Hii i love your writing <33 could you do headcanons for a child of zeus? l always wondered what it would be like for a child of zeus to be in camp half blood. Maybe they went to the same school as percy and grover brought them back too? How would her getting claimed by zeus change the situation between gods in the first book and stuff(lightning theif) specially since the prophecy said 1 of the kids of the big three wpuld overthrow the gods when they turned 16. Would hera be mad at them and send mosters after them since they're a byproduct of zeuses infidelity ? Thanks in advance ♡
If you’re just talking about being a child of Zeus, I have the headcanons already written in the Major Demigods H/C’s. I already have my own thoughts written about it there.
Though, you’re talking about stuff as if the daughter of Zeus being in the main storyline. Well dear anon, let me first warn you that this is not going to be as cool and as great as it you might think it will lead to be. There’s a reason only why Thalia is there and being a child of Zeus is already a set-up for having a hard life. Not necessary a happy story with a good ending either. That just makes it worse. [Disclaimer: massive text wall below]
First addressing the daughter of Zeus being a daughter of Zeus. Hera is already historically going to do something and take out her anger at Zeus’s infidelity again at the daughter of Zeus and her mother.
What’s worse is that this daughter of Zeus would be the second or worse third time Zeus has broken the Oath the Big Three swore after WW2; since depending when, the daughter would be born right after Thalia or around the same time as Jason.
So not just Hera, there’s going to be other gods after her. We already knew Hades will be evoking his wrath at the daughter of Zeus, because he did it to Thalia. Her existence would stoke Hades’ anger even more because what Zeus did to Nico and Bianca’s mother, so for him to break the Oath again? Not looking too well on her prospects. And following Zeus, it’ll be Poseidon because up until Percy, he hasn’t have any demigods since the Oath; he’s the only god out of the Three to not have any children since WW2 started or had any before the Oath (like Hades). So for Zeus to break his oath twice/thrice? The gall of him being King and not upholding his own oath, law, and honour? That’s absolutely not fair. Oh it’s all hands on deck. (Side tangent: Poseidon has a whole lot of restraint for a sea god. He kept his word and it really paints the picture that Poseidon broke his own oath because of Zeus breaking the oath (twice if you include Jason as well), and Hades having his own children still alive really leaves him left out of fatherhood). If the daughter of Zeus hasn’t died or majorly cursed after all those THREE gods, and more gods along the way, and there are also monsters, SOMEHOW, and I’m assuming they do for the sake of your ask, I’m going to assume that this daughter of Zeus is either a year younger or the same age as Percy. Then there’s when her birthday is, is it going to be one month or a few months before Percy’s birthday or after that? It’s going to be tight and absolutely nerve-wracking because of the prophecy. The daughter of Zeus would not be naive to the world of the gods and monsters after what I said earlier. There’s also how she would survive that long being in Nancy Academy with Percy for that long, even if she is a new transfer student. Cause two children of the Big Three surviving in the same vicinity? Percy only survived that long because of Sally’s endurement and love to be with Gabe to mask his demigod scent, him being ignorant as a demigod, Grover and Chiron doing their absolute damnest to keep him alive and yet they still didn’t know Mrs. Dodds was one of the furies among them.
So that doesn’t paint a good picture for the daughter of Zeus. Even if it was the same scenario like Percy, she already be exposed to the world of the gods, so her demigod scent would be activated. To be hidden, would mean interference from a god like Zeus, and that’s not fair.
The Lightning Thief plot wise, it doesn’t paint well either. Zeus’ thunderbolt is missing so it would be natural for the Daughter of Zeus to target whoever searching for who stole her father’s weapon…meaning she would have to fight Percy in accusation; thus splitting the camp in half much more earlier; between those who support Zeus and those who support Poseidon. There’s also to consider the Hades's Helm of Darkness also missing at the same time, which is also another thing.
It would be super easy for Luke and Kronos to convince, trick, and manipulate the daughter of Zeus. Not just in the Lightning Thief but for the entirety of the books. That’s where it gets sad/unpleasant. Percy has always been meant to be the child of the Prophecy, and the one to turn the tides. He has the necessary perspective and personality, his journey as a hero adding to his nature and the people he has met along the way, both good and bad. Those experiences making up Percy for the prophecy to come to fruition is the key. Anyone else would have succumbed and led to the downfall of Olympus and the gods. If the daughter of Zeus’ birthday is a few months after Percy’s, then it's a matter of holding out till then, and everything is fine. It’ll be a tug of war over who is the child of the Prophecy that’ll make great tension in the books.
If her birthday is before his, well…not so good. She’ll be at peril by the gods to smite her so the prophecy doesn’t come true, like they tried with Percy and Nico. She could have been or is on Kronos’ side. If not that, then she’ll either be in a state to be suspended in time like Thalia joining Artemis’ huntresses or being cursed into one in an untimely way (i.e. being frozen as a statue), or meet an untimely demise (like Bianca).

