Creative Tip: "Keep it Simple, Stupid," the Importance of Personal Convenience

Lemme give you a piece of advice: no one cares how much effort you put into something, if it's not "good enough" nor "appealing enough" for their personal standards. So, if putting in the most tediously high quality effort doesn't really do squat, make things easier on yourself!

Is a character's design cool, but too much of a pain for you to constantly draw and all? Well, that "cool design" probably won't put your character on the map, but making enough and easier content of them would.

Is it a pain to draw images for your stories you post online? Well, they do say visuals can be eye-catching, but people probably aren't going to give much mind to your writing because it's "too original" (not based on something already with an audience) or they'll avoid something they don't like the written content/style of. So, just keep it to text. I mean, Harry Potter and the Fazbear Fright series seemed to do fine enough as just written words.

Over all, please don't stress yourself to where creation isn't fun any more. Sometimes, higher effort and quality just won't be appreciated; but that's okay, it just means you can make things at your own convenience-- your choice on colored/B+W, your choice on how "animated" your videos/gifs are and so on!

Remember: the best way to make your work noticed is to make too much and spread it too far around (ex: multiple social media accounts) for it to possibly be ignored, and you can't do that if it's too stressful and tedious to make content.

self-improvement should be because you want to improve your quality of life, not because you feel or think you *need* to be better in order to be loved or allowed to live. there's no end goal with self-improvement, it's easy to dig yourself a grave when you don't realize that you're not on a ticking clock to be the 'best version of yourself'. all you need to strive to do is be the version of yourself you are the most happy with. find out what values you find important, what kind of friend do you want to be, how do you want to react to things. what are things that would improve the way you go about life? what would make life easier, better and more enjoyable for you?

Here’s my take on the whole audio books vs. reading:

Oral tradition of storytelling predates written ones by millennias, and honestly, which one you like is just a personal preference.

The actual difference is

when listening, you have no idea how to write characters’ names

when reading, you have no idea how to pronounce characters’ names

I used to tell people about this revelation and they'd be like yeah.....duh.....but like, why wouldn't my base assumption be that you're communicating to me in a straightforward manner. anyway, I get scammed a lot.

a freshly cooked meal is best but fast food or a plain cracker is better than nothing. a full skincare routine is great but a splash of water and moisturiser is better than nothing. 8 hours sleep is ideal but 4 or 2 is better than nothing. cleaning the entire room is fantastic but just wiping the mirror or throwing clothes in a basket is better than nothing. a shower is great but a face and arm wash or a wipe is better than nothing. changing your bedding once a week is best but swapping just the pillows or washing only once a month is better than nothing. a 5k run is fabulous but a walk around the block or touching your toes in bed is better than nothing. being your "best self" and thriving is amazing but if you are trying and conserving the energy you have and taking baby steps every day and surviving then that is wonderful too.
