Part of the reason I'm starting to dislike people that make liking only unproblematic/wholesome media their entire personality is because they seem to treat anything that doesn't cater to their standards of unproblematic/wholesomeness is bad. Not just with dark content, but other unproblematic/wholesome media they don't personally like.

You like an unproblematic character? Nah, they decided the character is actually bad and problematic because they did stuff they didn't like and decided they are a bad person, actually.

You like a wholesome ship? Nah, they decided it's problematic because it has some stuff they don't like about it and think all shippers who like it are bad.

You like a wholesome show? Nah, they decided the show is actually irredeemable media because it has stuff they don't like about it that their media illiterate minds can't comprehend.

You draw harmless fanart? Nah, they decided you are a terrible person and deserve to be sent death threats because the art doesn't cater to their standards.

This is coming from someone who mostly likes wholesome content, and even I don't want to hang out with these guys with how toxic, annoying, and miserable these guys are.

If I had money I would hire some thug to find the producers or whatever head honchos that got to decide that making some character or another canonically queer was a bad idea for whatever bullshit reasons and the thug would just shake them like a fruit tree until the guys in charge would admit being homophobic assholes and they would promise to let writers make same-gender characters fall in love with each other if the comedians had enough chemistry, but also to include more diverse identities. The thug would force them to write it all down and sign it.

If I could do that a few times, imagine how different TV shows would become.
