TASTING NOTES
I was ridiculously uninspired going in. Did my best. Had the added wrinkle of the roller derby afterparty, so I played to them a bit.
My dreams of reordering my crates were wrecked by my surprise, early this week, that it was indeed Third Space Saturday week.
I had a chill set for 1-2am foundered by a drunk* that broke my concentration. Plus, I ran out of records. I don't have a problem with people coming up and saying something, like the person who came up during the ZZ Top record, and asked what mix it was! And having the Treasure Valley Roller Derby after season party in the Space was a blast! It would have been nice to know that beforehand, so I could have loaded up on some sassy and aggresive women for the mix! I apologize. They were a great crowd. They did their thing, had a good time, and I enjoyed playing to them.
Elusive Panda Buck Dave from the Dedicated Servers dropped by and said hello, so did the Real Rah-Keem.
Jules came up and requested "weird shit," like that Clipping jam that I throw in the regular set. So, I’m envisioning the 1-2 am bonus as a set for those of us who work there.
We turned the volume down, and I threw on some down tempo tracks. It's something I want to explore further.
*That drunk doesn’t know how close he came to getting destroyed by my brother in law Jeff. Seriously. He just kept pushing the nonsense, and it totally broke me. Asking me questions about the Mariners gear, and distracting me with questions about Seattle sports, and saying off the wall things like "93rd and Aurora." without elaborating on it. Jeff stepped in to wing man for me, and endured the nonsense. Like I have done many times for DJ IGA back when he occupied the booth. Jeff knows how to hang without demanding to be entertained by a person AT THEIR JOB WHO IS TRYING TO CONCENTRATE!! Well, whatever. I'm going to have to work hard to overcome things like that. Part of the gig.
Next Third Space is 15 July, 2023. I swear I will have some different jams next time.

Ahogyan nekem is adnak tippeket mások listái. Köszi mindenkinek a közös gondolkodást!

i can’t believe I'm still watching this mess: hot take on tessa and scott show- episode 3
(all of these are from messages to my canadian queen @buisnesspartners )
ok i had so many thoughts about this episode that everything is under the cut because it is so long... so strap in kids
i'm gonna start in like 10 min because im cleansing my soul by watching nathan chen and umbrellas
me switching my vpn to canadian:
— julia accidentally sent me a link to a betty crocker cooking video instead of a link to the episode—
thanks to julia i now know how to make Double Chocolate Mug Cake
honestly she was just trying to save me
ok now i’m starting
i want this recap guys voice to wake me up everyday and update me on what bullshit vm did while i was asleep
this intro... *deep sigh*
"scotts making a quick trip home to london" it starts…
"and i'm off to windsor where i'm in my third year of getting my psychology degree" yes t!! go get em!
fuck scott and his gf you are getting your education!
god i hate it but scott looks hot here
but scott don't use a normal knife for pumpkin carving you idiot! you use the use the ragged one that comes in the kit and it works better!
i'm only critiquing his pumpkin carving skills because i gotta focus on something else other than what him and cassandra are saying
scott needs to get it together
"i get like this during olympic year, i get grouchy" during just olympic year scott? i think its just you being in your mid 20’s
i can’t believe t dragged her poor friend into this
scott: *talks about how the stress is getting to him and how its real now* cassandra: “alright..."
scott looks more like death in the interviews in this episode than in the last episode
but he does not look as bad as he did in the first one
*tessa tells a cute story about seeing a cute guy and embarrassing herself* scott: *looks pissed*
scott stop being an asshole and be a good friend
stop making a big deal just because you don't like a band she likes
damn that pair skater has a rocking body though
yess tessa get this pair skater
THEIR TECHNICAL COACH IS NAMED JOHNNY JOHNS
THATS HILARIOUS
this guy is with marina??
somebody actually fucks marina??
and its a guy named johnny john...
smh marina i expected a russian body builder
these rap transitions are the only consistent good thing in this show
"fuck them" ok johnny john you have a point
"i hate it!" lol scotty
scotts lookin hot though
wait... his hotness just got ruined with that camera shot of him walking away in his oversized basketball shorts
tessa honey you look great in these interviews though
"she won't look at me" i wouldn't wanna look at you either scotty when you are acting like such a bitch
"when i was younger i had a temper" younger? yeah nah you still have it
ok but this show is def making them look worse than they are
i need to do a cleanse after this
"how are you feeling about that" lol kate trying to play therapist
FEDOR
FEDOR CALLING SCOTT SCOTTY HAHAHA
fedor: "you're trying too hard" *scott death glare*
also i could imagine russian marina looking at her son and being like "yes my darling you are my new 'footwork coach’”
"i need to blow off some steam" *goes to a place called paradise park*
CHIDDY AND SCOTT SUNGLASSES SLOWMO ENTRANCE IM CACKLING
omg patrick has a girlfriend in this one?
these producers need to get their shit together
if you're going to have fake scenes like chiddy and tessa being set up at least be consistent
*literal grown men playing with go-carts for 3 mins*
scott: "how's your girlfriend?" how are the producers this stupid that last episode they made it seem like scott was jealous of chiddy and now scotts literally asking about his girlfriend
kate: "you met the queen" ugh kate don't remind me of that terrible outfit
oh no a dinner scene with andrew and kaitlyn
"we just get along so well" lol @vm
andrew usually you are my ice dancing giant king but your hair looks so ugly in this

