Maybe it was the fact that you came from a broken family from a young age. No, you didn't have a bad childhood, but it wasn't ideal for a young girl growing up.

It could have been the bad high school relationships, full of boys who didn't understand how to treat a young woman. Stuck at their stupid baseball games or waiting for them to finish their video game, sitting alone on their bed waiting for them to finish.

The most likely cause for your fear of love was simply the fear that no one would ever truly understand you, and therefore, never be able to love you right.

If you looked deeper, though, much further past the surface level, deep into the core, you would've realized that Spencer Reid had been there all along.

When you first joined the BAU, Spencer Reid was a typical little nerd, the glasses he wore even fulfilling the stereotype. His rambles about anything and everything were endearing, and lead you to begin your friendship with the man after he told you the history of your favorite movies.

Your friendship with the doctor grew. As you got closer, Spencer began to identify your fears and your tells. He began to understand you on a deeper level.

It began to be the same for you. You knew his likes, dislikes, fears and worries. You understood his struggles with his mother and father, how sometimes this job didn't feel like enough until he made a true difference in someone's life.

Spencer Reid and you had connected in nearly a cosmic level, and that began to scare you.

It was two and a half years after Spencer had met you when he realized he had been falling in love with you for nearly a year. His small crush had grown exponentially. After Haley Hotchner's death, you'd taken in Jack for several days while Hotch planned the funeral and began to clean the house from the murders. Jack had taken to you quickly; he'd gone as far as to call you his favorite aunt.

Seeing the level of compassion and helpfulness you had displayed for Hotch made Spencer begin to realize that your friendship was beginning to move to the next level for him.

He began to think of you night and day, wondering what you were doing, how you were doing, what your plans were. He wanted to be with you, to feel your skin, linger in your existence. It wasn't until JJ had explained to him that that feeling he felt was love that he began to understand that you were in no place for him to admit his feelings.

Spencer never meant to profile anyone unless he was working, but he found it hard to not with you. He noticed your lack of dating, how even when you had the chance, you evaded it. He noticed your disdain to the notion of true love, or love at first sight, or even soulmates. It didn't take him long to piece together that it wasn't a hatred of love, no, it was a fear of it. However, he could never understand the why of the fear.

Now, you and Spencer had met five years ago. You'd both physically changed in looks over the time, but your friendship only remained and grew passionately stronger.

After the death of Emily, and finding out she didn't really die, Spencer had you as his rock. You grieved together, to the point that for three weeks, you lived with Spencer in his apartment. After you'd left, Spencer realized that he couldn't live without you anymore.

Spencer and you sat on his couch, the cold September month made you crave an early Halloween movie. So, Spencer put on his own copy of Beetlejuice he bought a few years back. The soft glow of the lamp cast warm shadows across the room, and the faint scent of popcorn lingered in the air. You could hear the distant hum of the city outside, blending with the soft rustling of the movie’s soundtrack.

"I like Adam and Barbara," Spencer hummed as he watched the screen. "They make a really good couple."

You nodded, "I guess they do,"

Spencer's brows furrowed at your words. "You don't sound convinced."

"I don't know," You shrugged, sitting up and crossing your legs. "He's sort of controlling over her. It's just too much, she's a strong woman."

"You mean he's protective over her in the afterlife filled with dead people they didn't even knew existed?" Spencer raised a brow, turning to you. "I'm pretty sure that's relatively normal."

Turning your attention back to the screen, you replied, "I guess so,"

Spencer sighed, finally deciding to ask you the question he'd been avoiding for too many years now. "Why are you so scared of love?"

His question made you turn back to him, a confused look on your face. "What?"

"You're so pessimistic about it. You always avoid dating, talking about it, anything to even do with love." Spencer explained. "I'm just curious, why?"

"Because, there is no way love that strong exists." You concluded, folding your arms over your chest. "That's why it's all in the movies. It's fake for a reason."

Spencer nearly chuckled at your words, finding himself in disbelief. Sure, he didn't really believe in soulmates, but he definitely believed in love. "Sure love exists," Spencer said. "True love has to come from somewhere to be spoken about. It's why its so deeply rooted into art and literature. Plus, with the psychological evidence of--"

"Okay, okay," You put your hands up in mock surrender. "I believe you, Spence." You'd never cut off one of his rants before.

"This bothers you," Spencer noted, his arms mocking your previous stance as they folded over his chest. "Why does this bother you so much, what aren't you telling me?"

You let out a huff of air in reply, your defences kicking into full gear. "Why do you care so much?"

Spencer stuttered over his words, “Uh- because it clearly affects you! It’s not hard to notice your dislike of it, and I want to know.” Spencer defended. He could see it in your eyes, though. You were too good of a profiler to not know he was lying through his teeth.

“The real reason?” You sharply replied, hating that Spencer was lying.

“Because I’m in love with you,” Spencer’s voice was filled with desperation. “Here you are, constantly belittling the idea of love when that’s all I want to give to you, and I don’t understand why.”

