Help LGBTQ Refugee Survive Camp!!

Hello! I'm Angel! And this is something my friend and moot, @starsinthenigth, told me about!

This is a fundraiser made by a guy called Judas (internet name NervesNebula), he's an American fundraising for his friend, Abdul who's currently in Gorom Refugee Settlement, because he's been the target of anti-LGBTQ+ harassment. For months, he's been relying on Judas alone, but now he needs more money than Judas is able to provide in order to pay for food and shelter. Abdul hopes to start a business so that he doesn't have to rely on me so much, but he needs money to do it!!

This is Abdul story in his own words:

" My name is Abdul and I am reaching out to you with a heavy heart, seeking your compassion, understanding, and support. I am a survivor, an advocate, and a member of the LGBTQ+ community. Today, I want to share with you my story of resilience, courage, and the desperate need for assistance.

Five years ago, I made the painful decision to flee my home country, Uganda, where my sexual orientation made me a target of persecution and discrimination. In search of a safe haven, I embarked on a journey into the unknown, leaving behind everything I held dear. Little did I know that my path would be filled with unimaginable hardships and struggles.

Since arriving in a foreign land in Kenya I faced countless challenges forcing me to flee to South Sudan. I am not just fighting for my own survival, but also for the well-being of other young individuals, especially children, who find themselves in similar circumstances. The weight of responsibility on my shoulders is immense, as I strive to provide them with a glimmer of hope and a chance for a better future.

As I stand before you today, I am compelled to admit that the road has been so hard. I find myself in a very bad state . Basic necessities like food, shelter, and medical care have become luxuries I can no longer afford. Hunger has become my constant companion, and the nights spent in the cold have taken a toll on my health and spirit.

Despite these overwhelming challenges, my determination remains unyielding. I refuse to let despair define my journey. I believe that within every heart, there lies a reservoir of kindness and empathy. It is this belief that gives me the strength to reach out to you, to share my story, and to ask for your support in my fight for survival.

The funds raised through this GoFundMe campaign will be used to address our most immediate needs. They will enable me to secure safe, stable housing, ensuring that the children under my care have a roof over their heads. They will provide nourishing meals, clean water, and access to healthcare, allowing us to regain our strength and vitality. Additionally, these funds will help us create sustainable livelihood opportunities, empowering us to break free from the cycle of poverty and build a brighter future.

For my money, the worst thing Somerton's ever done was in his response to that one person on twitter who pointed out his plagiarism on Evil Queens and was about to expose it on his other videos

He claimed that this person who was politely pointing out that he'd ripped people off was sending him death threats and trying to find his home address. What else was this supposed to do that incite his fans to violently harass that person? Honest question, what else could possibly be the reason to lie in that specific way?

I know hbomberguy didn't dwell on it too long because he was asked to reference them as little as possible, but beyond the plagiarism, the setting up Nick as a fall guy, the burying of other queer creators, that specific event is probably the most damningly irredeemable thing he's done so far.

Whenever he posts something new, it'll be the first thing I think of; that he's a liar and a thief willing to send unconscionable amounts of harassment to innocent people.

why fiction DOES affect reality - a really bad rant by a bored anti radqueer

so radqueers and proshippers keep saying this and i need to state why its not true

im using proship as a catch all term, so it includes darkshipping proshipping comshipping etc

first of all, influence. we can experience emotions in reality due to fiction, and fiction can change our opinions. for example, spreading awareness in the form of fiction. that affects reality!!! i constantly think of "ohhh these people on the internet are awful" "ohhh im gonna say this if someone on the internet says this to me" "ohhh i hate that piece of media" now, is the internet fiction? is media fiction? yes! do those thoughts affect reality? yes!

now also, really just about proshippers here. shipping illegal ships, especially publicly, normalizes those dynamics. its not normal for an adult to love a child. its not normal for someone to hurt the person theyre in love with. proshipping normalizes these things.

using proshipping as a coping mechanism isnt healthy whatsoever, especially if youre sharing it online. putting pedophila, s/a, etc in a positive light isnt really good at all. to put a character in that situation, but keeping it as in "i just want a character to relate to, im not putting this in a positive light whatsoever" id say is okay.

By the way (because a post keeps popping up and annoying me) people are allowed to identify with queer labels for trauma related reasons. People are allowed to say their asexual or Aromantic because of past trauma that has made them sex/romance repulsed or sex/romance unfavorable.

People are allowed to be lesbian because they have trauma from men and can only feel safe with women. People are allowed to be gay because they have trauma from women and can only feel safe with men.

