But just imagine if this is him still being forced to kneel before Rufus right after witnessing/learning about what Rufus did to Glenn...

Dating Sephiroth headcannons

-Sephiroth is the kind of person to ignore you completely at times, and at other times, scoop you into his arms and just hold you there without saying anything.

-He can be very cold and doesn't always tell you he loves you, but he does. Inside, he's the most devoted man on earth and will do absolutely anything for you, before and after his mental breakdown.

-Though he'll never say it outright, he loves you with all his heart; you are the dearest person in the world to him, the only woman he loves more is Jenova. If you asked him to kill for you, he most certainly would. You two but especially you are his goddesses.

-Takes the time to visit you multiple times a day, every day, even if nothing interesting happens. To him, nothing is more important than spending time with his beloved.

-Nicknames (which are rarely used) for you are: Princess, baby, darling, little dove, my love, and fluffpuff.

-Concerning the origin of "fluffpuff", it all began when he purchased a huge, extrmely fluffy baby chocobo onesie for you. Once you put it on, you might as well have been a walking blanket. It was so adorable, his heart melted and the nickname "fluffpuff" was born.

-Loves to do beauty days with you, especially after a long day at work. He's a big strong soldier man, but at the same time, a cute soft boy. He needs some pampering in his life, give it to him.

-Cuddling you is one of his favorite ways to de-stress. He loves to curl himself up around you and just sit there in silence, enjoying your company and relaxing. He also likes lying on your chest, arms wrapped around your waist, while you play with his hair.

-Poor boy gets frequent night terrors and needs a lot of comforting kisses after waking up in a terrified, cold sweat. He does get a bit cold and bristly after such events, so do be gentle. Wrap him up in your arms, kiss his cheeks, forehead, lips, all over, just make him feel loved.

-Sephiroth's like a scared cat most of the time; you need to be gentle and coax him out of his shell. Then he'll start opening up to you and confide in you--some of his secrets can be very dark, but getting them off his chest is a huge help to his mental health.

-Speaking of mental health, as we know, he's not exactly in his right mind. He can be unstable and a little violent, though he would never hurt you. He'd throw things, he'd break things, he'd yell and scream, but he'd never actually hurt you--a sign of how much he loves you.

-If you can mange to calm him down during his tantrums, he'll love you all the more. You are the most precious thing to him; anything you do for him is viewed as a blessing. ❤️

Usually I don't post straight up clips of Advent Children, but god. This is THE Kadaj scene.

His entire character in all of its glory is summed up in this scene, and I can break it down for anyone who doesn't understand.

First of all, it's a perfect display of just how skilled he is in combat, and at controlling his powers. Reno and Rude are both very skilled fighters, and they resided in this room with Rufus while the door was locked. Kadaj managed to slip through said door by turning into mist, and then proceeded to WIPE THE FUCKING FLOOR with Reno and Rude and turn up without a scratch. Not to mention that he clearly was strong enough to take out Elena and TSENG of all people and have proof to show it.

Another thing is that people tend to undermine just how intense Kadaj's emotions are, and how quickly they can flip between one another. Kadaj is described in the ultimania to have intense mood swings and is even written as "insane." When we listen to him talk in this scene, you can tell exactly when his voice drops to be intimidating and cold, when it gets hysterical as he talks about his mother, how it wavers when he brings up they they can't find her, and that he's just a remnant, and how he gets close and nearly yells at Rufus as he mentions that they can't be whole again if they can't find Mother. Mystery, anger, joy, sadness, all of this within ONE conversation. His voice actor noted how hard it was to get Kadaj's mood swings accurately, but by god did that hard work pay off.

We all know Rufus for being like an unwavering rock, staying calm in nearly every situation and being perfectly informed of what's going on. But with Kadaj, he's clearly at a loss. For once, he doesn't have an emotional advantage. He's asking genuine questions. When he tries to be smug for once, Kadaj immediately catches on, and throws the bloodied IDs of Rufus' coworkers at his feet to show that he is NOT fucking around. And Rufus immediately drops the act. Kadaj clearly intimidates him and it SHOWS, even if he does a very good job at hiding it outright. And despite Kadaj outright terrorizing and threatening Rufus, he still calls him "Sir" and "Mr. president." Almost as if to say "your title is just that; a title. You don't have any real strength." He's toying with Rufus and it's fucking beautiful.