His words cut you like a knife. You hadn’t expected him to say that, let alone feel it. It almost made you feel guilty. “No one has ever understood me, Spencer. I don’t want to settle for just anyone who will pretend for their whole life that they know me when deep down they will never be able to understand who I am, what I need.”

“You think I don’t?” Spencer challenged. He tried not to feel offended at your words, truly. Yet they hit him like a slap to the face. He felt like he understood you.

“Okay, prove it then.”

Spencer was ready for this, “Your least favorite cases involve those with divorced parents. Not because of the affect on their children, but the affect it takes on them. You hate to see when it hurts one of them, or both.” Spencer’s first claim was true, and it caught you off guard. “You hate anything with a pumpkin scent, however, you enjoy real pumpkins because of their look rather than their scent. You bite your lip, tap your foot, shake your leg, all when you feel negatively.”

“Anyone could profile that,” You weakly replied, feeling thrown off at Spencer’s careful acknowledgment of your little tells.

“Are you afraid of love because no one will ever understand you, or because you’re scared you’ll never find someone who will.” Spencer finished. Spencer often recalled his own struggles with relationships, remembering the long hours he spent studying while his peers socialized. With him being so much younger, he had no way to truly connect with them. The sense of isolation he felt growing up made him cherish the connections he built later in life, driving him to seek genuine understanding and affection. He sighs, “The past week she’s been on a business trip, and normally she works from 10pm-4am so that’s why I usually get you to come at 11pm and I get you home by 3am.” He mumbled. “Oh my fucking god. You have to tell her about this!” I shout. “I can’t do that..” he bites his lip. “Why? You love her? If you loved her you wouldn’t have done this!”

“You are as equally to blame as me y/n.” He shouts, “You knew you were married and lied to me! I had no clue Matt!! I wouldn’t have even talked to you that night if I knew you were married.” I push past him, “where are you going?” He asks, “To the store to buy cupcakes.” I sarcastically say. He tilts his head, “Home obviously!” I shout.

“If you don’t tell her when she’s back.. I will.” I hiss at him before opening the door and walking out, “y/n! It’s a long walk let me drive you.” He calls, “Fuck off.” I shout back.

I feel like such an idiot.

2 weeks later

I found her instagram. A week ago she got back from the business trip, she posted a selfie of them captioned, ‘back home with my favourite man’ he is smiling, he has no right to smile. I don’t think he’s told her as she has been posting and yesterday she posted a photo of them together captioned, ‘movie night with the hubby’ I have to tell her.

I thought about dming her on insta about it, but then I thought. I’d rather show up to their house, not to cause dramatics but just so she can hear it from me and also get Matts reaction so she knows I’m not a liar.

It’s around 4pm and I leave, I walk to their house, it’s a good half hour walk but Matt gets home from work at 5pm. At 4:35 I get there. I breathe out harshly before knocking on their front door, after about 10 seconds the lock clicks and she opens the door.

Her auburn locks tied back into a messy bun, “How can I help you?” She smiles at me, I try to fight back tears even more at how kind she is but I think it’s evident in my face that I’m upset. “Lydia?” I ask, “That’s me? Who are you?” She looks awkwardly. “I need to talk to you about Matt, it’s really urgent can I come in?” Hoping she lets me in.

“Yes of course honey, is he okay?” She opens the door and leads me to the living room. We sit on the couch and she softly smiles at me, before I can get a word out I burst into tears, “Hey don’t cry what’s wrong?” She comforts me, “I’m so sorry..” I shake my head, “what for?” She seems more concerned.

“I’m gonna explain something but please let me finish before you say anything or respond okay?” I look at her, she nods nervously. “About a month ago I was at a club with my friends, getting drinks you know all that good stuff.” I sniffle, “My friend spots a group of attractive men so we walk over and start flirting, one of them pays a lot of attention to me and buys me a drink. He was very touchy and kind and we left the club together.”

Her expression hardens as she tries to understand what I’m saying, “He took me back to his house and we.. you know. But he rushed me home before 3am.. he had given me his number and we kept talking and meeting up, always between 11pm and 3am. He made sure I was gone before half 3 the latest.”

“I had many confusions, the ring on his ring finger, the woman products in his bathroom and everything but he made sure to tell me it was for the aesthetic and for any females he brought home.” I look up at her and I think she’s putting the pieces together as she has teary eyes.

“I was convinced he was single up until 2 weeks ago when I saw the picture in his dining room, that had been face down, he tried to tell me it was old but I had accidentally broken it when I saw what it was. It was your wedding photo..” I cry, she has tears running down her face.

“Lydia I am so sorry, I never would’ve talked to him if I knew he was married.. I feel terrible and it’s all because I liked a boy.. he doesn’t deserve to be called a man after everything he’s done, I told him to tell you when you came back from your trip or I would and he still didn’t.. I’m so sorry you had to find out this way.” I rub my eyes.

“I’m a home-wrecker.” I look down with so much guilt and regret, expecting her to shout at me or hit me, I wouldn’t be mad if she did. “I believe you.” She sighs, her tear stained cheeks not ruining her beauty and kind aura.

