Thoughts on The Promise part 1

So The Promise Part 1 proves to me that Zuko is too young to be Fire Lord...Why doesn’t he have a team of advisors who guide him? If they were so determined that Azula stay in the asylum (which I will get to in a later post -_-) they could have had Iroh help or introduced someone with similar experience 

Katara and Aang are kind of annoying as a couple but this may be a bias from my Azutara shipping lol 

Removing the Fire Nation citizens from the Colonies seems like a short-sighted plan, a competent Fire Lord should have seen the potential issues with it before he agreed (which his advisors could have helped with!) - Maybe his banishment means that he is the least qualified person for the job at this point in time because when would he have actually learned to lead?

Why on earth did he let the assassination attempt go so easily? Seems like there should have been at least some consequences?

I hated how quickly Aang went to accepting that he could actually need to kill Zuko and how close he came to doing it (even if it was in the Avatar State)! Like the Aang from the show couldn’t even handle the thought of killing Ozai so this feels super dissonant  to me

On a positive note, I liked that Smellerbee was calling firebenders ‘ash makers’ - Glad they didn’t have the Fire Nation magically forgiven by all of the characters we know!

Overall, this didn’t feel like the continuation of the show that anyone wanted! Would love to hear other people’s views though!

Okay consider Bruce Wayne is the very well known bankroller for the Justice League. Batman is still part of the league, but they don’t know he’s Bruce Wayne. So, due to Bruce Wayne being such a well known figure and very obviously connected to the Justice League, that has kinda made him a target for certain people which means the Justice League has decided to assign one of their members to help keep him safe. Insert notorious billionaire fighter Superman becoming the part time bodyguard of Bruce Wayne in this epic superbat romance

sometimes I feel like fics inadvertently overlook how much food the Batfamily, as a team of fully active vigilantes running on minimum sleep cycles and constantly getting into fights (and situations where they need to lift heavy items, hold onto buildings, sprint/jog) must need to consume every week.

like yes, Alfred cooks and Bruce has his smoothies but do you know how many calories they must all need just to be upright? How much protein? Add in the fact that half of them are still growing/in puberty and I just cringe thinking about how many dishes and grocery trips that must be.

Krakoan Cherik doodle

I've recently read House of X/Powers of X and spent such a long time laughing at that Charles design... Then decided he's actually kind of fun to draw. And I just had to doodle the husbands cuddling (because yes they're married c'mon). I love how Erik is basically two times wider than Charles, he serves as an armchair

(Also reading HoX/PoX gave me the idea of shipping Charles, Erik and Moira from that universe- so there might be some doodles coming of that- I loved how the boys came to her for teatime guys 😭)

Still think it's super fucked up that all the sexual assault scenes againat males in the DC universe (Nightwing, Green Arrow, etc.) are completely normalized in the comics. Like, imagine what kind of message that sent to young male readers (and even adult aged male readers) when they saw and continue to see male victims being blamed for their own assaults, writers shrugging off the assault/writing it as no big deal, the assailant getting away scotch free, never even being dubbed an assaulter because they're a woman. The male characters are never seen as victims, never asked if they're okay after being SA.

Idk, just something that always bothered me. Kinda sad even the modern comic writers never point it out or try to correct it...

sadly Arthur can't make friends with every cute woodland creature he comes across in the medieval countryside I can't believe the setting for season 5 has been out for over a month and I haven't seen a single monty python reference yet I guess I'll do it myself
