Kinda obsessed with the historical context of Rise of the Guardians. Pitch wanting the Dark Ages to come back, which historically was the decline of culture and records. The Guardians rose at the same time as the Renaissance with the rise of culture, knowledge, and science. (Tooth in particular mentions that she hasn’t been out in the field for 440 years, give or take, which would put that smack dab in the middle of the Renaissance)
The way Pitch doesn’t want the world to change, the way the Guardians change in tune with the world. The way Jack, who lived in has a human in the 17th or 18th century, who lived in the time after the Renaissance and lived witnessing the world all the way to the modern era, is there to show the Guardians how much they missed and how they can further change and improve for the more modern world. These characters are immortal beings who have so much power over the world, it makes so much sense that when they fall and rise in power it impacts the world that they want to influence, for better or for worse.

MANIFESTATION WORKS PERFECTLY: You just refuse to accept your desires
Tumblr media
Here’s the thing, sometimes your manifestations are right in front of you, but you don’t recognize them because you’re not willing to accept them.
The problem isn’t that you’re doing something wrong, not affirming enough, or not visualizing correctly
The real issue is that you’re not allowing yourself to RECEIVE what you’ve manifested. You’re either dismissing it, doubting it, or finding reasons to "push it away"
.·•ྀ࿐ ˊˎˏˋ°•*⁀➷ೄྀ࿐ ˊˎ-
Let me give you an example:
Let’s say you want to manifest free food. A few days later, you go out with someone. When the bill comes, they want to pay, but you say, “No, it’s fine, we can split it.” Suddenly, you start feeling guilty like you owe them something.
This is a perfect example of rejecting your own manifestation.
You manifested free food, and it showed up, but you turned it down. Instead of feeling guilty, just let them pay! You don’t need to return the favor immediately, and you shouldn’t feel obligated to
Learn to accept the things that come your way without guilt.
It’s all about being aware of what you’ve asked for & what’s already showing up
How many times have you turned down something that was exactly what you asked for without realizing it?
Next time, ACCEPT IT
ˏˋ°•*⁀➷*ೃ༄⋆·˚ ༘ **ೃ༄ˏˋ°•*⁀
While we are on this topic, let me bring you another story:
A family was stranded on their roof during a flood. Boats & a helicopter came by offering help, but they refused, believing that God would save them. When they passed away, they asked God why they hadn’t been saved
God replied, “I sent you boats and a helicopter!”
*ೃ༄⋆·˚ ༘ *.ೃ࿐•·.·''·.·•ˏˋ°•*⁀*༄
How many times have you refused to accept your desires and then claimed it was "taking time"? Take a moment to look back and realize that you’ve probably had your manifestations right in front of you, but you didn’t accept them.
The point is, your manifestation is already there. You just have to accept it. So next time it shows up, don’t turn it down. Embrace it, your desires are already here

Things that might be offputting to readers that you may not notice while writing your fic, part zero:
Putting numerals in your work instead of spelling out the number. It's a writing rule in English to largely spell out a number unless it's an incredibly complicated number to write out. Why? No idea. Just makes for a smoother read if there's a "fourteen" instead of a "14" in the middle of a story.
Using homophones in all the wrong places. If that word sounds like another word, and you're not absolutely certain which one is which, give it a quick google before you plop it down in there. Yes, the reader may still understand your intended word even if you use the wrong one, but it forces the reader to think a little longer about something that isn't the cool part of your fic for a hot fraction of a second. You want your reader to focus on your cool ideas.
(It may also be easier on your readers who are less fluent in the language you're writing in, or for readers who're using machine translation to read your fic, if you spell things correctly and use words that translation dictionaries can recognize. Hey, you never know the literacy level of your readers!)
Large chunks of text without paragraph breaks. I know that essay-writing taught a bunch of little academics that long paragraphs are totally cool and fine, and they are— in essays. In stories with dialogue, though, it's generally easier reading to parse who's talking when if every speaker has their own little paragraph to talk.
And, speaking of dialogue, having non-spoken words in quotation marks forces readers to double check whether someone is actually talking or not. Leave the quotation marks to the dialogue. If a character isn't speaking, signing, or a piece of writing being quoted...try italics. If you need to distinguish something from the rest of the texts, italics work super well. (This is a sin I have committed before. I probably will again too ngl. The sarcastic quotes are just. *dramatic kiss gesture*)
Yes, you can totally do whatever you want forever and never have to answer to anybody. You're not obligated to listen to me or internalize any of this and no one is grading you— certainly not me! If you're feeling a little merciful, though, this might make things a little smoother on your readers' end long-term ✌🏽and there are a lot of great fics with great ideas out there that deserve to be presented in the very best light. YOU deserve to have your fic presented in the very best light. This just helps with that. A little.

