Started as a random crossover between Proseka and Greek mythology/PJO. Then it went out of control. And then halfway I got lazy.

My personal favourite is Shiho's design. And Nene's, but does it really count as my design if half of it is literally from the game?

An experience, and an idea of sorts.

We all know the act of pouring a libation for a deity, surely. But, there is something that feels so personal about sharing a drink with your deity/deities and just...chatting. I had some cream soda I wanted to share with my two patrons. I cleansed myself, my arms and my face especially, grabbed a small glass and a few ice cubes. Then, grabbed the bottle of soda and quickly ran up to my room. I approached their altar, spoke my usual greeting and stated my intentions before pouring all of our drinks (gods first, of course) and then took a seat on the ground. Then I just...talked. I talked my absolute head off. My cold drink in hand, occasionally stopping to take a sip or two, then going right back to it. My faith had dwindled for awhile after I got severely overwhelmed and burnt out, so this was my first time praying within a week. I talked about everything. How I was feeling, what led to the burnout, my latest experiences, my thoughts on everything and even dove down into some childhood memories regarding my patrons and how I felt they were always there for me even when I didn't know what Hellenism was. For the first time in what felt like ages, my mind was just completely empty. Not a single thought, none. All I knew is that I was just talking, pouring my heart and feelings out, and sooner or later emotionally going on about how beautiful all of this was to me, and my love for my patrons. Once I had finished my drink, at the same time I just about ran out of things to say. I set my glass down, stated that I had nothing more to say and took their cups to the bathroom sink. I graciously thanked them both for the time they gave to me as I poured out the drinks, for allowing me to talk so freely, and proceeded to tell them I love them and farewell for now before cleaning the cups. That was undeniably the most positive experience I've ever had while praying, truly. It felt so incredibly good, almost cathartic in a way. All I know is that I am incredibly grateful for my deities and came out of prayer feeling overwhelmed with joy, warmth and euphoria. Now, I'm incredibly relaxed, and dare I say sleepy. Hail Father Zeus, and Hail Lord Poseidon. ♡

how the gods/goddesses treat their children

a/n: hi, i got this idea while reading tlo, also i'm at a party rn and uploading on tumblr lol hope you enjoyyy

zeus: holds you to such a high standard, which is his way of showing how he cares for you. would definitely threaten you with lightening bolts if he thought you did him dirty :heart eyes:

poseidon: he always smells like salt and sunscreen, is a good dad when he's around. gives good warm hugs. watches each of his children but doesnt help you as much because he wants you to be resourceful and independent

demeter: a typical doting mother, reminds you to eat your vegetables and work hard during training. just don't catch her on a bad day (yikes) but she genuinely wants the best for all of her kids

ares: such a proud dad, the type to give you a noogie everytime he sees you. helping you at every twist and turn, and always correcting your fighting style. "hey, i saw you practicing earlier, and i thought i should mention..."

athena: fiercly protective of her children. always calm, always giving the best advice, and always expecting you to give your all. though she is strong in her sense of justice, and will hold you accountable in your actions

apollo: you leave each other haikus. honestly he's TOO chill of a dad, too lax and no real expectations for you. he is always down to hear your music or poems, or see your art.

artemis: spends so much time with you, would literally lay her life on the line for any of her hunters. her animals ARE your siblings. she is actually hilarious, you all get a kick out of pranking her brother apollo

hephaestus: not a very personable father. he cares in his own special way. always says something eerily cynical when he sees you like "glad to see you're still kicking, i guess" like ?? thanks dad?? he does feel proud to have kids with such ingenuity

aphrodite: believes children are bright minds just ready to be taught about light and love in the world. extremely motherly and affectionate towards her children. usually meddling in her childrens lives, convincing them that their dreams are just within reach

hermes: honestly a really good dad, very caring about his children and their parents. takes being a dad very seriously and it's important to him that he does right by his children to his very best ability. he hates that he can't be more involved and helpful in his kid's lives

dionysus: pretends not to care about his kids, but really really does. always helping in little secretive ways whenever he can. if you thanked him for this, he would either say he barely lifted a finger or he didn't know what you were talking about

hades: he isn't the most fatherly type but he doesnt tolerate disrespect towards his kids because that means disrespecting him. he is very critical of his kids, and only really treats you with respect once you make him proud