“What’s your name?” She asks me, “Y/n..” I sniffle, “You have every right to hate me but I promise on my mother’s grave that I didn’t know..” I look at her. “I don’t hate you, I hate him though, he told me he was cleaning the shelves and dropped the image, I saw that some of my soap had been used but I didn’t bring it up to him.” She’s very strong, I would be smashing things and screaming if I was in her position.

“We should wait until he’s back and I’ll tell him you came around and pretend you left. But then you can be in here and we can confront him.. sound like a plan?” She smiles softly but I can tell her heart is broken. I nod gently.

About half hour passes and he arrives home, she greets him at the door. “Hey my love, I missed you.” I could hear him say. “Hey darling, some girl came to the door about an hour ago.. what was her name again?” She spoke, “Y/n or something?” He responds with.. “I’ve never heard of her.” He rapidly spoke I saw him walk past the living room door. He didn’t see me.

“I never asked if you did, she just told me that she met you at a bar and you guys fucked.. is that true?” Lydia asks him calmly, “She must be delusional or confused, I’ve never been to a bar since our honeymoon.” He scoffs, “oh fair enough, can you grab the cups from the living room? I forgot to grab them from earlier.” She asks him.

“Yeah sure.” His voice gets closer, he freezes when he sees me sat on the couch. “Totally delusional.” I smirk, his expression is that of fear? “I forgot to say she’s still here.” Lydia walks up behind him, “Who are you?” He asks me, his lie is obvious. I scoff, “sit down Matt.” Lydia spoke angrily.

“Y/n told me everything and it all adds up, you’re a cheater!” She shouts at him, “I’m sorry it was only once it won’t happen again!” He scrunches his face up and puts his head into his hands. “You aren’t sorry for cheating.. you’re sorry that you got caught Matt.” I hiss, “I gave you a chance to tell hen and you didn’t.”

“Fuck you.” He growls at me, “don’t speak to her like that, would you have kept it a secret if she hadn’t told me? Continued to play happy families?” Lydia ask him, “I would’ve told you eventually..” he mumbles, “Oh yeah, when we would’ve had kids and been married long enough for it to be bad for them if we split? I want you to pack up and get the fuck out of my house.” She yells.

“Please Lydia..” he begs her. “Pack up or I’ll throw all your shit out.” She yells. “We’re getting a divorce and I’m taking the house key from you.” She shakes her head as he walks out the room. I hear him stomping around upstairs like a toddler having a tantrum.

“I’m sorry that this happened.” I stand up to her, she pulls me into a hug, “I’m glad you told me because he probably would’ve done it again, I’m not gonna go to work today now. Do you want me to drive you home once he’s left?” She smiles at me, “yeah okay thank you.” I reply.

A year later

It’s been a year since the whole situation, me and Lydia still talk, their divorce finalised a few months ago. He’s gone to therapy to try and become better and I hope he does.

I’m much more cautious when meeting new men, I stalk their socials and ask them questions. Usually they tell me if they’re in a relationship or if they’re single so that’s good.

I just hope he works on himself. Because he owes it to everyone honestly. Lydia said she would like to be friends with him once she’s got his shit together but she doesn’t want to take him back and that’s so valid. He just needs to get it sorted.

im so happy i found your blog, its amazing! i am an aspiring shifter, i’m shifting to a hogwarts-related DR with the main desire to fall in love with my s/o (i love love haha) but also to just be at hogwarts, have fun, have adventures, three work at the ministry, etc - so i would like to permashift!

2. did you script others’ names for random  students at Hogwarts (like did you script that italian guy coming to Hogwarts, or did you just script that your DR plays out with interesting scenarios and drama scenarios and that is how it played out?) i feel like i remember you said you didn’t script stuff like that, i’m still reading through all of your posts so i’m so sorry if you already mentioned this!

3. did you age up to 15 years old for fourth year? did you keep the same 7 year format for hogwarts?

4. do you have another dr that follows the main harry potter x voldemort plot?

5. is there a muggle washing machine equivalent in the wizarding world? is there a laundry room where you bring all your dirty clothes in to be washed? who washes them, the house elves, or is there a way for students to do it on their own and they pick it up when it’s clean and dry? does that mean your clothes have to be labeled with your name? i feel like i remember in the sorcerer’s stone that they got crabbe and goyle’s uniforms with their names on it from the laundry or something!  

6. do students wear muggle clothing after school or on the weekends? the prisoner of azkaban was such an aesthetic because of the jeans and 90’s style clothing everyone wore after school but i would think everyone mostly wore their uniforms, even after classes are done for the day, like in the books, but i’m not sure!

7. can you only go to hogsmeade on the weekends? like if you need a quill or book for school and it’s not a hogsmeade weekend yet, would you have to get an order form and send it by owl to a shop and send over the galleons by mail and your order is delivered to you by magical mail?