"do you guys ever need space" andrew: “nah"
andrew just sounds like a nonchalant guy off an snl skit or something
"team canada baby" scott literally cringes at his own line
they all wanna die
tessa's ugly panda pj's are back!!
they have literally shown the same shot of them on opposite sides of the locker room with scott in a nike shirt like 10 times
lol at them trying to do a storyline and making scott to realize he was being an ass and need to support her
*marina russian voice* : "you have chemistry"
also lol at them playing a song with the words "chemical reaction”
aw this is sweet
its so fake the making up but still sweet
i cant believe i'm an emotional bitch
scott whispering to tessa "yes" was def fake or set up or put in post production but its still fucking me up
i'm jammin to these rap transitions now
"that's a lot of passion for 13 and 15.. what were our parents thinking letting us do those things" honestly the real question scotty was why did your parents let you do carmen and it be their fav program
kate that “he he he” is real creepy
am i emotionally ready for scott abs? no
oh HEY SCOTT ABS
he needs a tan because he literally has a pale body like a vampire
but i guess living your life in an ice rink and being cold hearted to tessa can do that to a man
"i'm a sucker for suspenders" bitch me too the fuck
suspender scott was my fav
haha scott likes the pants now!
"you look so much more beautiful than me" yeah i agree but you have a gf scott

2019: A Broncospective
This was a year of waiting. Waiting for Tool. And I feel like I treated the rest of the year's music up until that point as thumb-twiddling whilst waiting for the big payoff. This year seemed to be filled with passable hold-over music. And a sense of dread as the months ticked by, that dread that comes with the unattainable expectations I've come to experience as I've grown older. Waiting for something awesome to happen, and then it happens, and it's not nearly as awesome as you hoped it to be. I've come to equate anticipation with dread now...to the point that I do my damnedest to avoid anticipation by pushing everything future out of my mind. So I live in the present now, and I feel totally unprepared every single day. Weekends come and I have no idea what's happening. I really should rethink this strategy and maybe just try not to build up my expectations. Fuck it. Either way, I was dreading the new Tool album. There's no way it could live up to a 13 year wait. Then it came. And it was good. Not redefine my life and realign my soul good, just perfect. It was what we all needed, those of us who have been waiting. One album that definitely wasn't a time-killer during the great Tool wait of nine deen was King Gizzard's 'Infest the Rats Nest.' That easily would have been my number one album this year had it not landed in the same year as Fear Innoculum. I actually had a hard time deciding which one was my number one, but in the end had to place Rat's Nest second. I know these guys have pumped out so many records in the past few years, but I was pleasantly surprised at their ability to sound like themselves while at the same time ripping out a proper metal album. The subject matter, the riffs, all of it is great. And it's accessible to non-metal folks who want to hear some tasty licks. Lastly, I listened to a lot of hardcore this year too. Unlike any other year, something about it spoke to me. I don't know if it's our current political climate or what, but the indecipherable doomy sludgly stonery spacey lyrics of the stuff I'm usually in to felt like a nondescript blob of meaninglessness (not that I care what their meaning is at any other time). But the hardcore scene felt important. Like something topical was being said (or screamed), and said hard. The sheer anger in the music, I think, reflects the way I feel on a daily basis as I'm inundated with political shit from NYT, WashPo, CNN, etc. etc. etc. News about no news, filler designed to get me pissed off about shit that's out of my control, and designed to push me over the edge when the eventual outcome of all of this outrage is just more outrage that none of the original outrage mattered at all. That feeling of not being heard, the voice of reason being smothered by a sweat stained pillow owned by some bible thumping hypocrite child fucker, is maddening. To the point that all you want to do is scream until you're heard...like Sara Connor at the chainlink fence before Judgement Day destroys the playground and melts her skin off her body. That's what some of these acts have sounded like. And it's scratching an itch. Probably not going to be my jam for an extended period of time, I don't see myself pivoting to this corner of the genre, but like a good enima, this stuff has cleared my brain's bowels for the better this year. Here's to the next chapter, the next decade, and the next Tool album in 2035. Hail Satan, Happy Holidays, and a Happy New (Wave of British Heavy Metal) Year to you all.

