#fitandbendy #betterknowyourbody challenge check-in: Tangible Proof Three glorious seconds of toe on head and several not terrible drop backs made Monday night a victory. Stepping up my core, rest, and foam rolling seems to be really making a difference. Now I just need more hours in the day. My biggest achievement is not panicking. Forcing myself to breathe was a big win on my foot to head. The battle with external rotation will be a long one tho. On my drop backs, I feel like I have more control again. I just have to do like 20 to get to the good ones. Day(s) in the Life of a Belly Dancer

Well, the end of this week was really busy! On Thursday and Friday, I did Classical Stretch episodes and segments of Bendy Body. On Friday, I added a Jamila class online (gettin’ my zil on!). Thursday is another back-to-back class day for me and it’s also my tribal day, which is a lot of fun. I’m trying to really pay attention so I’m ready to perform with them next month. Skirts arriving next week! I’ll definitely need to share photos. :-)

I took another two classes Saturday and I’m seriously thinking about dropping one of them. I really enjoy the class I take at one studio (we worked with candles Saturday which is really cool) but the other studio’s class doesn’t really do it for me. The emphasis is on constantly learning a stream of choreographies that I don’t really even like all that much without giving much attention to technique. The only reason I’ve stayed in the class as long as I have is that I like the other students, but it may be time to collect some phone numbers and GTFO.

Anyway, we’ve had gorgeous weather recently so I’m going to get out and enjoy it! Hope your upcoming week is fantastic!

Today's #Tiedtothesky aerial challenge is focused on Progress. So I decided to visit my old favorite the lever split (also called the Russian split). When I first learned this move it was everything to me. It showed my strength, my flexibility, and it was a beautiful shape to create. During my first aerial photo shoot I knew that even though it wasn't all that flat, I had to capture this moment to remind myself what I was capable of. Well, it's nice to see that after all this time it finally has started to flatten out. Never stop changing into the person who you want to be. . Bonus: if you scroll through you can see how long my hair used to be. Took 7 years to grow it out and one hot day to cut if off. 🤣 . . .