{ about my Hogwarts reality }

do you have a waiting room, and if not, if you were to have one, what do you think it would look like

waaaay back in the beginning of my shifting journey, I envisioned having a waiting room that was similar to Newt Scamander's case! I created many layout sketches for it and thought about it all the time, but I've never actually shifted there yet. I also thought about having this magic suitcase include a ladder that leads to a wizarding world reality, but I didn't have one at the time so it just didn't work out. I think the idea is very fun, though! just imagine having the coziest little workshop with bowtruckles and vivarium environments to visit... it sounds so relaxing. in my version, I also envisioned a magical greenhouse with colorful tiles, a kitchen to bake whatever I want, and pathways that lead all over the workshop / vivariums!

I personally didn't script anything about how school would work in terms of people there / drama. that is just how it turned out, I guess! I think if you really wanted to, you could script the possibility for drama or different scenarios, but I wanted to see how Hogwarts social circles would play out if I didn't really script anything! and BOY IS IT CRAZY. sometimes I get so caught up in the daily events in my personal schedule, I forget that there is drama happening 24/7 with people that don't exist ANYWHERE in canon. something that was also interesting is the fact that most of my best friends do not exist in canon. I was fully expecting to only be friends with the "main characters", but shifting is real life and you can really have no idea how things like that will play out!

the 7 year format is the same at my Hogwarts, except we start our first year when we are 15 years old! so, I guess you could say it is kind of like a university / Hogwarts mix? I knew that I wanted to shift into the chamber of secrets timeline, and because I am in the same year as George and Fred, I did the math for how I could interpret my current age into entering my fourth year at Hogwarts. so everyone is aged up!

I thought about it once, but when I actually started shifting to my weasley reality, I realized that I didn't want to go through the stress of crazy (and most times traumatic) plot lines. although the harry potter canon events can be pretty interesting sometimes, actually being there and starting my class schedule gave me a bit of an existential crisis and I don't want to deal with that AND umbridge (for example!)

5. is there a muggle washing machine equivalent in the wizarding world? is there a laundry room where you bring all your dirty clothes in to be washed? who washes them, the house elves, or is there a way for students to do it on their own and they pick it up when it’s clean and dry? does that mean your clothes have to be labeled with your name?

this is such a cool question, and I was definitely very curious about this as well before I shifted! at my Hogwarts, there are multiple different ways you can get your laundry done (depending on how fast you need it cleaned etc). the most common option is through the dorm laundry basket, which is usually in the bathroom and is magically collected every evening. there is a laundry room near the Kitchens, and there are staff (wizards and house elves) that use cleaning spells to wash through the laundry baskets they collect! they then fold the clothes and the hamper re-appears in our dorms usually by the next evening. there is also a second option for students who may only have one uniform to cycle through, and that is usually through walking down to the laundry room (typically during the free hours before dinner) and washing it yourself. because the laundry staff have so many clothes to get through, this is the fastest because laundry and drying spells do not take hardly any time in the wizarding world and sometimes working at your own pace is best. IT IS AMAZING!! and yes! you can also pick up your clothes from the wash room if you so choose, but it is so much easier to just use the dorm laundry basket IT MAKES ME SO LAZY FR

6. do students wear muggle clothing after school or on the weekends? the prisoner of azkaban was such an aesthetic because of the jeans and 90’s style clothing everyone wore after school but i would think everyone mostly wore their uniforms, even after classes are done for the day, like in the books, but i’m not sure!

Hogwarts uniforms are only necessary during official school hours, so from 8/9am -- 4:30pm. also, fridays depend on the student's schedule, because sometimes professors will schedule classes on friday but they are usually a study day! the general rule is to put on your uniform if you are visiting a study hall (library, great hall resource hour, selkie commons, etc), and you can take off your uniform and change into regular clothes after school is done or on the weekends. it is pretty common to see an array of students at dinner both wearing their uniforms AND wearing everyday clothes. on the weekends, you will rarely ever see a uniform unless there is a school sanctioned trip or a class that may be meeting for an exam or something! ALSO YES THE 90s STYLE CLOTHING IS AMAZING

7. can you only go to hogsmeade on the weekends? like if you need a quill or book for school and it’s not a hogsmeade weekend yet, would you have to get an order form and send it by owl to a shop and send over the galleons by mail and your order is delivered to you by magical mail? 

something I like about my Hogwarts reality is how Hogsmeade can be visited every day if you would like to go! sometimes it can be very impractical, though, because school/clubs can get out pretty late and it is another 20-30 minute walk to the village, but many older students tend to socialize or get something to eat later in the evening. it all depends! usually that type of stuff is reserved for the weekends, though. school is very busy, but usually everyone plans their work so they can spend one day during the weekend at Hogsmeade!

8. so sorry if this is a little tmi, no need to answer if it’s uncomfortable! but as a girl, i’ve always wondered how do girls deal with their cycle while at hogwarts? is there a magical cloth pad that absorbs everything without needing to change it?

no worries! there are so so many products that are advertised in the wizarding world, but most people just stick to muggle methods because plain and simple.. the cycle sucks and we do what we've gotta do! the dorm supply closet is always supplied with necessary things, and there are also potions that can be given to you in the Hospital Wing for cramps and stomach aches.