Kinda interesting that besides the former King Cronus and Queen Rhea, Theia and Hyperion are assumingly the only couple who were able to have a lineage mighty enough for their children to be the personification of the Sun, Moon, and Dawn respectively. Not to mention being able to KEEP that role despite no obvious alliance with Zeus during the Titanomachy. (Helios and Selene get semi-replaced by Apollo and Artemis but still maintain their positions enough that Helios has a role in Hephaestus, Demeter, and Heracles' stories) (also Zeus never seeks out a replacement for Eos as the goddess of Dawn which makes me think that they are amiable with each other)
Compare that to Iapetus' four sons getting fucked in four different directions, Coeus and Phoebe's only real relevance being Leto and their grandchildren by Zeus and being grandparents to Hecate, Oceanus and Tethys producing and losing Metis while their other numerous children play minor to adequate roles, and Crius' sons merely being "husbands" to more well-known deities (Eos, Styx, Asteria). (Astraios being the biggest research disappointment because you'd think the husband of the Goddess of Dawn would be the God of Dusk and have an active role during sunset but no, he's just a God of the stars sadly).
(Of course, there are also Themis' and Mnemosyne's daughters by Zeus, who are very important, but like Leto's case it helps that their children's father is the King of The Gods and Zeus x Titanesses is almost 99% guarantee they get good roles) (then there's Prometheus Bound where Prometheus' mother is Themis only which is cool but I mostly consider Clymene as his mother)
#this post is just a long way for me to justify my hc that theia and rhea are twin sisters destined to have strong children by their husband#gotta love the assonances#greek mythology#rhea#theia#hyperion#cronus#kronos#titans#helios#selene#eos#zeus#hera#poseidon#demeter#hades#hestia#iapetus#clymene#prometheus#epimetheus#atlas#phoebe#coeus#leto#asteria#oceanus#tethys#metis

hiii could i request a percy x daughter of zeus hcs? 🫶🏼 but my request would be that even though reader is crazy powerful she’s not at all what people would perceive as a “zeus kid” and is honestly laid back and just like percy
percy jackson x daughter of zeus!reader summary: hcs about percy with a gf who's a daughter of zeus
when you first got to camp, percy was definitely thinking "not a daughter of zeus, that guy sucks ass"
yes he judges people he doesn't know, we all do
at first, the two of you could not get along with each other
constantly arguing
you definitely "accidentally" zapped him and he "accidentally" soaked you with water
you both had dish duty for a month and you got to know each other more
he was pleasantly surprised to find that you were nothing like your dad at all
like you were chill af and he was down w that
i think you two definitely still had your arguments because as children of the big three you were very impatient and easily angered, as we saw with thalia and percy
but you got through it (usually after having a duel)
always keeping each other on their toes
if there was another war, you two would be a force you wouldn't want to anger
camp halfblood now has scary dog privileges x2
the two of you train together all the time, but sometimes you get carried away
like, you'll be summoning big storms and shit and he'll like accidentally create a tsunami bc y'all are trynna strengthen your powers
you got yelled at and put back on dish duties for almost ruining the camp
if percy was feeling sad, you would take him by the water and create lightning in the sky in the shape of a heart
immediately makes him smile and he gets all happy and makes a heart in the water
you two are ALWAYS sleeping in each other's cabins
bc like
it gets lonely being strong and sexy and you just wanna feel each other's warmth through the night
i think because you two are children of the big three and you've been through so much, ur nightmares are so much worse
and sleeping in each other's cabins helps you two calm each other down
that's the only reason mr d and chiron let you do it
also, because they couldn't get you to stop no matter how many times they put you on cooking or dish duty
everyone at chb is scared of y'all....
like in heroes of olympus when the other povs show just how scary percy and jason are, i think it would also apply to you as a child of the big three
your dad does NOT approve of him
but neither of you care
poseidon likes you tho, hes a supportive king
you can fly but you're scared to take him with you because you think your dad will zap him right out of the sky
but he always takes you underwater
you guys go to his dad's palace underwater and you meet his tyson
tyson LOVES you more than anything
maybe even more than he loves percy
which is a LOT
you guys are always on quests together, but its fine nobody is really worried
they were when you guys first went on a quest together bc u two still didn't get along then
but now you do
so they know the quest will get done with EASE
y'all work together SO WELL now that you like each other
bc on ur first quest... oh lord..
we won't talk about that tho bc its CRAZY what y'all were doing to each other
but yeah, u guys work together so well and all the quests at camp get done with ease as long as you guys go together
in conclusion, y'all are just a power couple

Zeus is a shit parent, obviously. His brothers are better parents obviously.
