Parker still exists in the MCU he is just not shown because marvel thought everyone knew Ben got killed about when Peter got his powers, so they could skip over it. I just saw someone say that Tony Stark is the only father figure Peter has ever had...maybe marvel thought too highly of some of you and they should have shown everything.