9. did you script in that there would be magazines like Seeker Weekly that you and Ginny read? i’m so excited to be a Quibbler magazine subscriber 

I've always wanted to get my hands on a Seeker Weekly magazine, especially when I saw them for the first time in goblet of fire. so, I guess it was just my desires to read crazy wizarding magazines that solidified them in my weasley reality!! there are truly so many different forms of media to consume--- from books to radio channels to magazines. i'd definitely keep that in mind to explore when you shift!

10. did you have to study the layout and appearance of hogwarts, common rooms, the burrow, hogsmeade, diagon alley, knockturn alley, the hogwarts express, etc. before you shifted? a big part of my problem is that i feel like i need to script in everythinggg detail by detail because i suppose i don’t believe that everything will just play out

I definitely have an advantage because I was that kid in high school who was making maps of Hogwarts and stuff like that! but I definitely didn't plan out the entire school and know my whole way around before I shifted. when I try and shift (especially to a new place), I sometimes create a small pinterest board and then I focus on the place I am going to wake up. I have found that that helps me not get so overwhelmed about everything! I didn't know my way around the burrow AT ALL before shifting this summer, but I watched a small video on it and tried to shift imagining what my bedroom would look like. the rest just came with memory when I shifted! you absolutely do not need to script every single detail with your DR.. I personally think that takes out the wonder of shifting and the fact that it is real life to be explored :)

School sucks it's probably the worst part of anyone's day but Hot girls romanticize everything so life becomes more fun and enjoyable. Here are some tips and tricks for romanticizing school!

In class🖊

Do your work!! It's even cuter to be smart and attractive

If you finish your work you can read or doodle

Try and work with friends, it makes the work more fun

Listen to music! Make a playlist specifically for school (I'm not gonna link mine because it's not specifically for school it's just my music taste)

Get cute supplies, your favorite colors or ones with cute little characters on them

Notes 🧷

Highlighters and pens!! They make your work look sooo cute!!

Stickers! They also make your notes look more aesthetic and adorable

Practice handwriting, PLEASE omg my hand writing is so bad I have to practice too but your notes will look so cute

Look up borders on Pinterest and use those on your paper they look so cool fr

Organize your notes, weather it's boxes, bullet lists or lines. It just makes it look neater

Social stuff 🖌

Stay out of drama!! It's not cute!!

Use manners and be polite at all times, no body likes someone with an ugly personality. And if they do that's someone you should satay away from

Have good relationships with teachers, say hi and smile to them, it could make a worlds difference!

Have a positive attitude, not everybody is terrible!

Find a club you enjoy, it's easier to make friends with people who have similar hobbies!

Keep your head up high, I know it's scary but you'll look more approachable

Pretend you are your favorite character, act like them

If you don't have friends sit near people you think are cool, they might end up talking with you!

I fell like og engie felt he was weird compared to his peers as a child, so put that feeling on a girl. as a person who grew as the "weird girl" in every school, I can confirm that being a, not anymore, girl with scientific interests and "unfemminine" manners and hobbies, her childhood was NOT easy. she must have likely always felt like a stranger, even in a room full of people who knew her because they DIDN'T KNOW her true self. she would hide her ideas and inventions because she thought they would all be scared of her, and she probably wasn't wrong. so, mental isolation soon became physical. getting older, her inventions were her only friends, and if she wasn't a bit crazy by nature, she definitely became so by never interacting with other people. when she was employed at RED, she finally felt complete in a group of weirdos who never judged her because they were as weird as her. cause of her isolating manners she'd forget basic human needs like sleep and food, so she doesn't have the best routine and health, just enough will to live to get through a 3 day long work session on a project without dropping dead. she DID cut her arm of for gunslinger. she kinda washes her hair..? let's just say she cleans them with dry shampoo without unbraiding them... she think at least once a day to just cut everything off and get a buzz cut, but she knows she'll feel bad for chopping the braids off. those are the only aesthetic things she cares about. I feel I don't need to specify the inexistential need to shave in the gravel war, so she doesn't, half of the merc don't shave so who cares. she has muscles on her upper body, so strong arms and shoulders. after going through A LOT of self doubt and need of validation from others when younger, she is actually really happy about herself and not ashamed of being her true self anymore. and last but not least, she says she's a cow girl, but actually she's a horse girl. she loves horses so much you have no idea.

