my pocket altar to Amphitrite

this is probably the only time I’ll post photos of a full altar and that’s because I felt called to share. Amphitrite isn’t as well known as other deities of the Greek pantheon so I think sharing is caring in this instance. The only thing that isn’t pictured is the divination tool I use to speak with the Lady Amphitrite.

I repurposed an altoids tin for this pocket altar. I energetically cleansed it and placed items that I felt called by Amphitrite to put inside. I have some shells I collected from the beach, sand mixed with sea salt, an aquamarine crystal, a devotional candle, small incense sticks and a doily as an altar cloth.

I also decorated the inside with some sea imagery and I made a small paper standee to act as a stand in for a statue/figure.

Witchy Tips: How to Make a Sea Altar

Craft stores supply many natural, sea-related items for you to use. However, if you live within a few hundred miles of the coastline, an annual “pilgrimage” to the shorelines to collect.

sandstone

pressed palm leaves

The difference between a sea themed table and a altar are the intentions and the energy you put into it. To make your altar start by pouring ocean water lightly over your altar to “refresh” the ocean energy, burn coconut incense to raise tropical vibrations, play “Sounds of the Ocean” soundtracks and meditate near your altar.

When using items for a spell try using sand in the color that matches your intention. If your a water sign, add your zodiac sign to a candle. Add a mermaid or a water goddess to it. Move the items around and or change them out as needed, do not let it get stagnant, it needs to flow just like the ocean and streams.

This is the altar I made for my dog after he died in July. His ashes are there, and I still haven’t gotten rid of the weeds and flowers I picked on our last walk. I don’t think I ever will. They are just as important as the dried flowers from my wedding day.

what a wonderful day to worship the old gods ♡

i think Lady Aphrodite heard me! i was sending voice memos to my partner talking about how i had seen lots of fishies but no crabs 🥲 and then i just kept on exploring and while doing so i picked up some nets that were stuck to the rocks to throw out and right after that i saw a whole bunch of crabs !!!! big and small !!! so so so many crabs !!! i was so happy !!! and while walking back to my towel i found a dry crab too !!!!

i’m excited to leave it and all the pretty rocks and shells on my alter later today 🥹🤍