God I could go on for HOURS about this scene but I'll stop there. I just needed to yap about it because this is literally my favorite scene from the entire goddamn movie. It's so good. Feel free to add your own thoughts, if you wish.

AGS and childhood teddy bears because I said so:

Angeal: His childhood teddy bear was made by his mother. It has lopsided ears and a wonky eye and his name is “Freddy”. Angeal did not name Freddy, Angeal’s dad named Freddy and really he wouldn’t have it any other way.

As a child Angeal took Freddy pretty much everywhere with him: to the market, do the beach, the doctors office. Even, on one very horrifically memorable occasion, to a funeral…. Now Freddy sits on his night stand looking a little worse for wear but no less loved. Angeal patches up every moth eaten hole and replaces any lost stuffing. He’s got a book on his shelf about Teddy bear repairing and no one is willing to make even the tiniest bit of fun of him. Freddy, to Angeal, is as important as the Buster sword.

Except Zack doesn’t really know what happened to Freddy after he is captured. He’d managed to rescue the little bear before Shinra came in to erase Angeal’s existence but now…?

Genesis: Genesis’ childhood teddybear sits in his bedroom on his bed and gods help you if you touch it. Genesis had many toys growing up, and all of them had backstories and personalities but Gigi was special. The bear had been given to Genesis by his mother after a trip to Junon when he was three. She had been away for weeks and despite the fact that she otherwise showed little interest in him past what he wore and ate, Genesis had missed her so much he’d thrown up crying the night she left. When she came back, bear in hand Genesis had been so delighted at the unusual display of motherly love that he’d completely failed to realise the bear had not come from Junon nor had it come from his mother. In fact the little bear came from a tiny toy shop in the market place and had been bought for him by his Nanny, who had accosted Genevieve Rhapsodos in the hall muttering:

“If he thinks it’s from you he may just be soothed better when you go away again.”

It did and Genesis was never any the wiser. All anyone ever had to do to get him to shut up was hand him Gigi and he promptly curled up either with a book or to sleep. Even when he burned Gigi to a crisp in his rage over the lie that was his life, he never knew his “mother” had not been the one to buy the bear.

Sephiroth: Sephiroth did not have a childhood stuffed animal or any kind. Hojo thought them inane while Gast fretted about the germs they carried, so Sephiroth went without. He had his locket and that was all that mattered to him for a very long time until….

Seeing Freddy and Gigi, Sephiroth is hit with unimaginable envy over what could have been. The loss he feels is stupid. It was an inanimate object for Gaia’s sake! He should not be bereft at the sight of it! Except he is, and he wants his own so badly it aches.

Sephiroth has a little ritual of patting Freddy gently on the head in greeting and nodding to Gigi when he sits on his friends beds. Angeal watches him with sympathy in his gaze while Genesis watches him like a hawk around his bear. But both of them know the reason behind the gesture and never point it out.

Until one holiday Angeal hands him a little brown paper wrapped package wrapped up in red and white twine, the way the shop owners used to wrap the toys in Banora. When Seph opens it he doesn’t speak, just touches the little tiger stuffy with reverence and lets the tears fall. Like Genesis, Sephiroth is very protective of teddy (he’s not imaginative with names leave him be). No one mentions that he stays on the pillow across from Sephiroth, and nobody mentions that most mornings Sephiroth wakes with teddy pressed to his cheek and subconsciously rubs its soft fur across his top lip soothingly.

Years from now HR will throw that same tiger doll into a black bag and into a land fill in the sector seven slums. Years from now a vendor will pick it out, clean it up and sell it to a tall man with a gun for a hand and a baby strapped to his chest who just rolled into town. He wants it for the baby, his daughter, and she sleeps with it every night.

