Am I the only one who thinks that part of the reason that Andrew is so opposed to getting close to Aaron is because of how Drake used threats on incest against him. His first introduction to Aaron was tainted by drakes sick fucking fantasy’s and i genuinely think that if that hadn’t happened they would’ve bonded a whole lot sooner.
Just a thought.

andrew
something that i think we as a fandom don't really, properly comprehend, is just how young Andrew was when the assault started. like. we all know, of course we know, but most of us are a lot older than seven (i hope) and so i feel like we half-forget exactly how tiny seven years old is, because our Andrew is grown-up and he can take care of himself for the most part (except when he needs Neil).
My little sister is eight, and her cheeks are still chubby, and she still wears her pink costume tutus from Halloween, and she complains about being the only girl in her class who likes to play soccer. She only comes up to my bicep, and she rotates her stuffed animals because she's worried they'll be lonely if they sleep on the outskirts of her bed too long.
Andrew was younger than she was. He was younger. And we don't really understand that because of how old we are now, but he was really just a kid. He was just a kid.
I don't really know where I'm going with this. I think my Andrew feelings are just hitting me all at once, because "you're not a sociopath, are you?" "I never said I was", and because Andrew still feels things, even if they're dulled down and barely there, and because it would have been so much worse when it all started.
I don't know. He already gets so much love from this fandom but I can't help thinking he deserves more.

Chapter 1 of my newest AFTG fic, A Crime of Passion, is out now! Updates daily.
Summary:
Special Agent Andrew Minyard, a rookie FBI agent, has been assigned as an undercover agent on the extremely high-profile Wesninski/Moriyama case. Posing as a freshman at Palmetto State University, Andrew's job is to get close to Nathan Wesninski's only son, Nathaniel, as a way of learning more about the crime family and finding ways to expose them and bring the Yakuza to justice. But when Andrew arrives to campus and meets his mark for the first time, he's surprised by Neil's kind and sweet personality, forcing Andrew to consider that the son of the infamous Butcher is not who he expected. The more Andrew works to uncover the innerworkings of the Wesninski & Moriyama crime families, the more Andrew falls for Neil, and puts himself, and others, at risk of exposure.

i am sitting in bed in the dark on my phone and i wrote an angsty twinyards one shot on my phone. don't know what is wrong with me but it's something. here.
*TW: panic attack, vomiting, drugs, vague reference to abuse, general AFTG-typical bullshit*
"stop," andrew repeats. "stop it." he rubs aaron's back as he heaves again. andrew itches all over with the memories picking at the edges of his mind. he pushes them away, focusing on his brother. "you're fine. just breathe."
as aaron goes blessedly, dangerously quiet for a moment, trying to calm his gasping breaths, andrew can hear the others lingering near the doorway.
"fuck, fuck, fuck," says a soft, gravely voice. it is katelyn. andrew doesn't turn around.
"hey, i talked to abby, and--" matt isn't talking to him, but andrew cuts him off.
"i don't care," he says. he holds up the plastic solo cup beside him. "get him more water. some crackers or something, too. he's almost done."
matt, thankfully, does as he's told and gets out. andrew finally turns to look at the others. katelyn leans in the doorway, viciously chewing on her nails. neil stands beside her, watching her, standing guard to make sure she doesn't interfere with andrew's operation. neil's his second in this fight, he thinks.
aaron coughs and sits up from the toilet. he sways a little, eyes unfocused.
"i'm sorry," he croaks. andrew cuffs him lightly. "ow," he says without much conviction.
"shut up. are you done freaking out?"
"you just told me to shut up. how am i supposed to answer--"
the return of the snark means he is, in fact, done freaking out, returned to baseline. andrew punches him in the arm lightly as katelyn snorts in the background. andrew ignores her.
aaron takes a deep, shuddering breath. he deflates as the tension that'd been holding him together evaporates. he wipes his face on his sleeve and tries to stand up. andrew pulls him back down. he stays.
matt comes back with water and crackers. "hey matt," katelyn says roughly, "do you guys have any gatorade?" matt turns back around to get some. andrew swallows down a wave of irritation.
aaron drinks the water, eats the crackers, and drinks the gatorade, and only then does andrew let him stand. he leads him to the couch, but aaron shakes his head. "nah, i'm...i think i'm gonna go lay down." andrew holds a steadying hand on aaron's shoulder for a couple steps, but aaron isn't stumbling as much as he was before. andrew lets go and lets him walk on his own.