People are allowed to be transgender for any reason because of past trauma that has given them dysphoria that they can only fix through transgender surgeries or presentation.

TRAUMA CAN AFFECT A PERSONS GENDER AND SEXUALITY, AND THAT IS NOT BAD.

Hey guys! I need to talk about this for a moment. I came across a post recently calling for people to spam TERF and radfem tags so they can become 'unusable'. And, while I hate terfs as much as you guys do, let me explain why spamming TERF tags is NOT a good idea, actually! Firstly, spamming tags is an easy way to get banned. And secondly, this can very easily cross into harassment territory towards both parties, but especially trans folks. In fact, you could argue that this is just going to cause MORE harm to trans people than good. Hell, one person already got harassed after they commented on the post. And while the post itself calls for people to spam the tags with 'positivity', movements like this always goes south, and you know damn well people are going to take this as a chance to spam vile shit. Not to mention, there's a high possibility that the TERFs are going to retaliate and... i'll let you put two and two together. So instead of partaking in a movement that's doing more harm than good, you can do these alternative actions: -Donate to trans people (mutual aid)

-Support and uplift your trans friends -Educate people on gender identity. Who knows? Maybe you'll even change a TERF's mind! -Call out your friends whenever they say anything transphobic (And if they continue, drop them entirely) -Share resources for trans mental health! Basically... uplifting and supporting trans people directly will be MORE effective than invading a bigot's territory.

*In regard to the Gaza/Palestine situation, I’m literally unable to financially support those in need. Yes, the issue is very serious but I’m also extremely wary of scammers taking advantage of the situation since some GoFundMe or donation pages seem rather vague instead of giving more details on this site or anywhere else online. So I’m not obligated to reblog or spread the messages in case the user turns out to be a scammer. And some posts didn’t give trigger warnings or censoring of those who were injured or affected by biological warfare.

I am typically neutral to most things in fiction, Unless the creators, canon and even the fandom are truly toxic and problematic. The worse canon is written the worse their community is obviously going to behave. While there are technically bad apples in every fandom, some are way worse than the others so I block and filter out as much as I can for my own sanity. Yes, that includes blogs who still support badly written canon content.

As much as I try to filter the things I hate out, somehow some twits don’t tag properly. Some of y’all weren’t specific enough not just being irresponsible idiots. Had to block a shit ton of these content mentioned below not just ppl slipping past tags.

Blank blogs without any posts or reblogs, I’m counting those with likes consisting of things I dislike to hate mentioned below:

AI images/artists. At first I didn’t think much of it but it clutters many sites with all these different tags if #ai art isn’t used! Not only does it have delusional fake artists and their audience who thinks it’s fine, it’s especially bad news for inactive or even deceased online users. Like, it’s unethical and most sharp eyed users see how flawed the “art” is. That makes plenty of mediocre human drawn art look good because they usually aren’t that blurry or has the machine made flaws. The AI Generated art is often uncredited which can confuse people. Oh god, I hate the realistic/real life ones the most because what if that’s used without that person’s consent? What if that’s used to make an innocent person look bad?

“Artists” who raceswap human characters instead of creating their own OCs or their OCs cosplaying as canon characters. Oh so if it’s whitewashing it’s automatically a crime? Not trying to accuse anybody but it’s just lazy ass editing on canon characters, not just other artists’ works. So just knock it off bc y’all look like fools instead of genuinely progressive people.

Character Hatedoms/Bashing/Assassinations. Those who do hate characters for legitimate reasons are usually more civilized. But those who hate them for very minor or petty reasons deserve to get the side eye lol.

Heterophobic/Homophobic ppl. I legit don’t understand the intense hate from both sides, y’all just have different labels and sexualities/preferences that are already seen as socially acceptable and legal by a good portion of the world. But there are vile ppl who use their gender and/or sexuality as a shield which is unacceptable!

Nostalgia fandom. Sheesh, these people need to try something new it’s like they are literally stuck in time, bitching about new things and going as far as to dislike or negative review bomb things not from their childhood time. Especially a portion of the western cartoon fandom. Yes, it’s usually those guys making a fuss about their favorite stuff being forever canonically discontinued. Well, there’s the fan works to create and consume! Wherever I am, I rarely hear the eastern anime fandom fussing about the “good old times”. But the downside to the nostalgia are lonely feelings when several others have moved on and a shitty attitude towards a lot of things not aligned with your own tastes.

Fictional content that turns inanimate places and countries into anthropomorphic figures. Weird ASF… aren’t anthro animals enough? At least most of those artists are actually chill.

