Mira was curled up on the couch, hoodie sleeves pulled over her hands, trying to focus on the movie playing in front of her. She might have been enjoying it, if she wasn’t so aware of the two idiots loitering near the kitchen doorway, whispering way too loudly to be subtle.

She didn’t look up. “Are you guys seriously staring at me again?”

“Not staring,” Romance said, stepping into the room. “Admiring.”

Mira sighed, eyes still on the screen. “There’s a difference?”

“Definitely,” Abby said, appearing on her other side. “Staring is creepy. Admiring is romantic.”

She rolled her eyes. “You’re both ridiculous.”

Romance flopped onto the couch next to her, his arm instantly slung across the backrest—close enough to be felt, not quite close enough to push off. Abby dropped down on her other side, even more comfortable, legs stretched out in front of him as if he lived there.

“You just have a really cozy vibe,” Abby said, bumping her shoulder lightly.

“And an incredibly kissable face,” Romance added, not missing a beat.

Mira groaned. “You’re both dating each other.”

“We are ,” Romance agreed, nodding solemnly.

“But also,” Abby said, leaning in a little, “we’re just saying—you’re very pretty.”

“It’s a compliment,” Romance added. “We give those. To people we love. Who we would not be opposed to... hypothetically dating.”

Mira blinked. “So this is a joke?”

“Do you want it to be?” Abby asked, entirely too serious for her comfort.

Romance smirked. “We’re mostly joking.”

Mira narrowed her eyes. “Mostly?”

There was a beat of silence. Abby grinned. Romance looked a little too pleased with himself.

“I hate both of you,” she muttered, grabbing a throw pillow and hugging it to her chest like a shield.

“And yet,” Abby said cheerfully, “you haven’t moved.”

“She never does,” Romance said softly, looking at her with that stupid warm expression that made Mira feel like she was the only person in the room.

She shoved her face into the pillow. “You guys are the worst.”

From behind the fluff, she heard them laugh.

“So…” she mumbled, voice muffled, “are you trying to recruit me or something?”

“We prefer the term ‘extend an invitation,’” Abby said.

“To what? The weirdest throuple in existence?” she deadpanned.

Romance leaned closer. “We’d be so good to you.”

Mira’s face turned bright red. She jumped up. “I’m getting coffee. And space. Lots of it.”

As she bolted from the room, Abby looked at Romance.

“She didn’t say no.”

Romance grinned. “Not even close.”

it's been like two weeks since i finished watching kinnporsche and i have not been able to stop thinking about vegaspete. i swear it's like they were designed in a lab to appeal to me specifically. literally one of the most compelling fictional relationships i've seen in a long time and they managed to fit all of that into maybe two hours of total screen time. they're not even the main couple and yet they've completely overshadowed everything else about the show for me. unreal. still can't believe i wasn't hallucinating all of that. i'll be riding this high for the rest of the year.

How out of the closet are the characters in LITA? Like does everyone at the office know that Payu and Rain are boyfriends/fiances. Do their families know? Rain didn't realize he was into men at the start so did he have a coming out to his parents? They seem like a couple that don't care and flaunt it publicly or is that just around friends?

Oh, this is a GOOD question, because you find most of the answers in the special novel (which I know is extremely hard to find, and if you CAN find it, you get a machine translated pile of gibberish, so I'm very happy to answer questions about it!!!!!)

I'm also going to add a bit in below each couple that I think you'll enjoy hearing.

Payu:

Not in the closet in the least. He isn't walking around like, "Hi, I'm bisexual", but if someone asks, he'll say it. He has sex with Rain and the NEXT MORNING, while Rain is still asleep, he calls his momma to tell her he has a new boyfriend he's very serious about.

Rain:

Not... not in the closet. Rain is comfortable with Payu, his classmates know he is Payu's boyfriend, and while Rain does kind of struggle with his sexuality as he is discovering his attraction to Payu... He's not worried about what his classmates will think.

Something you don't see in the show- Sig is loudly and proudly gay. He wants the world to know it. So Rain isn't scared of his classmates finding out because *waves hand at Sig*. As for his parents... don't ask don't tell. He isn't exactly hiding Payu from them, but he also isn't telling them he's dating Payu.

