Planet Vampires
In which Jenova not only needed the lifeblood of the planet, but needed the blood of the Planet's inhabitants as well.
Hojo first noticed when Sephiroth began teething. Unlike normal humans, the first two teeth to appear were not the top front teeth. The top canines grew long and sharp, piercing though teething reliefs and the bottom of the baby's lips.
The scientist was never one for folklore and fantasy, but when he pried Sephiroth's jaw open and the child bit him in return, he did not expect to see the little pink tongue lap up the crimson liquid desperately.
Professor Gast tested specimen S's tolerance to natural and unnatural UV rays. He held slabs of silver to the project's skin. No effect.
Sephiroth's training advanced rapidly. The day came where no mechanical threat stood across from him. The first fiend he had ever seen in reality stood ferally at the other side of the room.
The pain of murder clashed against his dry throat and licked lips. Simulations seemed easier. No temptation.
Sephiroth didn't like it. Between his Reptilian eyes, his silver hair, and his elongate canines, he already didn't feel human. He didn't feel or look like the woman in his locket.
The pain of war leads all to desperate measures. He lead packs of Wutai herded feinds away from his troop for six days. Once he shook them off his tail, A monsoon flooded the only path back. The Crescent Unit hunted him.
Starving. Dehydrated. Exhausted.
...he didn't want to do it. He didn't remember doing it. He only remembered the swim back and the euphoric taste of iron in every corner of his mouth.
Demon of Wutai. White Winged Angel. The Golden Child. The Silver Soldier. The Vampire of Shinra.
It only happened once. But once was more than enough when wutai found the blood drained bodies. He never told anyone what really happened that day.
In the basement of Nibelhiem, everything became clear. His mother wasn't human. Her name was forgotten by all but those closest to her. She was weakened, paralyzed by such long hibernation. Starved, but alive.
The town burned, but the fire lead every citizen and visitor to Mako Reactor One, where each were relieved of the consciousness.
Sephiroth stood in front of his mother, his heart soaring and his mind clear for the first time in years. He wanted to hold her. He wanted her to feel safe.
He wanted her to feel full. On the blood of the cetra that forced her into hibernation. On the blood of the humans that tempered him into a weapon. On the blood of the planet that would lead them to the next.

Tumblr media
A little girl wanders around the area her father worked in, holding her Moogle plush close to her, a curious look upon her face as she stares up at the machinery in awe. The space around her was filled with gadgets, gears, and scientific equipment and papers. She places her tiny hand on a small glowing blue orb which sits upon her father's desk. The mysterious orb seems to only glow brighter with her touch. She gazes at the object in wonder, her eyes wide with curiosity as she puts her plush down for a moment.
Suddenly, she feels a large hand on her shoulder, a figure towering over her as he crouches down, picking the orb up off of the desk it sat upon before he crouches down in front of the little girl with the blue orb in his hand. The little girl stares at the man in wonder, and full of absolute curiosity. The man wore long black hair which was tied back into a low ponytail, a pair of blacked out glasses upon his face, a long white lab coat which scrunched a little when he crouched down in front of the young girl. He looked to be in his 20s.
"Papa. What is that?"
The little girl asks the man who is crouched in front of her, her voice small and excitable, she was full of happiness and love and all things big and small. Tilting her head to the side as the man, presumably her father, smiles in response, speaking softly and carefully, making sure he spoke in a way for his daughter to understand what he was saying.
"This right here, my little Locket.. Is what we call a Materia Orb. It holds a special creature inside of it. It only responds to its owner by glowing brighter than it already is.. and it seems to me, you're its owner, Lock.."
The man smiles down at the little girl, Lock, as Lock stares back up at her father with big eyes full of excitement and joy. She smiles so big and jumps up and down a little from said excitement, causing her father to chuckle a little at his daughter's response.
"But you will have to keep it somewhere very safe where it won't be lost.. here.. wait here, alright?"
Lock nods as her father hands her the glowing blue orb, standing up and walking a little ways away before coming back a minute later with a heart shaped metal locket, he smiles lightly and takes the orb from her tiny hands and places it into the locket. The orb fit perfectly into the slot. He smiles, standing up and moving behind his daughter, placing the locket around her neck with a small chuckle before coming back around in front of his daughter, watching as she picks up the locket piece around her neck, staring at it in awe.
"It's so pretty, Papa.."
She smiles before tackling her father in a tight hug, being lifted up into his arms as she wraps her arms around his neck, hugging him tightly with a big smile. Her father smiles a little, kissing the top of her head as he wraps his arms around her and picks her up, kissing her on her cheek, causing her to laugh a little.
"I'm glad you like it, my little Locket.."
As her father brushes her hair behind her ear and smiles at the feeling of his daughter leaning into his embrace, however, he's quickly cut off by a few men running into the lab, all seemingly panicked.
