my pocket altar to Amphitrite

this is probably the only time I’ll post photos of a full altar and that’s because I felt called to share. Amphitrite isn’t as well known as other deities of the Greek pantheon so I think sharing is caring in this instance. The only thing that isn’t pictured is the divination tool I use to speak with the Lady Amphitrite.

I repurposed an altoids tin for this pocket altar. I energetically cleansed it and placed items that I felt called by Amphitrite to put inside. I have some shells I collected from the beach, sand mixed with sea salt, an aquamarine crystal, a devotional candle, small incense sticks and a doily as an altar cloth.

I also decorated the inside with some sea imagery and I made a small paper standee to act as a stand in for a statue/figure.

Shoutout to the glass of Pepsi that sat on my alter for a month straight. And the sprinkles that have been there since Samhain. (It’s usually worse). Magic does not need to be glamorous. Give thineself a break my dear.

This is my altar for today! Theres a candle for Dionysus in the middle (back), bracelet I made for him on the left, fluorite hearts carving on the right, and a peen shaped cookie in the middle (front)

As for dionysia activities, today I’ve prayed to him and accidentally fell asleep, made sugar cookies (with vanilla frosting & sprinkles), read hymns, prayed again, and now I’m probably gonna play some video games and maybe later watch a movie :3

Devoting myself to Father Zeus has taught me to always take note of the small and seemingly trivial things in life. Whether that be clear, bright sunny days outside or a refractive rainbow on his statue. Zeus feels like family, unbridled warmth, pure kindness and unlimited love. Forgive the mess, I’ve been doing a lot of work on this little corner lately. Both literally, spiritually and magically in order to get my altar to a place where it feels like new again.

And the result is not a disappointing one.

It feels like mine again. It feels like a small place of safety and spiritual awareness for me again. And I can tell this is only the beginning of me deepening my practice.