Here’s the examples of the ones from blood of zeus (from the main 3 godly children that were on screen, srs the others got nothing)
Apollo - kept Zeus from getting caught by Hera, probably preventing the conflict from happening earlier, and yet no thank you or nothing, not shocking Zeus is a dick. Saved Hermes from probable death from a dangerous job and got tossed into the fucking ocean, a sun god, in water. Poseidon being the better brother, and brought him to Olympus…….. Zeus said and did nothing, probably still pissy at Hera for shanking him in the neck. Probably deals with Hera being pissy he and the others are Zeus’s bastard children
Hermes - literally delivers all of his messages and findings on top of delivering souls to Charon, again, no appreciation. Definitely deals with Hera calling him a bastard child. Agreed to spy on Hera, who probably knew that was gonna happen, and nearly got killed (probably murder attempt) by Ares for it (thank you Apollo). Immediately ran up to Olympus, after that (possible) murder attempt to save Zeus’s ass from getting killed by Hera, he definitely would’ve got stabbed again. And bc it’s Zeus, no appreciation.
Ares - the punching bag of Zeus, ‘oh Hera found smth out must be Ares, let me throw a lighting bolt at him and find out’. No you idiot, Hera found out by herself and was already aware. Always on his mothers side because 1) his old man can’t keep it in his pants and 2) (hc) he probably had to deal with the aftermath of finding out her husband is a cheating dick each time.
Now Hephaestus was barely on but he’s clearly under appreciated, that mf Zeus was destroying his robots left and fucking right as a lesson, on the other hand his owl robot (forgot the name) is so fucking cute.
This is just the examples from BOZ, I liked the show overall but making Hera the antag and a jealous bitch was a bad choice. You could’ve made her the villain because her husband, who’s also her brother, fucking assaulted her and she married him to hide that fact. Also the fact her husband can’t keep his shriveled dick in his fucking chiton. :) fuck you Zeus.

Can u please post sum pjo oc content the tag's been runnin dry
🫡 you've got it boss. uhh let's do these ones for now -
these are all some misc rough doodles thinking about potential Big 3 kids pre-the current modern set of Big 3 kids in the series. There's not a ton of hard concepts in here, mostly just fiddling around. elaboration for these guys below the cut:
- Poseidon twins i imagine were already at CHB when the oath was taken and died relatively soon after (smited for prophecy-avoidance reasons).
- The girl i imagine went unclaimed her entire stay at CHB but strongly suspected that she was a daughter of Poseidon and everybody else kind of had an inkling. She was mysteriously smited without explanation (prophecy avoidance) before she turned 16.
- Zeus cabin gang (forgive my outfit anachronisms i didnt feel like getting deep in the weeds about 1930s+ camp attire for doodles) - first row i think perhaps is the Zeus kids that were already at CHB when the oath was made and were all killed before they turned 16. Second and third rows I imagine gradually cropped up over time and ended up at chb at some time or another. Half of them probably went totally unclaimed and all got smited/killed pretty quickly after arriving. I dont have a ton of thoughts for each individual, though I did pick out some themes each of them are based off of relating to Zeus' aspects. I imagine the first girl in the first row is very wolf-themed and was cabin counselor for awhile. Second kid is a huge flirt. The last kid in the first row is based off of Zeus as youngest of Kronos' children/young Zeus and is cabin 1 baby. etc etc.
And then the Romans!
- My personal hc is Hades/Pluto just absolutely does not have demigod kids much at all, and when he does there's like a 50% chance or more Persephone will have kids around the same time, if not with the same mortal(s). So Hades & Persephone siblings are not uncommon when they do crop up. I also like to think that because they're so uncommon, these guys are pretty much the only time a Hades/Pluto kid has cropped up at either camp at all (at least so far as being recorded) before Bianca/Hazel/Nico.

ASK: headcannon of Percy Jackson's younger sibling and child of Poseidon ofc! i'll go w gn!reader since you didn't specify! (I accidentally deleted the og ask)
{Child of Poseidon HCs}
When Percy found out you were his sibling, he was ecstatic but also felt bad for you. After all the pain and anger the few children of the Big Three went through, he hated that his newly-found sibling would have to go through it too.
He introduced you to Tyson, who, though he was jealous in the beginning, loves you just as much as he loves Percy. It took him like a day for him to warm up to you but you were the first person to love him like Percy did.
Percy loves you and protected you from all he can. Every year after summer in Camp Half-Blood Percy drove you to Sally's ever since she adopted you because your mother died. She loves you like you're her own daughter. This was to keep you near him so he could keep you safe from monsters.
He loves you like you're his full-blooded sibling, and nothing could ever stop the two of you from being the most Poseidon-like demigods ever to be seen.
if you saw me accidentally posting this u didnt 💀

Do you have any headcanons for your amphy oc? I really love her design and dynamic with Poseidon as well as her children 🥹🩵🪸
Aasdalsflsa ty!
Perhaps most of my "hcs" are just characterization of this Amphitrite.