"Professor Hojo! We have a major problem in the main laboratory! Specimen 102 has escaped!"
The men's panicked responses causes Lock's father, Hojo to set her down quickly as he crouches down to her eye level, placing his hand on the side of her head.
"Lock, I want you to head back to your room, for me, alright?"
Lock furrows her brows, shaking her head as she pouts, hugging him tightly.
"I don't want you to go, papa!"
This causes Hojo to frown, sighing softly and picking her up, handing her to one of the men to take her back to her room as he hands the Moogle plush back to his daughter before he leaves the lab, rushing away swiftly.
~☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆°•♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡•°☆☆☆☆☆☆☆~
"Focus, Lock! Focus on transferring your energy into the bracelet! You're almost there!"
Angeal calls out towards the 10 year old, watching as she furrows her brows, holding her sword up high as a glow emits from the scythe, indicating that the energy she held was finally being properly transferred. She's been practicing this technique for a few months now, and she's finally getting the hang of it.
When she opens her eyes once more, she notices how the scythe is now missing from her hands, and instead, a bracelet wraps around her wrist, four empty materia slots. Angeal smiles proudly and walks over towards Lock, clapping his hands as he grins, placing his hand on her head and messing her hair up a little.
"Good job, Lock. You've come a long way. I'm sure your father would be very proud of you."
This causes Lock's eyes to light up as she smiles wide, nodding eagerly as she suddenly rushes off to tell her father what she finally managed to do, Angeal watching as she runs off, a smile upon his face as a man walks out shortly after, a small smile upon his face as he stares straight ahead.
"It's all coming together. She is the final descendent. There's only one thing left to do.."
Lock runs into the lab, looking around for her father who doesn't seem to be anywhere in sight. She frowns a little before walking around, the locket piece bouncing a little on her chest as she runs up the stairs in an attempt to find her father. And sure enough, she does. Her father, Hojo is standing in front of a machine, a focused look upon his face as she approaches him, wanting to sneak up on him, but he seems to notice her before she even comes in.
"Ah, Lock, come here. I want to show you something magnificent."
Her father beckons her over, Lock nodding and walking over to where her father stands, trying to see what he wanted to show her, but due to her height, she could see nothing. Hojo notices and lets out a soft laugh, picking her up and onto his shoulders, pointing towards a liquid that falls from a spout and down into the machinery. She tilts her head clearly confused.
"Dad, what is that?"
Hojo smiles with a soft chuckle, sighing a little and glancing up at his darling daughter.
"It's the Mako used to form Materia, and injected into SOLDIERS." Hojo sets her down as he stares at the machinery. – "Now, I understand you wish to become a SOLDIER, Lock.. but I feel it's far too dangerous.. I don't want anything happening to you.. I cannot lose you, my little Locket."
Lock frowns and nods, deciding against telling her father what she learned to do, believing that he wouldn't like to hear it. She simply sighs, staring at her bracelet, a sad look on her face as she looks up at her father.
"I just wanna help people, dad.. is there anything else I can do to help people?"
This causes Hojo to smile and nod, turning towards her. – "For now, you can train with Angeal. But, when you're older.. let's say 16 or so, I can see if you can join the Turks here in Shinra. But for now, stay with Angeal, alright? I don't want you getting hurt."
Lock nods and smiles brightly, hugging her father tightly as she giggles softly, excited to be able to help out Shinra as much as she can, as well as being able to train with her mentor, Angeal.
~☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆°•♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡•°☆☆☆☆☆☆☆~
Lock sighs as she sits on the sofa inside of the meeting room, her hands behind her head as she suddenly hears the door open, sitting up from the sofa, she watches as Tseng, Reno and Rude all enter the room. Reno lazily sits on the sofa beside her, Tseng walks over to his desk and sits down while Rude sits in one of the chairs at the meeting table, fixing his shades.
Lock tilts her head to the side as she gives a bit of a confused look.
"Is everything okay?"
Tseng nods from his desk, looking up from his paperwork over towards Lock.
"Everything is all fine. Avalanche has become more and more of a threat however. We fear they may end up splitting into separate cells soon."
Lock furrows her brows, nodding as she stares up at the ceiling.
"Seperate cells.." She repeats, thinking for a few moments. – "Is there any way we can prevent this?"
Tseng sighs. – "Not unless we take down all of Avalanche. But that will take longer than anticipated."
This causes Lock to nod with a sigh, scratching the back of her head before nodding once again, unsure of what to say now.
————
Lock watches as her father moves from machine to machine, a focused expression upon the man's face as he talks to his daughter, Lock only nodding in response to his words. He finally stops what he's doing and turns towards her.
"So! How do you feel being a Turk?"
