So how many times do you think Victim tried to commit suicide after Mitsi's death, but never actually got very far because of the fear of potentially waking up back on the PC?
And how many times do you think he was so far beyond caring that he actually did try?
And how many times do you think Agent found him before it was too late?
IMO, all three are a non-zero number.
#I think he probably wanted to “join” her at least once in those first few months and didn't see the point in continuing to live without her.#I also think that Victim probably self-harmed at least a few times because he didn't know how to cope with his emotional pain#I feel like after the attack Agent dedicated himself to Victim to an unhealthy degree in an attempt to make up for failing her#And I think that during that time Agent developed a sense for when things just felt “wrong” with Victim#Like a sudden gut feeling that something wasn't right and that he needed to go check Vic RIGHT NOW#and 9 times out of 10 something would be wrong with Vic.#Either he'd be in the midst of a horrible grief-stricken breakdown; injured from SH; catatonic to the point of not eating/drinking#or actually in danger of dying from an attempt.#Victim would have just been an utter MESS in the first few months afterwards. Completely unable to function.#The only reason Agent can function is because Victim needs him and he cannot bear the idea of letting him down.#Agent probably also helped run Rocket corp in those first few months too because Victim wasn't in any state to do it alone#and might not have even known what he was doing because acting as CEO was probably more Mitsi's job than his.#Vic seemed to be more like a designer and builder of their tech than the business side in the flashback photos.#TL;DR: Agent has been Victim's sole pillar of support ever since Mitsi's death and I think Agent would literally rather die than fail him.#He will support Victim even to his own detriment#Because Agent cannot let go of his own overwhelming guilt and grief for Mitsi any more than Victim can.#Her loss is a shackled wrapped around their necks that will never let go; nor will they ever let it let them go.#Alan Becker#Animator vs animation#ava#ava Victim#ava Agent#tw: suicide mention#tw: self harm mention#Mitsi's death fucked both Victim and Agent up so bad and you cannot tell me otherwise

thinking about how for like the first two years of obi wans apprenticeship qui gon did not give a fuck what obi wan did (or even really what happened to him) before snapping out of it and realizing he was actually very much responsible for this child and course corrected into being a helicopter parent and how obi wan always read this as mistrust instead of concern and guilt.

i saw a post the other day referencing feng xin and how it's mentioned that he's frequently in the mortal realm and it said something along the lines of "what if he was spending time searching for xie lian" and i love that and am personally 100% certain he was searching for xie lian or news of him during their time apart. HOWEVER i also got the feeling while reading tgcf that feng xin doesn't and never did give a shit about heaven. certainly not in the way xie lian or mu qing did. like yeah he takes his duties seriously and he's good at his job but i think between all the shit that comes with being a god and all of the awful prayers he has to hear he just wants to fuck off and get some peace and quiet and that's also a big reason why he's never around.
#idk i havent gotten that far in my reread yet but#i just feel like in the flashback arcs especially compared to mu qing feng xin isnt particularly dedicated to or even attempting to ascend#like especially learning about what he was up to during the first banishment it just seemed like he wanted a normal mortal future#and yes ascension isnt tied soley to cultivation. we know pei ming wasnt cultivating shit he got there through his prowess in war#im just saying him not going out of his way to try combined with certain things in the flashbacks does add to my question#maybe im completely wrong and was reading those parts with my eyes closed or asleep#and i do think he deserves godhood absolutely#i just am so curious about if he even wanted it or if it happened and he was like well this fucking sucks but okay lol#feng xin#tgcf#my dumbass

what makes minedai even sadder is that we never rlly see daigo try to build a bond with anyone else like he did with mine it rlly shows how badly it effected him like yeah he reached out to shinada in y5 but that’s rlly it and he probably would wanna leave him alone after that and not involve him in any yakuza stuff so i don’t think they would’ve hung out or anything like that afterwards. All he rlly had were saejima and majima but they were more like babysitters than anything, wish we saw more of their dynamic tho like we did with majima and daigo in dead souls since that was fun and we were lowkey robbed but in canon he’s just as lonely as he was before majimas promise to kiryu. And mine is the only person he really had a meaningful relationship with romantic or not they were still really close and we don’t see that again with daigo ever (from what i recall after y3) ok sorry for rambling LMFAO
even with shinada, he reached out to him more so out of 'duty' and trying to make up for the misfortune that befell him because of yakuza than wanting to rekindle any kind of friendship they might have had in high school (though it sounds more like they were just acquaintances if shinada needing a second to remember who daigo was is anything), so yah i doubt they really had any kind of bond afterwards
dead souls really was the only time after Y3 where we got to see daigo be more sociable with someone, but its as you say majima and saejima are more like retainers than close friends

He removed his arm abruptly, eyes fixated on the lack of a presence he had not realised had melded into the normalcy of his routine. The rim of diaphanous burgundy at the fringe of his vision glinted tauntingly from the shadows.

He shifted his gaze from his bed and surveyed the rest of his room.
A singular king bed stood starkly empty in its centre, flanked by a carved wooden desk and a single business chair. still absolutely baffled by the fact that when the untamed got popular on here you had people posting stuff like "i know it seems kind of weird and confusing for the first couple of episodes but don't worry, it picks up after that" like what the hell are you talking about. i loved the first couple of episodes. i was having the time of my life right from the opening monologue and it only got better from there.
#i love the insane drama of the opening monologue i love the fact that it drops the tragic cliff scene on you Immediately#like let's establish the fucking stakes here okay!!!!#Here are the important characters and Here is the lore you need to know.#okay now here is how this dude died and why everyone wanted to kill him. watch him die! now get to know him.#i love that you're thrust right into wwx's resurrection without a lot of context for where he is and what's going on#and what has changed during the time he's been away.#and shit gets spooky real fast in a way that i don't think the show really achieves again until yi city#bc those are moments when the audience is the most in the dark about what's happening and who's responsible.#i love that there's flashbacks but that the subtitles will fully lie to you about how much time has passed because who gives a shit#i have mixed feelings about the way the show timeline is arranged to be more chronological compared to the novel#like in some ways it works in some ways it doesn't?#but it definitely lulls you into a false sense of security about where this is all gonna end up until you remember. OH YEAH#this is gonna be a tragedy! until it isn't.

You can say anything you want about speed racer (2008) but the family aspect of it? Amazing 10/10 they are so supportive of speed like genuinely like the fact they very well could have banned everything related to cars and races after Rex’s death but no they instead decided to still support like the mom tells him she is scared but loves to watch him race because his talent takes her breath away, his dad admits and learns from his mistakes and they never let speed doubt that they support him and care about him even when they are mad and scared about his safety ,the fact he puts himself through the same rally that killed his brother to protect his family is just!! Is beautiful is amazing I love it I love this movie so much is far from perfect from the cinematic aspect but is perfect and I can’t wait to see the video of cinema therapy that I saw they made to fall in love more with it
