Why Is A Good Dental Hygiene Essential for Kids?
Instilling good dental habits in your child is vital for their growth. A healthy smile contributes significantly to overall well-being. Therefore, it’s essential for kids to grasp the importance of dental care.
Guiding children toward excellent oral health begins at home and can be an enjoyable adventure! You shouldn’t ignore or overlook it.
As a responsible parent or guardian, here’s what you need to do:
Start Early: Initiate a brushing and flossing routine as early as their first year. Demonstrate proper techniques in front of them. Emphasize the significance of these habits.
Use Fluoride Toothpaste: Use a pea-sized amount of fluoride toothpaste on a soft-bristled toothbrush. Commence flossing as soon as their teeth touch.
Regular Dental Visits: Schedule biannual pediatric dentist Modesto appointments for cleanings and exams to monitor their oral health closely.
Early Start: Begin cleaning your child’s teeth when they first appear, usually around 6 months. Use a soft cloth or toothbrush with water initially, progressing to low-fluoride toothpaste at 18 months. Brush twice daily, ensuring they spit out the toothpaste without rinsing.
Parental Support: Assist and supervise brushing and flossing until your child is around 6 years old. Flossing can be made easier with special tools, some even designed with fun patterns.
Making Dental Hygiene a Joyful Experience
Dental care doesn’t have to be mundane; it can be a delightful journey for your child:
Colorful Tools: Allow your child to pick a toothbrush with their favorite colors or characters. Personalizing the experience adds excitement.
Tasty Toothpaste: Opt for fruity flavors like strawberry or watermelon, enhancing the appeal. Some toothpaste even features beloved characters, making it visually engaging. For more information, get in touch with Pediatric Dentistry Modesto now.
Time It Right: Set a two-minute timer or play their favorite song during brushing. This makes the process more enjoyable and helps them understand the recommended brushing duration.
Reward System: Motivate your child with rewards. Avoid sugary treats; instead, offer toys or activities they love. A gold star chart, where they earn stars for each brushing session, can be a great incentive.
Be a Role Model: Practice good oral hygiene habits together. If your child is too young, brush and floss first, then help them. Creating a family routine fosters a sense of togetherness.
Educational Resources: Explore children’s books and videos about dental hygiene. These resources simplify oral care and make learning fun.
Book Your Child’s Dental Adventure Today!
Encouraging proper dental hygiene is not just a duty; it can be an exciting journey for both you and your child. Remember, your role as a parent is crucial in instilling these habits. Schedule an appointment with Modesto kids dentist today and embark on the path to a lifetime of healthy smiles!

Truly astonishing how pea brained mental illness makes you to the point that its taken 20yrs for me to realize I can just brush my teeth in the shower instead of it being a completely separate step I forget or put off 80% of the time

harry gets his wisdom teeth removed, which perplexes and terrifies draco. after recovery, harry goes into cat mode, doing one of his favorite things: nipping at draco's fingers to wake him up. he slowly wakes, only to frown and shout, horrified. "WHERE'S YOUR TEETH? I KNEW muggles don't know what they're doing!"
cat harry is toothless, no canines! healers are confused, hermione's confused, even mcgonagall's confused... the animagus form doesn't usually reflect permanent changes in the human form.
draco forbids cat harry from going out, because how is he supposed to protect himself now from danger? though, toothless cat harry is really cute...

honestly the most life changing living advice i have ever gotten from this website is to have a manual toothbrush, an automatic toothbrush, floss, and mouthwash on your bathroom counter and you should try to use at least one at least once a day. i floss more than i brush now