This question causes Lock to raise her head, a smile on her face as she fixes her suit jacket, fixing her position as she stands, facing her father.
"I like it. I like it a lot, dad. I actually feel like I'm a part of something. It makes me feel needed."
Hojo nods, smiling warmly as he walks towards her, placing his hands on her shoulders, cupping her cheek softly as he chuckles.
"I'm glad to hear it, my dear Locket."
Lock smiles at the childhood nickname being used once more. She nods enthusiastically, watching as her father fixes the locket around her neck, making sure it was secured around her neck properly instead of falling off.
"Have you had a chance to use your summon yet?"
Lock sighs at her fathers question, shaking her head no with a frown, her father thinks for a few moments before smiling widely suddenly.
"Oh! Lock! Do you remember your Moogle Plush?"
Lock's eyes widen as she nods suddenly, smiling a little.
"Well, come with me! I have to show you something!"
Hojo motions for her to follow as he leads her up a flight of stairs, and into another part of the lab, guiding her to a machine, motioning to a sleeping Moogle floating inside of the machine, causing Lock to stare in awe and shock.
"He's…?"
Hojo nods. – "Alive. Yes."
Lock was a loss for words. Her childhood plush, now was a living creature? What was one to say about that? What was one to do about that? As she stares in shock, she notices her father walking over to the machine and taking the Moogle out of it, this causes the Moogle to stir awake and jump out of Hojo's arms, flying around before sitting on Lock's shoulder, Lock laughing in disbelief.
"Wow..! How did you..?"
Hojo laughs softly. – "It's my little secret, Lock. Why don't you give him a name?"
"How about… Creme."
The Moogle, Creme nods in response, seeming very cheerful as he hums, tilting his head to the side.
"I like that name!"
This causes both Hojo and Lock to stare at Creme in shock, not expecting him to speak. Hojo grins a little, nodding.
"Wonderful! The specimen- er, Creme! Can speak! Such a wondrous sight indeed! Now! Is there anything that you need, Lock?"
He turns his back towards her and goes back to fumbling around with a control panel, furrowing his brows in focus.
"No. I just wanted to say hi."
Hojo smiles and nods, turning towards her once again, placing a hand on her shoulder as he takes her appearance in. Observing her.
"My little Locket.. You've grown so very much! Such a smart young woman!"
Lock shakes her head softly as she smiles.
"I'm only 23, dad."
Hojo sighs, nodding and taking his hand off of her shoulder and letting his gaze linger a little more before pulling her into a hug, she smiles, hugging him back as he kisses the top of her head, eventually pulling away as he takes one final look at her.
"Still. Regardless if you are 23 or not.. you will always be my precious little Locket."
~☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆°•♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡•°☆☆☆☆☆☆☆~
"I thought I knew you. I thought I could trust you. But you're all the same lying, deceiving, manipulating assholes!"
Lock shouts directly towards her father, clutching her scythe tightly in her hands, her breathing heavy, tears threatening to fall from her eyes as Hojo frowns deeply, shaking his head.
"I'm sorry, my little Locket-" Lock cuts him off, anger fills her eyes. – "You're sorry?! You're sorry?! Sorry my ass!"
Hojo takes a step back from his daughter, furrowing his brows, unsure of what to say.
"Maybe it's best if you take a walk to calm down, yes?"
Lock scowls, her heart racing in her chest, a loud ringing in her ears as she laughs at his pathetic attempt to calm her down.
"You really think a walk will fix what you've done?! You killed her! She's dead because of you! I've been lied to my whole damn life, thinking my mother died from a disease, when all this time, it was right in front of my fucking face! You're the one who killed her!"
This causes Hojo to laugh a little at his daughter's sudden outburst.
"I don't blame you for being angry, my dear daughter. But there is one thing you must know. Your mother was the last descendant of the angels. I wanted to do what I could to preserve her. So I ran a few experiments on her, trying everything I could to keep her heart beating. Until one day, she escaped. When we found her, she was already badly wounded, so we put her out of her misery. Don't you understand? If she never escaped she wouldn't be gone."
Lock stares helplessly at the ground, her shoulders dropping, tears fall from her cheeks and onto the ground, but soon, that sadness turns to anger then to rage. She grips her scythe firmly and runs at her father with it, narrowly missing as he stumbles out of the way.
"You're a monster. I hate you."
Hojo sighs, shaking his head softly as he stares into a chamber holding a being named 'Jenova' before turning his gaze back to his daughter, a small smile upon his face as he laughs softly.
"Oh, my little Locket, you have so much to learn. And yet so little time."
Lock furrows her brows, holding her stance in place as her grip tightens on the sword she holds in her hands.
"Little… time? What the Hell are you talking about?!"