"do you want me to..." katelyn asks softly.
aaron turns around to look at her, but doesn't quite meet her eyes. "no," he chokes. he clears his throat. "um...no, i'm good. just need...some time." he continues to look at the ground before her.
she smiles and nods easily. "alright, sounds good. i'll stick around for awhile, if that's alright?"
aaron nods.
"alright. i'll just chill on the couch for a bit, then."
andrew wants to slap the pitiful look off aaron's face, but he doesnt. he just watches aaron disappear into the bedroom without another word.
the others stand there for a beat, quiet and unsure how to process among themselves what just happened. matt is the first to break the silence.
"uh," he sighs, "i'm...gonna go. to the store. yeah, i'm gonna go to the store. get some more gatorade, and stuff. i'll be back in a while."
neil catches andrew's gaze and andrew reads the minute change in his expression as inquisitive. he looks at matt, then back at neil, and nods, gesturing with his chin to the door. go. neil nods, gives him one more firm look--it's okay, you're okay, i'm okay, he's okay, be careful, don't fuck anything up, i love you-- and follows matt out of the dorm.
when he looks back, katelyn is sat on the couch. she stares ahead, silent. she doesn't seem scared of him, like she used to, or even resentful of him, like she has more recently. she doesn't show any sign that she's even aware of him. she's lost in her head, eyes blazing. andrew watches her grind her teeth; otherwise, she is still.
he casually strolls over and sits on the opposite end of the couch. still, she gives no indication that she gives a fuck.
he stares at the same wall that she does and lets the silence stew for a few moments, dreading when he inevitably has to puncture it.
"so," he begins, keeping his voice carefully neutral and breezy, "are you going to tell me what triggered that little episode?"
she remains catatonic for a moment in which andrew feels anger coming off of her in waves. he wants to throw her out the window by her hair. but he can't, unfortunately--not when she was the one who'd been keeping aaron from choking on his own panic until andrew got there. not when she'd called andrew first, the minute she knew something was wrong.
no one else. him. she called him.
she sighs through her nose. "the episode--do you mean the panic attack? or the substance binge?" he feels her turn her head to look at the side of his. though it makes his skin prickle in discomfort, he turns to meet her.
she is like andrew has not seen her before--tightly-coiled, like she is ready to fight. he didn't know she fought. maybe she doesn't. maybe the instinct is separate from the skill.
andrew doesn't reply, nor does he show surprise, so she keeps going. "he apparently thought it was a good idea to mix liquor with 25 grams on an empty stomach."
andrew gives her a bored look. "oh no, how shocking and bad." he checks his nails, performing dismissiveness. "he--"
"shut up," she says. he whips his gaze back to hers. she looks quietly, coldly furious. "i know he's done worse. i know. but, god--he'd been doing so good. and, fuck--pills, coke, weed, whatever--it doesn't matter what he chooses to hurt himself with, does it?"
andrew sucks his teeth, but she doesn't let him get a word in.
"he hasn't been doing shit like that at all, lately, it's just--" she sighs, and it snags on the way out. she works her jaw for a moment, looking at the ceiling.
"he..." she tries at last. "he mentioned something about having a dream about his mom last night. and i knew he was having a bad day, all day, i could tell. he said he was gonna take half a dose just to settle his nerves, but..." she shakes her head. "i keep thinking, you know, 'i should've known better, i shouldn't have left, i should've stayed with him all day', but i know that's not." she clenches her fists; her knuckles go white. andrew is silent.
"he's not exactly stable, but he's an adult, and he doesn't need a babysitter. i'm not his..." she purses her lips as though she's tasted something sour.
