I do not and will never have the ambition to rewatch Eternals ever but I do want to know if anybody got the vibes watching that movie that Sprite was in love with Ikaris. like was that there? were we supposed to see it? did anyone realize before Kingo pointed it out that she had a thing for him, or was this just the Eternals writers and directors doing a wonderful example of "tell, don't show"?

Quite honestly, that Eternals rumor that was floated in with the fake leaks on Reddit today is the worst one yet.

Celestials vs. Galactus? So we're supposed to be on the side of the alien assholes who wanted to destroy Earth against....uh, a bigger alien asshole? And it's all going to be Eternals floating around in space touting their superior morality with literally nothing to ground them? Uh, who asked for this?

We don't need to be lectured again by the vacuum of charisma that was the leads for this project. Hard pass. And of course Dane Whitman is screwed over to glorify the space robots once more, because he won't even be as good as their genetically superior (but often mind numbingly boring, unless it's Druig and Makkari) selves again.

I hate it when xtians reduce my religious trauma to "a religious person said something mean to you once so now you're mad at religion".

Like, shut the fuck up. My trauma isn't just someone being a little rude to me once, it was systematic, deliberate manipulation with the threat of possible eternity of suffering in Hell if I didn't obey religious rules and "keep Christ in my heart". It was "Nonbelievers burn in a lake of eternal fire. Tell your friends to convert to our faith or they'll be damned for eternity".

I have suffered from anxiety, ocd and other mental health issues for several fucking years because of this shit. I've suppressed my sexuality and felt terrible guilt just for the 'sin' of having sexual thoughts. I've feared for my loved one's souls, genuinely believing they would go to Hell for simply not being xtians and that I'd never see them again in the afterlife.

These beliefs are sick and twisted. What I went through was sick and twisted.

I seriously don't know what to say to you if you still think telling anyone, let alone a child, that they're going to be damned for eternity if they disobey 'God's word' is totally fine and not abusive.

Know your fucking place and stop speaking over trauma survivors who have been hurt by your shitty religion.

It really is a singular leap of logic for OG Eternals/Marvel fans to claim that Richard Madden and Don Lee (Ikaris and Gilgamesh respectively) could only have been slated to appear in Blade this summer because there were no other Marvel productions filming and this is the only production they could have been involved in.

First of all, the evidence is flimsy. The first report was from a Korean-language entertainment website that claimed that Don was doing something for Marvel this summer. This something could have been a voice job, a movie, or a TV show, but fans jumped IMMEDIATELY to assuming it was Blade. I'm not sure of the veracity of the source, but it seems interesting that no Western media or scooper picked this up.

Moving on. The Cosmic Circus, a semi-reliable Marvel scooper, announced that the twin sister of a stunt double who had previously doubled for Richard Madden on Eternals and Citadel (but had also doubled for Marvel actor Wyatt Russell in other projects) had implied on Tik Tok that her brother was going to be working for the MCU again soon. The Cosmic Circus stated that she (again, a relative of a stunt performer on Tik Tok....three degrees of separation already) HAD to be talking about Madden based on....well, nothing, really and there were no other options. Wyatt Russell isn't going to be in any upcoming Marvel productions, is he? And stans insisted this meant Ikaris HAD to be in Blade. There were no other options.

The Cosmic Circus article came out in April 2022. In June, it was announced that a Thunderbolts movie was in production, and in September the movie was formally announced with Wyatt Russell being part of the cast. Production starts early next year. It seems obvious that the stunt double would likely be working with Russell.

Blade was scheduled to start filming in July. Then it was August. Then it was September. Then October. Then November. Until it was announced that the director dropped out, star Marshalala Ali didn't like the changes made to the script, and they were starting completely over. Allegedly the movie was a period piece that largely took place in the 1920s and involved Blade training a young girl to replace him. I suspect Ali wasn't crazy about being written out of the first movie he was in.

So what other productions could Madden and Lee appeared in if they had to film a Marvel appearance this summer?

Hmm. Seems there were a lot of productions they could have possibly appeared in. Are y'all sure they could have ONLY appeared in the one movie that was scheduled to film but never did instead of the production that should have featured their Eternals cast member Kit Harington but we're not sure ever did?

Seems to me that it was all basically hogwash and Eternals fans jumped on the bandwagon to once again prove that their Eternals characters are superior and would be supplanting the one the movie the non-Eternals cast member was rumored to appear in because you know you always thought your very special genetically superior Eternals characters should be there instead of him, even though they were the ones who tanked the movie, especially the leads, who were repeatedly referred to as the main problem.

I don't even care if Kit is in that movie anymore, but I'm done with agenda of OG Eternals fans, who are currently now rhapsodizing about the moral superiority of Arishem and can't wait for the Eternals to invade Earth and kill everyone else.

Still working on my eng/jpn comparison for Witch Hat Kitchen volume 2 and I can't believe it, but there's an actual orufrey win for the English translation here.

So, Chapter 20 is this adorable, "Qifrey and Coco go to the market to pick up lunch and end up with a bunch of free food because Coco is adorable and everyone loves her" type of story, which is very sweet.

And on the final page, Olruggio comments that it looks like going shopping with Coco has its benefits! And in the Japanese version Qifrey basically says yeah just look at that smile. But the English version...! Goes even farther and says:

"Indeed... But then, whose heart wouldn't melt seeing that smile?"

And then it cuts to Coco and her adorable smile, and it's like yeah! Absolutely! but then.... BUT THEN!

It cuts to Qifrey being super excited about their lesson continuing after lunch AND OLRUGGIO IS LOOKING AT HIM!!

Like student, like teacher, and WHOSE HEART WOULDN'T MELT SEEING THAT SMILE!

I don’t bother discussing or defending the cabin years because I simply do not believe they justify any of Nesta’s treatment. Even if I went as far as to call Nesta abusive, I don’t know why I’m supposed to care about stuff that barely happens on page seeing as Feyre, Rhys, and Cassian are all far more abusive to her than she ever is during the actual events of the story.