heavy - if the og maikail is shorted in Misha, the name shorted in Masha is actually Maria, so she'd be Maria, called Masha. the og protective nature would become very nurturing, always caring about the well-being of the others. being the only girl in her family brought her to feel responsible for them, so she has a lot of proficiency in numerous house caring abilities, not only cooking or cleaning. she knows how to repair a wall, how to chop down trees for the fire, how to cook on an open flame, how to butcher nearly every common wild animal, and she sew amazing outfits for the whole team. before RED she used to make only practical clothes, but after meeting spy and pyro, she learned to embrace her creativity. in battle, she's a force of nature with her miniguns, whose still have femminile name, and she takes care of them like one would do with dolls. but it's miniguns. she likes the felling of the ubercharge but at the same time the concept of invulnerability scares her in a profound way. she KNOWS what to much power can lead to. she likes to read with spy, have deep philosophical conversations with medic, have fun with soldier and demo, cook with scout (for normal meals) and engie (when they do BBQ), sew with pyro and finally, stay in complete silence with sniper, the only one who knows how to shut up after a long day. she has a buzz cut, but she wears a bandana as a headscarf. it's the only femminine thing she cares about, for the rest, the outfit is the same, maybe only longer sleeves, but that just because I like it, no specific motive.

demo - i dont really have much idea about her, but i think the pressure of her 3 jobs would bring out an unserious personality as a coping mechanism. she's an alcoholic and trying to keep up with her WILL bring you comatose, but she makes sure that doesn't happen. she may not be responsible for herself, put she's really cautious when others around here are drinking. she's the one that holds your hair when you vomit and pats your back. she treats everyone's hangovers, but also she's the one that brought the bottles in the first place. she wants everyone to have fun but she doesn't wish on everyone her situation.

Random headcanons I made for HSS characters because they seem like they fit + I feel silly (these are very long and might go into essay length territory)(also ongoing as HSS is my obsession):

✧˚ Michael Harrison is a passenger princess. At least with my MC Solrin. I mean c'mon, he may have a car- but he's born to be on a motorcycle, he doesn't know how to drive a car for shit, he's the biggest passenger princess ever and my MC has a cute little pink tiara taped to the top of 'his' headrest, as a tease since he barely drives and always calls shotgun.

✧˚ Caleb likes to match clothes with his SO. Even if his SO is wearing the prettiest princess like dress or are wearing plaid with stripes with loafers on- he's matching them. Always. Even accessories, he just likes matching.

✧˚ Scott, the man, the legend, the dad himself- he is fucking loaded with cash. He is RICH. His train models are so good they bring in FARRR too much money to deal with. Hence why his daughter Solrin casually has a vintage 1963 dodge dart with customisation in 2018. HOWEVER, he likes to keep his daughter humble so they own a basic suburban house and he made his daughter get a job for her own money.

✧˚ Maria wakes up to cats on her every morning. Since she owns 2 cats now after adoption, they're heavily attached to her and sleep on her when it's bed time. Sometimes they do biscuits on her stomach and lay all their weight on her chest in the middle of the night which wakes her up because she can't breathe and also it's a weird sensation. She also definitely has cat hair on her socks sometimes.

✧˚ Aiden definitely sorts his clothing in his closet or clothes drawer via random things such as colour, texture, if it has print, and also what type of clothing it is. I just feel like he does, however he'll just throw his shoes in the fucking abyss when he gets home and will just know where it is. Which is why he hates it when his room gets cleaned because his shoes, despite being wherever, are usually always put in the same messy spot so he knows where it is- so when his room is cleaned he doesn't know where his bunny slippers are. #me

✧˚ Emma has a large pain tolerance but her tolerance with foods of weird textures and strong flavours are very low. She could break her leg and be fine, but if she has spicy octopus on her plate she's going to either cry or refuse to eat that shit at all. Which is a pain for Julia, but I mean Emma can't help it- some food is weird and she doesn't vibe with it. #me

✧˚ Michael is fucking terrified of thunder and lightning, to the point he quivers at seeing dark grey clouds. The loud sounds get to him, and he hates it. He has to cuddle his doggie Rollie in his bed and blast music through his headphones to get through them.

✧˚ Caleb takes it personally when he doesn't get to hug anybody. He's a cuddle bug, he loves his friends and his LI, so being denied a hug from anyone when they do something good like ace a test makes him sad.

✧˚ Sydney once stared at a kaleidoscope for an hour straight when she was in the nurses office because she hurt herself during cheer practice, and the school nurse didn't even need to do anything like talk to her or anything, other than patching her up, Sydney remained silent and staring at the glorious colourful light.

✧˚ Morgan was 'obsessed' with Joan Of Arc, Gretchen from Mean Girls, and most of the main girls in most kids shows in middle school, and this was before she knew what the term "Lesbian" meant.

✧˚ during freshmen year, Maria was obsessed with the business casual aesthetic so much, she wore full on blazers and button ups and looked super duper professional. Until everyone in her year had to remind her that this was freshmen year and she could dress up like a cat girl and no one would care.

Maki has one of those funny backpacks in bright colors, a ton of pockets and a couple transparent windows to put fandom stuff into. Which she does! She always has some fandom/manga/cartoon merch showing off in there, as well as as many keychains as possible. Unfortunately at some point people at Miyaji got annoyed with her colourful backpack and told her to "clean it up", so no more merch at school. Boo. She still has it and puts it back on after school for her commute, but it's more lame this way.

