Let's Focus On A Toxic Ship Over A Father Who Wrecked His Family For His Selfishness
youtube
Yep, Stolitz shippers thinks it's worth it that a parent/child is wrecked in favor of said parent choosing his own selfishness. Again why should we root for them to be together if they leave a broken home. And again no matter how much the bs about Stella being abusive tries to cover for this, he still always comes to stand by Blitzo over his daughter and the series refuses to call him out and pretend he's a good dad. Seriously, I would cut him out of my life if he would do something like that. That is an inexcusable thing and again what's worse he's a hypocrite who is an abuser himself yet has the favoritism to cover it up. Again there is something wrong with cheering a father getting together with his affair at the expense of his daughter's relationship and you are mad she's not okay with it.

“Stolas is a bad parent”
“Stolas isn’t good to Via”
LITERALLY WHERE?!
Have you all forgotten this scene exists??? He stayed in an abusive marriage for almost two decades (that’s almost 20 years btw because apparently all you Stolas antis are idiots) FOR HER!
“He didn’t listen to her at Loo Loo Land!”
They literally talked and he acknowledged his mistakes and she forgave him! They’re literally both smiling and hugging at the end!
“He ignored her in Seeing Stars!”
HE WAS ON THE PHONE WITH STELLA WHO WAS YELLING ABUSE AT HIM THE ENTIRE TIME HE WAS TRYING TO MOVE HER SHIT OUT OF THE PALACE.
Instead of Octavia communicating about what day it was, she stormed off which is FINE because she’s a teenager but if she had only been like, hey dad today is the day we were supposed to go look at the stars. He would have dropped everything without question. You really think he would choose a day bonding with his daughter over Stella? Absolutely not.
He scoured a foreign city all day looking for her. Once he found out why she ran, he apologized profusely and she instantly forgave him.
And that’s it! That’s all we’ve gotten so far of their relationship so please explain how Stolas is a bad father within the context of the show.
To expect Stolas to never fuck up in anyway is crazy. He has so much of his own trauma and never had a father figure to look up to, Paimon was a piece of shit. He’s clearly trying his best and maybe his best isn’t always good enough but calling him a bad father is honestly outrageous. Calling anyone perfect is outrageous. Everyone fucks up but what proves their character is how they learn and grow from the mistakes they make and clearly Stolas is doing both of those things.
If you don’t like Stolas, whatever, that’s your prerogative (I don’t understand but it’s your life) but you can’t deny that Stolas is a good father because he is always trying to improve and grow and only good people do that.
I rest my case.
#your honor i love him#I will defend this man until the end of time#helluva boss#stolas#octavia#Stolas & Octavia#these Stolas antis really piss me off#like do you have a brain#does it allow you to think critically

Friendly reminder that Stolas was prepared to stand up for Blitz at Ozzie's. It wasn't until HE got called out and put on the spot, for HIS own insecurties and he became embarrassed of HIMSELF that he hid his face, that made Blitz (understandably) THINK it was him Stolas was embarrassed of.
Like, Blitz's entire arc regarding his relationship to Stolas is about learning to see his "humanity" (for lack of a better term, since they're demons) behind the mask he's got on thanks to his royal status, but some of y'all still judge him like he's an emotionless prince who magically has it all togther.

Literally every single person I've encountered that's called Stolas a neglectful, abusive father has been very media illiterate, or just has a small understanding of what's going on in the show. Almost as if the idea that Stolas is abusing Octavia is itself a media illiterate thing to think
But I'm sure that's just coincidence 🤷♀️

if they didn’t want me to be gay then they shouldn’t have publicly aired the 100 with octavia having frankly a silly amount of scenes where she’s covered in blood