"he greened out," she says simply, short and clipped. she picks at a loose thread in the sofa. "hard. plus the alcohol, plus the general anxiety all day. that's all. he made a stupid decision."
andrew is still for a while, then finally, finally nods. "and then he spiraled," he says, matter of fact.
she nods in return, looking dejectedly at the floor. "mhm."
she worries the thread looser. "he, um..." she clears her throat. "he was babbling, while he was panicking, before he started throwing up. he...god, he was so fucked up." she shakes her head, the coil tightening. "he was just rambling, and at some point, he...he said something about 'her'. he was just like, 'fuck, when is she getting home? what time is it? what time is it?' he was terrified, kept saying 'she' was coming home early."
andrew's chest tightens. he grinds his teeth once, twice, three times, to feel the sharp pain stab through his jaw.
"cant fool a junkie into believing you're not high," he manages, but his throat is dry and the words come out cracked. he resists the urge to cough.
katelyn releases a shuddering breath. he looks up, but she's staring at the wall again, the intensity reeled back inside of her. it bubbles under the surface.
"i'm glad that you killed her," she says lightly. andrew's heart thumps hard, making his chest shake. he swallows.
"he told me," she adds. her tone is coldly nonchalant. "he told me what you did. or, what he thinks you did. i don't disbelieve it."
she finally looks at him. "either way, i'm glad she's dead." in her eyes is that intensity, simmering under the lid, about to boil over. "my only regret is that i wasn't there to do it myself."
she holds his gaze for a half-second longer before she turns back to face the wall. her legs are crossed at the knee, her manicured hands folded neatly, properly in her lap. she sits perfectly still.
andrew watches her. he watches, because when he doesn't know what to do, he steps back and observes while he figures it out. he's trying to figure katelyn out--something he hadnt bothered to do before, out of bitterness, the resentment of the rebuked. but now, he watches, watches, trying to put a name to the thing she is.
a year ago, she'd been a threat to his brother's health, a threat to his own place in his brothers life. a threat to whatever value he had to aaron.
now, all he sees is a threat, plain and simple.
for a while they sit in silence, andrew sometimes watching her, sometimes not. sometimes he thinks, sometimes he listens to the hum of electricity in the walls. sometimes he wonders if he can hear aaron breathing or snoring or weeping through the wall, but he can't.
matt and neil return soon enough, and they look at the scene the two of them make like it's a fallout. matt moves slowly and quietly, so as not to spook. neil shuffles to the perimeter of the sitting area, hovering within a safe distance. not trying to interject; just reminding them, /we are here, and this is weird, and i want to know what is going on/. andrew flicks him a glance, annoyed, but tired enough that he could fall into neil's arms. he looks away again.
after a few minutes of neil hovering and matt pretending to still be putting groceries away and the other two stewing in their own silence, the bedroom door creaks open. aaron takes half a step out, looking every bit the beaten and broken fifteen year old andrew loathed. aaron's hunched frame makes him sick.
"hey, kate," he croaks, sounding as pathetic as he looks. "um, if you wanna...come in. we could talk, or." he looks around at the others, shame resting in the bags under his eyes. "whatever."
katelyn watches him. evaluates him. he's the only person in the room to her, in this moment. andrew reads that plain on her face, as clear to see as her anger had been seconds ago. she gives aaron the shittiest, dullest half-smile. "how about you take another few minutes, and then i'll be right in. is that okay?"
aaron's shoulders sink down further, like his guilt is gravity. "yeah," he rasps. he closes the door.
the boys are frozen. katelyn is still. she sighs, runs her nails against her scalp, smooths her hair back. then she turns to andrew. she waits.
he sighs. "i tried to get rid of her," he says at last.
katelyn gives him that same shitty not-smile. "yeah," she says. "we keep trying, keep trying to get rid of her, don't we?"
andrew sniffs. she shrugs. she stands, but doesn't go anywhere for a moment; he looks up at her.
"we're doing our best, i think," she says. she leaves that between them; they hold it between them. they don't look each other in the eyes anymore, but they hold that thing between them. then, at the same time, they let go, and she walks to the bedroom door, slipping inside.
andrew slumps back against the cushions, the coiled tension that'd been holding him upright finally unfurling.

⚠️⚠️⚠️TRIGGER WARNING ⚠️⚠️⚠️
-Andrew's trauma
-Banana fish
-Nothing graphic or explicit, but mentioned and very emotionally heavy
Less friendly idea re: The Foxes watching anime
I could see Andrew watching banana fish. I think he would notice Neil's interest in the sports animes and decide to see if there are ones that he might be interested in.