Looking back at your aurora and sage besties comic (its one of my favorites, only being beaten by were amy and sonic being a Simp) and I've got to ask, HOW DID YOU DO SAGES GLITCHING SO FRANKEN WELL??? IT LOOKS AMAZING AND I PERSONALLY LOVE HOW THOSE GLITCHS TURN RED WHENEVER SHES ON NEFARIOUS TIMING ARVDGDBABA
YOU ARE MY FAVORITE SONIC ARTIST.
...just wanted to say and ask.
You are so kind, thank you! I'm so happy you like them!
I do a lot of experimenting in Procreate until I find a technique I like. To achieve Sage's glitch, especially if she's doing something a little more wicked so her "red" side is showing, I'll start by drawing her in her blue version and her red version:
Tumblr media
I'll select random rectangles from the red version and mask them/cut them out, so she's mostly blue but some red is showing:
Tumblr media
I'll duplicate this layer and keep a copy of the "clean version" and apply effects to the duplicate. In Procreate, I'll use the "Glitch" effect and use the “Artifact” setting and mess with it until it achieves a result I like:
Tumblr media
This may take several passes.
I duplicate the layers again, because again I always want to be able to go back if I don't like it. Then I'll play around with "chromatic aberration" under the “displacement” setting. She only needs a little for a subtle glitch effect, but if she's meant to look more menacing then I can go hardcore with it:
Tumblr media
Then, I'll turn that original "clean" layer back on and I mask out the effect layer so only parts of it are coming through. When computers glitch, normally most of the image stays in tact and only some parts are scattered/messy so that's why I only have the effect in some areas.
Tumblr media
I might even slide bits of those rectangles to the left or right. It's just a matter of playing with it until I like how it looks.
Tumblr media
I hope that explanation was easy enough to follow along!
Again, thank you so much! I'm really really happy you enjoy my art and stories 🥰 (and I'm delighted to hear you're a fan of Were!AmyXSimp!Sonic hehehe)

What people think ADHD is:
So I went to my room to grab sticky notes to leave my roommate a reminder on the dryer but then I saw my week old mug on my nightstand so I went to put it away and then when I was in the kitchen I realized there's no room for it in the cabinet and now I'm measuring the wall for shelving units.
Which, yeah, it is that. It's definitely that. But it's also this series of texts I sent to my friend this morning:

How to use highlighters effectively for study success 🖍️🖇️
Highlighting is a popular study technique, but it can often be misused, leading to cluttered notes and ineffective learning.
Choose the right highlighters
Invest in a variety of highlighters. Different colors can serve different purposes—use one color for definitions, another for key concepts, and a third for examples. This color-coding system will help you quickly identify information when reviewing.
Read first, highlight later
Before you grab your highlighter, read through the material thoroughly. This allows you to understand the context and significance of the content. Highlighting without comprehension can lead to missing critical connections between ideas.
Be selective
Less is more when it comes to highlighting. Aim to highlight only 10-20% of the text. Focus on main ideas, key terms, and essential details. If everything is highlighted, nothing stands out.
Use symbols and abbreviations
Incorporate symbols or abbreviations next to highlighted text to indicate importance or your thoughts. For example, a star could signify a crucial point, while a question mark might indicate areas you want to explore further.
Create a legend
If you’re using multiple colors or symbols, create a legend at the beginning of your notes. This visual guide will help you remember what each color or symbol represents, making your study sessions more efficient.
Review and revise
After highlighting, take time to review your notes. Summarize the highlighted sections in your own words. This reinforces your understanding and helps with retention.
Practice active engagement
Instead of passively highlighting, engage actively with the material. Ask yourself questions about the content as you highlight, and jot down answers in the margins or in a separate notebook.
Utilize digital tools
If you prefer digital studying, many apps allow you to highlight text electronically. Explore features like tagging or adding comments to enhance your study materials further.
Regularly revisit your highlights
Don’t just highlight and forget! Schedule regular review sessions to revisit your highlighted notes. This spaced repetition will solidify your understanding and improve long-term retention.
By being selective, using color strategically, and actively engaging with your material, you can transform your notes into powerful study tools.
