This fandom can't make up their minds, can they? *Show focuses on Stolitz* "Boooo! Give us more of I.M.P. doing their job!" *Show gives us two shorts about I.M.P assassin missions* "Boooo! These shorts suck!"
You want my opinion? The creators can make these shorts about whatever the hell they want, same with the episodes. Doesn't mean i'll like EVERYTHING they put out (Cherub and Unhappy Campers, i'm looking at you) but i'm not gonna act like an entitled brat for not getting what I wanted.

it’s a fucking waste of my time and energy but I’ll do it anyway because the entitlement in the sailor moon fandom has reached enormous levels.
first and for most,
IF YOU DONT WANT TO WATCH THE PREVIEWS GET OFF THE FUCKING INTERNET
nobody needs to listening to your whiny ass anyway.
THAT being said, it seems that most of you have never waited for a media to come to you your entire life, and you think that everything is simple and fast and the production companies should hurry already.
first off, literally go fuck yourselves
now that we established that
the CINEMA doesnt work the same way your fancy plasma TV does, the cinema production needs to get converted into TV/DVD/STREAMING format
resolution is the biggest issue here, the director needs to decide what to leave out from the sides of the screen, sometimes is 50/50 some is 90/10 it depends on the scene. THAT NEEDS TIME AND WORK HOURS AND DECISION MAKING, it doesn’t happen overnight.
on one hand you are all about the actors rights, and working conditions, and animators should unionize, and everything in between, and then you go and scream at TOEI to overwork their staff and get you a release faster. and then go and call them lazy for not doing it the way you wanted it.
again GO FUCK YOURSELVES YOU ENTITLED LITTLE SHITS
you’ve been fucking exhausting since crystal came out

I write my fics because I want to write about what I want to read. If you want something specific anon, do it yourself like the rest of us lmao
Don't you think you owe it to readers to give them what they want?
No? What an odd take. Read my fic or don't.

listen like. people are totally entitled to their opinions and criticisms of the pjo show but. sometimes it’s just hard to hear/read. I know the show isn’t perfect but seeing the cast & producers talk about it and seeing the level of love and excitement theyve put into the work, idk, I feel for them having people tear it to shreds. criticising the author himself for not adapting it well when he’s doing something different with a new medium, saying they’re sorry for the kids who love the books but have to act in this “terrible” show as if these kids aren’t THRILLED by the opportunity and just so committed to giving the show their best.
(watch the behind the scenes documentary. seriously.)
again totally valid criticisms & opinions!! but you win some and lose some in an adaptation. eg. trying to expand on themes, keep a consistent tone, appeal to a broader audience (including those of us who loved the books as kids but are now!!! adults!!!), keep within budget, etc etc all these things involve some trade offs. sure some of the humour and goofiness has been lost but we also get amazing beautifully acted scenes that really expand on core themes of family or who is a monster etc etc.
speaking on a personal level I have had a hard time these past few months and this show became a genuine escape, a way for me to connect with my sister watching the episodes together, a rediscovery of my inner 12 year old who waited so long for this. and I know there are people who are like me and they had certain expectations and that’s why they’re disappointed and that’s so valid, but it’s a lot of negativity sometimes, & I just wish we could give a little grace bc making a creative thing is hard, and pleasing everyone with that creative thing is impossible, and most of all, maybe we could revel a little bit more in this unique complex piece of work that lots of people poured their hearts into with nothing but the best of intentions.

I have seen a bunch of positivity/appreciation/whatever for fanwriters/artists but like. remember to appreciate your scanlators/translators. like the scanlating scene is not what it used to be because the official sources have picked up lot of like. popular mangas but you still rely on scanlators etc for more niche works and... I used to do lot of scanlating and I don't think I EVER got a positive comment or any appreciation and like... at least when I write and share my unhinged fic or art I made it to amuse myself but if I am scanlating a comic I already can read it obviously so ANY work I am putting in is 100% for other people... I have literally scanlated whole-ass series because I knew ONE person read them at all and I wanted them to experience a series I liked. If people don't like your work tho why would anyone do it then?