Reality Shifters/Otherkin. Weird ass content… suddenly fictional drawn OCs and reader fics look like stellar content that’s much more preferable! It’s kinda weird that irl ppl insert themselves into fictional stories instead of creating OCs or just using/ultilizing canon characters… guess the latter isn’t enough for them.

Age Regression/Age Play blogs. This type of content is kinda weird… it’s annoying and unnerving that teen/adult characters, furries or even real people behave like little children to cope or smth. I think slapping baby stuff into characters is stupid especially if they’re already mature. I don’t care if it’s also SFW, y’all are still getting the side eye for using baby/childish talk. And turning mentally mature characters of any age into that kind of behavior is just kinda disturbing.

Vivziepop Stans. I used to like her art but the plot of Helluva Boss portraying the main toxic romantic relationship as “good LGBT rep” is uncomfortable… the same ppl can criticize Val/Angel aka MothDust or even other same sex ships but defend Stolitz? All bc it’s gay men screwing each other? I’m glad that critics point out the similarities because aren’t they both technically abusive relationships? Toxic relationships are toxic regardless of their sexualities and how it’s written! I mean there’s a mountain of evidence of her many misdeeds and even abuse of her power! Also, she, her associates, and even fans had the audacity to diss other indie animation projects!

Miraculous Ladybug. Uncanny 3D graphics, especially the salters and the maribat shippers ruining practically everything they touch.

My Little Pony franchise. Oh lord the damn fandom and fanarts won’t stop plaguing my feeds no matter how much I filter out…

Rabid proshippers. I hate the ones that take things too far like the big age gap (a decade to more apart &/or when one is old enough to be the minor’s parental figure. Though I can accept adult couples with said age gaps.)

Prepubescent children and younger x adult (yes I’m also counting l0lish0 of the canon aged kids and even aged down characters, like that kind of shit is going way too far. And that includes real and fictional “couples” from ancient/past times). For the couples of teens X young-ish adults, I could kinda let slide of it took place in the early 1900s and before due to leniency and such. But in the mid 1900s to the current years or even the future? Nah, dude.

And incest (blood related, bond, stepfamily, adoptive or foster it’s still fucking unnerving… I mean aren’t they raised together as such even if their time together wasn’t that long? I recall some artists being specifically against blood incest but are actually fine with the other types mentioned before? I find that fucked up.)

Though I understand why people give some of them the side eye due to probably not tagging correctly and boundary disrespecting the ppl who use DNIs for good reasons bc the latter most likely have reasons why they hate or don’t like certain things. I mean just leave the DNI folks be, otherwise some would get very pissy and paranoid that your kind is following them or they might start a sob fest over a follow. Most people are just here for content not start petty shit.

Rabid antishippers. I used to have a similar mentality as a teenager but such a puritan approach wasn’t good for my sanity. I understand how y’all feel about certain types of content but blocks and filters exist here and several other sites that have these functions. So use them! Spreading misinformation, doxxing and harassment are unacceptable!

*Both sides of the shipping discourse have bad apples and rabid dogs crossing lines so I steer clear from them and their petty discourse whenever I’m surfing this site. Hence why I decided to stay mostly neutral in fictional matters from now on like a spectator. Funnily enough, it’s usually the antis starting shit and even being killjoys on actual harmless ships. Not just sending actual threats and making up violent scenarios on wishing to kill proshippers if you check out the harassment tags and such here. Although there is the occasional proshipper who acts like an abuse apologist and/or defends the awful character that clearly doesn’t deserve it one bit... Ngl, “anti anti” sounds real goofy so just say proship or smth like that…

If anyone can’t separate fiction from reality and stay on their online turf yet continue to intrude on others who actually did nothing wrong like making false accusations without any hard evidence… Please think twice before saying shit on their stuff unless it’s constructive criticism they’ve asked for. But please don’t consume too much fictional content otherwise the lines between fiction and reality will blur… Even if you’re an enthusiastic fan of something, please remember to take breaks from online and go outside. There are huge differences between speaking opinions, constructive criticism, inciting harassment and spreading misinformation. I mean look at the screenshotted evidence here by civilized ppl. 🧩🥀 (former anti)

Fetish artists/blogs. We can blame deviantart for this phenomenon. Should I even put them in the same category as kink blogs? The kink blogs at least give out warnings and tags.

RL crime/criminal apologists and hybristophiliacs. These guys really make the proshippers and fictional villain/antagonist character stans look like angels bc at least the latter will less likely simp for IRL criminals and actually know what’s fictional. Hey antis and so-called moral guardians, why don’t y’all try to blacklist them and give out PSAs of those bozos instead of harassing those who give out proper warning labels and only write dark “sus” fiction?
