Hello Coral~~💖💖✨✨ Congrats on your 2.7k Milestone 💐🎂✨ Like many others, I love your villainess au and happy that many people is supporting it ✨✨ For the event request, I have some brain rots about Sebek Silver Malleus being in a friendly culture (maybe theyre visiting Yuu's hometown and its really welcoming like the people from Kalim's Hometown)!! they refer to them as like their family, gifts them foods the very moment they visited, and not bothered that theyre faes since they know theyre just creatures who protects nature~ i think its a nice culture shock for them considering how secluded and proper briar valley is ✨

↳ Getting Culture Shock from Your Hometown
feat: Sebek ❋ Silver ❋ Malleus genre: fluff, note: no pronouns were used for reader, established relationships, set before Book 7 (mostly because I haven’t finished it yet),
A lot of the scenarios are inspired and modeled after my experiences growing up, which is very Southeast Asia-coded. So, I apologise if this is not actually how you envision. Hope you still enjoy, though.

You’d be absolutely evil if you didn’t even try to warn your uptight boyfriend. I’d love you for that
Sebek has finally found his match as his own voice gets drowned out by the boisterous market vendors and customers, but he’s more surprised by the forward way everyone seems to address each other.
“Sir, it’s a pleasure to meet you, I’m-”
“Sebek, he’s not really my uncle. We call everyone that.”
You would have to keep Sebek on tight hold because he’s a gullible green bean. The freshman burns in embarrassment at every “handsome boy” or “strong guy” comment calling out for his attention. He won’t lie, his ego is inflated quite a bit but it’s still strange to hear someone other than you call him that.
On the other hand, he’s not too sure how to feel when vendors of all ages were calling out to you the same way. You may be used to it but Sebek isn’t, especially if he’s not used to calling you beautiful or cute himself yet.
But, he could take this as a challenge to improve himself. For every compliment they give, he’ll give you tenfold. This he swears!
To your luck, it seems that the market the two of you were visiting was hosting a mini concert as music and lights filled a well-known open space near the market.
Visitors and locals young and old surrounded the space, either resting while eating their confections or grooving to the catchy tune of the music blasting through the speakers.
Then, a particularly famous song began to play, and Sebek flinched as the crowd suddenly burst in excited cheers and laughter, you included. Many women and men jumped to their feet, with some confidently running to the center of the space. You jumped to your feet as they did, but you chose to stand close to your confused boyfriend.
Sebek’s expression was a comedic masterpiece as he watched you and many others start this synchronized sequence of silly movement, identical to the minor beat. Those who didn’t join were still clapping in unison while joyously laughing.
What sort of local ritual was this?
The synchronous dance was short lived, and soon people were divided into those who resumed their previous activity or continued swaying to the melody.
You fell into the latter category, even reaching to Sebek hoping to persuade him to join you.
Sebek was shocked and a little offended. He was a man of great honor and pride. He’d rather be caught dead than to devolve himself to this undignified manner of dance, if you could even call it so. No, he would never stoop so low, even if the string lights gave off this tempting glow around you, your soft hand still reaching out to him while you looked at him so lovingly…
Well, the knight-in-training thought he could allow such exceptions once in a while, especially when you smiled so beautifully when he joined you on the dance floor.
Don’t let Sebek know, but he became sort of a local online sensation as someone slyly took a video of him smiling so softly at you after putting on such a grumpy persona.
Every reshare of this video was always paired with the caption, “Scary man turns into puppy for his lover”

See, you can’t tell if your community is being especially friendly, or maybe it’s just that the beautiful young man next to you is just too irresistible to ignore.
All the chatty aunties were cooing over Silver and even the laid-back uncles sitting around were praising the cut of Silver’s muscular figure.
But, you won’t say anything because you just wanted Silver to smile and bask in the well-deserved praises.
“The locals here are quite friendly to strangers like me, even offering small treats.”
“Mhm, they sure are.”
Silver is amazed by the seamless blend of close bonds and community from what he sees. Customers casually chatting with workers as children run around without worries in this homely environment.
In comparison to them, Silver felt a little inadequate as he couldn’t express himself as openly as the locals do so easily.
But maybe because they’re so open with everyone, he feels this sense of safety to try.
“So you’re not from around here, are you?” The kind woman asked the silver-haired man as her fingers deftly package and wrap some snacks you two picked out to share with others back in NRC.
“No, I’m actually from Briar Valley.”
“Hmm, that’s the fae kingdom, right?” The woman’s curiosity peaked. “Are you fae, then? I couldn’t tell.”
“Well no, I’m human. I was adopted by my father who’s from Briar Valley.”
“Just him? No one else?” The store owner asked without looking at Silver once, instead moving back and forth to get things done behind the counter, but her attention was still locked on him.
“There were a few others I grew up with, but my father was the one who raised me”
It was only then when the busy woman slowed down a smidge, pausing for a moment before untying the bag that held your snacks. You watched her tossed a few more small packets of snacks near her counter.
“These are very popular, share them with your father.” She looked sternly into your boyfriend’s iridescent eyes, the first time in a while since you’ve been in the store. “Make sure to visit him, okay?”
Silver wanted to protest, to correct the misunderstanding. The snacks the two of you picked out already included some for Lilia and he couldn’t possibly ask for more without paying.
It was up to you to intervene. “Just give up, Silver. You can’t change a woman’s mind.”
The store owner nodded. “Listen to the smart one. Just take it, I insist.”
With a sliver of guilt but a lot of warmth, Silver eventually accepted the kind woman’s offering before leaving the establishment.
What Silver didn’t see however, was you sneaking a few snacks and a drink onto the counter with adequate fare tucked underneath. You shared a look with the store owner before leaving, playfully staring her down to not to refuse your offering.
The store owner let out a laugh, thinking what a cute couple you were.

Regardless of wherever he goes, Malleus sticks out like a sore thumb, a very intimidating sore thumb.
Eyes naturally glance at him with curiosity throughout the market, amazed by the regal figure walking around, like a celebrity strolling around the local areas.
If your hometown speaks another language, some of the market vendors would tell you not-so sneakily how attractive your lover was while Malleus was none the wiser.
But, as curious as the humans were, they were quick to accept him as is, which shocked the fair-skinned fae. It wasn’t as though he was being avoided or judged, but rather the community took him and his inhuman appearance as typical. Undaunted by anything, the nosy sellers would joke and compliment him like any other walking around here.
“What a handsome fae you are, you can be a model!” “And tall! He can reach the top of our tent, haha!”
Malleus can tell his horns and ears are eye-catching to say the least, but everyone was quick to grow accustomed to his features, even warning him to watch his head should he bump into anything in this crowded alley.
“Are those with my features a common prevalence in your homeland?”
“No, you’re a rarity around here. But that doesn't mean you don’t belong here any less.”
“Ah, so this is how a beautiful soul is cultivated,” Malleus thought, gazing softly as you and a kind merchant searched around the store for a shirt that could fit the future king.
The day was setting, and you and Malleus decided to rest at a popular park that was famous for its view of the town. You weren’t alone as both locals and visitors filled the space, either resting or making memories with their friends and families.
Then, you heard a whisper from a timid voice behind the two of you.
“Um, mister.” You turned around to see some local children looking curiously at Malleus.
“Are you fae?” The eldest boy spoke first, nervously clutching his jacket.
When Malleus calmly responded in affirmation, the other children lit up with excited smiles.
“You’re super tall, taller than my dad!” Another child exclaimed, “Are all fae tall like you?”
Malleus smirked rather haughtily. “Very few others, fae or otherwise, stand on par to myself.”
”I’m the tallest in my class!” The eldest boy blurted out, even puffing his chest and slightly leaning on his toes. “It’s because I drink my milk everyday. Do you drink milk?”
You abruptly nudged your lover before intervening. “Yes he does, which is why you need to drink milk and other healthy food to keep growing.”
A little girl, hidden behind the first two children, spoke out. “How long is your hair? My hair is really long too!”
She pushed her long braided hair to the front, comparing her neatly combed hair to Malleus’s direction.
“Your hair is quite long indeed, perhaps matching mine in length at first glance.” Malleus commented back, amused by the children’s competitive nature.
After sharing all of their thoughts, the curious children finally left when their guardians called them back, waving at the two of you before running out of sight. Now free, Malleus looked to you with curiosity of his own gleaming in his striking green eyes.
“The offspring of this land are inquisitive as they are fearless,” Malleus smiled in your direction. “I wonder if all children hailed from here shared these traits.”
Were you like them as a child?
You picked up on his unspoken question and replied with a cheeky expression. “Wouldn’t you like to know~”
Would he? Would he like to know if you were the type to run around so carefree and see the world with such interest and curiosity. If your future children would be like those endearing little ones just now…
Yes, he would.