Y'all really need to understand what makes a finished game. Nothing of this makes the game unfinished, no matter how unhappy you or I are about it.
A finished game needs a plot that reaches from beginning to end and is playable without bugs. Ideally there are no more quests (that actually open quests) in the game that the player is not able to resolve. That makes a finished game. Baldur's Gate 3 delivers on this.
Am I unhappy with how Karlach and Wyll are both handled in terms of their companion quests? Yes, I am fucking unhappy about it. The two of them deserved so much more.
Does Act 3 in general feel very unpolished in comparison to Acts 1 and 2? It absolutely does.
Would I have loved some DLC or post-game involving the Upper City or Karlach and Wyll in Avernus? Oh yes, I would have.
Does any of this make the game unfinished? No. It doesn't.
Y'all also need to learn that cut content does not make a game incomplete. Sometimes content gets cut for time. Yes. Sometimes content however also gets cut because the creatives behind a piece of media do not think that whatever they had originally planned would work with other changes in the plot (pregnant Minthara and guilty Halsin might well belong to that kind of cut content). And if it gets cut for time, it is still stuff that gets cut down on DevTime it is still the stuff that the game does not need to be considered a finished product.
I am sorry, but really, the BG3 fandom is quite a bit entitled in these regards. BG3 is a game with a ton more content than any other game currently on the market does offer. This absolutely is facts. And Larian supported this game longer with new content patches than any other AAA studio supports their games with free added content.
Yes, there is absolutely reasonable criticism to be had here. Because yes, it is quite noticable that Karlach and Wyll as the only two non-white companions got handed the short end of the stick in regards of content. This might well be subconscious bias on whoever made the decision (a lot of people blame the writers, but let's be clear, we do not know who made the decision - it might well have been someone higher up), but it still does not make the game incomplete.
Would I have written both characters quite differently? If I had been given the chance, I totally would've.
But here is the thing folks: You whining on tumblr about how the game was unfinished (which, again, it was not) might get people to agree with you, but it is not gonna change shit. And there will nothing be changed about BG3, because in the end WotC is shitty and working with Hasbro is clearly a nightmare.
Expecting even more content in the end also creates an even more toxic envirionment for gamedevs, a lot of whom already have to do a lot of unpaid crunch work.
What you can do: Write a carefully worded email at Larian with well formulated criticisms, that does not blame them for "not finishing" a game that was more polished on release than basically any AAA title I have seen in the last 5 years (though the bar is on the floor - given that half of the AAA studios do not manage to release a playable game on release at times taking a week to get the game to actually start), but rather brings up good points. Stuff like: "It is noticable that the non-white characters get treated way less carefully than their white counter parts."
But really, you will not get any studio that has delivered a very polished game on release and then has supposed it for more than a year after the release with new FREE content updates, to listen, when you just cry that it was "unfinished".
larian studios never released a finished game. here's a list of things that got cut, or had to be added in a later patch, or just never included in the first place
completely cutting the upper city in act 3
cutting a bunch of lore in the shadowlands in act 2, including halsin's connection to isobel
cutting the cazador plot down till there was no connection between astarion and the nether brain
wyll. just everything to do with wyll.
similarly, a lot to do with minthara (recruiting her, having her in camp with halsin at the same time, pregnancy plot)
duke ravengard. he's a strategic and political player in baldur's gate and yet after he's rescued he just hangs around in our camp
withers' party after saving baldur's gate
evil endings of course
the letters you receive at the end
karlach's engine (was it ever supposed to be fixable or was her sacrifice/death the whole point of her original arc?)
feel free to reblog with more

vague-posting about this here cuz i don't feel comfortable yapping about my su takes on twitter, but after everything that's happened the most interesting thing about the su fandom to me is that so many are 100% there for applying the "everyone can change and deserves a second chance" message to everyone, even the diamonds. except for one ☝️ she doesn't count. cuz she's dead.
#personal#very extremely delete later#ok cutting the vague post this is about a “whose the worst cartoon mom” twt post with pink diamond in the running#and a bunch of people pointing at her. the woman who died in childbirth and never got to meet her child. and she's literally next to#mother gothel. the baby kidnapper who kidnapped a baby#i'm always gonna be a pink diamond nuancepilled defender. she was a shitty entitled teen who grew up with a silver spoon in her mouth#then got self-radicalized and rebelled for both selfish AND selfless reasons#“this show is great because everyone makes mistakes and learns from them. except the pink one. she's bad and dead forever.”#anyways this is a crit towards the fandom not the show#“she had steven so she could selfishly escape her mistakes and put all her burdens on her child” or she wanted a child#“she abandoned her family” or she died during childbirth#“she started a war that got thousands of gems killed and mutilated” and if she hadn't nobody on earth would exist#the fact that some fans are more willing to jump to white diamond’s defense when talking about her reformation and redemption#white diamond—the architect and supreme ruler of a 10000+ year old fascist empire—has 10000% done worse more unforgivable things than pink#guys even blue diamond has shattered gems before. like not just kill them but permanently split their souls into pieces.#ruby called her a “SHATTERER.” she was INFAMOUS for murdering people. pink never shattered anyone#for fans of a show that explicitly says nobody's truly a villain you guys sure do want a villain really badly#anyways “we need more compelx female characters y'all couldn't even handle rose quartz” etc. etc. etc.