I think he would know what he was getting into before he watched it, and frankly I think he would bring it up with Bee before he did. Bee would most likely caution him to watch only one episode at a time, make a plan for if he gets triggered, and make sure he's in an okay headspace to engage with that kind of media. I also assume this is likely several years after TKM and he's made a lot of progress in therapy.
When people dissociate very heavily and disconnect with extremely traumatic events it is quite literally not even safe for them to visit those memories. Even talking about it could send someone into fight or flight, which is useless when you are trying to PROCESS trauma after it's over. It can even be more traumatic. However, there's a decent amount of evidence to show that engaging with it through media can be almost a stepping stone. A safe way to engage with those topics and emotions but from a distance that makes it bearable to do so.
All this is to say I think Andrew would really relate to Ash Lynx and while sometimes it would really hurt to watch this show, ultimately it would be really cathartic for him to have this way of saying "this is how I feel" without having to actually say it. He might show specific parts to Bee to explain complicated thoughts he can't verbalize without help yet and Bee would help him find a way to use that to talk about himself. Inch by inch.
I wouldn't be surprised if he showed some scenes to Neil as well. The part where Ash breaks down to Eiji and cries even though he refuses to be anything but strong almost anywhere else. He's showing this to Neil and Neil just nods and tells Andrew, "I understand. You don't have to say it." And asks if Andrew wants to put his head on Neil's shoulder. Do I think he's going to break down and cry? No, but it's enough. The way they care for each other is enough.
Other scenes I think Andrew would specifically relate to:
-When Max? I think it was? Burns the folder of pictures of Ash from when he was abused. I think for Andrew that's Neil having Proust killed. Knowing that his past can't come back to hurt him anymore, that it can't be used against him. (I think Aaron killing Drake might also resonate here but it's more about the emotional manipulation of knowing someone has EVIDENCE of the worst moments of your life)
-Andrew shows Bee the scene where Ash is being held captive and stops eating, then has that sort of shock induced manic episode where he's laughing really hard.
-Takes him a moment to speak after that, a full minute or two, but he tells Bee that's how he felt on the meds sometimes and how he felt after what happened with Drake in TRK
-Eiji getting shot. Baltimore. I think that one is pretty clear cut. I don't think he would show anyone this to explain a feeling because everyone already knows. I think he might just really you know "go through it" a little while watching it.
-Ash going to prison but not the really awful parts. I just think he would find it funny that this other blonde guy that he really relates to also went to prison. He'd send Neil a picture of Ash in a jumpsuit captioned "mood" or something
-Knife fight, Andrew is terrifyed for Ash and also finds it funny that Ash is good with knives
-That scene where Ash (post being SAed) is sitting down on the box and he's shaking really hard and screams "don't touch me," and stops shaking when Eiji holds him. I don't have a specific parallel for this necessarily, but I think about how hard Andrew was shaking after Aaron killed Drake and how the only thing he cared about was making sure Aaron was alright. I know it's not exactly the same dynamic and situation, but both of those moments feel very similar to me in the sense that this awful thing has happened, and everyone is coming off of adreniline, and the primary concern is "make sure my people are safe and not injured"
- When Yut-Lung hands Ash a gun and tells him "pull the trigger and I won't lay a finger on Eiji" and Ash doesn't even blink. When he realizes it's empty he says "No bullets? Give me a bullet." Protective of their people and don't give a shit about their own safety in the process.
-When Ash is institutionalized and tortured. I think the situation is a lot different but forced drugging? Abuse? Held against your will in a hospital? Andrew draws some uncomfortable parallels there.
-Dino falling to his death in episode 24: Andrew is watching this alone in his room, headphones on. Neil and Kevin are in the living room watching exy and the rest of the Foxes are who knows where but mostly in their dorms. Out of absolutely fucking nowhere they hear Andrew let out the most absolutely swear filled stream of "fuck you, you piece of shit, rot in fucking hell, thank FUCK get WRECKED you absolute pediculous fucking scumbag, mother fucking quisquilian bag of dicks, take that you fucking bastard..." Etc etc etc for a solid 30 seconds.