Sunday’s worldview sucks, his outlook and perception of himself and others sucks… and that’s why he’s so interesting
In honor of his drip marketing releasing tonight (or maybe yesterday for you depending on when I get this out), I’d like to talk about why I think Sunday’s beliefs and perspective is very, very flawed and how his own biases rather than the actions of those who oppose him are what led to his downfall.
Sunday is entirely responsible for his own failure, and that’s exactly why he’s incredible.
This contains mentions of leaks and spoilers for the Penacony quest line… you have been warned
To start with, oh my lord do Sunday’s preconceived notions kick him in the ass.
I think the best example of this is his conversation with Dr. Ratio in which Ratio pretends to betray Aventurine, selling out his plan to Sunday. Now, what’s incredibly interesting about this exchange is that Ratio doesn’t fully lie to Sunday once in this exchange, rather he says half truths and makes vague statements which Sunday himself interprets as being in support of him.
Take what Ratio said the whole, “A scholar knows their position and wouldn’t forsake it for the sake of petty pride.” In retrospect, we know this line is actually referring to Aventurine- aka Ratio is saying he’s not just going to sell him out to Sunday for the sake of information about the Stellaron (which he would get anyways if the IPC attained Penacony, plus Mr. Incredibly Dedicated Knowledge Spreader probably has other means of gaining it then through The Family).
However, since Ratio answered the invitation Sunday gave him, Sunday assumes that Ratio is on his side, believes his cause is righteous, and that he won Ratio over with offering him information about the Stellaron, therefore making that previous statement of Ratio’s null, because Sunday interpreted it as, “convince me this is worth my time + prove to me you’re correct,” when it really meant, “there is no way in hell I’m about to sacrifice my friend to you, and there is nothing you could offer me to make me do so you crazed lunatic.”
But why did Sunday not weigh the options? Why did he unquestioningly believe his perception of the situation was the correct one?
Well- partly it’s because Ratio and Aventurine were doing their damndest to make it seem like they hate each other and that their plan was going off the rails.
But the more important part is that even without Ratio saying a word or even accepting the invitation, Sunday already believes he’d be on his side.
Let me demonstrate this through Sunday's perspective:
I am a righteous person, I am doing the correct things, my worldview is the correct one. Dr. Ratio is also a righteous person who seems to be doing the correct things. Therefore, since we are both on the side of good, and Aventurine is clearly not on that side considering his status as Stoneheart and his negative relationship to Ratio, then Ratio will naturally want to be on my side. After all, the good guys work together, do they not?- and together will vanquish this evil villain.
This perspective is a simple one, but Sunday’s unshaking belief (up until the end of 2.2) that he is 100% in correct and in the right, that any and everyone who he also perceives to be in the right (like Ratio) would believe/side with him without truly needing to be convinced. Sunday doesn’t come out the gate offering the Stellaron information- he only keeps it as a backup just in case.
However, this is complicated because Sunday is also not an idiot, and he’s extremely paranoid, so he’s going to make sure that the way he views the world is 100% correct on the off chance he’s wrong which could foil his plans- which is why he invited Ratio in the first place. Nevertheless, this isn’t him hunting for new perspectives, but rather him desiring to prove himself right again, which is a bad thing because Sunday is very much not right.
A perfect world is a perfect pris- *gets shot*
Reference that approximately 2 ½ people will get beside, Sunday’s ideology that he is fully confident in.. sucks. It sucks ass, it’s terrible, and let me explain.
I’m not going to try going over all the little intricacies to how the dreamscape works because I a) don’t know and b) don’t particularly care because they aren’t relevant to the argument I will be making- which is that Sunday’s ideology is inherently flawed and immediately falls apart under scrutiny.
Essentially, he desires to create the perfect fake reality, enveloping the whole galaxy in Ena’s dream and fulfilling their every desire and whim within it, with himself as the sacrifice to allow it to exist. The seven rest days, no illness, no pain, no challenge, you get the idea.
And, this perfect world paradoxically sucks ass because of its perfectness.
Improving society is great, eliminating hardship is great, increasing quality of life is great.
But declawing reality itself- absolutely not.
I’m going to try to explain this through my favorite strangely specific anecdote- the process of obtaining diamonds in Minecraft.
Stay with me now.
You essentially have two options- go out and mine them yourselves the hard way, which takes hours, gives you less diamonds per the amount of time spent on it, and likely with you exhausting some of your resources like food, torches, and tools which you will need to replenish.
Or.
You can just.. get them from creative mode or commands, and you can get as many as your heart desires.
However, despite the fact that option one is harder, gives you less diamonds and takes significantly more time, I, as well as hopefully you, would pick it every time (at least in a survival world, although honestly idk why you would even need pure diamonds in creative).
And that’s because the first option is rewarding.
You did not earn the diamonds you easily and magically summoned into your inventory, there is no struggle, no journey, no challenge to it, therefore it feels entirely unremarkable, as compared to the feeling you (hopefully) get from mining diamonds, which makes you happy because you earned it. Yeah, it was harder, but the process itself is fun- the anticipation of not knowing when you’re going to find them, if at all, the danger, the fighting and digging and mauvering you will have to do in the process.
And with this unconventional example, the fatal flaw with Sunday’s ideology is revealed- it’s boring.
It’s boring as shit.
Yeah, for the first few months or even years it might be enjoyable- having everything you could ever want served on a silver platter. However, humans are a) inherently a bit greedy and b) desire challenge, and this scenario fulfilles neither of those things. Naturally having everything means your desire for more can never be fulfilled, leaving the wanter forever unsatisfied, whereas in the real world, things are truly out of your reach, meaning that even if you never end up getting them, they are still a tangible thing just out of reach… as strange at it sounds, we like being tantalilus-ed more than you think. After all, if what you want is so easy to get, you will never run out of things to want, and eventually that gets draining.
Continually, if everything is easy, if everything is just right there whenever you want it- existence itself no longer has stakes.
And that’s the problem, because much like how a story with no stakes is extremely hard to find compelling, a life with no stakes feels boring at best and downright pointless and meaningless at worst.
I’m just saying, there is a reason why the Nihility was such a strong presence and problem in Penacony.
Anyways, like with the diamond problem, a lack of stakes means that nothing you do feels rewarding, because you didn’t truly earn it.
Which is where the Sunday’s idea of a “perfect” reality falls apart, because the most enjoyable reality for humans to live in is not one literally devoid of any possible flaw.
So why does he believe in it? When it’s so clearly flawed?
Well, it’s because Sunday doesn’t think a better alternative exists.
The world made you this way.. and you chose to continue what it started.
I’m sure I don’t need to repeat the story of the Charmony Dove all over again because trust me, we’ve all heard it before. Nonetheless, it reveals something important both about Sunday’s personality and his ideology- he’s fundamentally a defeatist.
He doesn’t believe that there is any alternative for the dove, that it could ever be able to fly again with its deformed nature, so instead of being “cruel” and letting it “inevitably fall to its death,” he’d rather keep it in a cage all its life where it has no freedom, but at least it would he alive and “happy”.
And this is where his defeatism reveals itself- Sunday doesn’t believe reality itself can get better because improving it when there are so many factors and things out of your control is hard at best and impossible at worst. Therefore, he resorts to creating an escapist, false version of it- a perfect golden cage, because constructing that is far, far easier than trying to help the dove fly again.
The universe has endless possibilities, if Robin and Sunday had tried hard enough, they probably could have found a solution. Sure, they were both children, so the capabilities necessary to even attempt that were likely far out of their reach. However, it was still possible, but Sunday doesn’t believe in possibilities- he believes he’s right above all else, which is where that stubbornness and arrogance comes into play again.
Sunday doesn’t think better solutions than his exists, and he believes everyone would could possibly stand in his noble way are either villains, or horribly misguided; so it’s his job to show them the light.
This is why he lets the Express Crew + Firefly try to change his mind- Sunday wasn’t actually interesting in shifting his perspective, or really what they wanted to say. Rather, he just wanted to let them say there peace, because well, Sunday’s a good, righteous person (at least from his perspective), and good, righteous people listen to others. Good, righteous people will let these poor, ignorant souls offer their foolish words before exposing them to the harsh truth- or at least that’s how Sunday sees it.
Moreover, this also explains his arrogance. If he believes his worldview is the sole correct one, then why listen to anyone else? He’s this world's savior, or at least he’s been raised to believe that- so why not relish in it? He enjoys punishing Aventurine, enjoys the bastard who stood in the way of Sunday’s plans, shrinks away in “defeat” and get what he “deserves.” Despite how miserable it sounds, Sunday also takes pride in having to be a martyr to bring about his beautiful dream. The belief that he is a selfless, good person is a selfish desire of his, even if a genuine one, and it’s what leads to his downfall.
Sunday could have actually listened. He could have reevaluated his loss to Aventurine and realized it was not through the others clever deception, but through his own biases. He could have actually taken the Express’s and Firefly’s advice. He could have looked for other avenues to help the people he truly does care about.
Despite Gopher Wood’s manipulation- Sunday’s decision to go forward with the pain is entirely his own, because he truly believes- even with all the evidence for the contrary- that he is correct.
And that’s why he fails. Not because of the Express. Not because of Ratio. Not because of Aventurine. Not because of Gopher, or even the rest of The Family.
No, Sunday fails because he is flawed, and he is wrong, and he is the arrogant, selfish and biased one, and his worldview is wrong.
So what now?
This might have seemed like I think Sunday is pure evil and irredeemable, but I think it’s quite the opposite.
He has very good intentions, and he does genuinely care about it the well being of other people around him. He gives Aventurine a chance to prove his innocence, even if he never intended on changing, he does listen to what the Express + Firefly have to say. He pauses when Robin shows up, as she’s the one person (until the very end) he’s actually willing to accept the perspective of. The whole reason he ended up here in the first place is because Gopher Wood twisted Sunday’s good intentions into a fatal arrogance and utmost belief in a flawed worldview.
However, what really sells me on Sunday’s goodness is when eyes widen at that final moment, the light draining from him as he realizes he is wrong.
And once Sunday realizes he is wrong, those flaws that bind him can finally be examined and improved upon, as they all stem from that worldview he no longer believes in.
His whole life, Sunday has been enacting out someone else’s plan for him, even if he’s come to internalize it over time, at the end of the day- it was never his, and without it, he’s empty.
Which is exactly why the only place he can go now is the Express, and the only thing left for him is redemption and growth.
Dan Heng is right- Sunday has a noble soul, and now that he has stopped believing in himself, he’s no longer shackled by the past either. Improvement or utter demise (in a likely nihility-flavored manner) are his only options remaining.
I understand a lot of people want to see him become a Stellaron Hunter, but imo, that just does nothing for him. He’d still be following someone else’s path/script, and Mr. I Will Sacrifice My Whole Existence To Become The Sun To Illuminate These Wandering Souls probably wouldn’t be so on board with the whole.. terrorism part of being a SH. Like yeah, they are our friends (kinda), but they absolutely kill innocent people and cause millions of dollars in property damage to people who don’t deserve it.
Also, being on the Express Just Makes Sense. This is a game about choices, a game about accepting the mistakes of your past, but not letting them define you in order to move on and forge a better future for yourself and others- with the Astral Express + Trailblaze as a concept being the literal embodiment of it. There’s a reason when you switch to the Trailblazer’s POV in stories, it includes Kafka’s most important words to us- “When you have the chance to make a choice, make one you won’t regret.”
Therefore, I hope the choices Sunday will make in 2.7 are ones he’s proud of, and I can’t wait to see how exactly they get him on board with the crew, because there still is a LOT of development he needs to do before then.
Anyways, thank you so much for reading, and if you have any thoughts I’d love to hear them. This was a stream of consciousness mess, but I hope it was still valuable nonetheless! Also if you are reading this on the day it was written, I hope we don’t get disappointed by his drip marketing!