Nico Di Angelo x Opposite!Child of Zeus ⚡️

Pairing(s): Nico Di Angelo x Gn!Reader

Like all his relationships with others, he’s initially very withdrawn

His only impression of you was that you were this golden child and obviously felt distaste

He doesn’t much care for you, why would he? Then there comes the inevitable pairing up and he just happens to be paired with you

This was when the 7 and everyone aboard the Argo ll were in Europe and the two of you were chosen to go and get rid of some monsters surrounding the area

It wasn’t anything notable and was just a small security measure on the side

So while he took down anything that could pose as a threat he faced back at you just to realize you weren’t doing anything

Of course he sneered at you and wondered what all the hold up was about

Only to find out that the child of Zeus, someone who’s so intimidating and ready to strike at any small offense would be so timid and passive at the face of literal monsters

It’s almost laughable. Almost

He sort of scolds you (?) if you can even call it that

It’s more eye rolls and scoffing if anything but he chooses to just do it by himself

Honestly the more he thinks about it the more he’s shocked and kind of upset

What do you mean you’re more than capable of using your great powers and strength and yet you choose not to?

His initial thought process is ironic considering he grows to accept that you’re just the way you are and there’s nothing he can do

And although he seems just like a ray of sunshine /s , he eventually learns to really appreciate your nature

After the whole issue with Gaea is solved he finds himself more drawn to you

Maybe he’s just tired of having to fight all the time and maybe brooding all the time is getting a bit much

Whatever excuse he chooses to give you, he’s eventually drawn to your calm demeanor

It’s quite a contrast to his own intense nature and he finds himself feeling more centered and less isolated around you

Nico never knew he could be pretty protective

He knows you can defend yourself, you’re more than capable but because of your timidness you’re unable to stand up for yourself

That’s obviously where he comes in, and because of his well known reputation as a child of hades- he’s effectively able to scare them away

Now, we all know about Nicos little argument with Jason and how he’s got an “easy life” and doesn’t have any struggles

Well not exactly what he said but it might as well be

But Nico also learns that he was wrong with that and especially towards you

You both have challenges you face and expectations placed on you, being children of the big 3

All these stuff combined lead to the two of you truly bonding

Going back to Nico being drawn in to you being quite peaceful and stuff he eventually is able to be more open and vulnerable with you

It was obviously awkwardly painful for him but he managed to

And it’s obviously appreciated

After being a couple he understands that you need to assert yourself more because, cmon??

He’d never push you out of your comfort zone because it’s not like you’re a complete push over

Although there is likely to be conflicts with Nico just because of his powers and known reputation at camp and ppl just wanting to start shit

Yknow cuz you’re passive and he’s pissed asf then you’re bound to clash a bit

author's note: I had a sudden idea about writing some headcanons Camp Halfblood demigods being claimed and what it's like for each respective god and cabin, followed by a small blurb afterwards. Before you even get claimed, it’s been a wild and long event before you get to camp. Your life has already been filled with trials and misfortune, and just when you think life can’t be any harder, the curtain has been ripped from you and the monsters and terrors are jumping out at you. 

So when you arrive, people already have an idea who your godly parent is or how powerful you are. The rumour mill spreads fast. 

But as soon as you arrive, you are immediately claimed and your parentage is revealed. Thunder rumbles through the sky and everyone starts immediately backing away from you and looking nervously at the sky. Then they see the claim mark above you, and everyone is immediately gaping and there’s a ruckus. 

Then you hear more than one person go “Of course it’s Zeus” in the most tired voice and there was a cacophony of groans. 

