My siblings and I had a cd from a local kid’s band that had a song that I think was so important to my social-emotional development as a kid. A while back I showed it to one of my friends and he cried about how he wished he had something like this as a kid to show him that being different was something that shouldn’t have to be an issue. It’s not perfect, but it’s incredibly cute and has dinosaurs so it gets extra points from me. Felt like sharing :)

Australian Children's Band: The Wiggles have touched the hearts of generations of Aussie kids and international kids alike. They have released literally hundreds of songs so I tried to narrow it down some of there most well known ones, excluding covers.

seriously though my parents were never into kids music, i just listened to what they listened to and it worked out great (especially because i was very good at tuning out or misinterpreting dirty lyrics — i thought “you oughtta know” was about making a scene and ruining each other’s dinner parties). the closest thing i remember having to actual kids’ music was the King’s Singers’ Children’s Album, narrated by Dame Judi Dench, and Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf, narrated by David Bowie
