Eldritch/not-entirely-human Grunkle Stan stories have been eating away at my brain, so I have a silly little concept of Mimic!Stan.
He and his Mystery Shack are both mimics that lure tourists in as a literal "tourist trap" to gather and devour them! Since the house is alive, it raises a few (read: several) child safety concerns that lead to a LOT of rules to be created for Dipper and Mabel to follow when they eventually arrive, such as:
Be careful not to get lost in the winding hallways! The Mystery Shack is bigger on the inside, and you don't want to end up in the wrong areas.
Don't go through randomly appearing doors, they may eat you.
If you think you feel the walls around you breathing and the floor beneath you shifting, no, you don't.
If you think the walls feel a bit damp, you're imagining it.
Watch your fingers around windowsills! You wouldn't want to lose any of them.
Don't linger too long under the doorframes; it may start feeling like they are slowly constricting around you.

One of Nene's main hobbies is playing video games, and the illustration of her bedroom reveals that she owns several consoles. Among these consoles are:

An Xbox (with a modified color palette)
An original release Japanese Sega Saturn (with a modified color palette)
Plus a gaming PC, and another console that doesn't seem to match with any real-life one. There also seem to be two Nintendo Switch Lites on the floor next to her TV, and a PlayStation Portable on her desk.
She also has two amiibo-like figures on her table, plus two more on her headboard, as seen in her untrained To Get Closer to the Canary 3* card (one of which appears to be an Animal Crossing-like character).

At the start of this project all I wanted was to 'learn how to draw' using comics as a medium and the MDZS audio drama as inspiration.
I've come *very* far from making simple, 3 panel black and white comics, and I truly do intend to go even further. Thank you to everyone who cheered me on throughout 2023, it has been an incredible year in so many ways I never could have imagined. I look forwards to drawing throughout 2024 B*)

For all the work this blog has been-#-It has truly been a life saving anchor when the darkest of times have hit.#Love is hard work. Change is even harder work. Sticking to a goal I set out for myself and striving to keep going was worth it.#And I love drawing. I think there has always been something in me that longed for this. And it is finally tangible! I think Adaine has had such a glow up since Freshman year like she got out of a bad home situation, she got actual parental support, she got her own clothes, she got anxiety meds (and I’m assuming therapy) and she’s got ride or die friends; she has Ayda a powerful wizard regard her as a best friend and equal, she’s an absolute badass who has saved the world 3 times and punched her dad so hard he died. And I think all of this has translated into her confidence improving (like her response to Kipperlilly saying “I know who you are” is “of course you do”). And I think it all results in her schoolmates finding her super attractive but her being completely uninterested in them, which only makes them more obsessed. Basically, if Adaine showed the slightest hint that she wanted to date, she’d have boys, girls and enbies lining up around the block but she doesn’t so like I guess it sucks to be everyone at school.