But If I had to say:
I like to think she hides in a seashell when she is mortified or miffed at Poseidon (as seen in the @godlyolympostv , little EPIC au)
She likes to people watch or watch in general, she'd love theater.
She is older than Poseidon, and not actually that short in mortal standars - Poseidon is just huge in his humanoid form
She doesn't mind sharing, though Poseidon is enough for her personally
She calls Poseidons bastards "bonus kids"
Poseidon calls her "my sea" as a pet name, but she is the personification of the sea so -
Just general #epic goau thing, wet mortal fabrics feel awful against any water nymphs skin so they mostly clad themselves with foam from the water.
Other news, I actually had a comic almost ready that had all 3 kids but my krita file corrupted few weeks back. Iv been grieving over Triton's panels - and healed it by making the "Seashell" comic.

Could you write some new Hera/Zeus headcanons?
okie i think i've actually managed to think of some new stuff!! hope it's okay, and sorry for the wait!!!!!!
first, let me link my previous Hera x Zeus hc's: (one) (two)
now. i wrote previously about how Hera and Zeus started off; essentially, after accidentally killing Metis (the ONE other goddess besides Hera whom i hc to be Zeus' "true" love), Zeus finds it impossible to let go of the past and decides that he needs to isolate himself from everyone so that he never gets close enough to someone to hurt them like he did to Metis.
BUT, Hera actually encourages Zeus to let go of that mindset, forgive himself and move on because he's the King now and he needs to take responsibility.
in this list, i wanted to elaborate a bit more on that.
so, Rhea and Zeus are very very close. i think Rhea has the best relationship with Zeus because, y'know, he's the hero. he's the only one she actually managed to save. she feels sooo proud and indebted to him. and, even though she tries very very hard to make that same relationship with her other children, it's very difficult because the others in the Big Six are already "adults" when they're set free from Kronos.
even between Zeus and his siblings; everyone is very cordial and everyone loves Zeus and thinks he's cool, but there's a bit of a clique between Hera, Demeter, Hestia, Hades, and Poseidon-- they're the ones who were trapped in Kronos' stomach. they're the ones who understand that trauma. Zeus, sympathetic as he is, just doesn't get it. he can never get it because he's never experienced it.
so, when the news breaks out that Zeus has done a Kronos and killed Metis and his first child (unborn, but still),, that's really unnerving for them.
i think the rest of the siblings are like, "uhhh too soon!". it's scary. he's supposed to be their brother and the guy who's King, but then he goes and does That and everyone's a little bit.. scared.
Rhea, of course, recognises that there's a rift now between the siblings, and i think she does her absolute best to squash it.
Kronos becomes mad because he gives into his paranoia and pushes all his siblings away. Rhea wants to avoid that by encouraging her children to stick together.. to forgive Zeus for his mistake and not make him feel like an outcast.
but, as i said, Rhea and her other children don't have that strong of a bond. it's not truly unconditional. they won't do just anything and everything she says.
Hestia, i think, was not a "newborn" when Kronos swallowed her, she was a few months old and she has memories of Before, so even though she does love Zeus, i think she just didn't have the strength to approach him directly after Metis' death.
Demeter, Poseidon, Hades feel much the same way.
Hera is unwilling at first. but i think she sees Rhea's exasperation, and she knows that Zeus would've done anything for anyone of them if they had made the same mistake, so that's why she's the First one to go, "yeah okay. i'll talk to him".
i like the idea of Zeus sitting in a forest, sitting by a lake-- he used to practice sparring with Metis by the lake (lake = water = Oceanus = Metis' dad). so the lake is like,, Zeus' connection to Metis.
and. because he's a weather god, the skies are very grey and gloomy only in this one place that he's sitting. and it's bucketing rain. he's drenched, but he pays no notice. he's just miserable.
when Hera first approaches Zeus, i think Zeus tells her to go away, and she insists on staying, and he argues more, and then, in a fit of anger, he releases lightning and sets a tree on fire, and that freaks Hera out-- it freaks Zeus out too because he didn't mean to do it. he has no control over his powers. Zeus' anger is a recurring theme in many later hc's i have hee hee... see: Prometheus, Hephaestus
but, scared as she is, she doesn't leave him. she stays with him, and in typical Hera fashion, she scolds him for acting miserable all the time and never doing anything about his problems.
i hc that Hera is the one who tells him to get his off his mopey ass and start training harder to get a grip on his lightning and his strength so that he won't make the same mistakes again.
and she gets through to Zeus.
in the Iliad and in some other myths, Hera is shown to be proficient in fighting-- she beats Artemis at archery and is quite a force to be reckoned with even though she's not the "goddess of war". but Enyo and Ares, her children, are gods of war. i think they get that from her.
i hc that Hera is brilliant at using swords and bows and spears. it's so natural for her. but Zeus, even though he has so much physical strength, he's not that great at being focused and precise.