Okay, so here’s the thing about Zim and GIR…
When talking about the idea that Zim might have some affection towards GIR - a lot of people bring up the fact that, like, GIR is even still functioning in the first place. After all, why would the Famously Sadistic and Callous Invader Zim keep around an evil minion who messes up as often as GIR does? Rather than scrap him for parts or just throw him in the trash? ….Unless he had some sort of emotional attachment to that minion in the first place?
But that’s… I’m actually not sure that argument 100% works. Because there’s one important variable that argument discards. GIR isn’t just a regular ol’ robotic minion - he is a special top-secret model SIR Unit personally gifted to Zim by the Almighty Tallests.
Tumblr media
Zim cannot fully discard GIR as a worthless garbage robot that’s nothing but a hindrance to his mission the same way that he can’t discard Earth as a worthless garbage planet with no value to the Irken Empire - because that would be confronting and admitting that he is not actually a great and respected Invader in the eyes of his Tallests.
But I still think there are some other evidence to the idea that Zim likes GIR. Because, I mean, Zim is incredibly lenient towards him.
Tumblr media
Zim… feels bad for yelling at GIR and making him cry.
Tumblr media
Zim. Feels. Bad. For. Yelling.
This alone is incredible evidence for Zim’s affection towards GIR.
And that is absolutely not something Zim will do for just any minion. Just look at how he treats his Computer, and not to mention all those poor saps from Hobo 13.
Tumblr media
The fact that in his deluded world, GIR is supposed to be a top-of-the-line personal gift from the Tallests certainly plays a part. But I also think that while these delusions might explain why he doesn’t throw GIR in the trash… Zim is very good at twisting reality and logic and his own ideology for the sake of justifying his own selfish desires.
If he actually wanted to hurt GIR, he could’ve very easily rationalized it as ‘you are supposed to be the bestest most prided minion in my army of doom and a personal gift from the Almighty Tallest themselves therefore I will hold you to a higher standard and punish you accordingly’. But instead he is incredibly lenient with GIR and his constant screw-ups and obnoxious whims.
So my read of why Zim is actually fond of GIR in his own weird way is very much tied to, like, a Big Thing about how I read Zim’s character in general. Which is, Zim’s delusion, like Ogres, has layers. Like, there are some aspects of reality that just genuinely never penetrated his thick Irken skull - and there are some things he does realize on some level even as he tries as hard as he can to convince himself otherwise.
So I think on some level, as much as he outwardly denies it, Zim is aware of how much he messed up things for the Irken Empire in ‘Impending Doom 1’ and how the Almighty Tallests really view him. This is basically how his thought process is described in the Pilot -
Tumblr media
And it’s also supported with how Vasquez describes Zim’s similarities to Dib in some of the ‘Florpus’ interviews.
Tumblr media
Dib is obviously painfully aware of the ways his father does not respect him - but for Zim to similarly want to prove his own amazingness to the Tallest, he has to be aware on some level that the Tallest don’t acknowledge that he’s amazing. And I think it also matches with his interactions with the various Tallests in the ‘The Trial’ Flashbacks. Because he wasn’t originally that feverishly devoted, eager to prove himself and deluded about being beloved by the Tallests as he is right now.
That’s a trait he has developed either in response to his spectacular failure in ‘Operation Impending Doom 1’ or just to Red and Purple - who already knew him beforehand and decided they can’t stand him - rising to power. He is aware on some level of how the Tallests perceive him, and while he cannot consciously acknowledge it, his behavior is him overcompensating for it.
And I think… Zim projects this aspect of himself on GIR. He sees himself in GIR. Not the self he wants to see, the hypercompetent and beloved Invader. But the self he keeps denying - a devoted and loyal minion who despite messing up sometimes (or rather, all the goddamn time), is always eager to please and driven to prove himself.
Which… is also not a fully accurate view of himself, but like I said, it’s Layers of self-delusion. But that’s subconsciously how he perceives his own relationship with the Tallests and how he perceives GIR’s relationship to himself.
So Zim being so tolerant of GIR’s constant screw ups, never really seriously punishing him, always putting him in important positions in his schemes, always acquiesce to his stupid and annoying whims… that’s because he sees himself in GIR, and that’s how he would like the Tallests to treat him, that’s how he pretends the Tallests already treat him, and so that’s the treatment he gives GIR. He believes he deserves these infinite second chances and high-ranking roles in all of the Empire’s universe-conquering plans despite his constant failures and that’s what he keeps doing with GIR despite being just as frustrated with him as the Tallests are with Zim.
And the thing is, because of Zim’s Extreme Projection to the Max - he kinda got the entirely wrong idea about GIR. Zim is not exactly that eager-to-please loyal drone of the empire - but GIR is not that at all, not even remotely. While GIR might have some affection towards Zim, he doesn’t care at all about the mission - much less being ‘allowed’ to do Important Things Vital for the fate of the Zim’s latest scheme. He would much rather goof off and watch TV then be given any sort of responsibility.
Again, the cupcake scene is very illustrative. Zim thinks GIR is upset because he feels very bad about screwing up their mission and thus is immediately forgiving - but GIR was only sad because he ran out of Cupcake to eat.
Tumblr media
With how distractible and chaotic and generally detached from reality GIR is, it’s… kinda hard to determine when he’s trying to obey Zim’s orders but failing and when he just never really gave much of a shit about them in the first place.
Tumblr media
But he’s usually not even a little bit bothered or upset about the idea that his inaction has put his ‘master’ in mortal danger.
I guess the funny thing is, like, there are times where Zim needs an extra pair of arms or eyes on board - times where he needs the skills of… maybe not GIR but at least a hypothetical fully-functional SIR Unit. But there are many other occasions where GIR is nothing but a burden and annoyance to him and the thing is that they both would’ve been happier if GIR was just allowed to stay home to watch TV and eat babies but Zim keeps putting him in important positions because Zim likes GIR but he’s unable to understand what GIR is actually like beyond an image of all the projected insecurities he can't admit about himself.
And of course, as we all know, if GIR was actually driven to fulfill their mission - that turns out very bad for Zim very very quickly.

Raph Being Violent, Supportive, And Violently Supportive For Almost 3 Minutes
Requested by @maddys-nerd-blog: Season Five
My Turtle of Choice: Raphael
Video/Comment Spoilers for Heart Of Evil:
Disclaimer: There was one scene that I couldn't save, but it was basically just Raph getting the air strangled out of him. I tried several times but it never worked. Still not sure why. If you want to see it, feel free to go watch the episode!
Raph saw this rock and thought: Yk, this must work like my t-phone. Lemme just tap it a couple times until the screen starts glowing-
Tumblr media
It's even more amusing to me because I have a garden stone in my backyard that looks just like that from this angle 🤣
I love watching Raph in the backgrounds of these scenes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He’s either flat on his face or dawning his inner superhero.
There is no inbetween 🤣🤣
Also he would have LOVED their argument over the TurtleMech- his absolutely CRAVING for chaos is not to be underestimated!
They do this so little that whenever it happens it’s basically an episode focal point every time. Raph would kill for them, but he also would enjoy watching the kill each other /jk
Tumblr media
OKAY BUT LEGITIMATELY-
Why do I get low-key pride vibes from Raph here??

Is it because he’s doing what Raph’s always encouraging them to do?
Is it because he’s standing up against Leo? Taking matters into his own hands? Following his gut? His anger?
I’ve always wanted a dissection of this moment but I have yet to find one or discover it for myself. Any thoughts fellow fans???

Ohh could I get CG Jack Krauser headcanons of any kind!! :0 (if you need me to be more specific or anything I can!!)
Tumblr media
•Krauser’s military background means he has a strong sense of duty and protection, especially toward those who are vulnerable. If he found himself responsible for an age regressor, his first priority would be to ensure their safety at all costs, often going into full-bodyguard mode without hesitation
•Tough Love with a Soft Spot : Krauser may not be the most openly affectionate person, but his care would manifest through actions rather than words. He’d set up secure environments, create safe routines, and make sure you had everything you needed. He might gruffly insist on things like wearing a jacket or eating properly, masking his concern under a facade of practicality
•With his military background, Krauser would emphasize routines, which can be comforting to an age regressor. He would establish clear schedules for meals, playtime, and rest, believing that structure would help them feel safe. He’s strict but flexible enough to adjust when needed, especially if he notices the regressor is overwhelmed
•Krauser’s idea of comfort isn’t overly soft or overly emotional; it’s practical and reliable. He’d provide simple, unflashy items that serve a purpose : sturdy blankets, snacks that are easy to eat, or a safe place to sleep. He’d probably get more traditional toys like puzzles or simple blocks, favoring things that also help you develop skills, seeing play as another form of training
•Jack isn’t one to show a lot of affection, but small moments happen, like a pat on the head or a firm yet gentle hand on the shoulder when he senses you need reassurance. These gestures are subtle but significant, showing that he’s there without making a big fuss
•Despite his tough exterior, Krauser is observant. He quickly picks up on cues from you, understanding when you're anxious, scared, or simply need a break. He’s not great with comforting words but knows when to give space, when to distract, or when to offer quiet companionship !
•Krauser’s military mindset values strength, so he subtly encourages you to try things on your own, offering support without being overbearing. He’d watch closely, ready to step in if needed, but always with an eye toward helping you build confidence
•When you're feeling anxious, Krauser might tell stories from his military days, leaving out the harsher details but focusing on adventures and challenges he’s faced. It’s his way of connecting without diving too deeply into emotions, and you might find comfort in the steady, familiar sound of his voice
•Living in a dangerous world, Krauser uses his resourcefulness to improvise when necessary. If he can’t get something traditional for you, he’ll make do, turning a tarp into a tent or using field supplies to create makeshift toys. It’s not fancy, but it’s effective, and he’s proud of finding ways to keep you safe and entertained
•Krauser is a man of few words himself, so he understands the value of non-verbal communication. When dealing with a non-verbal regressor, he becomes highly attuned to their body language, facial expressions, and gestures
•He’s patient, never forcing you to speak, and instead uses simple yes/no questions, gestures, or visual aids like flashcards to communicate. Krauser would make sure you feel heard and understood, even without words, by responding to your needs quickly and without judgment
•He’d also take pride in learning what each gesture means, almost like it’s a tactical skill, further deepening his silent bond with you
•Krauser’s instinct when dealing with a sad age regressor is to fix the situation. He doesn’t always have the right words, but he’ll sit beside them quietly, offering his presence as a form of comfort
•If you're crying or upset, he’ll hand you a tissue or a small item to hold, not making a big deal of it but ensuring you have something tangible to ground you. If the sadness persists, he might offer a change of scenery, suggesting a walk or a small distraction like a game. His approach is gentle but straightforward : no forced cheerfulness, just steady support and quiet understanding
•If you wake up from a nightmare, Krauser responds immediately, alert and ready to reassure you! He knows that fear needs to be faced head-on, so he calmly checks the room, ensuring everything is safe, showing you there’s nothing to fear
•He might sit on the edge of the bed, offering a hand to hold or rubbing your back in quiet reassurance. His voice would be low and calm as he reassures you that you're safe with him. If you need further comfort, he’d stay with you until you fall asleep again, keeping watch and making sure no more nightmares disturb you
•Tantrums don’t faze Krauser; he’s dealt with far worse in the field. When an age regressor throws a tantrum, he remains calm and unflappable, letting the storm pass without feeding into it. He stands by, ready to intervene only if it gets out of control, but otherwise gives them space to express their feelings
•He sets clear boundaries, no hitting or breaking things, and sticks to them firmly but without anger. Once the tantrum subsides, he doesn’t scold or criticize. Instead, he offers a practical solution, like a quiet time or a favorite activity to help you reset, teaching you that feelings are okay, but they must be managed responsibly
Tumblr media
If you're in the basic criteria , are DSMP fans, vivziep0p fans , h0tel/h3lluva b0ss fans, Owl h0use fans, St4r butterfly fans, Ghibli fans, ddlg/abdl blogs, nsfw/k!nk blogs, anti-agere blogs, or anti Christians/Christianity blogs : just dont interact !

