i feel insane

man now im just thinking about how jou has that stupid dog mascot job in the epilogue but what if kaiba doesnt KNOW its jou in there. and kaiba is having a bad day and jou is like “fine. whatever” and goes over to be silly and cheer him up and kaiba opens up to him as the mascot and jou is like Well Shit.

and in theory he could just talk and tell kaiba its him in there, but he looks like hes having a really bad day and now kaibas ranting about how mokuba refuses to listen to him about a classmate being a terrible influence, and he’s just in this dog costume nodding along. then kaiba ends up showing up again and being like “oh. its you” and accidentally starts ranting again and jou is like dude would you RELAX. but he cant SAY anything obviously so he just pats kaibas shoulder awkwardly

and then it becomes a habit for kaiba to visit that mall every time hes in the area just to see if the dog mascot is on shift; and every time they see each other normally when kaiba snaps at him, jou thinks really hard about how kaibas investors are trying to veto some of his new ideas that jou KNOWS kaiba has the capability to make well, and he just lets the insults roll off him more and eases up on the banter and kaiba is so very confused. “why are you being nice to me” and jou is SWEATING like “uhhhhh. i am tired today”

the plot twist is when kaiba starts talking to the mascot about jou. “he’s being weird lately and i don’t understand why. he’s almost tolerable now and i could see us becoming friends but i dont know how to tell him” and jou is in the costume looking like screamcat
