Apparently people need stuff spelled out for them, Ben Parker still exists in the MCU he is just not shown because marvel thought everyone knew Ben got killed about when Peter got his powers, so they could skip over it. I just saw someone say that Tony Stark is the only father figure Peter has ever had...maybe marvel thought too highly of some of you and they should have shown everything.

You know who’s killed off in Marvel? Peter Parker’s father figures.
You know who’s killed off in DC? Bruce Wayne’s child figures.
So really, the only way a Peter Parker in Gotham fic can end is death for the both of them.

* Tony, Peter and Pepper, right after watching a movie Peter had chosen for movie night *
Tony: * concerned * Peter, if you need to talk to someone…
Pepper: * snorts out a laugh*
Tony: Peps, this is serious! I mean, if he actually enjoys this kind of movie, we might need to seek professional help!
Peter: I can't believe you're trying to bash ‘The Time of The Gypsies! I mean, sure, it’s not Star Wars, but it is a masterpiece!
Tony:
Pepper: Kid’s right! We can’t keep watching only action and sci-fi flicks and listen to your incessant bashing of their tech inaccuracies!
Peter: And… That movie is incredible!
Tony: That movie made no sense! The only cool part was the damn turkey! And they cooked it!"
Peter: Pepper, I'm afraid there is no hope…
Pepper: Don't I know it, kid? Thank God I got you, now.
Tony: That’s it! Fri, play The Transporter! I need to cleanse my brain! And you two just lost your movie-picking privileges for the next three movie nights.

Tony: Do you even have any life goals other than spiderman?
Peter: I have been banned from every fast food place in Queens except for the Mcdonalds one block away from the Tower. I don't know what their limit is but I will find it.

Random thought:
So Batman would adopt Spider-man. The bright colors, acrobats and quips would remind him of early Dick and he misses when he (Dick) was just a small bean that didn’t try to fight every plan he had.
But he can’t because of Aunt May, right?
And depending on Timelines depends her age right?
….
What is she and Alfred were dating/got married? Old pen pals or Alfred knew her and Ben from his younger days and reconnected after the funeral to help her as the couple had helped him many years ago.
They just click. And then Bruce doesn’t have a new son, but a baby brother.

What do you consider to be good Deadpool adaptations? This movie was my first Deadpool content in like a looong while so in need some more accurate Deadpool stuff
having a crisis of faith these days when it comes to good deadpool adaptations – there are SO few offerings... but, as far as deadpool adaptations go, the first deadpool movie really does hold up, i think. it's so sincere, when you revisit it. we're lucky to have gotten that movie. it's by no means perfect, but it's sincere. deadpool 2 is an even more wobbly time on it's feet, but i still like that portrayal of wade. i think both of those movies do a much better job doing whatever they're doing than dp/w does. they're movies. about deadpool. could they be better? oh absolutely. so much better. but... you know, i take what i can get.
we don't have much in the way of deadpool adaptation - you'd be surprised. he makes very few appearances in any other form of media. he has a video game that i don't like very much by virtue of being sensory overload for me - (but i think maybe it's fitting of the character) - he's shown up in a few tv series - his appearance in ultimate spider-man might my favourite one, just because it's so completely unhinged.

i really love that stupid episode. it just gets so many genuine laughs out of me i don't know what to tell you. his VA is unbearable, but the writing just - it's genuinely funny. and i just think it's a thoughtful portrayal of deadpool too. there's a lot to chew. from his consistent unreliable narration of himself - his patented approach of being entirely dishonest not just for tactical reasons, but because he just doesn't like confronting truths about himself - the clever ways he breaks the fourth wall, the clever ways he deflects, his ego plays - and his parallels to spider-man - it's incredible how effortlessly they managed to cram all of that into a fairly short television episode for kids - i think it's one of the best adaptations of deadpool. i feel like the writers genuinely knew and understood wade's whole thing and brought it across so effortlessly. i love how fully-formed this wade feels, and i'd honest to god really like to write about him. one day, just you wait. one day i will.

My favorite character in DC is Jason Todd. I love him so much, his story is heartbreaking and interesting and he's a much better character for having died and come back with absolute buckets of trauma.
My favorite character in Marvel and the MCU is Bucky... I think maybe I have a type.

If the rumor is true that Tom Holland!Spidey is going to show up in “Across the Spider-Verse” (I think it’s likely given that the trailer referenced NWH), I can see Tom showing up in two ways:
1) Miles is at his lowest point, leading to him transporting to a new universe in order to escape Miguel O’Hara and the Spider Society. This universe turns out to be the MCU (Earth 199999), where he encounters Tom. The two have a conversation and Tom gives Miles a pep talk. Something about how even though he lost Uncle Ben, Tony Stark, and Aunt May, as well as being forgotten by all his friends, he still continues to fight. So, Tom becomes the Spider-Man who represents what Miles fears will happen to him, losing his loved ones. But Tom is also there to tell Miles that life didn’t end for him despite his losses.
2) Tom appears as the mid-credits/post-credits scene surprise. Either it’ll be a funny gag or a tease to live-action Miles Morales. Or, even a tease to Spider-Man 4.

“The Uncle Ben Effect” - The principle that dictates any parental figure of Peter Parker will undoubtedly croak. (likely in front of him)
Richard and Mary? Dead.
Uncle Ben and Aunt May? Dead.
Tony Stark? Dead.
Fucking Quentin Beck who only PRETENDED to care about Peter in order to steal and try to kill him. Within days the man was in the ground.
Jesus Christ can this child have a family PLEASE!

I will never stop finding it funny that for the longest time the standing rule of comics was
“no one ever stays dead. You can retcon, reboot, spawn a new universe or revive whoever you want, no one ever stays dead EXCEPT for our four special dead guys. Mhm, our men who must stay dead. Ted Kord, Jason Todd, Bucky Barnes and Uncle Ben. It is a universal constant that they are deceased.”
…and now we’re here.

So MCU Spiderman..
1. Doesnt have Uncle Ben. A pivotal part of Peters origin story; and Aunt May dying/replacing him is not the same because Ben was at the beginning for a reason. Aunt May being there after was just as important as Ben dying. (That's like Batmans parents not dying but Bruce's story still going the same and then they just kill someone else after years of being Batman and pretend its the same. Or TLOU Sarah never existing but Joel still being the same and then they kill Ellie in the end instead. It doest make sense.)
2. Doesnt even do photography? Another big part of Peters character that they just... got rid of?
3. Depends on Tony Stark. Peter was basically self made, he was alone in his identity as Spiderman in the beginning, but he knew he was smart and kept going. Now they just got Tony and made him give him a suit with some AI assistant, Tony being some kind of mentor and maybe even more after May's death. Peter would never depend on Tony Stark and the Avengers like that, the MCU took so much of his pride and just Peter away.
4. Is basically just Miles? His storylines, his personality (with some extra one-liners that are supposed to be like Peter), his relationships (Ganke, Tony, the Avengers/Ultimates). Based on Homecoming and Miles' Ultimate comics, I'd say even Michelle and Katie seem similar.
I made a post like this before but geez it pisses me off so bad because there's so many kids now seeing MCU Spiderman as *the* Peter Parker, when that guy's anyone BUT Peter Parker.
And I believe Tom Holland could've done a great job of playing Peter and Zendaya could've been an amazing Mary Jane, but the writers and producers ducked it up big time. They made Zendaya play an OC because they were too racist to make her Mary Jane but still gave her the "MJ" title as if that's the same thing.
I may be overdramatic but like... whatevs!