broooo thank GOD your talking about grindledore. Like they were the one who got me into the Marauders (and fandom in general!). They were everything to 12 yo me. I’ve been neglecting them for years and now you’ve awoken an age old beast that’s just filled to the brim with grindledore and shitty amvs.
anyways this is just a long winded way of saying I really love that your into them and would love to know your head cannons on them <3. (I am kicking my feet and giggling)
GRINDELDORES UNITE !!!!!!!
me and kara have been going crazy over them .. we watched dumbledores secrets the other day and we’re watching the other two this week 🤍 so here’s some of mine and kara’s yapping in neat little bullet points !!
neither one of them is good and neither one of them is bad. they both become leader figures for the oppossing sides (good and evil) out of pure spite and pride, refusing to back down. it’s canon that grindelwald regretted everything, and it’s canon that albus tells harry that he’s not a good man/and is power hungry. THEY COULDVE MET IN THE MIDDLE !!!!!! INSTEAD OF FEELING BETRAYED !!!! but they were so young and so ambitious and passionate and they were going to change the WORLD
i think that. if they had met in the middle / if we’re talking a canon divergence. they wouldve just continued to be a little morally fucked up, albus would become a professor but not headmaster, gellert wouldve been his creepy mysterious husband, and they wouldve just continue to experiment with dark arts on the weekends behind closed doors (<- and also. for sexual reasons)
since we’re talking hc’s. aint no way albus didnt use the blood pact trying to strangle him if he even so much as thought of hurting grindelwald while wanking. so jot that down
i also think they wouldve been a better support system for harry together … albus is too reckless and doesn’t communicate or talks in fucking infuriating riddles and i think gellert is the only one who can sort of see through him and properly understand him. i think albus often wishes gellert were there whenever he had to make difficult decisions. gellert is canonically his equal, and albus misses him like a lung and can never tell anyone because gellert is the one he has to defeat.
i believe gellert wanted albus to save him during their last battle. he gives up so easily, doesn’t fight back just because his plan was revealed ? stupid. he wanted albus to save him. ’i was never your enemy, not then not now’
also. ’who will love you now, dumbledore?’ lots of people will. lots of people love and respect albus but NO ONE KNOWS HIMMMMM. the only two people who actually really know him is his brother who can barely stand to look at him and his first love whose locked up in nurmengard. and if i said albus is a lily evans variant . what then. never actually being seen . always cursed to be the saviour while harbouring so many complicated and dark urges .
we also talked about ^ the canon divergence and how gellert would be such an exasparated husband. everyone loves albus. gellert isn’t capable of being pleasant in the same way albus is pleasant. albus is able to blend in and make people like him, gellert was expelled from durmstrang and is a downright cunt who wont put in an effort to be liked by people he doesnt care about
i also believe they wouldve been in a secret relationship. like they meet in 1899 and even if it IS the wizarding world, i dont think they were that open-minded about same sex couples back then. so it would drive gellert INSANE !!! he can’t even put a possessive arm around albus at the #function to mark his territory . albus would tease him for how grumpy he is. as if albus isn’t listing dark spells in his head whenever someone flirts with gellert and whispers them in his ear while they fuck in some gala closet or whatever
also. me and kara fully and completely ignore the fucking quillin or deer or whatever kneeling for albus. like what the fuck was that. albus being pure of heart and having good intentions ? when it’s canon that he tells harry he’s not good and shouldnt be trusted in a position of power ? we are blatantly ignoring that as ’canon’ . like, the heartbreaking thing about them is that neither of them are bad and neither of them are good and they couldve met in the middle. but didnt . and the result is a two month summer fling haunting you for the rest of your lives until both of you die in your own towers. THEY COULDVE HAD IT ALLLLLLLL . THE ONLY ONE WHO KNOWS YOU IS THE PERSON YOU HAVE TO DEFEAT !!!!!!!!!!! sick and twisted .

Hellooooo, I love your writing and I've been following you since you started writing for Lesso but it's the first time I've requested something. So we could have something in which Leonora is in a bet of who can sleep with the Reader first but the reader is not the type to fall for the first one and Leonora falls in love the way Reader sees love. But since we love angust, the reader finds out about the bet... The end is all yours
Perfect prize | nsfw
Authors note~ I am so glad you have loved my Lesso work and it’s a pleasure to write this Drabble for you. Thank you for supporting me dear anon
Warnings- bet on who can sleep with us but we don’t know about it. Arguing betrayal confusion alludes to smut?
The dean of evil really wasn’t much of a betting woman, it made no sense to her until now. You were the worthy pride that opened her eyes to the world of betting against someone. A worthy prize. Now this isn’t to say that she saw you as an object, oh it was quite the opposite, but to think that that goodie two shoes ever prince would win made her blood boil. Lesso had an inkling you preferred the fairer sex and he was adamant that all you needed was him.
You were no easy prize that’s for sure, you came with a high cost of time and effort yet she found you worth this and more. Hell, she’d give you the whole world if you just asked her too. So naturally it took weeks upon weeks for her to finally crack down your walls and agree to spend an evening together. Meanwhile, the prince was having no luck what do ever, he even began to get bored and allow his eyes to stray. That night together was absolutely everything you’d both dreamed it would be, passionate and intimate, no silly bet could ruin the love that Lesso allowed to pour from her body while she made you go to heaven and back in one night.
To say the prince was jealous to see you leaving Leonora’s chambers was an understatement. He had to do something even if that meant hurting you. After all his feelings were lustful not love filled. In your credit, you didn’t even react when her told you, you kept cool and calm. But when he went away, you made your way to the Dean in a panic. Surly she wouldn’t use you like that right?
Wrong. She came clean about the bet and her reasoning and yet you couldn’t shake off the fact she kept it a secret. Hearing her say she loves you all just felt like lies. It wasn’t though but all you knew was how you felt used by her, tricked and lied to. Betrayed by what you thought was your perfect lover. Only to have it all ripped away. You are a worthy prize and Leonora couldn’t lose you now. Not after all this. So she worked on it, every day. Her commitment love passion and care shined out from every pore of her body. Maybe that’s why you forgave her. Maybe that’s why years later she came to be your wife. But she’d sworn of any kind of bets now that she had her perfect prize.

How would you personally rank the seven main Dragon Slayers from lowest to highest yandere potential?
I really hope I got all the Dragon Slayers who you referred to as Main right. From lowest to highest:
Wendy Marvell: Simply because she is not only the youngest of the 7 Main Dragon Slayers featured in the series but also because she has arguably the most rational and mature Exceed in Carla who she values not only as a good friend but also listens to. Carla has been with Wendy for years and always keeps an eye on her and lectures her if it comes down to it.
Natsu Dragneel: He’d be quite oblivious if he were to go Yandere for someone but I think because Natsu is pretty social and was blessed enough to grow up in the Fairy Tail guild where he always had support and friends even when his childhood friend Lisanna supposedly died. Happy isn’t the brightest Exceed and would surely support his crush in any shape or form but on the other hand there really are enough people who could talk or smack sense into him if it boils down to it.
Gajeel Redfox: Gajeel initially belonged to another guild who was on the more evil side but ever since having been taken in from the Fairy Tail guild I feel like he has embraced virtues the friendship and loyalty a whole lot better. He’s still more on a wild and impulsive side and that may lead to him developing an obsession over someone quicker than people like Natsu yet he still has a pretty good voice of reasoning in Panther Lily.
Laxus Dreyar: Laxus is similar to Gajeel as he was introduced as an antagonist in the earlier run of Fairy Tail but the reason why I would put him higher is because he strikes me as more of a loner. He has neither an Exceed nor does he seem like someone who would share his worries as easily with others, even his own Thunder God Tribe. So his feelings may simply escalate because he just lets them simmer for way too long beneath the surface without talking it out with someone.
Sting Eutcliffe: The Sabertooth Guild has become a better place since Sting became guild master but that hasn’t always been the case. The tradition under its previous master was that the winner gets it all and the loser deserves nothing and even if Sting is fundamentally not a bad person that mindset has partially rubbed off on him. Sting is a boisterous and prideful young man who knows that he’s handsome and strong and his Exceed Lector is unfortunately his biggest cheerleader who would encourage an obsession.
Erik: The whole plot with Cubellios is the main reason why I think he would be deserving of being ranked as high as he does. If Erik embraces someone in his heart he is dedicated to that person which we saw already when he lost Cubellios so it is very easily imaginable that he’d develop obsessive tendencies over his darling.
Rogue Cheney: There’s literally the canon confirmation that Rogue has a dark personality and an entire arc centered around his future version who succumbed to the dark side because of the death of Frosch. Rogue is normally quiet and calm yet he would definitely fall victim to dark urges if he should fall in love with someone deeply and they would end up being in grave danger as this would be the trigger to awake his shadow.

