One of my favorite little things in superbat fanfics is when Clark is fully expecting to have to pull affection out of Bruce like he’s pulling teeth only to come to the conclusion that Bruce’s love language is physical touch.

Like Clark 100% is expecting to have to basically bombard Bruce with his love but it lowkey ends up the other way around.

Like Clark is standing in a sun spot in the manor. Eyes closed just soaking up all the suns energy and he feels Bruce’s arms rap around his waist and lays his head in between Clark’s shoulder blades, and Clark melts

Clark is talking to Alfred in the kitchen early in the morning and is leaning up against the counter and he hears Bruce’s heart beat before he walks in, and Bruce puts his hand in Clark’s back pocket “16 Candles” style and kisses his cheek and nuzzles his head in Clark’s neck for a few seconds before going to sit down for breakfast. Clark falls a little more and Alfred just looks at them with so much pride and joy because his son is finally happy

Bruce comes back home after a really rough day from W.E.. He walks into the manor and sees Clark lounging on the couch reading and just collapses onto him and hides in Clark’s chest because he can finally let go of the Brucie persona when he’s in Clark’s arms.

And Clark is so grateful because he knows how hard it is for Bruce to feel safe enough to be vulnerable and he’s so happy that Bruce loves and trusts him so much that he feels he can do it so easily and oh my god someone please stop me I’m actually gonna cry😭

Imagine if one of Bruce’s kids got hurt during a mission and needs surgery, so Bruce is anxiously waiting outside the operating room, and when Clark appears he can’t help but cling onto him because his kid, Kal, his kid—

Once Clark tells Batkids that if they need a safe space or some comfort, then they can come and visit his farm — he'll do his best to provide some help or support.

And he means it.

However, he is pretty sure that they will rarely use this advice of his. They are Batkids, after all! Independent and uncommunicative at the most.

Well.

Turns out he was wrong.

Damian and Dick are frequent quests in his farm, anyway — Damian hangs out with Jon, always appearing out of nowhere, and Dick visits them here and there — so it takes Clark some time to notice that others are here, too.

Tim starts joining them on occasions first. Mostly with Kon by his side, but he still steals sweets from the countertop that they hide from Jon, and Clark just... smiles. Okay. It is cute. Kon is a part of the family, and he is clearly in a good relationship with Tim. It is not bad at all.

...Until, Cass randomly appears in his study room out of nowhere, scaring the shit out of him, telling that she needed a quiet place to read the book.

And then Lois almost gets a heart attack when she wakes up in the middle of the night to drink water and bumps on Duke and his magnificent glowing eyes, because... Because Duke munches their cereals in four am???

(He was nearby after some mission. Was lazy to go to the safehouse. Whatever.)

Clark finds Stephanie sleeping with his sheep, caged in her hug later that week. When he returns home to tell Lois about it, he finds out that... She stress-bakes with Red Hood himself, while they both loudly shit on the Batfamily for different reasons (but mostly it is about Bruce, of course).

Alfred calls him a few hours later, asking to send the kids home for dinner.

Clark thinks that maybe — just maybe — moving out is not a bad idea, after all!

i am unironically obsessed with adam west batman not only trying to be a good dad to robin, but actually succeeding. also love robin's insane energy levels and his ability to go from seething bloodlust to manic glee in record time. i think any superman worth his S would fit right into the family ^_^

Oh my God! Yes! 👏

I love the idea of Bruce being super protective and meticulous when it comes to his suit. Because although it’s really fucking durable and basically its own weapon, the suit is also really really delicate because of the sheer complexity of it. There’s so many little components and pieces that, when not put together properly, can make the suit unwieldy and inefficient; there’s also a bunch of weapons, tools, and dangerous equipment hidden in there, so if you don’t know what you’re doing there’s a really high chance that you could hurt yourself trying to put it on. It’s fitted to his proportions, too, so just by attempting to put it on, someone could accidentally stab themselves with that batarang in the hidden pocket by his thigh or lose circulation to their left arm because Bruce keeps that area tightened for grappling-related reasons.

But on top of all of the safety reasons, Bruce’s suit is special because it’s his. Sure, it’s been through like eighty million upgrades, but to him it’s still the same suit that he wore that first night out in Gotham. It’s nostalgic. And similarly to how someone wouldn’t like their siblings/parents/friends/etc., stealing their shit and doing whatever they want with it, Bruce gets fucking mean when people try and mess with his suit.

He’ll tolerate his kids climbing around on it, but the minute they try to play with the straps or touch his utility belt, they’re done; and god forbid a leaguer try to prank him by messing with his armor… Batman will legitimate go on a reign of terror.

But with Clark? It’s… different.

