"but hamas is getting funded by extremist islamic hate groups!" do you think the U.S. government and military giving funding for israeli's war efforts against palestinians is a morally neutral and inherently righteous body that had no influence in the politics of southwest asia as a global colonial superpower. do you really think anything you can say about the people resisting oppression can't be said about the oppressors.

((i was looking up how taxes are paid in japan because i realized that leo is self-employed
Normally your employer would file your taxes for you but if you're self employed or make a certain amount or have a sidegig that makes a certain amount you have to fill them out yourself
Which means Leo is like one of the only people on campus who's going to be like 'everyone shut up i'm doing my taxes i'll talk to you in like a week when i've stopped dissociating and managed to get them done' in February
(Sho doesn't have to pay his taxes until the year after starting his business so he's off the hook this year but since Leo often pays him digitally along with cash he has to do Sho's taxes too as his employer just so no one gets suspicious)
(Sho joining Leo like 'yeah I'm gonna have to do these with the fiod truck and all so I guess I have to learn now?' and just watching Leo file their fucking taxes. And both of them hate being bored and they will spend the entire month they have to do it getting extremely distracted by literally anything else. You could check in on them like 'hey how're the taxes going' and they've made a thousand little origami stars and the taxes are not done. Like at first Sho was teasing Leo for having to do something so boring but he was trying to watch and learn and then he got bored too and he's like. I would rather do literally anything else right now can we take a break please)
I just think it's funny to realize that Leo has to pay taxes. Like out of all of them he's one of the only ones that knows how to do his own taxes. Ritsu's family are his employers, their accountants do his taxes. Jin's family's accountants do any taxes he owes. Darkwick does the taxes for most of the students I imagine particularly since I'm pretty sure it's implied they get paid to do missions. But Leo, as an influencer, is self-employed and does it himself and has been for a few years so Darkwick makes him handle it himself lmao
And you might think Leo would just get an accountant and I can absolutely see him getting someone to it for him. On the other hand since he probably has less-than-legal income he doesn't trust someone else to do it for him lmao.))

Hey! I’m really interested in your opinion on Carmen’s book. I too find it a bit suspicious and very vague. Female Invest as a whole makes me question them becoz whilst I get the message they’re trying to say, they apparently making finance ‘easy to understand’ makes it seem like women need it dumbing down to be able to understand it which is… anyway can’t wait to see what your thoughts on it are! (Hopefully we’re all proved wrong and it’s actually worthwhile aha.)
You aren’t alone!! There’s a very interesting phenomena in finance where the basic foundation to get in isn’t taught to many women — so I think if that’s what they’re pitching…… fine! I mean, you could learn the same info for free on investopedia or by reading Motley Fool, but that can be intimidating for someone who doesn’t have a 401k.
I’m not sure if anyone else on tumblr has pointed this out, but Carmen worked in investor relations at a small family office (aka, a regional hedge fund). “IR” or investor relations is significantly more of a marketing/communications role than, say a deal team in private equity or a day-trading desk at an investment bank.
This COULD mean she’s good at explaining things to newbies! It could also mean there’s very little substance. I’ll have to get the ebook to find out!

irks me when people say daredevil is the batman of marvel because there's one fundamental difference between them, and it's that daredevil is dirt poor and batman is a billionaire. their wealth gaps are absolutely integral to each of their characters. daredevil would not be who he is if he was a rich man and i will die on this hill

You know what I find funny? That people across the world expect Palestinian people to just sit there and be bombed like good little victims and never retaliate against Israel because ‘thAt mAKes YOu JuST aS bAD as THem’ while not truly believing that Israel is actually doing anything bad because it’s so much better to be tragic pure victims with no ‘shameful and violent’ incidents behind them because that makes western media less likely to paint you as a tragic hero decades after Palestine is finely free and everyone can agree without being accused os anti semitism (despite the fact that Zionism =/= Judaism) that what Israel is doing is very bad actually. Which is genuinely hilarious because most of the people who are supporting Israel and condemning Palestinian for violent revolution are countries and states that gained freedom through violent revolution themselves.
Like, the USA, France, India, all of them had violent revolution to be where they are at today. And I know most of the anti-Palestinian movement is motivated by Islamophobia (not surprising considering the mentioned countries have some of the highest number of Islamophobic citizens) which also completely ignores the high Jewish and Christian Palestinians population might I add, but the genuine mental disassociation required to believe that violent revolution is not most often the only resolution left at the hands of the oppressed, especially after using violent revolution yourself to gain your freedom is not just hypocrisy but just downright evil.
Anyway, if you want to help Palestinians out and not be a genocide supporter, then please donate to relief funds and gofundmes so that the Palestinian people may one day again thrive in their ancestral land. Since I am not personally supporting any family from Palestine, I’m just going to link @/el-shab-hussein and @/nabulsi vetted gaza fundraiser spreadsheet, please donate if you can and share if you cant.