I’ve honestly just learned to ignore and block all of Jay’s haters atp because all they’re doing is just trying to get a reaction out of people, mostly DC editorial. They literally message, tag, make essays and do all kinds of shit nonstop just so they can “persuade” the writers at DC to give them what they want, it’s like watching toddlers pulling a tantrum tbh.
If DC editorial cared even a little bit about what these people want or think they would’ve done something about it by now imho. But they probably see how disgusting, evil, and malicious the hate is that they refuse to give them what they want especially for a character who isn’t even a bad person. No one’s hurting them or stopping them from liking the things they like either so their hate really is unfounded.
It’s pretty sad especially for LGBT+ Asians to see so many people have such a vicious and scathing reaction to him simply existing but when people are that mindlessly hateful there’s really not much else you can do but ignore them, and I firmly believe is what DC editorial has chosen to do. I’m just glad Jay is still even present and being mentioned by name in the stories and I really hope they keep him.
Also people don’t realize Jon’s content is very scarce since he’s usually overshadowed by Clark just like how Bruce’s content overshadows his kids, so I hope DC will try to pump out a little more content for him.
I;m usually pretty good about blocking people, like my block list is super duper long and like in my head, I know half of this is just to get a rise out of Jay fans, but sometimes monkey-brain react. But yeah I totally get you.
DC is terrible at handling POC characters and if they didn't want Jay around, he'd be gone. But he's only becoming more prominent as the years pass and he's even part of an event now (a thing I thought won't happen for another 10 years). Like you have no idea, how much I was shaking, when I saw Jon asking for Jay right after coughing up blood and being brainwashed, and also saying "The Truth" is what's important to BQ. It feels especially significant to Jay because we got spoilers from the Nicole & Sina stream that Jay is very present in Absolute Power: Super Son, when Jon was fighting against the mind control. At least with Jon, it's a bit of a reference to Jay too, thematically.
On an objective level, I know Jay is here to stay. A lot of characters who were introduced around the same time as him, or even later than him have just kinda disappeared. But I am glad DC themselves have clearly chosen to ignore the haters regardless of the spam and the hate.
I think these days, there's people turning against the de-age Jon stans(especially on twitter and a lot on tiktok) primarily because they are.......the way they are......General comic fans who aren't particularly into Superfam are recognizing it. I think this is the best the atmosphere has ever been in terms of support and love for Jay and Jon.
And you're so right on Jon's content being scarcer. Other than Batman and Superman, no other character gets consistent books or a guaranteed, continuous run. The others who do have been around for decades, like Poison Ivy, Harley, Nightwing, etc. Even Wonder Woman doesn't have her Sensation Comics. In terms of a bigger picture, for how recent Jon is, he's doing pretty fantastic. He's always in events, he's got two independent runs, he's getting a new solo issue with AP: Super Son. I think we've been getting at least one solo Jon project a year since SOKE.
Relatively speaking, he's fine. And I think people also tend to assume he's being too overshadowed by Clark because the de-agers just dismiss any run where Jon shows up these days, unless it fits their perception of what he is now.
Like I had this argument with someone twitter, where they said you can't count Beast World, Lazarus Planet, Nightwing, Action Comics, and DC Pride appearances as Jon content because they aren't solo books. Which is frankly absurd. This also involves a lot of Jay mentions and appearances.
Jay, Nika and Nia are the only characters who were introduced around that 2021-2022 time that are still relevant, and they continue to grow. I think outside of Tom King, everyone else have also started to realize the Damian-Jon friendship just can't be taken back to the way it was so they're each getting stories very separate from one another. Even Jon's stories and themes are getting more divorced from Clark.
Thanks for the message!! Sorry about vent posting like that. I hope we get to see and enjoy more of Jay in the future! I think we might be getting a new run with Jon, or more of just Jon, Jay and Nia based on Nicole's projects and hwo she talks about their future (she called Jay 'Gossamer' so I'm hoping we get to see him function more a superhero in the future!)

At what point do you think Jupiter switched from protecting Morrigan because she was a Wundersmith that he had to keep away from Squall, to the parental sort of care, pride, and joy he has for her now?
Oh, I love this question!
Okay, so, I’m of the belief that Jupiter felt protective and, more importantly, sympathetic towards Mog from the very beginning. I mean, he did his best to get her out of her shell, to support this kid who obviously hadn’t had the best life thus far, to make her comfortable, or at least safe.
And then the “you’re not a curse on anyone” scene comes to mind, making us all start sobbing, because no matter if he saw her as a part of his people, his own chosen little family yet, he wanted to make sure this little girl realized that she wasn’t inherently evil, or bad luck, or whatever other hateful rhetoric she’d been fed throughout her life.
I’d also like to add that he felt protective of her at first, sure, but he started liking her around the time she started showing her personality. She’s so funny, you guys, and Jove rubbed off on her fairly quickly, just look at the “Consider your next words carefully,” line that Mog literally copies off him, or the entire interaction with Flintlock during chapter 10, Jupiter was having the time of his life when Mog started sassing.
Anyway, to answer your question, I believe the entirety of the first book not only tells us Morrigan’s story, but it shows us how a familial bond was formed between her and Jupiter. From protection to camaraderie to actual love and fondness, mutual between the two of them. I think that there’s no one moment where you can pinpoint, “There! That’s when Jove started loving her!” But more of a combination of little things throughout the story that exemplify him starting to care for her as his kid. I believe that kind of love isn’t something you fall into suddenly, but something you stumble upon through interactions and shared experiences. Something you wake up one day and discover it’s been there for a while.
And I think that’s what happened to Jove, he just looked at Mog one day and thought “oh. She’s my kid. I love her, and I’ll do whatever it takes to keep her safe.”
But that’s just me rambling.

