Not sure how many of you have actually had a taste of village life and the traditional age old methods found in every day life. Back in my childhood years when I used to go for summer vacation to my grandparents' home, the days used to be as carefree as ever, with nothing but playful hours. I was too small to know how to read a clock but somehow around 11am we would hear a sound - the sound of clothes being washed - the brutal act of flinging, slamming the wet cloth on the stone. Yes, stone washing. Don't know about you all, but it seems like my soul needs a thorough stonewash now - high time to get rid of all the stains accumulated over the decades...

Some people have been mistaken by what's propagated by self-help books that joy is a very exclusive goal. No, its not. There's a depth that can only be reached through pain. It is what it is no matter how much you may try to sugarcoat a lie. Pain is inevitable and equally essential for the onward drive of your life. Yes, you don't invite or inflict pain but so must you not try to evade or avoid it. When she arrives, embrace her with open arms just as much as you would embrace joy. Life itself begins with your mother undergoing through a pain that simply has no comparison only to be followed by a joy which too has no comparison.
