Two separate occasions but both bringing out a rare intense emotion from Saverio! Sometimes I like to think I make up cool lines on the fly when playing as him 🤔

Joy - Dog. Good for wagging when happy.

Anger - Dragon. Pretty self explanatory.

Fear - Cat. Puffed up 99.9% of the time.

Disgust - Rat. Thought to be gross creatures but are actually one of the neatest.

Sadness - Snow Leopard. Icy, cold, the tail simply drags on the ground behind her.

Anxiety - Lion. Courageous. I count this one as per-existing even though I can't find the original image I saw of her with a tail.

Envy - Squirrel. Just for the cuteness. Her tail is larger than she is.

Ennui - Monkey. Prehensile tail for holding things and hanging off stuff.

Embarrassment - Bear. C'mon, it's right in his name. Stupidly adorable just like him.

the baggage

everyone comes into a relationship with baggage. most people drop it when carrying gets heavy. the right person helps you unpack. goes both ways. the question is - are you ready to unpack?

so you're either gonna trip over each other's stuff or you gonna unpack together. there's no other way. once you're ready for the latter, wash the dirty pieces first, handle them with care, then fold them nicely - in a shared closet.

home is built on all the stuff we carry around heavy trying to shake off or run away from, until we're ready to sit with them, unpack carefully, and eventually decorate our space with.

(spoilers for Harumasa's agent story!)

Does anyone ever think about how Harumasa purposefully acts in a carefree way about his own illness and hides how serious it is to the people he cares about? How he makes everyone think he's slacking off on purpose, and it's not because of his terminal illness, chronic conditions, or sleepless nights?

A part of it is that he doesn't want to worry other people, and another part of it is that he's afraid of being rejected. His birth parents already left him because of his illness. Harumasa feels alienated, and is afraid of his potential for monstrosity: he could turn into an Ethereal and lose himself, but his spinal fluid was also used for dangerous, experimental drugs. The one person he did care about, his mentor, was taking advantage of him. And when Harumasa learned that there was some element of affection in his mentor's actions, he also learned his mentor was killed precisely because he cared about Harumasa too much.

Despite it all, Harumasa loves people. He loves humanity. He loves Section Six. But there's a part of him that's afraid of being vulnerable and honest. I think he's both afraid of being hurt and hurting others, so he keeps them at a slight distance. For his sake, and for theirs.

It breaks my heart knowing there are so many beautiful souls out there questioning their worth because someone they loved made them feel unloveable.

Thinkin about how cool it is that we get MCR in the year of our lord 2024. Choosing to live in spite of pain has always been such a strong message of their work and that isn’t without reason. There’s an alternate timeline where the mental and sometimes even physical (thinking about Frank here) struggles that they’ve endured won. I don’t mean to be bleak in observing that we could have very well lost members of this beloved band years ago. But that’s just it: we didn’t. How better to exemplify the importance of choosing your own life than showing us that aging and changing is beautiful. Gerard’s intro for Disenchanted, the thing about the beauty of being young and angry stands out to me because he isn’t that anymore. He’s not the wild front man of this fresh off the scene band anymore. He’s happy now in ways that probably would’ve been shocking to that version of himself. Gerard Way and the rest of the band performing in 2024 is so cool, not just because it’s always amazing to see this band we love, but it signifies just how important their message is. As Swarm Era Gerard so beautifully put it, “In the face of extermination, say fuck you”

I know this is still really early in the project, and things could still potentially change. But I really appreciate seeing "toxic yaoi" that is actually toxic. I'm sick of seeing toxic yaoi that's just two kinda sucky people. I'm so intrigued to see how downright awful some of these guys get/are

Thank you very much! I'm a bit of a For Real toxic yaoi connoisseur you could say. I don't like/wanna ruin the fun by saying "hey guys it's like toxic as in abusive" but like you said I worry that people will just me say toxic yaoi and think it's just two guys being kinda dicks to each other and then see what actually happens and get mad at me for being silly.

and uh, it gets bad. I would say act 1 is the most tame about those aspects of the story. So get excited (or afraid. whichever)
