Story time! So in the coffee shop we bake our scones and cookies every morning (they come in frozen part-baked I'm sorry I'm cheating) and since I open it up two mornings a week it falls to me to bake the scones and cookies every Monday and Wednesday. (Those are the mornings I have to get up at 5.30 rip)

So while they're baking and I'm still half asleep I like to either make notes on fanfiction I want to write, or jot down snippets of dialogue I've thought of, or sometimes doodle. I Should be tidying around and putting out the other cakes and sandwiches for the day, but we're not open yet and the lights are dim in the kitchen and it smells amazing and I'm tired and it's nice to just take that 10 minutes to do something fandom related before I have to start the day properly.

Of course this means I'm always about 10/15 minutes behind and I tend to have to open up to customers before I've set everything up properly ehehehhh

But damn do I enjoy the fresh smell of scones and cookies while I'm writing a bit of fanfiction or doodling some fanart at stupid o'clock in the morning.

Small joys really add up don't they? 💖

thing that makes me feral is its everyone else telling Jinx who she is

her friends end up dead and she's still got their voices in her head telling her who and what she is. Silco spends the rest of his life telling her who she is to him. one city is telling her shes a terrorist and the other that she's a savior. even Isha is the one who 'adopted' Jinx, deciding that they would have a relationship—Jinx just go to decide what that looks like

I don't even have a point to this, just. the relationship with Isha and the touching her shoulders scene could both be seen as moments of growth for Jinx—people rely on her, they trust her, they believe in her, and she seems to believe it for the first time since Vi returned—but they're also just more instances of other people telling her who she should be

Idiot's (Sergei's) Name

Guys I'm such a fool I never really looked that much into Dostoyevsky when my metro fixation was huge and I just realized something - he wrote a book called The Idiot. I had to look into the book for a class I'm taking rnw so be aware I haven't read it in full. What's interesting is that I don't personally see a lot of similarities between Idiot (metro) and the protagonist of the book, however I'm gonna tell you a description of the main character from one of our assigned readings on the book and tell me who this sounds like to you.

"The Idiot by Fyodor Dostoyevsky is a novel that delves into the complex psyche of a naive and pure-hearted protagonist who struggles to navigate the corrupt and hypocritical society around him. It explores themes of innocence, love, and the destructiveness of human nature."

Anyway I thought that was cool, and potentially could tell us about what Idiot was like when he was younger? Maybe he named himself that because of the book? Maybe he saw himself in the protagonist. But from a writing perspective how cool is it to draw comparisons between Dostoyevsky's character and someone that becomes an important part of Artyom's life. Artyom's journey on a base level is pretty similar to that character.