but, he trains with Hera and she teaches him to do better. and it works. with raw power, speed, precision-- he's unstoppable.
now, like i've said previously, in all these interactions, they're really just friends. but i think that's where all the romance starts. their bond is like gold being tempered in the fire. each of these non-romantic interactions strengthens the romantic relationship they eventually develop; it gives them a strong foundation to stand on, and i think that's why they last in spite of the obvious highs and lows of their relationship.
much later on in their relationship, when Hera becomes pregnant with their first child, Eileithyia, i think this is a very important milestone in Zeus' life. it's not his first kid, but it is his first kid with a goddess that he truly loves. not a goddess chosen because Fate said so or because he thought it would benefit the future generations of gods, or because it was just a "happy" mistake with some goddess in a tryst... this is his first child with a goddess he would move the world for. there is no ulterior motive here; Eileithyia is born from pure love. just like Athena was with Metis.
so, for Zeus to remain calm during Hera's whole pregnancy-- the pain of losing Metis still fresh, Kronos' curse still whispering cruelly in his ears from the shadows-- it is a huge step for Zeus to remain in control of his fears. he is there for Hera when their daughter is born, she's the apple of his eye and he won't lose her, he won't accidentally destroy her like he did to his other unborn child (of course, time will reveal that he did not, in fact, destroy his other child hee hee but that's for another story).
and, Zeus' strength in this matter 100% comes from Hera being his rock. she's the one who put in the time to train with him and help him get over his fears.

If you didn’t mind could you maybe talk about what demigods look like/cryptid demigod hcs
I’m probably wording this wrong but I saw a tiktok saying that kids of gods would have cryptid features for example children of hades or underworld gods in general having vampire features, children of sea gods having scales or webbed fingers, maybe children of Zeus or wind gods get feathers, children of Athena can do 360 head turns like owls, Hecate kids having a visible functioning third eye on their forehead that shows them spirits(and probably vampire features Hecate does do necromancy stuff), Hermes kids getting winged feet, children of Apollo having glowing eyes (I think this is somewhat canon) tbh the list goes on
It’s reasonable to think that demigods look somewhat uncanny they are literally half god and it would probably be covered by the mist to mortals anyways
Even if you don’t wanna do a full series on this I’m just curious to ur opinion on it and ideas you have for other gods
Alright, here’s my own take if we’re going off the Greek demigods having uncanny features:
Zeus: The children could have feathers but also considering them being like the air and clouds. Like their presence can be loud and forceful like high winds or practically invisible like the air around us, or how they seem to float as they walk, their feet never really touching the ground. However, when they get angry, their form shifts and they become this angry grey, stormy cloud, crackling lightning and thunder, their voice distorting like booming thunder as their presence whips around you and threatens to tear you apart. Their hands when they touch you spark and electrocute you, and you can smell and taste the ozone around them. They look down at you with eyes like an eagle.
Poseidon: I would wager they have a sleek appearance to them and everything seems okay. So maybe when they smile, you see some unnervingly sharp teeth like a shark. However, when they enter the water, your eyes can't tell if the water is distorting their shape, but you swear you see something else that makes you remember that we know more about space, then our own ocean; making you both amazed and afraid at what the abyss contain…or don't allow you to see because they won't let you resurface at all.
Hecate: While a third eye is cool, that’s more of an Asian mythological feature (I.e. Hindu, Buddhism, Taoism), however, I can see them having three faces that they can change according to that face’s personality, or true to Hecate’s mythos, where Hecate changes forms from a young girl to an oldy lady according to the time of day, their children faces/personality changes according to the time of day. In a moment of peak battle or power, all three faces appear all at once. The Vampiric features also work as well in this case, but you could also go with something ghoulish or ghostly. From the distance, their appearance to you is half invisible like a rolling mist. Another trait that a child of Hecate could have is serpentine qualities, relating them to Lamia, who has a connection with the goddess. So imagine a child of Hecate with skins with the scales of a snake, a forked tongue, and limbs that move too fluidly in a way that makes you think they don’t have normal human bones.
Hades: we already see references to it with Nico, but the ghostly, pale appearance would be made more true. Representing the domain of death, they would have cold skin, their eyes are dark like shadows, Or part of the Riches of his domain, you'll see how their eyes twinkle like jewels gold or their teeth, nails shimmer like diamonds. They seem alive to you but if you watch them carefully, you notice their skins shimmer as if their see-through or made out of precious gems, but then you realise, you really haven't seen them breath. Not in the way of the living. Their chests don't move unconscious and almost seem forced, like they have to remember to move their chests up and down. In fact you've seen them stand way too still, with chests freezing yet they're still moving.
Athena: I think her kids not only can turn their necks pretty much around like an owl, but have you considered they really have good hearing, and moving practically invisible? There's a reason why owls are considered the silent hunters/death. Their grey eyes looking wide and bright at you, but as you move, you notice their eyes following you as if you're a mouse moving among a field. Their heads and neck tilting just so that makes your own neck feel severed.