Hojo simply shakes his head and leaves the lab, leaving his daughter alone for the time being. Lock drops the scythe, falling to her knees as she stares blankly at the ground below her. She felt as if the world was crumbling down all around her. Every little precious moment she shared with her father was all lies and deception. She now knew the truth, and she hated herself for that.

Reason I chose no Hojo: Yes, without Hojo there is no Sephiroth, but also
no SOLDIERs
no countless victims of Hojo's experiments
no using Jenova's cells in people
Lucrecia wouldn't have crystallized
Vincent wouldn't have been shot nor had Chaos implanted, he would probably also end up with Lucrecia
Hollander's experiments would have been deemed failures and Angeal and Genesis would probably never discover they were enhanced, nor start degrading
Zack wouldn't have joined SOLDIER and wouldn't have been killed young
no mindless people going to reunion
no Sephiroth the hero attracting young teens to join Shinra
Cloud and Tifa's friends probably wouldn't have gone to work for Shinra
no Nibelheim Incident - Cloud wouldn't have become an experiment, Tifa's father and Cloud's mother wouldn't have been killed
Tifa wouldn't have joined Avalanche
Gast wouldn't have been killed
He and Ifalna would have raised Aerith in peace
Aerith wouldn't have been killed young
There wouldn't have been Underground SOLDIER
Sonon wouldn't have been killed by Nero
Nanaki wouldn't have been imprisoned and experimented on
meteor wouldn't have wiped out Midgar
no geostigma
Shinra would still exist, still use mako, and still have an army of robots and infatrymen, and still have a science department, but would people be so blinded without "heroes" for people to be fans of? And Hojo was a special brand of psychopath, Science Department could have been led by someone like Gast or Reeve, who wouldn't create nearly as much damage even while working for Shinra.
I’m curious!!!~
‼️ Things to Consider!! ‼️
• Sephiroth can still go insane, even if Gen & Angeal are around (tho it would prolly be tougher!)
• Hojo’s existence is pretty essential to Seph’s existence shshshshshhd (do you REALLY not want Seph to exist? 🤣 Remember: he ain’t evil yet in these hypotheticals!!)
• Cloud would never have his amazing adventure of healing/wear a dress if nothing goes wrong
• Seph would never meet Angeal or Gen should he never join ShinRa :,3 (unless he moves to Banora ig lol!)
Just a little fun lol!! <333 Try not to view it too much as “nooo stupid mouse lady doesn’t understand the narrative beauty of all their fates being cursed” (bc, really, option 4 is very valid!!!) 💕

Note
What if Sephiroth had a child Hojo made without his consent or knowledge but Sephiroth didn’t find out until the kid was around 12 ish and old enough to be recruited for Soldier?
The Nibelhiem mission. Sephiroth was supposed to abandon Shinra and join his deserted friend. He wanted to make the right decision just as he turned away from the mako engineers on Rhadore.
But the fates are cruel.
You will rot.
Sephiroth's rage died as he left the reactor. He ignored Shinra Manor, the place practically calling his name, to sit on the inn bed in silence. He had made the mistake before, attempting to be a mindless soldier to avoid the pain. But he was already in pain. Maybe it would be different to return to Shinra.
Years pass. Genesis is killed. Zack and his girlfriend fled the city. Sephiroth truly has no one left. Missions become fewer and farther between, but at least the war was over. Killing fiends was easy. Killing monsters at least benefited more than Shinra.
The Silver Soldier was never one for gossip, but due to soldier hearing, closed doors did little to prevent his absorption of knowledge. He heard about The Golden Child, clenching his fists at the fact that Hojo recircuilated photos from his youth into the Silver Elite again. He would swear since he returned from nibelhiem, the conversations only worsened.
Then something changed. Thirty year old soldiers ask how the "chap" was doing. Young cadets offered to stop by the daycare if he was working late. Directors shortened his missions until he returned before a reasonable dinner time every night.
He did not know why until the elevators opened to the director's office, and he came face to face with the immediate connection. The Golden Child.
His Child.
Hojo stood by, informing that it was finally time to take the field. The tween never raised their head, staring down with short silver hair.
He stared in silence. He wanted to scream.

I fully believe that Simcoe and Professor Hojo would absolutely hate each other. Simcoe is a slightly deranged guy, but still has morals and is human, while Hojo on the other hand is a whole new level of deranged, so Simcoe would most likely be a little... what's a good word for it? Disgusted by Hojo?? Yeah, that's a good word for it. While Hojo on the other hand would simply try and torment Simcoe mentally, man's like a leech I swear to God, as much as I absolutely love him, he's a fucking leech. Simcoe would probably end up trying to kill him and each and every time Hojo would somehow fucking dodge it??? Almost everyone wants Hojo dead so he's so fucking used to people thing to kill him so he's completely unphased.
Anyways, I think they should be in a room together, I want to see how long they last before they lose their minds<3