Isn’t it kinda weird that people ship daemyra? I'm not targeting daemyra, but the shippers. Though their relationship was acceptable in their era, I see many fans using this as a pretext to actively endorse it, which is problematic. It's one thing to acknowledge the historical and cultural context of a relationship, but it's another thing entirely to romanticize or ship it when we now have the knowledge and understanding that one of the individuals involved is a child.
Need your opinion on this
DISCLAIMER: I am a Daemyra shipper. Read with caution.
You're essentially asking why it isn't a dealbreaker? You could refer to my post HERE, but here it is in short:
Perhaps I'm going to be flowery, exhaustive, and "purple prosey" again, but I think it is basically that that very context creating the exploration of a tragedy of forces stronger than oneself. People love tragic tales, esp doomed ones. It's almost always validating in that there is a persistence of self against outside pressures that may or may not (but usually does) have said pressures be compulsions to conform against one's own happiness or authenticity, even and sometimes especially when the couple dies at the end. That in of itself is a sort of "resistance" that's supposed to coincide with GRRM's whole thing of "choosing life in spite of death" or "we found love in a hopeless place" sort of thing in ASoIaF, but for royals and in a royal iteration.
Rhaenyra's story is a doomed one not because she was the entire cause of the Dance pr some evil temptress but bc the historical actions of her ancestors and the feudal-patriarchal system they all live under has already set up designs against women and those the women could use to occupy the positions granted to men. GRRM loves his tragic tales of love; look at Rhaelya! But they also tend to--long way forward--lead to strains of hope in later generations...which works to make the whole thing even more bitter sweet and melancholy. They also both buy into it of course, which certainly contributed, but from the jump we know these two will not succeed. So from there it's a thing of enjoying the couple as they are and what they serve in the narrative. Oh, and of course the true star is Dany, and Rhaenyra had to die for Dany's story to be what it was (death of the dragons, women subjugated, Targs losing their sense of self leading to the Rebellion).
When there is no or mostly and actively morally upright party like a Daenerys, humans will root for the most impressive, thrilling, or aesthetically beautiful story/characters/relationships that scratches that itch some. You can certainly whack GRRM for creating so many ships that are this too-taboo thing(s), but people are very prone to misleading some things about people-as-people that I think (even with the historical inaccuracies GRRM defends as "accurate" about ages when noble people married) the writer does convincingly capture between this "conversation" in his work about the relationship between environment and choice. At least for enough people that there is something to how he's doing it.
And then, yes, sometimes people will over-romanticize, and much more than I think you're imagining it, anon. I've read some fics...let's say that sometimes people feel the need to dramatically change the characters that always puts me off bec it erases what was fun about them in the first place.
Here it is written in another way:
A)
The draw of Daemyra for a lot of people is that CONSIDERING THE CIRCUMSTANCES AND EVEN DESPITE/BECAUSE OF THEM, they had one of the most the strongest bonds for the longest time (and yes, even with Daemon loving Laena) in the orig story and they matched each others' drive/fire/pride (the last in all its meanings). They seem (operative word here) to understand each other the most, were the most comfortable with each other, and were the others' biggest support.
Again, it's not exactly the incest but what the incest/age gap (IN THE CONTEXT GRRM CREATED) does for the bond that comes to be.
Daemon for all intents and purposes could have become a perfect culmination of patriarchal privilege and male pride: one of the best warriors of his time, access to one of the most formidable and impressive creatures through his state of birth, action-oriented but not opposed to using strategy tactics, nearly irresistible to women an attitude and inspiring enough to men both in the story and in the fandom with his charisma, blah blah. And he certainly still had all those things or was written that way.
The kickers are that he's forced to acknowledge his truer desires to support his family towards prosperity and survival--where his loyalty to Rhaenyra comes in--and those desires are so much a priority he basically shuns much else, or at least removes himself from that, and thus he cannot/does not bother to put on much airs or try to gain approval...which is a very common thing amongst nobility who often curry favor or imagine themselves to be "good" people because they follow an honor code. There's a "purity" to that, an shameless honesty that draws people in similar to how some people feel about Oberyn and Jaime. And it especially is very attractive to people who have quite a bit of shame themselves over love and sex (for whatever reason, religious shame, queer shame, female shame for sexuality and desiring a stronger partner even anyway) and are (at first or never) inclined to not to try to ennoble it but are lonely and looking for a story of a strong connection/ride or die. That loyalty to Rhaenyra is a "flaw" that some men in the fandom never forgave GRRM for.
Rhaenyra similarly could have been a typical or ideal princess--either way, people wouldn't have liked her or found something to say was a damning "flaw" to say she deserved her fate-- and in some ways, she was. Loved wearing luxurious things and showing off her beauty, beautiful, fertile. But she's inplacably different from the ideal of Andal patriaechy be
Rhaenyra "replaced" Daemon as heir, yet instead of really planning her downfall and committing to his ire against Viserys (yes after being forced away), he appears accept his subordinate position towards the middle and end of his life, even before they marry and fully commitsd to her without losing his own...je-ne-sais-quoi. Despite her loneliness and the surrounding doubt around her for being a female heir, Rhaenyra never seemed to seriously lose her belief in her right to occupy that sort of space and never demurred like some other female characters we (pre-the rise of YA fiction and the Capable+Alluring MC Girl/Woman) were familiar with WHILE not being that kind or good a person (the trope of a Steel-Under-Silk strong, Lady usually has the Lady be good or kind of selfless, sometimes to the point of self effacement). Both had a sort of belief in themselves to a degree and under contexts that put off both readers and their own contemporaries--for different reasons...sometimes the same ones. that sort of symmetry is very appealing BECAUSE OF AND UNDER THE CONTEXT of a world and system (unequally, but the closest it's gotten and could get).
B)
The argument of "for the time/environment", I think, is for use of when we have people claim that some characters like Ceryse Hightower, Larra Rogare, Daemon, Viserys I are pedophiles...when we have Robert Baratheon, Craster, Walder Frey, etc. right there. that they go out of their way to mess up children or teens bec they are genuinely want them for their teenhood/childhood. The childness (full knowledge of childness) is exactly what they aim for.
Sure, none of these characters do not and cannot have the exact same moral systems or values as real moderns (sometimes Western people) do...because they simply do not have that framework to live on and through. So automatically saying a character is a pedo or a groomer can be hasty and inaccurate.
SOMETIMES (again, Walder, Craster, Robert).
It requires one to think about what a groomer or a pedo really is. Which I've squared down to the person wanting to prey on what is known to them and everyone around them as a "child" or "too young" that is socially excluded from every practice and dynamic of sex and romance that adults are expected to participate with each other, and not with said child (or simply manipulate them away from their security/non-security to do so) because the "child" cannot develop psychologically/physically when said adults interrupt their development and/or make them think is one thing when it is the other. Characters like Daemon, Viserys, etc. do not try to seek out what is recognized as "children" or "childlike" (and the "young maidens" or virgins the text states weirdly juxtaposes the lack of Daemon continuing said behavior into his adulthood, which true groomers/pedos always do). All this is strictly against the idea of him being a "groomer", even though like other men and a few women, he gets into something with 14/15 yr old Rhaenyra...
HOWEVER, it is true that patriarchies tend to apply sex-purity values in ways that inevitably encourage attentions on teens (as these are the closest) AND this ALSO doesn't mean that GRRM wasn't/isn't trying to say that this is still a wrong thing for 111 A.C. Daemon to have done and that it wasn't potentially screwy. (I think this is kinda what also "saves" it for some people, that the narrative acknowledges this particular crazy as crazy).
And just as with Dany and Drogo and the age revealed at her first pregnancy, even with Dany having been a bridal slave to Rhaenyra's princess and thus presenting a more visceral stake the latter doesn't have, determining how one sees Dany's regard for Drogo as blatant victim-mindset. For Daemyra, though, it's still not exactly the same and it's just that there isn't much for a claim, story-wise not life wise, of blatant you-know-what-it's.
There are about 4 main theories as to why Daemon of the bk does what he does with Rhaenyra:
he wanted to get back at Viserys for all the years of his ignorance and the recent event of his shipping Mysaria off only her her to lose what would have been Daemon's first kid (so a denial of person, position, and his own heir/family when he seemed to start trying to make himself after a long series of war in the Stepstones, also trying to make some "glory" for himself that Viserys--for him--keeps preventing or ruining)
he thought that the issues of succession Rhaenyra or even Viserys might have with the burgeoning greens, esp Otto, would be better handled if he forced Viserys to have him and Rhaenyra marry and combine lineages...tag him in, coach, he's been ready and you're not doing the job right, so let me in (ironically, I think this is very Visenya-coded...no one is going to be as competent and dedicated as me...just [ugh] with all the male trappings and privilege that shaped his...all that) -- a burgeoning storm they all had to prepare for, and he has to be there for them to survive -- he sees Rhaenyra at court surrounded by greens and is so offended he's even more determined--some might read "desperate"--to handle things even with such little...grace, shall we say
he was "tailoring" and "preparing" Rhaenyra to become more like the wife/partner that would make him most happy and rationalized that he would pay her back with his "hand" and sword, bc they were the best bet for their house...yeah...
when he got there and saw Rhaenyra in her "marriageable" state, he became attracted to her and similar to Laena and the duel, decided to "risk" the damage to his own rep...without letting himself onvder over the possible damage to Rhaenyra
or, ALL OF THE ABOVE...SOME OF THE ABOVE
Whatever Daemon did with her/to her (sex, kissing, near-sex, groping, etc., we don't know what happened but I think it was either sex or something that looked like it would definitely lead to that), it wasn't based on a habit and intention of straight up p*dophilia. More so him being very selfish, continuing the pattern of Targ men Targ-menning against their female counterparts. Using Rhaenyra against Viserys, putting his foot down, whatever.
Therefore he was still abusing his experience and relation with her, the "child-not-child-who-should-have-been-seen-as-a-child-but-wasn't-bc-society-and-patriarchal-selfishness/advantage". So I don't fault or perfectly disagree with people who say "groomer!" After all, their priority is not allowing other crazy people or out already-male-scorched world in further footholding for nonsense in the real world. Can't call them stupid or morally incorrect for that or being concerned. However, I still think there's a misunderstanding of what's being conveyed by the text versus what such a thing would be in real life (Watsonian vs Doylist) AND we can't stop ourselves form writing or showing even the odd and taboo or genuinely concerning stuff when there's something to be shown/told.
It changed to what it needed to be, became what was its potential, AND Rhaenyra was set to marry someone else (before the confirmation that it was always gonna be Laenor, and she didn't know it was him until last minute) who she would likely never be able to trust because of her position, men, yada yada. Might as well be someone she cared for her entire life and we know would not go out of his way, even shift for someone he thought was "worthy", and whoo-boy, was Rhaenyra "worthy" to Daemon. Again, refer to the doomed narrative.
Now Daemon here is so not exactly a good guy if he:
was willing to use his own about-to-married-off-and-subiect-to-purity-politics-standard-that-could-affect-her-reputation both as a girl/woman-as-a-female-heir niece in this way, even if it was after Viserys basically caused him and Mysaria to lose their first kid and came after years of Viserys basically ignoring Daemon--Daemon's eyes, bk and show--in favor of a man who could never hope to be as loyal as Daemon....IN FACT, THIS PROVES HE WAS NEVER THE "GOOD" GUY (I'm yelling at some fics)
prioritizes "sameness" and it comes off as arrogance--"only people like me can handle all this"...however, he'd be not totally incorrect (just annoying to some, charming to others, a little bit of both and feeding-into-each-other for others-others). He's not only a person who grew up, like both female and male nobles, value having the highest classed and prestigious person as a potential mate even if it may contradict "obedience" and he like others wishes to, he also. Again, the appeal of SYMMETRY. And sameness (albeit, in lesser degrees) does have an importance in how many people define what their ideal partner is. Not have the same hobbies or ways and color of dress, but values. Which Rhaenyra and Daemon have the potential of to the max.
If a potential partner's "worth" to be of a certain category or class...but it's fun to see shamelessness at a point AND such shamelessness works to, again, support said female character bc it's a great pair to loyalty, which Rhaenyra needs a lot of and assurance of from. And, no, I don't think she got enough of that from Harwin for all that she did love him (if they did become lovers...but I know you know they were, come on now). Those two had to hide; Rhaenyra's not a hider, not where it doesn't concern her kids' safety at least.
C)
Ironically those assurances come from the reversed--or at least done a little topsy turvy--familial relations, feudal constraints, AND the reality of Targaryens being both a part of this society but also not really on part because of their dragons/innate magicness but also because they are the ruling family.
They are apart from most people around them and find more things in common between themselves, us against the world (yes, in the bk, too); isolated always--unless you're like Rhaena, Dreamfyre's 1st rider, who could and did find female friends everywhere and discovered more freedom and comfort in them through their woman-ness than anyone in her family...but even then, she was more or less emotionally isolated just by being such a woman and a Targ, and the male stink still manages to encroach its way in through Androw Farman and the love she had for Androw's father/her lover's love for said Androw. and as royals, they are by social definition not in physical proximity, thus not as easier seen as any more than political figures/leaders. I mean, sure, we might say "boo hoo", and we'd not be totally wrong, but there is still an effect of treating people not like people that humans have never been able to rein in, and it's important to how the Targs handled many things and were perceived, thus how they responded--queue Jaehaerys I. When we especially talk about the costs to oneself and to how others treat you under the nonphysical protections of power. Whether for good or ill.
Contrast to Jaehaerys and Alysanne, who, thought GRRM notes as one of the greatest pairs, also end up separated by Alysanne's & Jaehaerys' fights over their children's safety and places in the succession, with the obvious running line of it going back to misogyny for the sake of assimilating/holding power instead of using it for making the said society a little better/a lot better.
Contrast to Daario and Daenerys (yes, yes, why would I compare PoV character's observations of a person vs a history book, we get it), Daemyra/RoguesDelight has Daemon knowing and giving more suggestion of longevity bc it's suggested in the text that he had access to the most intimate stirrings of Rhaenyra's head (final letter at Maidenpool as well as all I said above) in a way Daario never did or wanted to with Dany. Oh, of course Daario knew Dany loved her people, was lonely, was all that and the 3rd; but I trump that up to be his observation of what she needed and wanted so he could indulge in being with such a woman and profit from it. Even though he wasn't exactly terrible or whatever, or impatient. This is far from Dany's fault, tbc. Daario is gonna Daario. But, as one person kind brilliantly explained about Dany being a goddess in Twitter:
Part of her struggles is w being dehumanized as a symbol of power but she constantly subverts that by placing the weight of her responsibility/influence into liberating ppl.
Jaehaerys I sorta sets himself and his later scions, by contrast, even with it having had the desired effect of getting people off his back about sibling incest. So does Aegon I, tbh, when while it left the Targs the ability to adapt to their necessities concerning succession, his and his sons leaving it open to duking-it-out...then Aegon named heir over Rhaena...made way for the first stone against women in their house....those most necessarily it seems (after the Dance).
Anyway, they were pretty solid until Rhaenyra's kids started falling like dominoes and were caught in a deceit.
D)
I remember an ask I got once about Daemon showing Rhaenyra explicit imagery in S1E4, where anon said that him doing so proves he is a groomer in the show, where Rhaenyra is 19 instead of 14-15. And adult but just barely AND a lot of people hold that grooming--nonsexual, too--can happen to people to people as old as 34. Personally, I think that the latter is more general manipulation more than "grooming", but I digress and it doesn't really work for 18-20 year olds and up, who again, are practically teenagers.
But I brought up my misgivings about Daemon wanting to abuse children/children adjacent for its own sake already, and it's less evident in the show where the show makes it a point that he wanted Rhaenyra at most stages of her life (when again, she wouldn't be a child-child to them, scowl at GRRM, not me):
the beach scene in S1E7 with adult Rhaenyra, we all saw them heave for each other
we hear/see nothing of his messing with too-young girls after said marriage...the narrative implies he was likely imagining it as some "perfect" Valyrian bride...who happens to be around the same age as state as his niece (still problematic for all the implications of Rhaenyra's significance to him----both in the nature of sex work affecting women/girls AND we really didn't need to hear of that without proving how old those girls usually were to be so used like this as proxies…this is where I personally would have rolled my sorry self out) -> -> -> the probable immediate recall of Jorah doing similar with Dany OR simply Mysaria's observation of this unconscious/repressed desire/teasing him and show!Daemon never having actually done these things -> -> -> of course this could be due to any number of reasons, like his frustrations with Viserys manifesting in looking for a companion in the closest person possible more than that sort of desire
Mysaria: What troubles you, my Prince? I could bring in another. Perhaps a maiden. I have several. I could even arrange one with silver hair. [pause]
This included language of "could" and "perhaps" and "even" (as if this were a thing that she knows it's out of the ordinary) plus her solicitousness to meet his silence and disappeared enthusiasm indicates that show!Daemon was not in the habit of messing w/very young sex workers as bk!Daemon is rumored and told (A Question of Succession):
Tumblr media
"and was said to have an especial fondness for deflowering maidens"
Language is important these types of documents. We're given an entire description of his philandering and the contrast of "he sampled" (definite, final, statement-to-not-be-doubted), but there is room with "was said" for Daemon to not have gone around this particular act of seeking out virgin girls. Like how one would say now "I heard such and such also went pulling people's pants down after Marcus saw him go into a strip club" or "people say that Marsha went to Payless for her prom shoes".
Active ("he sampled") vs passive voice ("he[...]was said") can be pretty important to indicate what def happened vs what people believed and could have happened but was never proven. But what do I know, I'm just a probably too-biased Daemyra shipper (this genuinely was not to be snarky, really, you can take or leave my points).
END
For me, it's more when Rhaenyra & Daemon both get older that they shine and I "approve" or really most enjoy Rouges Delight (bk ship name some have taken to call Daemyra) whatever you want to name and distinguish the couple. (I prefer their younger interations [pre E6, S1] in the show not bc Emma is a bad actor--they re not, they're just underutilized and Rhaenyra is written so...terribly that I can never get as into it...I liked Daemyra when they reconciled in S2, for example, but I hated how they got there and not bc of "the ship is sinking" but bec it genuinely was not written well and depended on diminishing both characters). I'm not, however, out here trying to say that anyone else should love this ship, this couple, this story just as much as I don't really mind people not getting into GRRM's writing.
The 111 A.C. issue, there is a certain odd quality it of being obviously out of line and manipulative...while evidence of being a convergence of long-held tension, a beginning towards an inevitable outcome years down the line. SYMMETRY and good writing. I suspect that part of the appeal for some is that push-pull of the delight of "matching freaks and the moral conflict of "but....he's her uncle and he's 2x her age and/or they probably did things when she was way too young", but that's a whole other thing. It keeps people engaged and is perfectly symptomatic of that quality of medievalesque/historical fiction, sure, but bc humans love to play with taboos in fiction...to a certain point. (Personally, again, it is that later timeline that "saved" Daemon for me, as flawed as that may be.) They can indulge in the curiosity of the play of "what ifs" GRRM writes and the subsequent quandaries safely in fiction without getting openly judged & misunderstood for wanting such stories. Sometimes we "play" too close to the sun, though, I admit.
So unless someone's gone off the deep end trying to say that they wouldn't be bothered by a 15 yr old and her 2x older uncle smooching in real life, or try to deny that Daemon was performing, it really doesn't discomfit me that much in the grander scheme of things to me.
Again, I can't blame HotD for uping Rhaenyra's age AND people for just not jiving or hating the ship just as there are those who cannot ever get into ASoIaF for the incessant (to them, too often unpunished by the narrative) incest even outside of the Targs alone. And I get how this is just not going to be enough or that he later is her strongest supporters is enough for a lot of people. But I do want the air cleared a bit and explain the position from where I'm standing. Could change, but I dunno about that. Perhaps this all too biased a breakdown. I warned ya.
This is all in regards to shipping, of course. 😉 Anyway, watch out, there might be more freaks about you in your everyday life like Daemyra shippers, anon!