She also has a "surprisingly normal" phone case & no stickers, but puts a morbid amount of those on her violin case. You'd expect Karin to protest that but she actually doesn't really care. "A case is just a case, as long as you don't put those on the actual instrument."

Karin herself has one of these leather satchel bags that look very fancy but don't really hold much, like this:

It's dark blue in color and is in the same condition it was on buying. Karin never customises anything because that would ruin her Serious Image, you see. As well as having just a default phone background. The only thing she even bothered customising is adding a profile picture on Nightcord & most group chats, because everyone deserves to see her pretty face.

Kairi has something similar except his shoulder bag is a little bigger and less pretentious, big enough to fit his laptop. He also never customises stuff, but more out of having nothing to say than dislike of doing so. His laptop has a ton of stickers on it, though; mostly just aesthetic photos or paintings. You know that one girl whose laptop is covered in Van Gogh stickers? Kairi's the one. He also is the only one of the group to not carry an instrument case, so whenever they're traveling as a group, his nice bag helps him create an illusion of Hey I'm Doing Something (he only carries his music). His phone background? Kitty. Default profile picture everywhere. He's not even here.

Suzuka probably has one of the brand, 16' or more backpacks, because she's an overpacker and needs to have Everything with her. It almost looks like her backpack is bigger than she is. If you look close enough, you can notice she has a couple supposedly matching keychains on there (nobody from the group matches though?), but nothing outright eye-catching. Just like, normal stuff. It's what's inside that matters, because aside from textbooks she has a fully stuffed first aid kit, weekly amount of snacks, unfinished crochet project & spare clothes. Why is she like this. She will literally never use those. And how is she strong enough to carry that thing. She also never lets anyone see her phone picture. Look Away please!!

Akari has one of those black "urban backpacks" with a roll-top that looks like It's Seen Stuff, and it has indeed seen stuff. It's covered in scratches, cat fur, tears and washed out spots. Akari doesn't care much because it does its role well enough & she things it's cute, but Reishi tries to convince her to get a new one on weekly. Hasn't changed her profile picture since middle school anywhere. Her phone background is a picture of her and Megumi, thought you'd not be able to tell right off the bat (blurry!)

Reishi himself has a normal, minimalist canvas backpack, something neutral in color. It has a couple key chains, like a treble clef on a chain, but nothing else of note. Just completely neutral stuff that doesn't stand out. It looks neat and tidy but is also noticeably not new; there are some repairs here and there if you look close enough. He has a flute case that is lovingly nicknamed The Noodle by Maki, because like, look at this thing.

Why is it so long. Deeply unserious behaviour as far as Maki's concerned. His phone background is a photo of a sunset he took himself, but he has no profile picture anywhere.

So I've been replaying "Unpacking" again, and I feel like writing down my thoughts on the game, but mostly about what I like to call the "Boyfriend level". There will be spoilers for the game in this, so I will continue below the cut, and please play this game if you have the chance.

Okay, so, as many of you know, Unpacking is about you taking on the role of a girl growing up and moving house throughout her life, unpacking her belongings and filling the new space with them. And as you go, you learn more and more about our MC. Starting with her childhood bedroom, then her going to college to study illustration, and then her moving in with her roommates, who are all nerds just like her.

And then, we get to the infamous boyfriend. And even playing this for the first time, the space felt... off. Before, our MC lived in places that were filled with personal touches, colours and trinkets. The BF's place is mostly grey, hyper-modern. Of course, there are personal touches, and hints at his hobbies, like the coffee-making supplies and the collection of videogames. But it feels.. off. The things that our MC brings to this house clash with the obvious aesthetic this guy has.

Now, aesthetics aside, there is something else that made me feel frustrated and a little uncomfortable about this level. Something that many people who played this game probably noticed too, and something very familiar to those of us who date cishet men.

This man hasn't even made space for you in the house.

Like yeah, sure, there is enough room for you to put your stuff away, but many things are placed in such a way that you're forced to move things aside to make space. Like the drawers in the bedroom. Lord almighty, the drawers. Underwear and socks are strewn around inside, forcing you to rearrange it so you can put your own damn stuff in. You even need to move his clothes and damn SLIPPERS in order to put everything away neatly.

Same as the kitchen. Dude, you have more than enough cabinet space, use it?? Put your coffee supplies in one place, not all around the kitchen, and why the fuck are you using a whole drawer for two tools??

It is frustratingly familiar, mostly because the game is about you doing all the unpacking and rearranging yourself. You are already cleaning up after this man, and you haven't even fully moved in yet.

On top of that, while moving in of course means you'll have to put many of your belongings amongst his, you can't even hang up your diploma in a proper place. I mean, yeah, with the "place objects everywhere" option you could hang it in the bathroom, but you should be able to at least hang something you're proud of in the living space or the bedroom. Your drawing supplies need to be tucked away too, or lost in his things.

No wonder this girl moves back out not even two years later.

And the "moving back in with your parents" level is just.. heartbreaking. The music is sad, and you can feel the depression just oozing from this level. The photo of the boyfriend and MC has to either be hidden away or pinned to the corkboard with one pin through his face.

