Being a femme bi achillean (with little connection to sapphicism, and no connection to lesbianism) (and who is pretty exclusively into bisexuals and achilleans) is very isolating, so I will make it my mission to be LOUD about butch/futch/femme bisexuals and achilleans!!!!! We deserve recognition and representation and community and just acknowledgement. Even "inclusive" butch/femme communities still center being sapphic (and mostly being lesbian lolz).

a long time ago, my roommates had an argument over whether or not hamburgers are sandwiches. this actually got heated to the point of one of the guys having to get upset and walk away because he was convinced that hamburgers are not sandwich, but instead their own classification of food.

people will pick any hill to die on- we as a species cannot 100% all agree on the definition of anything. that's why we can't agree on the definition of gay, queer, lesbian, trans, bi, pan, aromantic, asexual, etc. because we as a species just can't do that. we all have a unique perspective on what concepts are and what they mean.

if we can't agree on whether or not a hamburger is a sandwich or not, i think it's best if we learn to agree to disagree on what the "true" meaning of gay, lesbian, trans, queer, etc. are and just let people live their version of that identity in peace. at the end of the day it literally doesn't matter if you don't know if a hamburger is a sandwich or just a hamburger- you're still going to eat it and gain nutrients from it.

a trans person having a different definition of trans than you, or a lesbian defining lesbianism differently than what they've been told, or any other type of queer person defining their identity in their own way isn't a threat to you- at the end of the day, it doesn't stop them from being trans, a lesbian, queer, or whatever. disagreeing on the definition won't stop it from happening; it's just petty. not every hill is meant for someone to die on. let go

I don't like the way I see some femmes post about butches... like they're little dolls that fit into their perfect doll house imagined life & not like... idk real people with real problems & struggles they face (often exacerbated by their gender non conformity.) it feels like it ignores the ways they're forced to care for everyone around them in order to be validated as a butch while being expected not to have feelings or needs of their own. (& all of this goes doubly for trans femme butches & black butches / studs)

sure. u want a butch to spoil u & dote on u & fulfill ur every whim. but are u going to do those things for them? even without them asking?? are you going to go out of your way to care for butches even when it's hard? even when u don't get anything from it?

bc if not... are you even really A Femme?

Thinking about my gender today, and whether I would consider myself to be multi gendered or not.

I honestly don’t really think I am, I think my gender is one singular gender, but it comprises several different things, kinda like my bisexuality.

My gender is butch, trans man, nonbinary, genderqueer and boy, but all of those words are used to describe one whole gender. I think of it like how a single die has multiple different sides with multiple different meanings but it’s still a whole object. Also kind of like when you hold a prism up to the light, depending on which way you turn it, a different pattern of light appears on the wall.

This is why it’s so easy for me to switch between the sapphic and achillean communities. I am a nonbinary bisexual butch sapphic and a trans bisexual man at the same time, so i can embody both of those spaces and not feel any sort of discomfort or dysphoria about it.

My gender is also very subjective to who i’m speaking and sharing space with. For example with my partner who is a trans man, of the queer variety I feel very achillean, but the other day when I was speaking with another butch lesbian, I embodied butchness a little more.

It’s honestly quite interesting to examine how my gender operates depending on the people i’m with.