LO RANT/VAGUE SPOILER:
I’m going to be unapologetically posting these rants because I’m absolutely fucking fuming. This entire Demeter situation is absolutely dog shit and it’s getting on my nerves, I’m not understanding how everyone is getting on Demeter for being so manipulative and such when HADES IS THE EXACT SAME. I’m so sick of this I feel like every few rants I say the exact same thing even though dozens of people still do this bullshit.
I’m upset and I’m mad because Demeter was never manipulative and evil like this, if you guys don’t get that this is basic character assassination then it’s fine but it is. Demeter was always proud of Persephone, after the whole 10 year reunion she literally said how proud she was of Persephone because she managed to keep the land up and running for the last ten years while she was gone. She didn’t even take up the conversation or make it about her, she just showed earnest pride in her daughters work. UNLIKE HADES, we have whole fucking chapters dedicated to Hades making everything about himself yet everyone is fine with him doing that?? It makes no fucking sense. Hades disregards Persephone’s feelings time and time again, he makes every single conversation about himself, how he empathizes with others has to do with himself, his trauma is the only one validated, he’s the only one who can get away with being an absolute shitty parent and a terrible person and he’s the only one who can manipulate others without consequence. Do you guys not see how absolutely insane it is to hate Demeter and not Hades? Is it not strange to you how every single time this man speaks it’s always about himself or Persephone and even when speaking about Persephone it’s always pertaining to things she can do for him.
I can go on and on how the fans’ outrage towards this whole Demeter thing is crazy! They say that Demeter doesn’t respect Persephone well guess what, I have a funny story for you. Hades doesn’t either, he literally only wants her to be his wife and have his kids. He’s never once imagined her in a position of power nor has he ever been completely supportive with her way of doing things. There’s always a weird condescending nature with him when he’s interacting with Persephone and it’s crazy how no one else picks it up with those two. He literally only likes her cause of her physical looks and because she’s nice enough to tolerate. There’s never been a time where he truly showed actual respect to Persephone, he doesn’t do anything respectful towards her except for the bare minimum which is what it’s called. Bare.
Then people say that she’s wrong for saying she isn’t ready to run a kingdom. I want to let you in on a little secret.. Persephone hasn’t been doing shit ever since she made Tartarus defeat Kronos and even when she once again got someone else to get their hands dirty for her guess what? He’s back so she didn’t even do shit. Like come on, you couldn’t even finish the job with Kronos??? And that’s what we’re supposed to respect her for?? All powerful, all knowing, all beauty, all brains fertility goddess Persephone couldn’t defeat big bad Kronos that she was able to take down in five panels? You’re absolutely kidding me!! Persephone is so powerful it’s amazing that she didn’t take him down!!! Anyways, let’s get real. Persephone hasn’t even made any comments on what she wants to do as queen, she doesn’t know anything about the underworld still and she doesn’t even want to know by the looks of it. She doesn’t act like someone who’s accepted their job or responsibility she looks like she just got access to Hades’ wallet and is now going to live her life like nothing happened… Oh wait. That’s exactly what she’s doing.
Also, can we please stop ignoring the multiple critics talking about Hades’ obsession with courting Persephone and having a family with her all without her knowing?? Like I hate that this huge monumental issue in their relationship is being treated all cute and such. This is exactly what happened to Minthe people, and you all hated her because of how she responded to it yet you’re all fine with Hades considering doing the same to yet another woman that he love bombed into a relationship with. Speaking of Minthe, I think it’s pretty sick how no one allowed her to actually validate her emotions. Believe it or not Hades was planning on proposing to her in front of everyone who hated her, everyone who disrespected her, everyone who looked down on her, everyone who felt as if she were inferior and undeserving of the relationship as a whole. Imagine how that would feel for you, and why would you ever want to be with a man who cares so little about you, Hades is so tied up in his fantasy that once the perfect wife comes along his problems will all be solved. Why is everyone okay with him doing this to others?
Speaking of using women as literal wish fulfillments, this feminist story has to be a spit in the face to those it tells us it represents. Why is it that everyone is okay with Hades using these women to fit into his image and the way he wants the relationship to be without even trying to understand their desires or needs? Why are we so comfortable watching him force his wishes on these women? Is it because he’s not being violent that we look the other way, is it because he begs instead of demands things that makes this okay? Is it because of his constant useless awareness of him trying to stop himself from being a borderline creep that we’re fine with his unsettling behavior? If anything this comic should’ve taught everyone that violence against anyone doesn’t always have to be physical, what Hades is doing is damaging and he’s not just doing it to one person he’s doing it to multiple people without consequence.
I hate to say it but the way he has so many similarities with Apollo is very disturbing. I know a lot of LO fans will try and deny however many times they can but it’s the truth, he’s just like him really. They’re behaviors, the way they approach people, and genuinely how they react and speak to others are similar which is very very disturbing. It’s something that should’ve been discussed within the fandom instead of Demeter wanting her daughter far away from someone like that.
Anyways, I’m going to be defending Demeter and any other character who dislikes Hades for good reasons with my life because they’re the only ones who actually make sense.

