a bit random, but i guess the common theme here is micro bangs. suitable for your vampires and darkly-inclined simmies (or whoever really). most of these were wips from last year and the way i make hairs has changed a bit since, but thought i'd still share them.

still not sure if i like render previews so i included CAS pics anyway. renders are nice looking but they don’t accurately preview how CC looks in-game and they can take a long time, at least on my PC still running on 2017 hardware. my GPU is decent but everything else, not so much. anyway...

Hey! I'm trying to use blender 4.1 and the texture never shows up when I first import the model😭 nothing on the blender forums or reddit is helping so I was wondering if you know the answer because it's so hard to make a mesh when the sim model is full on white💔💔 your cc is so nice

ty! maybe you're in solid shading mode? when you append the rig in a new project, the viewport shading is set to solid by default and it looks like this

just change it to material preview and the textures will show up. you can also change it by holding the Z key

late valentines, i suppose? this has been a wip since last year but i finally got around to finishing it this week. i ran into a few issues that i almost gave up on it but it's been so long since my last upload and i wanted to share something before February ends so here it is! i drew the scalp textures from scratch in Photoshop (using one of the braids from GT as a reference) so it took ages. it's not perfect but i quite like it, hope you do too <3

hey so i saw that you made hair using curves, but i also see that you made hairs for black people, last time I tried to make hair for black people using curves (specifically dreadlocks) i couldn't make it look correct, do you have any advice for things like dreads?

hi! i convert it to a mesh then adjust some edge loops by moving and scaling them to give it more texture. then i scale down the last edge loop to close it, add another loop or two with ctrl + r, adjust scale a bit to give it a rounded tip.

hello! hope this doesn't come across as imposing. was wondering how long it usually takes for you to finish your custom hairs depending on length and how detailed each style is with their unique strands and swatches. would you interest in recording tutorials as well? If not do you have a link to a video where you learned how to make your colors look like that. I really like how there's dimension to your pieces!

tysm! it takes me like a week or so. i get a reference pic (i have a whole Pinterest board just for that), then i draw a more simplified/stylized version of it either in Clip Studio Paint or with the annotate tool in Blender so it's easier to mesh. like with drawing, use a reference, simplify it with larger shapes first then add details later (just something i like to do). as for colors, i use gradients and i have a PSD file with just my custom swatches for easier recoloring. i honestly just took a few swatches from simomo's palette and made some adjustments to match my personal hair dye collection lol.

ik you sent a follow up ask but i will gladly provide some more tutorials that helped me!

omg hello anon! sorry if this is SUPER late

i started with frankenmeshing. the very first hair i made was a mashup of the face framing bangs from Vampires and ponytail from Get Famous, it was basic but i learned a lot!

here are some of the tutorials i followed. keep in mind that i bookmarked these videos years ago, so they're a bit old and my process has changed quite a bit since then (also i use Blender 4.1 currently)
