It is literally impossible to be a woman. You are so beautiful, and so smart, and it kills me that you don’t think you’re good enough. Like, we have to always be extraordinary, but somehow we’re always doing it wrong.
You have to be thin, but not too thin. And you can never say you want to be thin. You have to say you want to be healthy, but also you have to be thin. You have to have money, but you can’t ask for money because that’s crass. You have to be a boss, but you can’t be mean. You have to lead, but you can’t squash other people’s ideas. You’re supposed to love being a mother, but don’t talk about your kids all the damn time. You have to be a career woman, but also always be looking out for other people. You have to answer for men’s bad behavior, which is insane, but if you point that out, you’re accused of complaining. You’re supposed to stay pretty for men, but not so pretty that you tempt them too much or that you threaten other women because you’re supposed to be a part of the sisterhood. But always stand out and always be grateful. But never forget that the system is rigged. So find a way to acknowledge that but also always be grateful. You have to never get old, never be rude, never show off, never be selfish, never fall down, never fail, never show fear, never get out of line. It’s too hard! It’s too contradictory and nobody gives you a medal or says thank you! And it turns out in fact that not only are you doing everything wrong, but also everything is your fault.
I’m just so tired of watching myself and every single other woman tie herself into knots so that people will like us. And if all of that is also true for a doll just representing women, then I don’t even know
-Gloria’s monologue from the Barbie movie

Never apologize for getting angry, for taking up space, for being too loud, for wanting to be able to decide about your body, for not knowing how to live when society has made it impossible for us, never apologize for being a woman in a man's world.

"I know girls who spill I'm sorry's from their mouths like they pump blood to their veins. Sometimes, I am one. I know girls who apologize for asking to go to the bathroom in class, who apologize for everything because they feel like they are taking up more than their fair share of space on this planet. Everything starts with an I'm sorry and ends with one too, constant bookends that we don't even notice anymore. We delete her apology the way we delete likes and ums from speech. I know girls with ten times more apologies than misdemeanours and I wonder how often they hear It's okay. You're more than okay."

To be a woman and feel so deeply and intensely about everything is a beautiful trait. Don’t let the world take that from you. To be able to feel emotions throughout your body, to be able to openly cry when you’re happy, sad or mad, to be able to feel the emotion you feel completely so you don’t cause trauma. To feel is to heal. To feel is to survive. You are not broken, you are living.

Sometimes being a woman entails getting a bit drunk alone on your bed, singing karaoke in a language that you can barely speak and pretending to have a deep deep voice, almost like a 62 year old man, roughly about 4 times deeper than your own.
Yes, I'm looking at you Mr. Rammstein.

When you're a girl, you have to be everything, You have to be dope at what you do, but you have to be super sweet, and you have to be sexy, and you have to be this and you have to be that and you have to be nice, and you have to - it's like, I can't be all of those things at once. I'm a human being. --Nicki Minaj

I keep hearing this a lot... "Only women bring other women down".. or.. "Women are women's biggest enemies"..
But correction.. it's *insecure women.. and don't forget *insecure men. Only insecure women & men.. feel the need to bring others down.
Please let's not generalize this based on one gender.