-Neil and Kevin burst in thinking Andrew's LOST IT to find him sitting at the desk half out of his chair cursing at a computer screen and flipping it off with both hands. By the time the other Foxes get there Neil and Kevin are laughing, so they all kind of just stand there awkwardly trying to figure out what's going on.
-"Andrew's watching the last episode of an anime"
-Collective sighs of relief, mild confusion, a couple of laughs.
-"Was it good?"
-"No, I hated it. Bastard's finally dead and I am celebrating." Andrew tells them.
-they all assume Andrew hated it and the protagonist died, Andrew means Dino and that he hates it because it made him feel understood (he's going to rewatch it and it's a matter of when not if)
-When they all sort of shrug and go back to whatever they were doing before, Neil breaks out into a grin and looks at Andrew. He's the only one who knows what show it is, and the only one who has any idea of who any of the characters are. "He's dead?! Fuck yeah!"
-Neil goes back to his exy game and twenty minutes later Andrew shuffles out of the room.
-"I chose to believe it was an ambiguous ending. Killing off the fucking main character who does that?"
[-Kevin looks into the camera like he's on the office, looks at Neil, then back into the camera. Looks at Andrew, then back into the camera, absolutely deadpan. Points to the chess piece on his face and holds up his bad hand.
-"We all lived, Kevin. Not ambiguous."
-Andrew mutters "Could have fooled me for a minute there. Yikes."]
-Absolutely NO ONE mentions it when Andrew starts wearing red converse instead of black ones because the first person who tried got a glare so harsh Andrew might as well have returned to his old habit of holding people at knife point.
There is so much more I can say about this, so many more scenes I think Andrew would relate to, and so many more characters that I think could have really interesting parallels to each other but I digress.
Additionally, I think if Ash and Neil ever met they would get into a fight comparing the gang/mafia related parts of their stories and would need a lot of red string and a powerpoint night to make it all make sense to each other.

I think it’s a crime that I have not seen one of mention *that* scene in tkm when Neil is in Baltimore with Nathan and Lola and that if it wasn’t for Stuart arriving at just the right moment they would have cut off Neil’s literal legs.
Obviously we all focus on the physical trauma that came from that scene, Neil’s scars, etc. but this man’s entire life was built around the foundation of 1. being able to run and 2. playing exy and I just keep thinking about the psychological trauma even just hearing those words would have caused him… you do see it a little in the moment when Neil begins to plead but it’s not addressed again.
it’s just so devastating and I can’t stop thinking about it.

Aftg x FNAF fic idea.
BACKGROUND
February, 1997- drake spear is (dishonorably) discharged from the marines.
the spear family decides to purchase a local pizza place (the upper middle class family thought it would be a good environment to raise foster kids also it’s a place where Richard can put his robotic prowess to use)
they have had two (foster kids) so far and for some reason none of them stick.
June, 1997- drake moves out of his parents house.
July, 1997- the business takes off under the spears management.
Children love the robots.
October, 1997- a child goes missing at the restaurant.
The police questioned the owners but determined none had anything to do with it.
They were wrong.
March, 1998- 12 year old Andrew Doe was placed in the care of the spears.
Two months later he meets drake (he was busy with the investigation and didn’t want to risk getting caught)
Andrew got quiet after that. (more so than usual)
The next two years are basically the same as canon for Andrew except the existence of Freddy Fazbears.
June, 2000- four children go missing at the pizzeria.
Drake tries to make Andrew watch the last one.
Andrew fights back(for the first time)
He couldn’t care less about himself but he draws the line at watching drake hurt other kids.
June, 2000- the Andrew Doe became the fifth victim of the 2000 missing children’s incident.
None of the children’s bodies are found.
Backtrack to two years earlier.
The business is loosing patronage because of the first murder.
Nathan Wesninskie, mob boss and serial killer, Nathan sees the goings down and decides to invest in the company to keep it going.
{Idk his reasoning but bare with me here}
Back in July, 2000- Nathan sends Lola and the newly caught Alex Nathaniel to clean up drakes mess.
Dead kids is not something Nathan wants to publicly be associated with.
Nathaniel tries to run.