You are swiftly brought to the Big House with the core cabin leaders, Mr. D, and Chiron who all look uncomfortable. They all make occasional glances up towards the roof, gesturing to the sky with every rumble as everyone takes turn to explain the Big Three, their pact, then the overturned pact, and the crux of the matter that this is not the first time and doubt be the last child of Zeus they’ll be seeing coming out of the woodwork; but considering the time frame of your age and when the pact was overturned…well something exactly doesn’t line up. Then you also remember or informed about Hera, the Goddess of Marriage and Zeus’ wife, and her track record reacting towards children of Zeus…mostly being a sign of infidelity. Annabeth tells you this is because Hera, being the goddess of marriage, and Zeus’ blatantly, repeated infidelity goes against her entire being, but since Zeus is a god and is above her, and won’t ever divorce him either, she usually directs her ire towards the mortal parent and the demigod in retribution. 

There’s a big boom of thunder and you see Mr. D, who you later find out who he is, makes a sour face before his face goes completely red, chugs his diet coke and slams it into a puck on the table, before standing up to yell outside the window. You all watch him yell at the sky to “quiet down and not to smite them all down because of their arguing” and Mr. D grumbling about fathers and how their children get all the backlash-

Chiron and a few other campers quickly and smoothly guide you away during the commotion and you’re then led to the orientation of everything else. All the pieces come together very quickly as thunder rolls and crackles above the Big House.

You start to get trapped in your own head about being the child of Zeus, and you try not to think about the implications, and then one night when you’re lying in bed, you jump out of your bed when your door is slammed open with thunder rumbling outside. 

You stare at who the person is, grabbing your temporary weapon just in case, and lo and behold, you see Thalia Grace at the doorway. She stares at you with disbelief before a grin appears, before she introduces herself boldly to you as your new sister. 

As soon you were claimed, all hell broke loose; which you would think be more fitting for a child of Hades. People were running around like they were headless chickens, some had their heads in their hands, and some were staring at you like they didn’t believe you existed or were looking right up the sky with anticipation. 

You had heard more than once, from more than one person, and quite frequently, the words: “Of course it’s Zeus” in various tones; mostly exasperation. You had a faint idea of why based on your knowledge of Greek mythology, and a small heavy dread began to form. Then you were brought to the Big House, given the biggest lore dump and then you were taken to one place and another. 

You lay in your bunk bed, trying to wrap your brain around what just happened and tried to process it. Basically, it hadn’t been that long since the overturned Big Three pact had made, and here you were. They could only imagine how many children of Zeus were just out there and would be appearing in Camp Half Blood in utter mass, and they feared what that meant (and Hera’s wrath). 

There was a crack of lighting, making you jump before you remembered you were a child of Zeus, as much how that insinuated, it brought you some comfort you were not going to die from being smite by lightning. As you closed your eyes, the door to your cabin was slammed open, shaking your utter camp and making you fly off your bed, and onto your floor. 

There was a figure at the open door and you saw the silver tiara on her head, and the electric blue eyes. The moment both of your eyes made contact, there was electricity in the air and you just knew, and she knew. 

“Wow, it is true” said the figure before stepping in, “Dad did really have another child-”

“Yeah….which I’m guessing I’m not going to be the last one” you said from the floor. 

There was a snort, “Oh yeah, knowing our shared father? Zeus definitely didn’t leave just you. Which is why I got called back here” she said. “Do you know who I am?”

“Yeah, Thalia Grace. The others, sort of, told me about you” you explained. 

“Yup that’s me. The name is Thalia Grace, daughter of Zeus, as well as Lieutenant to Lady Artemis…and also your sister” she introduced while holding out her hand to you. 

You introduced yourself while you looked at her hand before clasping it. A jolt of electricity spread between you and her, causing you to look wide eyed before you two shared a grin.

“Come on,” said Thalia she hauled you up, “first thing first, you and I have a lot to talk about before inevitably, the rest of our half-siblings start appearing on our front door.”