Demeter: Ever heard the metaphor “Hair like corn”? Each child of demeter has qualities that reflect nature, crops, or anything to do with plant life. When they laugh, it either sounds like branches brushing against each other from the wind or the sound of wood creaking and cracking as the bark and flesh of the wood breaking. Or when you see a child of Demeter fight during the wars and you see their blood or flesh fly. When it lands on the ground, you watch as it sprouts into another version of themselves like fungi; you realise if the child of Demeter you've been talking to is the original or just another body of them with the same mind and soul?
Aphrodite: We know Aphrodite's appearance will reflect what the person's ideal version of beauty or who they love is reflected off her. Now imagine her kids having the same thing, their faces resembling everyone's love, preference, their ideal features (button nose, thin lips), but when you come to actually describing their entire face, you suddenly can't. You have an idea of their features but they're in fragments. You try to piece them together and form their face but you can't. You can't remember their faces at all. You start to think you don't know their face at all, you never have, and they're just a mirage in your mind. You don't remember their faces because you can't. You've never seen them, have you?
Ares: Out of them all, they seem the most human-like. War and violence is a part of human nature and it's reflected in them. They hold qualities that make you sweat and stiffen, the way they look at you makes you want to either fight or flight. A side of humanity you don't want to admit that is in our nature and life.
Dionysus: There's a quality to them that seems a bit off to you, but you can't help getting drawn in. Their eyes are maniacal and don't stare in the eyes too long or you find your mind drifting off. Or how they move like a jaguar, their appearance alluring but very deadly as they stalk towards you. Nonetheless, your eyes will deceive you as you try to look at them, their forms not exactly what they seem to be and if you try to dissect what they look like, you’re not going to like what you see.
Hermes: Their feet may have wings that allow them to fly and go about speeds. However, much like the Aphrodite children, you see the faces of a traveller. They've been to places and seen things you haven't seen before, but when you try to think of their faces, you can't remember. They made an impression on you yes, but when you try to remember their features, you can't really remember and they are only a figment in your memory. Yet you can’t forget them or their sweet, honey layered and silver tongued words, even if you know its a lie, you find yourself believing in them and take their words as the truth.
Hephaestus: The children of Hephaestus’ eyes burn and glow with hot coals, flaming hot. Their features are almost sculpted like marble statues, both soft yet rigid. Their veins underneath their skin have a thin glow of heat like the veins of a volcano as they bend the physical shape of something in something else. A limb of theirs moves rather rigidly, like it was a limp but as it moves, you are reminded of the joint of a machine, moving in a certain way that isn’t like a muscle. When their skin is reflecting the heat of the forge, you are reminded that their skin looks like stone or metal.
Apollo: We already know about the glowing eyes part, but I wanna say there’s a bit more to that. How light follows them, how they embody it. You can see them but you can’t stare directly at them for too long before your eyes start to burn like staring directly into a lightbulb. Their form seems to shimmer and bend with the light, before you realise you may not be able to touch them more than you can touch the sunlight. Then you also start to realise the shadows around them seem more darker, more of a void then you thought it could be, moving, swirling beneath their feet. As you take notice of the shadows behind them, how it seems to wrap around them like a second skin, the shadow then moves on its own, differently from it’s host, as it raises its finger over where the mouth should be, before you see it actually smile. You may not be able to touch the light and shadows, but it can certainly touch you, prying your darkest truths and secrets from your own shadow betraying you. You learn that the children of Apollo don’t naturally have shadows because they’re made out of light, so where is their darkness?
Going off a bit more of the whole concept though: It’s not the first time nor the last time someone who has those kinds of ideas as humans do. The only reason the Greek and Roman demigods have ‘human’ features is because of how the gods are perceived, where in Ancient Greek people believed the Gods looked like regular mortals, but were absolutely perfect in their appearance as they were above mortals and their features reflect peak perfection of our human appearance, and we cannot perceive their true form because it is outside of our mortal realm. I believe that’s why the gods turning into their true form is deadly to mortals for that reason.
So the greek/roman demigods would have the godly qualities to them, that are still mortal but just a little bit different, a little out of this world. We actually see Rick Riodan reference these features in the book like Percy’s Sea Green eyes or Thalia and Jason’s Electric Blue eyes. Those weren’t metaphors or similes. They just lean more towards beyond human then cryptid realm.
However, it wouldn’t be unusual to attach some non-human features to the gods as we constantly attach their symbols to them. Specifically the animal parts relating to the gods, it’s one of the reasons Egyptian gods are depicted with animal features; as the animal parts to represent their personalities or specific traits that were important to their purpose. For example, Anubis the God of Death is depicted with the head of a jackal as the animal was associated with death in ancient Egypt. So if these Egyptians gods had demigods, we can only assume they would have these features too.