I acknowledge I have a very blasé attitude regarding the necessity of survival cannibalism (if you gotta, you gotta, man), and I don't discount that the dark year as it is would be incredibly traumatic for wonkru at large, and octavia in particular, due to the specific circumstances at play (these weren't people who died by accident, like the ones in "the society of snow", for example).
that said, I had built up the idea of ~the dark year~ in my head so much that a part of me will always thing "... that's all?" lol. back when the season was airing I had all this vague theories about octavia being forced to implement rules about population and reproductive control that would mirror those of the ark, eventually landing in a situation that would remind her of her mother, for example. something personal and close to heart that would really, really fuck her up.
so on first watch, the flashbacks were a bit of a low point in the episode, thought that's not an issue on rewatch. the episode really does a good job of showcasing everyone's perspectives* and how it all ominously builds together into the final battle.
*this does not mean all those perspectives are created equally, and thankfully I don't think the show's attempting to say that lmao. I remember this was the episode that made me loathe kane. yes, clarke contributed to the mess by allying with mccreary and warning him of wonkru's intentions, and her actions during this season are explicitly self-centered, myopic, and unwise, but this is BY FAR the most self-aware clarke has ever been of her own hypocrisy (her expression when she tries to argue against what octavia did in the dark year as if she doesn't deeply get it...). meanwhile, kane was wrapping himself in self-righteousness and calling octavia the devil ffs. his death didn't come soon enough, if you ask me.
#then s6 comes and we're all pretending 1.) it wasn't clarke and kane who fucked up the world (let's solely blame octavia!)#2.) that clarke was Making Hard Choices For The Good of The People#instead of selfish choices for one (1) person#which i suspect people would've found easier to defend if clarke hadn't been physically abusive to madi#like. i actually remember that before 5x12 people's defense WAS ''but her daughter!!!!''#and then she goes and electrocutes madi asldñkfj#and suddenly we have to pretend that people were mad about clarke pulling something like#idk. god complex (where she was willing to sacrifice and be cruel to the few for the potential good of the many)#and hon. those are not the same. they are in fact opposites!!#but i disgress#talking to the void#my thoughts#t100 thoughts#the 100#the 100 5x11#octavia blake#clarke griffin#stacked100#antimarcuskane for ts

Stolas stans saying Octavia leaving Stolas is not development? Her realizes she doesn't have to take his shit and leaving him is development just because you hate it doesn't mean it not development. Guess Stolas stans think development is becoming a better person and growing. No. Walter White developed from high school teacher that no one respect into running a crystal meth empire. But in Octavia case she realizes she doesn't have to take her father shit anymore. Slay Queen.
Yeah, don't be sympathetic to a bum dad who keeps choosing a booty call over her.

*deep sigh*
Yeah. (TW: RAPE MENTION, SA, ABUSE APOLOGIA, VICTIM BLAMING)
This person specifically is just casually excusing and justifying abuse, they already made headcanons of Valentino having a sad storyyyy🥺 that excuses his villanyyyy🥺 and liked comments saying justifying Valentino's sexual crimes was okay because "Angel isn't innocent". It's not a surprise, it's just human behaviour and rape culture unfortunately. Shaming a victim to glorify the abuser (all based in a fanficfion where Val is a poor meow meow). And now this. Stella is justified raping, abusing and trying to murder Stolas because... he slept without clothes? (And they dont even know IF Stella was naked or not) And before you say I can't accuse someone of being an abuse apologist without a prove... themselfs made a public post saying they would be an abuser if given the chance. And they were referring to Stella. Do we need a list of Stella's crimes or is it already clear?
(Another user, not related to the one before) This person's whole argumentation is that Stolas is a prince and rich, therefore he can't be a victim, despite being a victim. Lol. We know Stolas made mistakes, I don't think Stolas's fans are the uneducated ones when your whole rant is about how someone's victimhood isnt valid 'cause their rich. Also "i hate stolas guys btww!!!" (We noticed. That's not a compliment btw).
But you know what? It's good that we're having more representation like this (a female abuser and a male victim). One because it matters, it happens and should be more talked about. Two because it reveals a LOT about some people.
Everyone’s obsession with trying to justify Stella’s behavior is sooo icky to me.
“Well why they write her like that just as a prop to make Stolas look better.”
Has it ever occurred to you through the process of making a story certain characters exist to be a foil to the main protagonists. That not all characters are meant to be sympathetic or to be sympathized with and that’s not a fault in writing.
Someone being a villain character isn’t bad writing, and not having a character entire story before a show is over and claiming how under developed a character is- well a little idiotic.
Events have to happen in a certain order in a story for it to make sense, I’m sure we’ll find out more about Stella as the show goes on.
And there is also the huge can of worms of people trying to justify Stella’s actions. Male victims of abuse are hardly ever shown. Why are you trying to make Stella seem like the good person in this?
Yes it was an arranged marriage, yes it’s fair to say Stella was unhappy about that. That does not justify Stella abusing Stolas. Guess what Stolas was never happy about the arranged marriage either. Not to mention he is literally a gay man, but he didn’t become abusive.
“Oh but he cheated on her.”
Yeah after almost two decades of being abused and in a loveless hollow marriage. That’s hardly the same as being abused. Also that’s pretty common to happen to people being abused it’s behavior of someone trying to get out of a bad situation.
Y’all keep saying there is no depth and then try and take it out the messy nature of these things.
Legitimately if Stolas was a woman and Stella a man you’d all be praising Stolas. Support male domestic abuse victims and stop justifying abusive woman.
And of course that’s not saying you can’t like Stella as a character, just stop trying to make her seem like the victim. Stop saying you love her as a character and then going “well why did they write them like this, why didn’t they write them as having a friendly relationship.” Because that’s not the story being told.
And while I’m at it I know some people hate Octavia but she’s honestly great from what we’ve seen of her. “Why does he hate her more than he loves me?” As someone who grew up around this situation in my older teen I felt that. I felt that hard, these things are complicated for all people involved.
#and i'm particularly tired of the 'stolas is not a good father' discussion. he is. not only a good father but also:#forced to be one as a teen. his daughter is a rape baby. his wife is an abuser. yet he still managed to find the strenght to deal with this#he listens to via and takes accountability. making mistakes isnt being a bad father#but it's exhausting. it's exhausting to defend a victim of multiple abuses and forced parenthood#so fuck yall i guess#octavia helluva boss#stolas#helluva boss#vivziepop