So I see how Al is not a dealbreaker in the ROP fandom and it's been excused as just fantasy for the fans.
Your fantasy is not more important than actors being able to consent to the nature of their characters' scenes. This is also a real life concern for everyday people. Making Al slop for your fantasies directly undermines the fact that ROP brought on an intimacy coordinator to ensure the cast's comfort.
Also, we just had three strikes over this in the creative media industries.

Hellaverse lesbian discourse is so annoying because like-
We have several female characters who haven't even been introduced yet or have only one line. Molly, Crymini, Helsa, Zeezi, Clara and Odette. Even Sera, Emily, Glitz or Glam. There is plenty of potential for at least some of them to be lesbians.
But no, let's decide to focus on the women who are implied to be bisexual (Velvette, Carmilla and Rosie) or homophobic and straight. (Lute) Don't get even get me started on Barbie Wire. THAT'S the lesbian representation you guys want from a character? A groomer?
I guess it only counts when its a character you like, huh?

friendly reminder that creators within fandom (whether it be gifs, edits, meta, fanfiction or fanart) choose to take time out of their day to provide you with new content for free.
it’s easy to take it for granted since it only requires a few seconds/minutes to scroll through your dash, but it’s important to remember that behind that there are often hours, if not even days, of work and dedication.

Why am I seeing so many people shit talk artist who draw sirius in a 'feminine' way.
If you don't like it draw him yourself.
This fandom is so ungrateful.
There is nothing wrong with fem presenting genderfluid sirius. Suck my knob

my thoughts on the whole Cameo Thing™
Putting my first tweet in a screenshot; the rest is copy-pasted. And for context, since the quoted tweet was (understandably) deleted, it said, "Yes $100 is a lot, and it feels a little classist as some of us won’t be able to afford it."
Tumblr media
Cameos are not a public service. No one is hurt by not having the ability to spend $100 on a video. No one is being treated worse than others because they can't afford a personalized video. I don't understand how "classist" would even come to mind.
Even if that was the worst example, I'd still fully get J's reaction. He and G are professionals. They deserve to be paid fairly. Based on G's earlier rate, other ppl's cameo rates, con photo rates, and how unique J&G are... $100 is a great deal.
I expected the $100 price tag. If George charged $50 for one person... I mean, there's two of them now. 50 x 2 = 100. I'm shocked that more than a handful of folks were surprised.
A personal anecdote: I've just started taking art commissions this fall. I am finally confident enough to charge a rate that fairly compensates me. Honestly, I should probably charge more.
Things like art commissions, cameos, convention photos/signings all fall under the same umbrella. They are treats. They are luxuries. They are never going to be equally accessible to all. It's not just price; it's also time, expertise, location, etc.
What kind of message does it send artists, writers, actors, creatives, etc when we frame their reasonable* rates as selfish and wrong? * reasonable based on industry standard, not on individuals' wallets
Anyway. J radiated enthusiasm for another chance to engage with us. I expected his happy bubble to burst at some point—I was surprised by his level of fandom engagement tbh—but that doesn't make it any less fucking sad.

If you're upset or heartbroken or angry because Jayden is backing away: maybe think about why, and if you could change what you do to help protect yourself from suffering this kind of distress should something similar happen again.

The thing about HotD is that it while it absolutely minimizes the agency and ambition of both Rhaenyra and Alicent, this is specifically used to glorify Rhaenyra and frame her as righteous while condemning Alicent and framing her lacking. That's the key difference in both their textual portrayals that has directly led to 90% of the fandom hailing Rhaenyra as the second coming of Christ while spewing the most hateful vitriol at Alicent just for existing. But y'all are not prepared for that conversation.