I believe in the Riordan verse, there are the Mayan gods and the Mayan demigods, Godborns, are the opposite of their Greek/Roman counterparts where the Godborns have a sort of physical handicap, disability, or some medical or mental issue. This is because people believed the blood of humans and the supernaturals were never meant to be mixed.
So go have one with your ideas! Be wild! Test the realm between mortals and the supernatural.

If I was gonna make 3 fundamental changes to the Riordanverse it would be these:
The demigods don’t influence wars and take station of high leadership, they’re *natural disasters*. What made the Big Three sign their pact? A zombie outbreak caused by children of Hades brought on by a battle between children of Zeus and Poseidon. Mortals remember this time as the Spanish Flu. We already see stuff like this with Typhon and the battle of manhattan— they just look like storms. The Black Plague was actually bc 40% of all Europeans were legacies at that point, and monsters started hunting down and killing any demigod who wasn’t strong enough to protect themselves. Went by the Black Death bc most of them were shadow creatures sent by Nyx who didn’t like the idea of that many godlings being in the world.
Demigods don’t all inherently have ADHD and Dyslexia, even if it is common. However *all* disabilities that a demigod has will have a benefit/power associated with it. Because they’re fkn demigods! Even their disabilities are superpowers! Oh, you have a hand tremor? Well you can run like a cheetah. Oh, you use a wheelchair? Well your upper body strength could make an ogre’s knees buckle. Eye trouble = ears of a hound. Narcolepsy/chronic fatigue = more potent powers. I feel like this would skirt the “magical disability” trope a bit since it’s not “you get ADHD from your magic parents therefore it’s fake ADHD” it’s “you have ADHD, but because you’re a magical demigod, you also get this.” I would also apply this to acquired disabilities btw. Amputation = magical demigod body reacts accordingly, focusing your half divine power into something else.
Children of Athena are adopted by Athena bc she sees potential in them, rather than them being her actual weird mind babies. I imagine her Blessing imparts all of the powers her demigods usually get, though they would only *smell* like demigods to arachnids. Also in my HC Annabeth runs away bc she feels like a burden on her parents bc she’s the only one with ADHD and dyslexia (even tho they don’t actually care, she still feels resented for struggling in school). Athena sees this mortal child willing to live on the streets and be independent when things don’t go her way and she says Thats My Girl Now and Annabeth becomes scared of spiders and starts seeing a sht ton of monsters everywhere.

Feeling once again weak for the red old man so Areos hc time
- I have a story in my head for how they got familiar the first time! :) I'll make a more detailed post on that when I get the time, but tl;dr, Eos found and saved an unconscious Ares who had been fighting a powerful enemy, and patched up his injuries as he was bleeding Ichor (celestial blood). Bam, Ares was lovestruck. Then, because Eos had broken her wing while saving Ares, Ares did a rare kind and gentlemanly action, and gave Eos a ride on his chariot UuU Both to help her spread morning dew over the lands, and to ride her back home to Olympus where they could get her wing healed.
- Eos was SO flattered and surprised! Most gods did not usually pay attention to her, since she is only a minor goddess whose whole job is to herald the arrival of the day, of Apollo's chariot. So of course she is most of the time overshadowed by his radiance. Besides...she would have never thought that Ares, the terrifying god of war, could be so sweet and considerate to a lady!
- Ares in the meantime, could not stop thinking about Eos for weeks after the incident - her luminous light, her eyes, her cheeky smile, and the way she had saved him and fought a monster for him. Boy was he down baaaaad. However this all is exactly he was awfully shy about talking to her again, and resorted to avoiding Eos for a while like an absolute loser. Until Athena practically YELLED at him to go talk to Eos again LMAO
- Ares is that super showoffy jock boyfriend who is always trying to impress Eos. Be it fighting monsters in front of her, bringing her war trophies, lifting heavy stuff, you name it. He's that meme of "this one's for you baby" *throws a basketball and it misses the basket*
- Eos giggles and flutters her wings while blushing madly, even when he absolutely fails, because he makes her feel so special. She's been so occupied over the years on just being the morning goddess...she had forgotten how it feels to be loved like this.
- Eos loves to impulsively scoop Ares into her arms and fly. Too bad most of the time he wears his heavy armor, so she struggles flapping her wings LOL but whenever he is rarely in a civil wear, like wearing his pajamas, she will absolutely bridal carry him!
- Due to morning dew, Eos' powers are mostly water based. She tends to playfully splash dew at Ares every now and then. If there's water nearby, Ares will answer by splashing back. Cue a chaotic water splashing fight where they both laugh loudly and Poseidon yells "I'M TRYING TO SLEEP"
- Of course, being the goddess of morning, she is great at cooking breakfast. Ares is usually the one out of the couple who insists on cooking for the family. The "healthy military meals", as he says. But when Eos wants to spoil him and her children, they'll be eating the most high quality shakshouka and wine leaf rolls.
