Yearly reminder: do not stop taking your medications of any kind because you’re feeling better. You are feeling better because of the medicine and that’s okay! If you stop taking it you’ll feel worse again soon, so trust it to do what it needs to. If you have any other concerns ask your physician.

Nothing works anymore, drugs don’t work (escaping reality) medication doesn’t work (happy pills/sedation pills/sleep pills, therapy/venting/ranting/talking about it doesn’t help, doing happy stuff doesn’t work, no matter what I do nothing changes or feels any different.

anyone suffering from headaches or migraines, do try this playlist. i always knew about frequency music but never tried it out, and what a loss! i wish i had tried it out sooner since i suffer from headaches every day, but the music truly calmed my senses, and i feel a lot better today than i usually do. i hope it helps you too. also, please seek help from a professional, if you can. you deserve a life full of peace, not pain.
[kindly reblog and help a soul out. headaches are terrible and painful, and i hope no one has to go through them every single second of their life]

The thing that gets me about the argument of “What am i supposed to do if my anxiety/depression makes doing [x] thing impossible” is that truly not to sound unsympathetic or cruel but the whole point about that is that you have to make yourself. Like the answer they want to hear in that moment is “That’s ok and you don’t have to do it at all because of your condition and it’s ok to just wallow in the anxiety or depression and not force yourself to do hard things” and like i’m sorry but the actual answer is that you just have to do it

Why did no one tell me that the "chemical imbalance" theory has largely been disproven, that serotonin and dopamine can't cause mental illness on their own? Why have all mental health professionals been pushing this idea as fact? I've always thought the whole BPD diagnosis was bogus, just modern day hysteria slapped onto (mostly) women with complex-PTSD. Almost an official gaslight, like "your trauma wasn't traumatic enough to warrant the PTSD label so we're going to act like your brain is malfunctioning". So I'm not surprised to find all this out.
Can we finally begin a trauma-informed approach toward mainstream mental health shit? Especially mood disorders? Let's not rule chemicals and hormones out entirely, but let's acknowledge that trauma and genes have far stronger ties to mental health.

:cups your face gently:
Please go take your antidepressant. I promise it will help.
Will it take the awful away? No. But will it become more manageable? Probably, yeah. This will pass. All will be well. That is both a threat and a promise.