Artists spend an entire career and oceans of money in an effort to *shimmer.* I Wonder: shrug, yeah I shimmer so what. It’s not hard. -This, and the lines below, taken from an imagined documentary called “'I Wonder' Speaks” Somehow, despite the fact that in its initial release the recording sounds like a construction project nailed hastily in a tin lean-to (and the hammering was also included in the mix)... I Wonder: you take ecstasy and it’s not like everything drops away clean. There’s blood in there, there’s all the memory and old feelings and shit in your brain that that drugs have to sweep out and they don’t want to leave. It’s messy and I made it messy on purpose. You wanna make something really good, it’s got to feel messy even if it’s got the 90 degree bones of a skyscraper underneath. [Handclap.] It’s not hard. “When I look over my shoulder, I know who’ll be on the other side” effortlessly combines gesture, solidity, and faith in what must be the most romantic line of the decade. I Wonder: Everyone thinks writing about this stuff is hard. It’s not. “… and things’ll get trashy when we get to my place… “ presents sex as both without forethought and deeply premeditated, but, in both cases, without judgement… it’s the most erotic line of the decade. I Wonder: I’m not punning. No fucking way. And shame on your for putting me in this position. There’s some judgment for you. Any closing thoughts? I Wonder: Y’know.

MUNday Facts
I was tagged by @cupnoodle-queen and didn't see it right away, why is Tumblr's tagging system so unreliable :/ MUNday Facts:
Name: On the internet I'm mostly known as Sendell, but my real name is Claire :) Favorite drink: Tea, always tea! I must drink at least 2 litres of tea a day XD Favorite Snack: Chocolate Favorite meal: Sushi, the only thing I can eat without feeling the need to stop Favourite memory: When I became an aunt for the first time I'd say Favorite tv show: I don't watch TV, but if series are included then I'd say Game of Thrones or Doctor Who Favourite tumblr blog: as if I could chose only one 8D One random fact about you: I'm a singer, and after a few years I finally joined a new club to enjoy my hobby with others like I used to :) One random fact about your day: my day has just started, so nothing much to tell about my day, let's see what it has is stores for me :) One random fact about your job/school: I'm a civil servant and have been working at Land Registry for almost two years now. I like my job, it's so versatile! I have the most fun when I need to do research about a plot of land that dates back way before I was born! (Yep, I'm a bookworm so that's my idea of having fun :p ) One random fact about your favorite tv show: when I was younger I think I was more like Sansa Stark (yeah I know, so annoying), now I'm Arya through and through What is one thing you would sell your soul for: right now, I'd say freedom If you could only have one outfit for the rest of your life, what would it be: if I need to be properly dressed I'd say my skinny jeans, platform shoes and some fancy top. If it's to stay at home, my PJ pants and any oversized t-shirt XD What was the last song that got stuck in your head: At Last by Etta James (I'm a Jazz lover) What is your weapon of choice: love ? XD I think I'd be pretty good with a bow or a crossbow Did you have a baby blanket? Do you still have it: nope, but I had lots and lots of soft toys instead What is your favourite Halloween costume you’ve ever worn: we don't celebrate Halloween in my country, and it's a pity :( Beach or Water Park: Water Park, I'm allergic to sunlight (yep, that sucks) Name a song that you dislike: sorry for those who like that type of music, but I generally dislike rap songs ^^' What do you think is your spirit animal: My favourite animal is the red panda, but my spirit animal would live at night, so I'd say an owl, or a bat maybe What is the most played song on your MP3/MP4: right now it's probably Forevermore by Dan Stevens (Beauty and the Beast OST) Tagging @lupanaoflaminar, @atarostarling, @chocobrodreamteam and @noctisousama (if you’ve already been tagged don't mind me!)