- I haven't remembered to mention this, but Eos is AWFULLY clumsy, whether it's dropping stuff off Olympus by accident, or tripping on her own wings. Which gets dangerous whenever she wants to try Ares' weapons LOL
- Remember that scene in Shrek 4 where Shrek and Fiona bond by playfighting with heavy weapons? Yeah that's Areos energy right there
- Ares often calls her "you crazy woman". With the most lovestruck eyes in the world.
- Listening to "Wild Thing" from the end of Strange Magic always makes me think of Areos too bye
- Like I drew earlier, Eos has a whole army of romantic nicknames for Ares, each one sappier than the last. Ever since the other gods on Olympus heard that, they have been mercilessly pranking Ares over it. Once, when Ares arrived to the Olympus court meeting, his name tag on his seat was "BooBoo Bear". Ares broke the table with his fists
- Eos can be clingy. Every time Ares leaves for a battle, a journey to faraway lands on his chariot, Eos either asks if she can come along, or fusses over packing Ares all sorts of food, healing ambrosia, celestial bandages etc. Deep down, Eos is HORRIBLY scared that something bad will happen to Ares. She does not want to lose him like she lost Astraeus and Tithonus :(
- Often, she puts a happy smile on her face so Ares won't be too worried for her, as she does not want to hold Ares back. But sometimes, after Ares is gone, Astraea hears her mom breaking down into sobs in her room.
- Remember that Homeric myth where a bunch of giants managed to trap Ares and imprison him in an amfora for 13 months straight until Hermes finally found and rescued him?
- Yeah, when that happened, Eos ignored her morning goddess duties entirely, to hysterically fly around Greece and search for Ares, causing dawn to never break and for the world to be stuck in a permanent nighttime, as Apollo was unable to ride his sun chariot. When she could not find Ares, she started to fear that he had died... even the cold Boreas stopped being salty at Ares and went to search for him, once he saw the way his dear mother curled up and sobbed and wailed hopelessly, as Astraea hugged her and tried to comfort her.
- Ares in the meantime?? The myth describes him screaming, howling and thrashing endlessly in the amfora. And so he did, causing the Giants to cover their ears like "holy shit we should have kidnapped the god of calmness instead". The only thing bringing Ares comfort in this claustrophobic, merciless long prison, was thinking of his family back at Olympus... Athena, Eos, Fear and Terror, young Harmonia, the wind quadruplets, Astraea...in a rare moment of hopelessness, he'd sob, wanting nothing more than to be free and get back to them.
- Lmao this got horribly angsty BUT as said before, Hermes found and freed Ares!! Accompanied by Boreas, who ruthlessly, mercilessly destroyed the Giants with a devastating, raging cold hurricane. And then he huffed at Ares "shut up I'm just doing this for my mom, NOT for you"
- Needless to say the reunion of Eos and Ares was heartwarming and passionately romantic 💖💖💖 And of course, both Hermes and Boreas got a CRUSHING hug and massive sloppy kisses on their cheeks by Eos. Hermes also got a permanent access to Eos' storage of figs and olives as a thank you.

Alrighty 👏 more chronological order things. So, how I think the order of children of Cronus is! For fics or general thought processes I guess.
CHILDREN OF CRONUS
1. Hestia ! She’s always portrayed as the eldest sister, and I figured she’d probably be the eldest child too. She has the eldest daughter curse.
2. Hades ! The eldest son, this is how I just generally thought the order would go, and in an HC way I like to imagine him and Hestia as twins.
3. Demeter ! The second oldest daughter. I honestly just don’t see her as older than Hades, or follow the idea of older sisters -> then the brothers. Figured actually having a son after Hestia would be an enhanced incentive to eat his kids- bc like hey, can’t risk it right?
4. Poseidon ! The second eldest son, and I figured he’d be younger than Demeter. In a Hc way, I’d like to think he was the youngest for a good amount of time, perhaps a few decades, before Hera even came down.
5. Hera! The youngest sister, but still older than Zeus :) She was the baby for a while in my mind.
5.5 Rock baby. He was the mascot in fathers stomach.
6. Zeus ! The end of the Cronus/Rhea line.
7. Chiron! Not a child of Rhea, but the son of Philyra. The overall timeline of when it happened is a bit lost on me, since he’s also like the adoptive son of Apollon?? Perhaps he was alone for a while, or perhaps Cronus got bail money, or decided to leave in that one myth where Zeus apparently made him king of Elysium. Who knows.
#chronological order#in my mind anyway#hestia > hades > demeter > poseidon > hera > zeus#greek mythology#the big six#the eldest olympians#hades#hestia#Demeter#Poseidon#Zeus#Hera#chiron#wonder if Cronus and Rhea ever got a divorce#huh#who knows
