Activists from 44 countries plan to launch the largest civilian flotilla in history at the end of August in an effort to break Israel’s siege on Gaza and deliver humanitarian aid to the starving population of the enclave.
The Global Sumud Flotilla, along with three allied initiatives, will send dozens of boats from Spanish ports on 31 August and Tunisian ports on 4 September, aiming to establish a humanitarian corridor and confront what organizers call Israel’s genocide against Palestinians.
“This summer, dozens of boats, both large and small, will set sail from ports across the world, converging on Gaza in the largest civilian flotilla of its kind in history,” said organizer Haifa Mansouri at a press conference in Tunis hosted by the Joint Action Coordination for Palestine.
The mission brings together four groups: the Maghreb Sumud Flotilla, the Global Movement to Gaza, the Freedom Flotilla Coalition, and Sumud Nusantara.

Ngl Luis might actually accidentally fix him by making him more active
Anyways, it's time for Jon's toxic hook-up with Luis.

it'd be so good because Luis is Jay but actually has bad politics and is a villain. But they're similar enough and Jon hates himself enough to try it by freeing him and going "I can fix him".
Anyways, it's time for Jon's toxic hook-up with Luis.

every weird and out of character thing Jon Kent does in Dan Slott's new Superman unlimited run, I will simply be interpreting as a really weird mental breakdown after losing Jay. Thank you

"Jon should date Ash" WRONG. HE SHOULD DATE LUIS ROJAS HIS FIRST NEMESIS. It WILL be toxic and ill-advised, it might not fix him, but we'll deal with that later

Jay: [giving a long, well-researched presentation on the direct involvement of the US government in suppressing countries by creating civil wars, assassinating communist and socialist leaders, destroying organized action, inciting violence and acting as a force of colonization and aiding in multiple genocides to maintain their authoritarian status]
What Jon hears: "Blah blah blah, proper name, place name, backstory stuff"

it is very funny to see people online who go "the US is fascist! burn it down! " not being able to handle Jay Nakamura, a fictional man, declaring rebellion in the US and actually doing something with that sentiment.
Your resolve is crumbling over a fictional character taking action jfc.

I think to say Jay was viewing Jon as a weapon is really dismissive of Jay's feelings for Jon, comparing him to Waller of all people feels even more horrifying. Jay pointed out that the US sanctioned for Jon to be brainwashed and used as a weapon, Jon siding with the US will eventually lead to Jon once again being used as a tool in some manner or the other.
Waller kidnapped Jon off the streets and hacked his body and brains till he was practically just meat and metal.
Jay is asking his boyfriend "hey can you do the thing you do did before?". I just- one of these is human experimentation and robbing someone of their entire bodily autonomy. Another is asking to join a rebellion. Jesus fucking christ.
Jon is right to be afraid of losing literally everything all over again, because it is a tough ask. Although I think Jon's not gonna be losing anyone considering:
Lois was trying to do what Jay is currently doing in terms of reporting in Waller v Wildstorm
Clark is very much antifascist and has no strong allegiances to the US in particular
The Irons fam have ALWAYS been anti-military especially with John-Henry's history with Amertek. He's been on a mission against weapons manufacturing and military violence ever since his 80s solo run
Jay asked for Jon to have the end goal of taking down the US government but from everything we've seen, the way Jay approaches this is almost entirely through journalism and questioning politicians (almost, I won't disagree he gets violent but no systematic change is possible without a degree of violence). Jay got the USB, he wasn't storming the White House or burning anything down even though Jay has made it very obvious now that he cannot be found if he does not want to be.
He is already friends with The Revolutionaries. The worst thing Jay has done on-page is kill the US soldiers- who were complicit in genocide. These weren't innocent civilians, or uninvolved third-parties, Jay killed the people responsible for covering up genocide and colonization.
Jay isn't a mindless killer, though he was deeply driven by emotion with killing the soldiers. He has rock solid principles and he has never wavered there. Jon and Jay have had a similar discussion before in SOKE and Jay made it very clear he'd rather lose Jon than apologize for how The Revolutionaries operate(they free people from oppressive regimes and situations through necessary violence).
Jay has also previously in SOKE asserted to Jon that Superman CAN'T topple governments. He is fully aware of what Jon can and should do.
Jay's always asking Jon for assistance, rarely making him the sole weapon or defense for Gamorra. He isn't even asking Jon to kill, he has never asked Jon for more than he's comfortable with doing. Jay won't need muscle alone. He is also aware of that fact;
Hence, he organized and built The Truth. A group effort mainly led by investigation. Hence why he works with The Revolutionaries.
This is not Jay's first rodeo, this is just an old fight continued, this time with the true source of the issues- the US. I'd really recommend reading Waller vs. Wildstorm because it explains how Gamorrans have been colonized by the US for decades & Jay is deeply aware of this. He knows he isn't gonna get anything by going in guns-blazing, otherwise he would've fought Nia to stall her, no to sneakily get the USB with all the information he needs and then go off somewhere to read files.
JON believes that killing = loss of control = monster.
The concept of "killing" means something vastly different to Superman. Clark does not hold Otho & Osul having to kill others to survive over their heads because it was a necessity. It was how Warworld functioned- kill, or die.
If Jay hadn't killed the soldiers, they would've killed him. He's weak to magic, Jeanette would've eventually gotten him. He couldn't trust Nia or literally anyone to get the information about Project Gamorra out. On top of that, they are again, soldiers. The playing field was kill-or-be-killed because lest we forget, Waller wanted Jay gone in Dream Team.
Jon can incapacitate, he's practically indestructible in most cases, he has the luxury of choosing that over killing people because a) no can kill Jon unless they're on Superman's level, b) no one wants Jon dead. Being Superman's son gives him privilege that Jay doesn't have, but he is also an asset of the US government(at least he is viewed as such). Jon thinking killing being a slide into fascism is entirely his issue. He's fundamentally wrong to even subconsciously compare Jay's situation to Clark(ANY of the clarks).
Ultraman and Injustice Clark where the Bendix and the authoritarian governments. They are the Bendix and US analogues.
When Jay asked for Jon to join him, it was because he was his boyfriend, someone who he saw was being exploited, because he's already seen his family and people fall because of the US. Sara was killed, all the Revolutionaries who were his friends were used in almost the exact same way Jon was, and Jon himself.
If Jay wanted a weapon, he wouldn't be pitching to Jon by talking about how siding with the US is going to just lead to him being a monster again. He does NOT want a weapon, he wants the man he loves to stick with him.
When they parted ways is the only time Jay called Jon 'Superman', and that was to show that a person who once gave him hope, doesn't anymore.