Characters who don’t know Stolas or barely do are defending him because Vivziepop doesn’t want him to face criticism and consequences for his actions.
In Seeing Stars,” Loona defends Stolas, claiming he’s trying his “best” as a father and that Octavia shouldn’t be upset because he loves her, which should be enough. However, she shouldn’t have sided with the Goetia prince since she doesn’t know him or his relationship with his daughter. Loona hasn’t even spoken a word to Stolas, so she has no reason to believe he’s a “good father” and defend his parenting.
Fizzarolli is another character who shouldn’t have defended Stolas. In "Ozzie's," he was mocking the Goetia prince’s affair and how it ruined his family. Yet, in "Oops," Fizzarolli is defending Stolas and criticizing Blitzo for being upset over his mistreatment. The jester believes Blitzo is in denial about his romantic feelings and is overreacting to how he’s being treated. Fizzarolli has no reason to defend Stolas, especially since he should be able to relate to Blitzo's situation and understand where he's coming from.
As for Verosika, she only defended Stolas because she believes they’re both “victims” of Blitzo. She bought his sob story without a second thought and sympathizes with him since she thinks they share the same “heartache.” However, if Verosika asked Blitzo about his relationship with Stolas and learned how poorly he’s been treated, then she would’ve sided with him despite her resentment.
Characters are siding with Stolas against his victims because Vivziepop hates the idea of anyone calling him out and holding him responsible for his actions.

Very interesting how when someone talks about Stella's parenting, people start talking about how awful of a parent Stolas is and then exaggerate his flaws. But the conversation isn't about Stolas, it's about Stella... almost like they want to direct the attention off of her so they can avoid discussing her abusive behavior and hold her accountable for it
What I find alarming about this is that this is a tactic that real abusers often use. When you confront them for their actions, they suddenly want to talk about all the mistakes you've made. It allows them to avoid holding themselves accountable while also gaslighting the victim into thinking they're the problem...
Stella defenders are walking red flags

Dae ignored the first half of the woman's sentence—he was talking about it, wasn't he? That was good enough. At her question, he let out a small laugh, shaking his head. "Yeah. The second man, Louis Goodall, had his tongue—uh...removed. They found it inside the mouth of a man eight victims later—Kerryn Bilal. I think somebody was trying to use the story of Echo to spook people into...I don't know. Something." When she continued, he shook his head. "I don't think law enforcement has said much," he replied, his dry tone betraying some of how he felt towards the group. "They found those letters, but I don't believe they've shared with the class, unless I've missed something." Unlikely. "The other two? Zip." He sighed, glancing up at her. "Any other questions?"
“You don’t want to talk about it, you don’t have to talk about it.” Octavia understood it was probably still an open wound that hasn’t healed, after all she didn’t know any of the people who lost their lives and there wasn’t an emotional attachment keeping her from snooping around. “I heard some thing about a tongue. Was it really found in another person’s mouth? Why’d they even start that killing spree to begin with?”