Payu Towards Rain's Somewhat-Closeted Nature:

Payu supports Rain in any decision. He knows Rain isn't ready to tell his family, so he plays the role of the supportive tutor whenever he's around Rain's parents. When they run into Sky at the movies, Payu is prepared to follow Rain's lead and say they happened to run into each other. He's actually stunned and delighted when Rain comes out to Sky.

The only time Payu pushes Rain is the day of his college graduation, after they've been together for four years (it is a 5 year program). Payu gets his hair cut (imagine Cirrus), decks himself out in a fitted suit, and brings a big bouquet of roses.

He intends to propose to Rain in front of his parents, and honestly, you learn from Rain's POV that he's kind of... realized he's stuck in place when it comes to his parents. He isn't sure how to tell them, so he is grateful to Payu for doing this and kind of taking control of that.

... and then you find out that Rain's parents have known basically from the start and were planning on having a chat with both boys that night like "C'mon, the closet has no door, get out here."

Prapai:

Prapai doesn't know what a closet IS. Aphros is gay (he says in the novel that he was always incapable of loving June, but hoped they could at least be amicable).

Prapai is a loud and proud bisexual, and he has never questioned that. Man likes nipples. If a person has nipples for him to play with, he's a happy camper.

His entire family is supportive, and would never for a second ask Prapai or his siblings to ever spend a second hiding their sexuality. All of them are out, all of them are proud, all of them are beloved by their parents and supported in everything they do (but not everyONE CAN SOMEONE PLEASE LOCK DOWN THE WHORE CHILDREN FOR THE SAKE OF ORN'S NERVES???).

Sky:

Sky is fairly closeted, but again, it's more towards his family. He doesn't tell anyone at university his sexuality, he actually exists fairly asexually to them all. And no one bothers him about that.

Once Prapai enters the scene, again, no one is questioning Sky like "Wait you're gay" (beyond, I think Sig makes a comment because he would have made a move on Sky if he knew). They're taunting Sky about having a hot boyfriend who is obsessed with him, but that is all.

Again, my man Sig, he was out loud and proud about his sexuality and that REALLY created the safe space for Rain and Sky where they didn't feel like they should be embarrassed or shy. And he does that intentionally. Sig is goofy and weird just like in the show, but alongside it, he is fiercely loyal to his friends and only supports them.

Now, Sky's father... Sky has kept his sexuality secret from his parents. He doesn't really have an opinion on if they'd support him or not, but he also doesn't want to find out. His mother is abroad and he barely speaks to her, but he loves his father. I think for Sky it is another case of "don't ask, don't tell". His dad doesn't need to know, and he isn't bringing any men home, so they don't need to talk about it.

When he was in Uni, he hid Gun's existence from his dad, but mainly because of the age gap, and then the abuse.

Prapai Towards Sky's Somewhat-Closeted Nature:

He's confused as to why anyone would care what Sky's sexuality is, or how that could make anyone dislike someone, but he understands that it's Sky's business.

Prapai will outright pursue Sky at school, but he isn't telling people Sky is interested. He isn't putting the weight of it on Sky, and isn't yelling "HEY WE SLEPT TOGETHER". He keeps the focus on his own feelings, which gives Sky the space to be like "Oh I'm not interested in men IDK what he's doing" (Sky never does this, but he could have).

A month or so after Gun re-victimizes Sky, Sky does take Prapai home to meet his father. He's nervous, he really doesn't know how his dad will take it. But Prapai cranks the charm to 11.

And just like with Rain's parents.... Sky's dad already knew. He's known since Sky was in high school. He knew... something happened in Bangkok. He just never knew (and never will know) the full scope of it.

You kind of get the impression he thought Sky was assaulted by a guy, not that it was a man Sky had been seeing who was abusing him. But either way, he knew Sky was gay. He was waiting for Sky to tell him.

When Sky introduces Prapai to his father as his boyfriend, his father only shakes Prapai's hand and asks him to always take good care of his son.