So many things came out Secret Six #6, but I found this panel to be the most interesting because there was once again a massive failure of communication between Jon and Jay.
At the moment, practically everybody is focusing on Jon's failings. And to be fair, they are the main focus. But take a look at what Jay is asking of Jon.
Yes, it amounts to "Let's take down the US Government together!" But realistically, what would Jon's role in that look like?
Jay has the information now to expose the government's many crimes, but for him to get what he wants, to "tear it down" and build something better he'd need muscle. A weapon. Jon.
Whether he realized it or not, in that moment Jay basically tried to weaponize his boyfriend for this new crusade. And I think that, more than the idea of trying to oppose his own country is what made Jon hesitate.
Yes, there is Jon's own hypocrisy to consider, but the opening pages of this issue made it clear Jon's biggest fear is a Superman with no limitations.
He's seen what that looks like and even experienced it himself. It wasn't his fault, but he was used to hurt people he cared about for someone else's war. The only difference between what Waller did to him then and what Jay is asking of him now was that Jay gave him a choice.
But to side with Jay also meant to side against his family, his friends, basically everyone he's ever known. And it would absolutely guarantee pain in all their futures. Emotional and physical.
Jon's refusal may have been motivated by fear and hypocrisy, but it was equally unfair of Jay to ask that of him while being upset that Jon wasn't taking his feelings into consideration.
They both hurt each other because they're two incredibly messed up teenagers who never should have been placed in this situation to begin with.

I love how Mizi is unknowingly cruel. In that, her cruelty comes through in the form of her love. She genuinely loves everything but it's defined by a sense of ownership and possessiveness that was destroying Sua.
And Sua, though confronted with it, seems to continue to think Mizi is someone to be protected from the worst of their circumstances. Mizi and Sua aren't in any way exceptional, none of the cast are, but love makes them see each other that way.
Mizi is so selfish in her love. What does she care for rebellion when it's at the cost of the one she loves? And when she does confront her potential cruelty, she blames herself for all the wrong things.
It's not her fault Sua died, it's not her fault she survived, it's not her fault that the boys were misogynistic and disgusting to her, it's not her fault people saw her as something to possess.
Haaaaaah MIZI