Years and Years from now that same little girl will solomnly tell that tiger to watch over her brother while her uncle Cloud looks for a cure…

Years and years form now a winged stranger in a red leather coat with spy the little Tiger sat on the whiskey shelf for “safe keeping” and no one will know how to sooth him because no one knows what’s wrong.

Many years ago I made a few crossover arts with FFVII characters wearing Hotline Miami masks. I can't call it a redraw but like, eh, a modern approach :D

In my AU Yazoo ends up in the turks after FFVII AC events. He don't use his last Nightmare Velvet anymore (It's too heavy and valuable!) but he got 6 guns instead and performs one of his Limit breaks.

Cloud Strife in Advent Children 1/∞

One of the little touches I like best about Advent Children, flawed movie though it is, is that we never see Aerith's face until the very end. Up until that point, her face is always hidden or obscured.

She feels almost otherworldly. Distant from Cloud's life, almost like a faded half-memory. She feels, well, dead. Something that only half-exists now only in visions and memory. There, but never really there. Maybe it's a commentary on the nature of faith. Or maybe it's Cloud still feeling disconnected after losing her.

Which is why THIS moment at the end

feels genuinely powerful. We finally get to see her face again. It's the moment where Cloud fully seems to accept her death and move forward. It's a final moment of real catharsis where he recognizes that his dead loved ones are still with him but he CAN finally let go--he's not alone anymore.

Everything is alright.

And that's beautiful.

I don't care if AC is goofy and kind of messy. It has its problems. But there are just as many highs in there as well. I think the team behind it was being 100% sincere with what they made here and it shows. The ending is genuinely moving for me. And a poignant close to the world of FF7 as a whole.

huff,,, motorcycle ride with cloud,,, full of tension on both ends,,

“you’re sure this is okay?” cloud almost jumped at the proximity of your voice against his ear, the growl of the fenrir’s engine fell on deaf ears as your voice caught his attention way more.

he huffed, responding with a grumbled, “yeah.” cloud was always pretty curt, you knew that. but you could’ve sworn that his response sounded a little more choked than usual— not that the way your arms tightening around his waist had anything to do with it.

he felt the small puff of air you let out against his neck, hoping you didn’t realize his posture stiffening at every breath that left him, when in reality, you were trying your damndest to not lean your head on his back right then and there. a few days prior, you had made a passing joke when visiting cloud about the well kept condition he had his bike in, making a small comment as you thought aloud about what it’d be like to ride it.

and what you didn’t expect was to receive a call a few days later telling you to come outside as you heard the muffled groan of the engine in the background of the phone call— and you definitely didn’t expect to be wrapping your arms around cloud’s waist while you shrieked at the purposeful buck of the bike he did to scare you. you could’ve sworn you felt the rumble of a chuckle bloom in his chest at the noise, too.

“shouldn’t you be wearing.. you know— a helmet?”

“you decided to ride with me just to lecture me about motorcycle safety laws?”

“to be fair, i didn’t decide to. you were already outside.” you retorted, retracing one arm to point a finger at cloud as he barely turned his head to the side, only giving you a slight view of the slope of his nose. a quick rumble of the engine made you tense up real quick, closing your mouth as your hands immediately darted for cloud’s waist. he let out a choked hum of surprise, and you could’ve sworn you saw his gloved grip tighten on the handles.

helping with the courier service wasn’t exactly interesting, per se— but it was fun to tag along on a motorcycle with cloud, even if he didn’t say much. and although youd probably have a hard time getting the roars of the fenrir out from echoing in your head, it was pretty thrilling to ride on a bike, not to mention that having yours hands on cloud’s waist was a big plus, too.

“you know you’re also supposed to take like.. even more protective measures too, right?”

cloud scoffed, “so stuck-up.”

you gasped, “i am not—!”

“are too.” he responded, throwing a smug half-smile your way as he revved the engine. you rolled your eyes, smacking his shoulder a bit. “and you’re hitting me now, great.”

“oh, shut up, cloud!”
