the place reeked of death.

jolyne looks back to akane, a cocky yet lighthearted grin despite the fact she herself looked like an absolute trainwreck. "as much as i love throwing a hail mary in and goin' gung-ho on the enemy... i don't think that's gonna work for us anymore." despite the harsh reality, the young lady of the joestar family couldn't help but laugh and make the situation not as grim.

it was a piss-poor attempt, but damnit if she didn't try at least.

"... but it looks like we're gonna have to regroup with everyone else before we can come up with a strategy," jolyne speaks, breaking the silence with a little more of a serious tone this time around. "no way in hell will we take the enemy on by ourselves."

Sad news!

Guys, I recently found out that our very own and dearest Rebecah passed away. I'm tremendously thankful to her, and heartbroken for her loss; her work and dedication have always been part of my simming life. I wish the best for her family, strength and peace. I send my best wishes to them all.

While the Onion buying InfoWars is indeed extremely funny, very few of the posts I've seen commenting on the sale have mentioned that the families of the Sandy Hook victims apparently agreed to voluntarily reduce their lawsuit payout as part of a deal to ensure that the Onion would acquire InfoWars wholesale, rather than having the company broken up and auctioned off piecemeal, as the latter course could potentially have allowed some of those pieces to end up back in the hands of Alex Jones' cronies.

Like, yes, it is in fact very funny that InfoWars is now a wholly owned subsidiary of the Onion, but the real props go out to the Sandy Hook families who saw the opportunity and willingly gave up the additional millions of dollars that could have been realised by stripping InfoWars for parts in order to make that happen.

(EDIT: Fixed a sentence incorrectly suggesting that Clickhole is still affiliated with the Onion – it totally slipped my mind that they'd sold it back in 2020.)

The only acceptable trans Tim headcanon would be Tim introducing himself to the batfam as a boy from the get-go with such confidence that no one questions him. Then, his first solo case as Robin is investigating the disappearance of Jack and Janet Drake's "daughter," so he pretends to have a twin sister by forging a bunch of documents and photoshopping family pictures. He then fabricates evidence of her death, committing multiple crimes in the process, and holds a fake funeral at the end. Because if his previous name is dead to him, he's gonna kill it the Tim Drake way

2. after a long and illustrious career i am at a rooftop gala hosted in my honor. i am wearing a beautiful gown, holding a glass of red wine, standing by the railing. a scorned lover approaches and, after a passionate spat, they push me over the edge of the building. the wine glass goes flying, splattering their outfit in red as a visual metaphor for the blood on their hands. as i descend my gown flies around me like two beautiful wings, a bird in flight. a photographer on the street manages to take a photo before i hit the ground and that photo wins the pulitzer. a new york times think piece is released regarding whether or not it's moral to profit off a photo of someone's death. the think piece also wins a pulitzer.

i also think the collector would take luz's passing the hardest (given their history with it and all...) and i think she'd know this and do her best to prepare them for it. so here's me trying to deal with all that.

ah, where could she begin!?

noah had been one of the first friends lenore made during her time with the fleur la vie troupe, even though noah was much, much older than her. if she could voice it... truth be told noah was almost like the sister lenore never had. never knowing until years later that noah was the legendary vanishing quincy, lenore had even written a song about her during her years with fleur la vie.

she was terrified at the possibility that noah had been killed when the troupe fell apart, and there wasn't a day she thought of one of her dearest friends as she traveled on her own. but at the same time... as long as she didn't bury what was left of noah, much like she had to do with what remained of the troupe, then that was enough hope for her friend's survival.

perhaps the fleur la vie troupe helped nurture her passion for music and dance, but perhaps they also influenced her heart and granted her the grace of the ability to forgive. even if these were circumstances noah could never ever hope to control, lenore would still forgive her.

she was lenore's friend, after all.

Each secret society is aware of their own immediate allies and rivals, but none of them have the complete picture of how extensive the town's secret society problem is, nor do they know that every single resident is a member of at least one. Some residents are members of multiple secret societies. Some residents are unwittingly members of multiple secret societies, having mistakenly concluded that Secret Society A is Secret Society B's hidden inner circle, when in fact they're unrelated. There's at least one pair of secret societies whose leaders each believe that the other is a false front that they set up to distract their enemies. This goes on for five seasons.

we still get immediately shoved out of our immersion in tv shows or films when The Girl find a dead body and immediately shrieks - we just don't find it realistic because we're pretty confident most people would gasp rather than shriek (i.e. sharp inhale rather than sharp exhale) and it also feels unnecessarily (and predictably) misogynistic too, as men encountering corpses almost never do the same on screen

also of course please do tell us if you've actually encountered a corpse unexpectedly, because tumblr is absolutely a place where some people have done this thing and we love a good anecdote

edit: since lots of people are still responding to this (we were amazed at the huge response over a just 24 hour poll), we want to make it clearer that we were never saying "of course nobody shrieks", we were railing against how on screen, women always do in an over dramatic way, and when men do it's made fun of like they've emasculated themselves by shrieking (so it's clearly a deliberate misogynistic trope)

meanwhile of course some people do shriek, as clearly demonstrated not just by the nearly 11% in the poll, but by all the tags we got inundated with - the main responses seem to be: gasp, swear loudly, vomit, grunt or make some other kind of other inarticulate noise, and shriek
