One more secret won't hurt / Bunny x Reader
Notes: This is a mess, but i love Bunny and could not find any fics for Bunny x reader so here we are. This is OOC for Bunny, so he's not awful, but he's still annoying tho.

Chapter 1: Everyone needs a Judy
My first week in Hampden was completely uneventful, as expected. Why would someone like me, who enjoys a peaceful life, choose a small college town over a bustling city full of adventures? Well, I prefer my days uneventful. I appreciate the quiet and the sense of community in more intimate settings, and Hampden is no exception.
The town looks exactly as advertised in the pamphlets: winding roads surrounded by forests, the trees full of orange leaves as autumn approaches; downtown is just as picturesque, with buildings and houses that look as old as time. But the best part is the campus itself, so expansive it could be its own separate community. I couldn’t wait to get settled and start exploring everything—every store and restaurant, every inch of the campus, and every book in the libraries. Even a new, smaller place feels exciting for someone used to a similar environment.
While looking for my room in my assigned dorm, I ran into who’d become my very first friend here, Judy Poovey. Turns out my room is right across the hall from hers, which has been very convenient for our late-night gossip and wine sessions. Judy is from California, and she embodies that laid-back vibe. From her wardrobe choices (completely inappropriate for the chilly Hampden weather) to her energy and free-spirited nature, she instantly lights up any room she enters. She showed me the cool places to hang out, introduced me to some of her other friends, and kept me from getting lost in the maze of buildings that make up our not-so-little college. Our friendship blossomed in that way where opposites attract.
As much as I enjoyed the contrast between Judy’s vibrant personality and my own, more introverted nature, I found myself needing quiet corners to escape the overwhelming social life that suddenly surrounded me and recharge my energy. I always had a hard time making friends back home; apparently, all I needed was to be adopted by an extrovert! I tried to blend in and interact with the people who came and went from Judy’s room, but honestly, the only one I truly liked was Judy. Her other friends weren't quite my crowd, so I did my best to avoid them without being outright rude.
My favorite hideout spots for when Judy turned our dorm’s hallways into a party zone with her seemingly endless supply of tequila (courtesy of her older brother, I later found out) included a tall tree near the big, ugly fountain at the center of campus, the small library near an old building so covered in vines I almost missed it the first time (not the main library near the entrance), and a little quiet café that served the foulest donuts you’ll ever taste.
I soon settled into an easy routine: going to my classes in the mornings, doing some homework in the afternoons, hanging out with Judy most nights, watching movies, drinking, and catching up on our very different days. I also made time for my quiet spots to read when I needed alone time. And just like that, I had a new life in Hampden.

Thinking again about how Suzanne esentially subverted the "beloved famous man that is actually a horrible person in real life" with Finnick, who is the complete opposite of that.
Finnick has this whole image costructed around him by the people that abused him for years: the Capitol's darling, their golden boy, the sex symbol of Panem, the man that has countless lovers but leaves them constantly and doesn't look back etc. And you would expect, initially, to meet a man that retains at least a part of that persona in his day to day life. But Finnick doesn't, not even one bit.
You see instead a man that is deeply in love and completely devoted to the one woman he quite literally adores, a man that protects Mags, his old mentor and his mother figure, as much as he can, a man that wouldn't leave Johanna behind, a man that gathers whatever strenght he has left to speak publicly about the abuse inflicted upon him at the government's hands; the opposite of what the Capitol's media and reputation made him out to be.

Thinking about the fact that, to pull Gale from the stone and get him in the game at all, you have to decide to try to touch an extremely dangerous looking swirling mass of unstable magic. Something that is, objectively, a terrible idea
Like, the options it gives you are to either touch the sigil or leave, and if you leave you just... don't get Gale in the party
You have to take the risk. You have to let your curiosity override your common sense. You have to look at this unstable, possibly dangerous malfunctioning magic sigil and go "...Ok, but what if I poke it?"
In short, to get Gale in your party, you have to do exactly what he would in that situation, and indulge in a moment of reckless curiosity. And I just think that's delightful

(late) day 4: underappreciated oc. i looked through all my active ocs and i haven't drawn mumbojumbo balderdash in years at this point...my bad, little sock thing. it's largely because i'm more interested in my serious story ocs at this point, and mumbojumbo is from my developing kid's books era. and also i think my old style suited em better, i find them harder to draw nowadays

i vote that next year instead of reading Dracula we do a Jeeves & Wooster Book Club. those two never got the rabid tumblr shipping fandom they deserved (disqualified for the sheer technicality of being published a century too soon). we must correct this injustice

#poorly drawn mdzs#mdzs#lan wangji#jin zixun#wei wuxian#su she#(Su She needs to have his carrie moment before he can have his Carrie Moment.#Which means he needs to exist as a punching bag before he can hit 'em with the rebound).#My first draft of this comic had WWX slurping LWJ's wine per actual scene canon#As it really is a great scene of how WWX is willing to absorb the scandal and harm that befalls others.#It had a lot less to do with it being LWJ and more so that WWX just happens to be the kind of person who refuses to turn a blind eye.#It could have been any Lan who was being pressured (inappropriately) to drink (do not pressure anyone to drink irl PLEASE).#Because this is a romance plot it of course *is* LWJ. But don't forget that in this moment they aren't on great terms.#It's not a knight in shining armor moment - it's a 'you were being treated unjustly and I have the power to absolve you from that.'#And as we are very soon about to see - WWX certainly cannot turn away from those who need aid he can provide.#And like Jin Guangyao; that kindness is also his downfall.#By the way - that you all for the amazing community commentary on the last comic. I really loved reading everyone's thoughts!#Suyao shippers...I get it now. You had me at 'wen ning and WWX parallels'. I'll be back with a treat for you soon.#And yes 'everyone' does include the ironically named tumblr user jin zixun.#Who blocked me right before the character makes his pd-mdzs debut.#I hope you are well. You seem like you were having a real bad time yesterday.

I do think Blazing Saddles handled its one depiction of native americans very poorly, and the full extent of its representation of chinese workers on the railroad is they were literally just there. not even one single speaking line. unclear if this is worse or better than the redface.
it's fucking phenomenal at lampooning antiblack racism though. extremely blatant, extremely funny satire, which is constantly and loudly saying "racism is the philosophy of the terminally stupid at best and morally depraved at worst, and we should all be pointing and laughing at them 24/7"
plus the main character is a heroic black man who has to navigate a whole lot of bullshit but is constantly smirking at the extraordinarily stupid racists and inviting the audience into the joke. the one heroic white character is a guy who was suicidally depressed until he met the protagonist and they just instantly became buds, and he's firmly in a supporting role the whole time and happy to be there. the protagonist saves the day with the help of his black friends from the railroad, and uses the position of power he was given to uplift not only those friends, but all the railroad workers of other minorities too, in an explicit show of solidarity.
anyone saying "Blazing Saddles is racist" had better be talking about its treatment of non-black minorities. it had better not be such superficial takes as "oh but they say the n-word all the time" or "they have nazis and the kkk in there!" because goddamn if that's the full extent of your critique I very seriously suggest you read up on media analysis. there is too much going over your head, you need to learn to recognize satire.