Andrew gains a friend.
They are two enraged and vengeful souls stuck in the same vessel.(golden Freddy)
The actual story
Aarons pov. October 2000
He’s alone.
His mom is distant and neglectful.
But she’s never hurt him.(in canon she doesn’t start hurting him till after he contacts Andrew)
She’s high a lot.
She had a date with some guy and she lets him come with her. It’s at an exy game.
He likes exy.
This stranger keeps calling him Andrew and asking where he’s been.
He’s a police officer .
He has had a twin.
He steals his mom’s pills to ease the ache of what could have been.
He hates his mom for giving Andrew away. He hates the spears for letting Andrew out of their sight, he hates Officer Huggins for telling him about Andrew, most of all he hates himself for not being able to do anything to help Andrew.
His mom takes one too many pills when he’s 16, he doesn’t cry at her funeral.
He’s lucky Nicky cares.
They greave the “what if” together.
He’s 20, with a scholarship at palmetto university. He plays exy with Nicky.
He likes exy
He wonders if Andrew would have liked exy.
He’s been sober for years.
He and Matt really helped each other with their sobriety.
Kate also helps.
Every year on the date of his brothers disappearance he goes to the memorial. (There are no grave for a missing nobody, a Doe)
The spears knew but they didn’t want to think about it.
If they pretend Andrew never existed, then it never really happened, right.
Someone else is at the memorial.
Hes never really believed the spears were entirely innocent
the lady tells him about Freddy fazbears
She looks like a broken woman
(She lost her son)
Something doesn’t feel right
Over summer break he gets a job as a nighttime security guard.
His family comes with him for moral support (the foxes)
He is going to find out what happened to his brother.
And Andrew is going to fucking kill anyone who tries to hurt him or any of the other children.
(In his eyes anyone who is there at night is a threat)
Nothing good had ever happened when someone comes near him at night.
Then stuff happens and Aaron eventually finds out what happened to Andrew and he kills drake. In the end Andrew, Neil and the other kids are set free.
The sub plot would involve Andrew and Neil slowly growing to trust each other and the other dead kids forming a bond that starts to heal their mental wounds. Kinda their both still angry and vengeful ghosts who’s only purpose (in their minds) is to protect the other kids)
Andrew died fighting for them and that followed him into death and Neil ran when he saw Andrew’s corpse and although he ran for himself after death he feels unexplainably protective over Andrew.
NOT A ROMANTIC STORY FOR NEIL AND ANDREW. THEIR RELATIONSHIP IS PLATONIC BECAUSE THEY ARE FOURTEEN AND THIRTEEN AND DEAD. (They don’t need romance they need some who will stand unwavering at their side)

Hi all! I'm back with a new AFTG fic: Sink Your Teeth Into Me.
Summary: Andrew Minyard is a vampire. Turned in 1945 as he lay dying on a World War II battlefield, he has since found anonymity and an endless supply of blood on college campuses across the United States. He blends in easily among other students, who jokingly call him the 'Campus Cryptid', collects degrees like candy, and works as a bartender, drinking the blood of customers who are rude and cruel. He moves every ten years or so, always starting over on the campus of a massive university where he can exist relatively peacefully. In his 100 years of life, he has never found true friendship or love, and has never told his secrets to another person, but after Neil Josten, the school's star exy player has a panic attack behind the counter of the campus bar he works at, things start to change.
Updates every night between 6 & 8 PM EST.

Will I ever stop drawing the Twinyards as kids? Probably not, but it will hurt every time! Anyways here’s some more angst, since I know it’s been a while since I drew anything, but this has been stuck in my brain for so long and I needed to practice action lines!
Yes they have matching black eyes, yes that’s Aaron’s letter Andrew is holding, no I’m not sorry.

Neal Josten's story shows us that behind an attractive exterior can be hell. He's been jealous of Kevin and Rico his whole life because he could have been with them and been a star. But instead he hid from his father. And only now he realized that if he had stayed there, he would never have known what freedom, friendship, and love were. Because sports star Kevin Day is actually a traumatized child and Rico is a sadist. Neither of them had a good time in that place. Mary wasn't a very good mother, but thanks to her, Neil is free.
