#extremely discouraged#I was getting help with insurance navigator person#and she was super helpful#we finished the application and I asked if there’s a way to see my info before I get my card#she asked if I want to see a doctor soon and I’m like I mean yeah but I’m waiting to start my case management#she pauses#and then tells me that the medical assistance I signed up for doesn’t include case management?????????????#lol okie dokie got it#and then she tells me all these websites and organizations I can go to file a disability#and telling me about these long applications I have to fill out#girl I can barely get out of my bed do you really think I’m able to sit down and fill out a 200 page form#seriously feel like the only option I have to actually get HELP is going to the emergency room#fun fact I almost went last night - SI thoughts were hitting me hard#but what always always stops me is the money…. my parents are already struggling#and me not working is not helping them at all#dad sent me this full time position literally at the place I’m going for day treatment and I was so confused#first of all I don’t think they’d let a patient work the front desk?? also how am I going to fit full time and this program in#especially when I barely can function and do basic shit (he doesn’t know how bad my SI thoughts were or have been but still)#I’m just bitching now I’m sorry#I need to do my laundry but now I have no energy or motivation to do anything#want to lay on the couch and through on a show and just chill there the entire day#wrapping myself up in my tortilla blankie so I’ll be a sad burrito :(#shut up rosie

Just read a post about how you shouldn’t trust a doctor who rushes you and like, yes I fully understand the frustration, so here’s what you can do to stop yourself being rushed:
-ask for a double appointment
-ask for a triple appointment
-fuck it ask for an hour long appointment if you think it’ll help
-be outright about what you want/need from an appointment. If you need more time to process information, say that. If you need the doctor to write out all information, say that. If you have a complex case/long history, say that!
-list all the reasons why you want to see the doctor/vet that day and please don’t sugar coat it. “Been vomiting” is a ten minute fix. “Been vomiting after every meal for the past two years” is not. It needs a double appointment and possibly a referral too.
Doctors and vets are overworked to fuck and exploited to hell. Help us out a little, please
#I get the frustration I really really fucking do#But I cannot stress this enough: we do not get overtime#We don’t! If you are booked in for a fifteen minute time slot and it takes 45 minutes we run late. We lose our lunch or we go home late and#We never get that time back. We already work long hours for frankly less pay than you’d expect for someone saving lives#If I run even just fifteen minutes late after one appointment it knocks on to everything and suddenly I cannot HALT#which is the acronym to encourage medical professionals to take care of themselves to reduce human error#(Basically take a break if you’re Hungry Angry Lonely/Late or Tired)#I have known other new grads who have to stay back at work unpaid for 1-2 hours every DAY#Do you know how much that wears you out?#All I’m saying is properly booked appointments are a godsend.#Also don’t sugar coat the reason for bringing a pet into the vets.#‘I want him checked over he’s old’ and ‘I want him euthanised he’s really struggling’ are two VERY different consults#I do get people’s frustrations with doctors but this website has a tendency to forget that they’re still human#If you were forced to do unpaid labour every day because you’ve got an understaffed over exploited work force you’d probably be annoyed too#And I know a lot of people are!!! But people don’t realise medical professionals are too!!!#We’re all in the hell of late stage capitalism together and that means you pay too much for a vet/doctor who does not have#The time or resources they fucking need

Day 1 of anti-depressants, don't feel amazing but also don't feel terrible. Have been feeling hungry most of the day but I was good and didn't keep snacking between meals.
Tomorrow's plan if I'm feeling alright in the morning, go to Tescos and find sleep tea that I can drink (can't drink the usual one I get bc it has valerian root in it and it might interact badly with my meds :/) and buy a tonne of fruit and healthy snacks so if I do end up snacking it's at least not all chocolate.
#doctor said I could keep taking the old meds as well if I want but on the nhs website it says that ssri and beta blockers can interact badly#the beta blocker was for the physical symptoms of what we're assuming is anxiety and it wasn't helping much#also was only taking one a day so hopefully won't get any withdrawal from stopping taking it in favour of the ssri#signed off work for a fortnight anyway so there's time to adjust#real life stuff#medication tw

Back home from the gastroenterologist's! Guess who most likely has recurrent c. diff so she needs another course of dificid and potentially a fmt!! At least my shitty ass (pun intended) insurance has to pay for 100% of my treatment since I hit my max oop in January. 😇

#blu speaks#i went to apply for accessibility services at my uni#they gave me a form for my doctor to fill about regarding what my disability is and what it affects etc#seems simple enough right#fuck no#i went to contact my family doctor and found out she retired#i went back to the accessibility office and they said i can request my medical records#and then they can look over them themselves in lieu of the form#issue is. my doctor ran her own clinic. who do i contact for my records#i went to the health centre to ask bc they probably know right?#they told me to call the physicians board#so i did.#the physicians board looked up my doctor and told me my records are with a non-profit and to contact them#i called them and they told me to request my records through the website#i went to the website and discovered it costs up to $85 + shipping and taxes to get my records#fucking hell#<- i am in canada#not the u.s.

#big ol tmi right here stop reading if you're not afan of scary medical stuff#well. potential scary medical stuff. im scared but idk what's happening#basically. the only thing that's changed in my life is that im on the depo injection right#and now (here is the tmi) every time I masturbate it's. blood. instead of the usual. like the black bits you get with a heavy period too#which i think i remember knowing is like womb skin bits. the black bits in period blood#anyway that's gross#and im scared#i looked it up and like one website said ehh you're fine that's a normal side effect and one said Go See A Doctor Immediately#so uh. yeah.#im hoping it's fine. but im gonna go to the injection appt to talk about this instead of having the injection.#i haven't spoke to anyone about it yet im hoping typing it here will kinda make it easier to say on the 19th#like ill think it's over wait a couple days ahh y'know and then after or sometimes ill notice like an hour later#ill bleed overnight and sometimes the next day again#by 'ill think its over' i mean the light-for-me periods i get on the depo#unless im supposed to have stopped entirely and the whole thing is due to the same issue idk#i don't know the signs of cancers other than breat cancer - it doesn't run in the family apparently but we are all at high risk#they were gonna do like top surgery on me as a kid just in case but they ended up not#i wish they had tbh itd save a great deal of bother#sorry anyway im big stressed and im in period-level pain and all my joints are bad again and everything#so im rambling now cs im scared#i can do injections but im very very scared of like. exams and stuff. especially this kind

why am i so stressed about a doctors appointment
#i don’t go to the doctors i don’t like them#but yesterday i got a call saying my mother wanted permission to talk to them on my behalf#and i was like okay whatever#but then the woman was like are you sure you’re okay to wait until tomorrow you don’t need help now?#and i was like no i’m fine#and she was like if you’re sure#then apparently i’ve been given a day of in person appointment today#now i know i haven’t been in a while but that seems way too quick for an appointment#especially an in person one#and i’m worried they think i’m having some sort of urgent medical emergency#and i’m not#i think i’m fine it’s my mother who’s worrying and it’s still something i could wait for anyway#so i don’t want to get there and they’re all like why the fuck did you get an emergency appointment you don’t need one#on their website it says only call if it’s urgent otherwise book through their system#and i don’t know if i’m sticking to that too much or if it’s fine#but still#it’s stressing me#(also i never received a confirmation text which is not helping the situation)#i talk and its probably something weird