Clark is the most powerful being in the world, but he’s also kind and silly and a little awkward, and above all that he’s a really, really good person. Bruce trusts him, in a way that’s different from the way he trusts the other Leaguers (they’re more his colleagues and underlings) and his kids (he will always, always prioritize their safety despite how much he trusts them).

So it makes sense that he’d entrust Clark with information about his suit. Because he trusts that Clark would never use that information against him, trusts that Clark won’t abuse that power, trusts that Clark respects what Bruce’s cowl means to him and that he’ll honor it with the upmost respect.

And he’s entirely correct. Clark treats the suit with reverence whenever he has to change Bruce into it or help him out of it for medical reasons, etc.. Not only because he understands the gravity of what that type of show of trust means to Bruce, but also because that suit is the last line of defense between Bruce, a mortal, and the hundreds of aliens/gods/metas consistently trying to kill his best friend… So, yeah, he appreciates that suit, and he’ll do his damnest to make sure he knows everything about it

You know how Superman can super-change into his outfits? Do you think that if they’re in a rush, Bruce taught him all the ins and outs of the batsuit so he can change them both at super speed? Like no matter how fast that guy has taught himself how to get in and out of that thing (because you know he has) sometimes it has to be literally instant.

It’s like an insane show of trust, not many people know all the little tiny details that get updated every few months, the close batfamily might know how to take of pieces in case of emergency and the exact contents and placements of his belt, but Clark has a lot of hands on experience and the symbolism of him putting Bruce’s cowl on for him is neat too.

I bet Clark Kent is big on hand kisses. And Bruce loves it.

Like it probably started out as a joke—maybe a cute little callback to Bruce’s royal ancestry, or because Clark had seen Bruce do it to the ladies at a gala and wanted to treat his similarly aristocratic lover correspondingly. Either way, it somehow became Clark’s #1 Favriote Form of Affection because he can do it anytime.

Not allowed to kiss in the JL meeting? Whelp, B never said that Clark can’t take his hand and give him a lil peck through the glove. (B might grumble but he can’t change his rules without looking like a hypocrite.)

Hasn’t finished his coffee, and is still too grouchy for a kiss before Clark leaves for work? Hand kisses for the win. It makes the kids giggle and Bruce’s palms are always warm from his mug—and Bruce usually isn’t verbal in the morning so it’s not like he can complain.

At a gala, when they’re out as Brucie and Clark Kent? Hand kissing is the perfect way to show affection without the allowing the tabloids the opportunity to peer too far into their personal life.

And you know Bruce grumbles and complains and pulls his hand away sometimes because he is not in the mood, Clark… but it still makes him loved.

I love Bruce and Alfred’s relationship so much. I love how much Alfred loves and cares for Bruce because sometimes it feels like he’s the only one that does.

I was just reading a superbat fic where Bruce gets hurt and Clark is talking to Alfred about how to care for him, and how to get Bruce to trust him and I kinda wish people played into Bruce’s separation anxiety, a little bit more. And I know that it sucks that he has separation anxiety, but it can be used in a cute way between Bruce and Alfred.

Since Bruce was a kid, he always wanted to be around Alfred. Alfred was his only friend for the majority of his life and he didn’t wanna be away from him and I think we should take that into adult hood.

Obviously, it has calm down in his adult life especially because he left Gotham for years, but I think it should still be there in small ways that most of the Batfam and Clark don’t pick up on.

Like Bruce not being able to go out and patrol, but is strong enough to wander the manor. So he just follows Alfred around as he does his daily duties, they talk here and there and Bruce helps Alfred anywhere the man will allow. But he mainly just stays in his vicinity watching over him.

Bruce just kind of needing to know where Alfred is at all times. Waking up and immediately going to the kitchen and not seeing Alfred there so he goes searching for him. Half asleep just wondering the halls, Alfred finds him looking for something..

“Master Bruce? May I inquire what you are looking for?” and Bruce turns around, looks at him and visibly relaxes. He doesn’t say anything he just grunts and walks back towards the kitchen and Alfred follows with a small smile.

Bruce gets de-aged into a 8 year old. Is freshly traumatized and he doesn’t want anyone but Alfred. He runs from all the kids and Clark, and doesn’t trust anyone but the butler.

He doesn’t speak at all, and just clings to Alfred’s leg and flinches from anything and everyone. He doesn’t want to sleep by himself in what he knows to be his parent’s room. So he sleeps with Alfred in the butlers quarters.

Everyone is between fawning over how cute Bruce and Alfred’s relationship is, and on the verge of tears every time he flinches away from them. Only to fawn again as they watch Bruce allowing Alfred to scoop him up and hide in his neck.
