Hey gang, so a couple of weeks ago, I found out I have covert NPD, and since I've been learning SOOOOO much about it and myself in the process, I thought it would be funny to make an NPD creature based on my experience with it.
I ended up really liking the design I gave it and ended up giving it a whole bunch of worldbuilding, which I don't feel like explaining rn cuz it's alot SOBS.
Hope you guys enjoy the design!!
(ASPD creature is designed by my lovely wife)

ೀㅤㅤNPD subtype flags
Exclusive to those with these subtypes, transNPD dni. (Don't expect the symbols to be aligned i couldn't do ts if my life depended on it)
Made by someone with NPD don't come for me guys i'm just a girl
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Covert Narcissistic Personality Disorder
Covert NPD is a more internalized or hidden form of NPD. They are often more sensitive or self-doubtful and may put themselves down which conflicts with the 'traditional' image of a narcissist.
Viceroy butterfly to symbolize how they can be mistaken for being “normal” since they blend in more than an overt narcissist the same way viceroy butterflies get mistaken for monarchs. Green and brown to represent idfk being hidden or something.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Overt Narcissistic Personality Disorder
Overt NPD is the standard definition of a narcissist. They may overestimate their abilities compared to others and aren’t as likely to self-deprecate. You get the drill
I think you could guess why I put a peacock. Uhmmm colors cause they're eyecatching.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Antagonistic Narcissistic Personality Disorder
A subcategory of overt narcissism, antagonistic narcissists are heavily engaged with other people to ‘compete’ with them. They’re characterized by their extremely likely tendency to argue and hold grudges, as well as antagonize others.
Fox as the symbol as they're competitive/territorial animals. Blue and Yellow (Gold) to symbolize first place medals or winning. Self-indulgent.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Communal Narcissistic Personality Disorder
Communal narcissists, another subcategory of overt, believe they’re better than others because of their high moral standing. They believe they’re morally superior but often do not follow what they preach and struggle to see their own insensitivity.
Lions cause they're often see as more superior animals. Blue because it's the most popular color.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Malignant Narcissistic Personality Disorder
Malignant narcissists, share traits with overt narcissists, but tend to be significantly more malicious and aggressive towards other people. They’re more likely to struggle with laws and often show antisocial (ASPD) traits.
Symbol is a hornet cause they're typically aggressive, red cause yeah

Note
covert npd culture is having a sort of pseudo-grandiosity: not in a typical “I am the best” way but in a
“I should be the best” way
like, I know I suck, but I still want to be treated like the best >~<

people say that one of the ways narcissists abuse is love bombing, but ive seen more narcissists be the victims of love bombing than the narc abuse advocates

does anyone else have extreme trouble with backpaddeling or just feeling this urge to downplay themselves every single time something is supposed to come from myself?
everytime im stable with a decision and an opposing decision or an agreeing decision comes up, i immediately second guess and feel like i have to downplay this or change my decision because this came from ME so "yk its not that bad after all" or "im sure i just thought wrong its actually better than my brain makes me think".
yeah sure...
im so sick of saying yes but then being like "yk what, no,,, thats not my opinion, nah, its not even that bad, we can just do whatever you want its fine" after 3 years (/hyp) of pondering what the fuck i even want.
its so fucking annoying i cant even put it into words. and every single time too. i just have this urge to downplay myself, my thoughts, my opinions, my struggles, everything from myself. so i also backpaddle on a lot of stuff because suddenly im just "nah its not that bad, i swear".

people with npd. i love us. narcissist nation RISE UP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
anyway yeah jokey bits aside every single damn narcissist, you're awesome and i hope you're having a good day filled with supply.
yes that includes overt narcissists. yes that includes narcissists who manipulate others or take advantage of situations (AND ARE WORKING ON IT OR TRYING TO (i do not condone manipulation please don't kill me you tumblrinas with piss poor reading comprehension)). yes that includes narcissists who constantly brag about their achievements or cannot mask their symptoms. yes that includes narcissists who are easily angered. yes that includes narcissists who are the stereotype of narcissism. yes it includes quite literally every single narcissist and not only those who are covert, can mask or use their narcissism to fuel them to do good.
cause quite frankly, thats not the experience of every person with npd, or even the majority. yet all of us are people (or critters !! i see you therians and nonhumans <3) and deserve to get treated with as much respect and care and kindness as one another, no matter if you're trying to get better now or will in the future or don't know if you can, or if you're "one of the good ones" (ew i hate that phrase) or whatever.
yeah go and have a good day <333

Covert NPD culture is wondering why the hell people are so dumb and calling them every derogatory word under the sun mentally, only to smile at them and continue on with your day. Maybe make a few passive agressive comments later. Who knows?!

Does anyone else with covert npd see life as a competition they're constantly losing?
A while ago, I saw that a creator with npd say narcissists constantly see life as a competition while borderlines constantly see it as unsafe and I kinda see it as both? I both often feel unsafe very often and see it as a competition I'm constantly losing but I was wondering if anyone else with bpd/npd comorbidity or vulnerable/fragile/covert npd see life as a competition they're constantly losing as well?

Note
covert npd culture is the people in your life saying “you’re not a narcissist! you’re so sweet! plus you’re nothing like my abusive dad or ex who is DEFINITELY a narcissist.” it’s so infuriating. npd doesn’t equal abusive. also i literally mask most of my symptoms, even to my therapist because of the fucking stigma around this disorder (and bc i want everyone to like me bc everyone HAS to like me)
