The worst is that Light was emotionally manipulative towards his girlfriend. But the girlfriend isn't Misa,but Takada. We're treated to his inner monologues where Light plans to make Takada fall for him so he can make her do his bidding. Besides,not only Light is shown to manipulate Kiyomi,but we also see the steps he takes. To top it all,he ends up killing her in a brutal,humiliating way without missing a step.

Personally,I think it's fitting that Takada was the last person Light killed.

If you get viscerally angry at literally any & every depiction of a character in which they're not faultless & above reproach, no matter how flattering said depiction ultimately is, then you cannot be mad when people decide to stop engaging with them altogether. People like to write & read about characters. Characters who are allowed to have an actual personality & character arc in which they grow & learn. Not perfect cardboard cutouts who never ever change.

Fandom Problem #8322:

I ventured onto a Pokemon blog today, and I had to read "Latios has been white-washed in the newer generations" with my own two eyeballs. I hate everything. Latios' original design is gray but all the pokemon in the recent generations got paler, not just Latios, it's just how they wanted the game aesthetics to go. It is NOT a case of "white-washing".

Like obviously if you're intentionally depicting racism faced by elves in your fan work that can be a different story but like. The casual use of these terms just describing your characters or whatever has real life connotations that are really uncomfortable. ESPECIALLY "savage" - that's a whole fucking real life slur.

"Aegon couldn't instantly tell his own kids apart" They're small twins, and Jaehaera had her back turned to him; of course he couldn't instantly tell.

"Aegon ignored his children in s1, he only has an interest in them now because he's king and they're of use to him" Tom Glynn-Carney himself has said multiple times that Aegon loves his children. He didn't "ignore them," we barely even saw Aegon and Helaena in season 1, let alone their kids. We saw the kids ONCE, and even Helaena was only sitting in the room while a maid tended to them.

Aegon loves his children. And to my knowledge, there was never anything in the books saying he didn't. If you can't cope with that, then you should sort that out in therapy.

why are people so obsessed with comparing alicent motherhood to rhaenyra's?

their situations are so different. alicent had no support system, the only parental role model she had was otto. she was maritally raped and forced to have children at 15 with an abusive neglectful partner and no support system to help and guide her. (because yes, a 15yo teenager is still a child and needs help and guidance to deal with a baby)

while rhaenyra's mother also died, and viserys is also a shit role model, rhaenyra had children when she was older with a man she loved \ cared about. she chose to have kids with harwin. also, laenor was also a kind man and seemed to support her and the children.

alicent and rhaenyra both loved their kids and did the best they could. alicent is def struggling with her motherhood, but the way this fandom shows her no compassion and labels her as a "bad mom" while forgiving viserys's horrible treatment of his children is so disappointing to see.

people don't realize that "you're not as good of as mother as this other woman" is constantly weaponized and used to oppress women. and it's never "you're not as good of a dad as this other man". never.

Fandom Problem #8310:

When a show ended years ago but shippers are so bitter that their otp didn't become canon that they still relentlessley whine and attack the creators and other shippers about it two decades later. Also constantly dragging down the characters that get in the way of their ship and purposefully mis-interpreting their characters to make them seem like assholes when NOTHING in canon supports it. And also writing essay upon essay overanalyzing the same TWO scenes over and over and why it proves their ship should have been canon and calling the creators stupid, misogynistic incels for not agreeing with their vision.

Hotd fandom never ceases to amaze me with their ruthless behavior towards some of the most talented artists and writers..... and it's always the most unemployed and untalented fucks who band together to drive out these gifted individuals. my thoughts on the whole Cameo Thing™

Putting my first tweet in a screenshot; the rest is copy-pasted. And for context, since the quoted tweet was (understandably) deleted, it said, "Yes $100 is a lot, and it feels a little classist as some of us won’t be able to afford it."

Cameos are not a public service. No one is hurt by not having the ability to spend $100 on a video. No one is being treated worse than others because they can't afford a personalized video. I don't understand how "classist" would even come to mind.

Even if that was the worst example, I'd still fully get J's reaction. He and G are professionals. They deserve to be paid fairly. Based on G's earlier rate, other ppl's cameo rates, con photo rates, and how unique J&G are... $100 is a great deal.

I expected the $100 price tag. If George charged $50 for one person... I mean, there's two of them now. 50 x 2 = 100. I'm shocked that more than a handful of folks were surprised.

A personal anecdote: I've just started taking art commissions this fall. I am finally confident enough to charge a rate that fairly compensates me. Honestly, I should probably charge more.

Things like art commissions, cameos, convention photos/signings all fall under the same umbrella. They are treats. They are luxuries. They are never going to be equally accessible to all. It's not just price; it's also time, expertise, location, etc.

What kind of message does it send artists, writers, actors, creatives, etc when we frame their reasonable* rates as selfish and wrong? * reasonable based on industry standard, not on individuals' wallets

Anyway. J radiated enthusiasm for another chance to engage with us. I expected his happy bubble to burst at some point—I was surprised by his level of fandom engagement tbh—but that doesn't make it any less fucking sad.
