merlin: a prat is what you are.

arthur, already walking away: that's treason!

*merlin stares as arthur walks off and runs into some of his knights down the hall. they chat for a moment and arthur says something that makes them laugh. he turns to look over his shoulder at merlin with a grin and a wave before turning back to the conversation*

merlin, fighting his own grin: he's the most infuriating man i've ever met.

obsessed w the way sansa and arya's storylines contrast in acok. sansa is trapped in the red keep, constantly watched and surveilled by guards every hour of the day, and it drives her crazy; simultaneously, arya is alone, unsupervised, uncared for by anyone who could meaningfully help her, and forced to fend for herself. while sansa is suffocated by a lack of freedom, arya suffers from an excess of it. they're two trains going in opposite directions on parallel tracks.

timid, white, borderline mentally ill young man meets an exuberant, energetic and dramatic young man while travelling to a new place. together, they create a MENS ONLY club which serves as a metaphor for queerness. they also have a homoerotic friendship btw. however, by the end of the film, energetic dramatic friend dies of a bullet to the head and the timid man must watch bittersweetly as the club he once happily created with this friend falls apart. now real question is this the premise of fight club or dead poets society

The problem with a lot of traffic life interpretations in my opinion is they don't understand character foils or don't employ them in their writing. Grian-Martyn and Scar-Ren are genuinely pretty good character foils for a series that is not really scripted or planned out like a book is. I could go on and on about how they parallel each other and the similarities between them. Even the smaller details between the four usually match up