Take your kids to the dentists and get them the dental work they may need. It's something that will follow them their whole lives.
Once upon a time I went to the dentists office as a child and they said I probably needed braces- my teeth were Very crowded and the bottom ones were overlapping.
I was so excited-i could have straight teeth! And my adult teeth would be good! I wouldn't have to keep partial smiling!
But then when we went to the appointment to talk about Financials my mom told them, "yeah, I can't afford 80$ a month, we're Not Doing That. Then go buy 350-500$ in horse hay and feeds every month.
My teeth came in crowded. I got 'kissing cavaties' which is when there's not much space so the cavity affects 2 teeth at a time. My wisdom teeth came in and shoved the 'straighter' top out of shape. I had a hard time maintaining them cause floss wouldn't work in the too tight spaces.
And then years later I went and got my own wisdom teeth removed as an adult and I brought up that I'd have loved to had braces to avoid all of this and my mom said 'oh well they said you probably don't need it, anyways I Never told you I wouldn't pay for it'.
And now I'm here with teeth that are full of fillings, I have a fake crown thing that I convinced the dentist to make on the fly cause when he told me it'd be 3k for a replacement I started to panic and told him I have no income to do so so might as well loose a 3rd molar as an adult.
And of course I'm in The United States of Fuck-you-healthcare so it's unfortunately going to just... get worse.
Anything Healthcare related needs to be addressed, but please for the love of everything green in the world, take your kids to the dentists.

I was watching kid’s songs with my niece and it told her to brush her teeth to make them white and I kinda hated that. Some teeth are just naturally more yellow so if you can’t make them white is there not a point in brushing your teeth? I told her to brush her teeth to make them healthy but now I feel like healthy is such a broad word. Does a kid really know what being healthy does? I feel like I should’ve said like healthy and strong. I know it’s probably not that big of a deal but my grandparents, some of my uncles, and basically older family members neglected their dental health and my parents certainly didn’t help in discontinuing the poor dental health/hygiene in our family so I feel like if my niece was taught why we brush our teeth, why being healthy is important, etc. then it may help her in the future.

Ok, I don't want to like shame, guilt trip, or take away from the message of the original post. But please brush your teeth before it is too late.
My mom got all of her teeth removed when she was 25 due to rot. My dad at 35. Neither of them brushed their teeth.
I always struggled with brushing my teeth. Mint makes me vomit, which didn't exactly help. I had my front teeth removed at age 22 due to rot. I have crowns now that cost $2000. I still struggle sometimes.
I know it's hard, but it is better to do whatever you can to avoid losing them. Rinse with mouthwash. Or water and baking soda. Floss. It doesn't matter of it's morning or night, once a week, just whenever you can.
I believe in you, I know self care can be hard sometimes. But you can do it!
it's never too late to start brushing your teeth again. i basically never brushed my teeth for a whole 10 years. a decade. A DECADE. i still struggle to brush my teeth once a week, but it all started with brushing my teeth once every few months. so i mean it when i say brushing your teeth once a week, a month, a year, or even a decade, is better than nothing.
and still, nothing is not shameful. it is not immoral to struggle with self care. and it is also not pointless to keep trying. anything you can do, even if its wiping plaque off with a towel, is enough. it is good to take care of yourself however you can, even if it's just trying to muster the will to. reading this post is good, too.
i believe in you and i am proud of you, even in the smallest of steps. it's okay. you can give yourself grace.

people who think mouthwashing is about rape clearly haven't played how fish is made/the last one and then another
#scary crane rambles#dental hygiene videogame tag#just watched a back to back playthrough and. wowie zowie#its a good time all around but man it provides some much needed context to the themes that wrong organ works with#both how fish is made and its dlc seem to be very much about capitalism#like. the base game being about having discussions with people about things that heavily resemble choosing a career#and the general illusion of choice that leads to basically the same outcome either way you go#there's so many specific things i wanna talk about regarding this game.. might do an analysis post sometime soon :3#but anyways also the dlc ''the last one and then another'' is literally about absorbing other people to be ''bigger''#which seems to me like a metaphor for using other people to gain more success in life; specifically in terms of career#and all of these people seem vulnerable in some way so theres that too#AND BEFORE ANYONE BRINGS UP THAT ONE SCENE WITH THE STRING. BEFORE ANYONE SAYS ANYTHING#i think thats about how lots of people who work and have kids struggle with taking care of their kid#because they have to work to support the kid but in turn they dont have the time to actually take care of the kid#and so in a metaphorical sense work sort of eats your kid. in the sense that it eats up the time you could take to care for them#just. god i have so much to say#but tldr its just more points in my theory's favor i think LMAO#tldr pleeeease check out how fish is made. its sooooo cool and awesome#theres even a funny musical number!!!!!!!!