Luckily, the next level where she gets her very own apartment fills me with joy. Finally, there is a space you can fully embrace as your own, not a student flat you can't permanently stay in, or a place you share with others. Every room is yours to make your own, especially the studio.

And then, the girlfriend moves in.

And it's so different from when the MC moved in with her boyfriend. She's made space for her new partner, made room in the closet, and space on the bookshelves. And instead of clashing, the gf's things complement the home and tell who she is.

She graduated from some type of film school. She adores plants and cares for them a lot. She's Southern or Eastern Asian, or even a mix of both, judging from the dragon statue, the spices, and the cute tiger plush she clearly got to compliment the little piglet, either as a gift or something she got herself. There are books and a beautiful blanket in the moving boxes, and she just feels... safe.

Where I could picture the MC tiptoeing around the boyfriend's aesthetic, doing all of this unpacking by herself, the girlfriend feels like she's unpacking with us, bringing warmth and non-judgement along, making the apartment a home.

And what an ending. An actual house where both of them can be happy, where they can be who they want to be, and where their bundle of joy will be raised with love.

I love this game so much.

Building my aesthetic using astrology

Ok so as yall may know I recently found out i had the wrong birth time in my chart this entire time and in return not only did i find out im a cancer rising but all my placements are so different🥲. So what I plan on using is my natal chart, my venus pc chart, my ascendant chart and a few beauty asteroids and possibly those asteroid pc charts to officially curate my aesthetic (or at the very least start).

Brainstorming

Ok so first, when it comes to building an aestehtic u gotta have some kinda idea of whatever it is that you want. For me I've always been attracted to clothes that I'd normally see popular girls wear or like the new protagonist popular girl type of outfits aka pretty girl clothes. I love the soft girly flair looks. However on the flipside I also love like emo gothy punk dark girl looks such as Megan fox looks or like the hot villian or the "dark hair, light eyes" girl. The concept I really tend to be attracted to is like good girl looks to good girl gone bad kinda vibes or dreamy girl vibes like when u walk in school and the new girl is there and it looks like she has a whole halo around her. A few fashion inspos I have are yasmin from bratz clothes, 2000s popular/new girl looks, Cady looks from mean girls when regina and the girls transformed her to be a total hottie and she became like the new it girl of the school but with that being said regina george looks I love too!, recently I've been so attracted to gyaru looks!! Specifically kogal gyaru and the makeup, video vixen looks literally from the tan skin to dark eye makeup omg, nicki minaj no frauds era looks and pinkprint looks (I absolutely adored her natural era it's my fav one but coming in second is definitely her nicki lewinsky era!!), flora from Winx is also someone I adore fashion wise and personality wise. Rihanna is also an inspo while I do love her bad girl era especially when it was first starting out I always find myself feeling such a pull to when she had her good girl looks (before Chris brown knocked her top off basically), beyonce 2000s looks!!! I swear I want her look book so bad she looked so luxe and rich omg (her upgrade you video, diva video, Deja vu video and best thing I never had video are all concepts of looks and aesthetics I loved), Holly Madison 2000s looks and bimbocore looks!! Ascendant - Cancer 14° (Taurus degree): so I'm ngl me having a water rising doesn't 100% surprise me after all I felt I related more to a Scorpio BUT that's not the point. Anyway, cancer to me gives me like softcore angelic vibes. So like silks, pearls, baby blue, white, pastels. All those remind me of cancer. Having some taurus influence I also get romantic vibes, rich girl vibes since taurus is ruled by venus, soft pink and/or greens. I'm getting soft romantic vibes from this and angelcore or soft baddie

Sun - Virgo 17° 3H: ok so automatically clean girl, with the leo degree influence maybe clean popular girl. However it being in 3H which is Gemini ruled somehow I see patterns like stripes, animal prints, checker print, electric colors, etc.

Ascendant - pisces 10°: pisces to me already has like a whimsical, dreamy feel to them anyway such as flowy dresses, shimmer, ruffles..and with that capricorn influence giving it an old money influence and having Uranus and North node in 1H and Uranus rules eccentricity (but mine is in retrograde so idk) I'd say think like Cher when she was younger she looked certain dreamy but also very rich like she comes from money

Ascendant - Scorpio 1° (Aries degree): I am DEFINITELY getting dark feminine, sex symbol look here. And then mars being in 8H and pluto in 2H yes I can see it my mind instantly went to Megan fox, girl in a red dress (which ironically red look bloody good on me)

Aphrodite in Scorpio 26° 1H - still getting dark feminine with a touch of venus influence however for whatever reason it reminds me of when shalom Harlow wore that satin black dress or the saying "she's a Rockstar trapped in a supermodel body" yea that😭. P.s what yall solar return charts looking like I looked at mine today and I have scorpio rising and pluto 6H which all deals with transformations sooo I'm thinking if making a separate post on that to analyze my solar return chart and see how my year will go..or ilk get a tarot reading but idk rn