Has your OC ever made (canon character) laugh? / What about cry? Which canon character doesn’t respect your OC whatsoever?Who does your OC love? (platonic)What is your OC’s ‘‘darkness moment’’ in the plot?
For Morgan and her semi-evil doppelganger
Has your OC ever made (Cisco Ramon) laugh? / What about cry?
Morgan and RF!Morgan have both made Cisco laugh, yeah! They’ve done so in similar ways—by teasing him in pre-s1 situations. Morgan continues doing this in s1 and beyond…meanwhile RF!Morgan isn’t really able to, because of Eowells tearing them apart 🥺
As for crying…RF!Morgan has definitely made Cisco cry more. Seeing the girl he once considered a little sister now emulating the Man in Yellow/Reverse Flash is gutting, Cisco cries every time he thinks about it. He wonders what happened to the sweet girl who used to play pranks on Caitlin with him and was always so thoughtful 🥺
Morgan’s made Cisco cry too, but usually for happy/prideful reasons. Though post-s1, Cisco and Morgan both cry for each other, about what Eowells has put them both through
Which canon character doesn’t respect your OC whatsoever?
Morgan: Hartley (at least for now 👀). Amunet later, and the feeling will very much be mutual
RF!Morgan: probably Barry tbh. He never gets a chance to really befriend her, by Eowells’s design, so he’s more inclined to see the worst in her
Who does your OC love? (platonic)
Morgan: Tina, Barry, Iris, Cisco, Caitlin! Also Eowells 😭 tragically
(also putting James here tentatively even tho they’re still together romantically at this point in time 🫣)
RF!Morgan: Tina, Iris, Cisco, Caitlin. Also a little bit Eowells (less so after she learns he killed her (god)mother, but…it still lingers. She hates it)
yes, ik a number of these are familial relationships, and that's a different prompt on this list, but idc, platonic encompasses familial so it counts
What is your OC’s “darkness moment” in the plot?
Morgan: As of right now…I guess threatening Hartley after he hurts Barry/wanting to truly kill him? She doesn’t say it outright, but Hartley clocks it. And it’s quite shocking coming from someone with a no-kill code.
RF!Morgan: Killing Eowells is the immediate answer I thought of, but there is something darker: when she’s rescuing Caitlin from Zoom, Morgan intentionally breaks Caitlin’s suppression necklace to forcibly unleash Killer Frost. Hey, at the end of the day, she’s still a villain 🤷‍♀️ and she wants Zoom dealt with quickly, and she’s not stupid enough to take on Zoom without a backup plan. Who better than an ice-wielder to defeat a speedster?
(In this fic, I mentioned that Caitlin’s powers manifest post-s1 in this AU, so s2 is when she’s having a ton of paranoia over it and trying to conceal it. Morgan saw Caitlin's frosty side* peak out at her when she begged Caitlin for help post-s1 (in this fic), so she knows Caitlin has ice powers…so she unleashes Caitlin's ice powers by force, dismissing Caitlin's fear as childish. Which...okay, at least Caitlin doesn't have to deal with having an alter, but still RF!Morgan, you can't just do that smh
It's okay tho, I support her wrongs 💞)
*KF is just Caitlin btw, in every (...or almost every, at least) fic I'll write about her. I personally find that more compelling

Poppy | Greenflower Week 2024 Day 1
The new kid is awfully small, it seems. Somewhat of a runt, so to speak. Brad eyes him carefully, curiously. His instinct is to help him, to pull him out of the crowd of kids surrounding him and give him the rundown, but he couldn’t do that. No way! He’d become the talk of town, the butt of everyone’s jokes. ‘Look at Brad,’ they’d say. ‘he’s a sweetheart, like his grandma calls him.’ Brad shudders at the thought. He’ll just have to go about things differently, it seems.
Rest of the drabble under the cut!!
So maybe putting fire ants in his bed wasn’t the best way. Whatever. It doesn’t really matter, though, because it’s not like he knows it was Brad. Until the next morning, as they’re all clambering around the dorms, the kid stalks up to him, standing tall beneath Brad, about a head shorter. “Why did you put fire ants in my bed?!” he says, loudly, his little voice squeaky. The kid really is just … small. He’s got a blond bowl cut and wide brown eyes. Brad shrugs. “’S what you do here,” he mumbles, suddenly feeling sort of … mean? “That’s mean!” the kid shouts. “I hate you!” Brad huffs. “Yeah? Well, um, I hate you too!” The kid shoots him a nasty, nasty glare, and runs off, bowl cut bouncing as he stalks away.
Brad feels kinda bad. Of course, he could never say this to anyone. It’d ruin his reputation! Besides, Brad’s already one of the popular kids. Brad’s in with Gene. Until the rumors start. “The new guy,” someone whispers. “His dad is Garmadon,” “Garmadon?! No way!” Brad eyes the kid—Lloyd, it seems his name is, not that Brad cares—and nearly scoffs. That guy? Garmadon’s son? Not a chance! Lloyd’s head perks up as whispers fill the classroom. He must catch Garmadon’s name, because he laughs. “Yeah,” he says, a sudden confidence consuming him. “My dad’s Garmadon.” He puffs out his chest with pride. Everyone gasps, the class forgotten. The teacher throws up their hands and lets them talk amongst themselves as the whole class flocks to Lloyd, sitting near the back with that stupid cape of his. He props his feet up on the desk and leans back (his feet barely reach the desk) with a laugh, indulging in the chatter around him. Gene and Brad exchange looks.
Gene doesn’t particularly want Lloyd in their little clique. He wrinkles his nose when Brad mutters it to him, but reluctantly agrees. They approach Lloyd the next day. He’s chattering away with some girl (girl? At Darkley’s? That’s weird) with bright pink hair. They’re both smiling (smiles? At Darkley’s? Also weird). Brad lets Gene do the talking, which proves to be a mistake. He goes on a tirade. Here, Brad will paraphrase what he heard. “Blah blah blah, great evil, blah blah blah, great plans, blah blah blah, world domination, blah blah blah join us or die.” Brad isn’t listening. When he’s finally done, Lloyd exchanges a look with the girl and says “No, thanks though.” Gene’s jaw drops. Brad walks off.
Lloyd is gone shortly after, kicked out for being too good. Brad can’t say he didn’t see it coming—the kid was like a puppy, with bright eyes and— Brad just hopes … where ever he ends up … no one else puts fire ants in his bed.

Brad feels like he may be intruding. Sure, they put out an open invitation to celebrate the Monastery’s rebuilding, but Brad is … he’s Brad, you know. He’s … He’s just a Darkley’s kid who put fire ants in Lloyd’s bed. It doesn’t really matter that he’s been watching Lloyd on TV for years, supporting him from the shadows. It doesn’t really matter if they did become friends, after Lloyd and his friends “returned” (were kidnapped by Gene and Brad and—you know how it goes). It’s … you know. Weird. But Brad goes. He’s older now, much older. He attends a nearby university, works at a flower shop part time to pay the bills. Gene’s his roommate, unfortunately. Oh, boy, if Gene knew where he was going, Brad would never hear the end of it. So Brad peeks through the doors, spots Lloyd helping the ex-jade princess hammer a few pieces of wood together. Brad swallows, and beelines straight toward him. “Hi,” he says. Lloyd looks up and drops the hammer.

Lloyd has a lot of shit, Brad learns very fast. No, not emotionally, they aren’t talking about that, even if, well, he has a lot of emotional shit too. Brad means in the very literal sense of Lloyd has about thirty boxes of stuff (how? Brad has no idea! His room in the Monastery was tiny) and Brad has ten. They’re moving in together—I know, right?! Had you told little baby Brad that, he would’ve had a conniption! Hell, Brad’s no longer living with Gene! (Sorta. Gene’s abroad for the year, so Brad needed a roommate and, well, apparently Lloyd is tired of living with his family and wants a bit more independence for once. With Ninjago city being relatively un-threatened lately, Brad extended the invite). Anyway. Brad makes Lloyd do most of the heavy lifting. Is he in-shape? And perfectly fine to lift boxes himself? Sure, but does he want to? No, lol. Besides, Lloyd can carry them much easier and quicker, and more at once, so really, Brad just sits back and starts unpacking. “You’re such a princess,” Lloyd grumbles, setting down the last box in the living room and brushing his hands off on his jeans. “‘Oh, Lloyd, be a dear and grab me that heavy lamp, will you?’” Lloyd pitches his voice up as he mimics Brad. Brad throws a pillow at him with a laugh. “Shut up! I do not sound like that.” “’Oh, Lloyd, I don’t want callouses on my hands, please carry all forty boxes and bring them inside from the moving truck. Could you grab the couch, too?’” This time he mimics his voice down. “I already have callouses, and—” Upon Lloyd’s cackle, Brad nearly tackles him. “Shut up!” Lloyd laughs, giving him a peck and a shove back to unpacking as he drops onto the couch. It’s late summer. They’ve got all the windows open and all the fans going. Lloyd is drenched in sweat, curls sticking to his forehead, his long hair up in a ponytail. Brad’s still got short hair—he is growing it out, though. “For the record, you carried the couch by yourself just fine,” Brad grumbles. Lloyd laughs again. Stands up off the aforementioned couch and drops beside Brad, peering over his shoulder as he unpacks one of his own boxes. “No way,” Lloyd mutters, reaching into the box and grabbing an old photograph. Brad flushes. “Ninja day?” He looks at Brad and laughs. “You still have this?” “Obviously,” Brad goes to snatch back the photo but Lloyd holds it away, standing. “Nuh uh,” he says. “This is going on the fridge, babe.” “Wait—Lloyd!” Brad scrambles after him, watching as he sticks it to the fridge with a colorful magnet. “What?” Lloyd tilts his head. “That was when you finally admitted you were good. We gotta pin it to the fridge.” Brad sighs. “Fine,” he says. “Fine.” He smiles. “But for that, I’m putting fire ants in your bed.” Lloyd laughs. “Sure you are.” Brad turns and walks off, wiggling his uncrossed fingers just to make a point. “Hey—It’s your bed, too, idiot!”