Devoting myself to Father Zeus has taught me to always take note of the small and seemingly trivial things in life. Whether that be clear, bright sunny days outside or a refractive rainbow on his statue. Zeus feels like family, unbridled warmth, pure kindness and unlimited love. PJO ROMAN DEMIGOD HEADCANONS: ⚡ JUPITER/JOVE: KING OF THE GODS, GOD OF (DIURNAL) THUNDER AND THE SKY⚡

Author’s Note: Alright, when I was writing the Greek demigods h/cs, I did keep in mind some of them and their Roman counterparts (i.e. Hera demigod), so when that one anon asked about doing Roman demigods, I got curious and this is my attempt. I do understand why there isn’t a lot but I gave it a shot. It’s not going to be the same for the Greek version and it’s not going to be very detailed since Camp Jupiter and New Rome is more limited than the Greeks, and there are some overlaps between the two, so that’s why. You’re going to be held in high regard since your godly father is Jupiter Jove himself. The King of the gods, chief deity of the Roman state, Central member of the Archaic Triad, Capitoline Triad; guardian of the state with Juno and Minerva, and the Dii Consentes. You’re respected based on the premise that Jupiter is basically head honcho of the Roman state. However, this brings a lot of pressure as people expect you to be a leader and be just like Jupiter, and be the embodiment of Roman values. 

You’re probably either more composed or learn how to be more composed with your emotions and actions; not only reflecting how the Roman gods are more strict, disciplined, responsible, and calm; but because of your environment. You’re the child of Jupiter so they automatically look to you as a figure of leadership which means they’re always watching you.

In terms of power, between Greek and Roman demigods, I have this idea that Greek demigods have more broad and abstract range while Roman demigods have a more limited yet technical use with more accuracy. So compared to a child of Zeus whose powers have lightning and thunder which means general electrokinesis; as a child of Jupiter your powers are more refined, so you can pull off more tricks and technical control. Hey, that means you can fly more in a barrel roll, breaking the sound barrier while the children of Zeus can just generally fly. 

Another power as a child of Jupiter may have is light based powers; based on one of Jupiter’s epithet as Jupiter Lucetius (Of the Light) where he was esteemed as purveyor of the universe. It makes sense if you consider lightning having the word ‘light’ and lightning does produce ‘light’, so unlike a child of Apollo, your light is more lightning in nature then the rays of the sun.

On a more not so serious note, you find yourself saying “By Jove!” more often than not; not only as a sign of exclamation of surprise or emphasis, but also because Jupiter is also called Jove, so you’re basically required to say something like “my god! or “good god”.  Then again, everyone else says that, aside from “by gods” or some variation of it, so you’re constantly on edge or wincing because they’re basically yelling “Your Dad!”

I have a feeling that the people of Rome see the Gods more as figures while the Greek see the gods as representation of their domains. So you’re going to be seen as either Jupiter himself or the representation of Roman values and rites; which makes you being pushed into the head of politics, management, and the such.

Following above, it feels like a very high school drama; where you’re the Prom Monarchy, the popular kid. I mention about the pressure but it also extends to your social life; there’s going to be unspoken and spoken words of who you should be hanging out with, who not to associate with and whatnot. In terms of your love life, like Jason and Reyna being expected to be together romantically, you also have the same treatment. Either it’s someone of your station or above it, in terms of respect to your parentage, and so forth.

In terms of demigods or legacies, you’re often pushed together with a child of Venus, due to Venus being the ancestor of the Roman people through her son Aeneas who survived the fall of Troy and fled to what is now Italy, and Julius Caesar as well. And when there’s news of a child of Hera/Juno? Oh Jove.

If it’s a child of Hera, all of the senate immediately begins to plan a political debate on how you and the child of Hera get together, or should they send a word of decree or plan a war to seize them. If it’s a child of Juno, I’m so sorry but you’re definitely forced to be with them because the two of you are the living representation and figures for the people of Rome, and the two of you existence together is a sign from the gods.

Despite this all, what Cohort you get into will depend on the reference letters and your honours. Just because you’re a child of Jupiter, doesn’t mean you’re exempt from placement. Much like Jason Grace, if you’re not put into the 1st cohort, expect a ton of criticism. Unlike being a child of Zeus, you have less freedom of existing with every aspect of Jupiter and his associations being placed upon you.

If you’re a legacy of Jupiter, which is more likely then not, you’re not that entirely unexempt from the same problems nor benefits then a direct blood of Jupiter. Maybe less so or not, but the pressure is still there. Of course, with being a legacy, your powers and aspects you have with Jupiter become more individualistic and specific, but nonetheless, the powers that you do have are very strong.
