I got ordained online a decade ago on a lark. No real reason, just wanted to do it.

Today I'm marrying my brother in law's dad and stepmom two weeks after I married him to my baby sister. I've done Christian and atheist ceremonies for friends and family. I married my best friend of over 20 years, a woman my spouse and I share our oldest child with, to a pretty awesome guy who loves them both.

I got to preform an entirely custom hand fasting ritual for my brother and his wife in front of both families - it was so very pagan and my heart was so full.

I keep getting asked to marry people, and I know its mostly because "free fiddy" is much cheaper than hiring a traditionally ordained minister. Some of them just didnt want to bring someone else's God into it. Some just needed it done quickly for their own reasons. I love doing it, though. It brings me joy to help people come together like that.

We all know it's just a piece of paper filed away with the government. All of them know I didn't study to be able to do this. In the years I've been doing this though, I've made so many people happy, I've customized so many ceremonies, I've spoke in front of intimate groups and a couple large ones (something I never thought myself capable of.)

Today, I'm marrying a couple I have only met once, two weeks ago, but I've heard so much about them and I'm so excited for them to finally do this. These people helped make the man my baby sister adores, and I get to help bring them happiness.

All because I got a wild hair ten years ago to see what it would take to be able to legally marry people.

Relativity Falls but at the end of the summer Stan learns the very important lesson of not being “selfish” and returns to New Jersey alone.

Through the years the excuses as to why Stan can’t come visit pile up. He broke his leg, caught the flu, has a summer job, broke a vase in the shop and is under house arrest etc etc.

Ford eventually gets fed up with all the excuses and stops calling home. Stan obviously doesn’t want to see him anymore now that he got other friends with his freak of a brother out of the picture.

3 years pass and the police are standing in front of the Shack.

Filbrick Pines is dead and Stan is nowhere to be found.

[or alternatively the police brought Stan to live with them now that Filbrick died, but Stan is almost unrecognizable from the boy who left three years ago. He's polite and keeps to himself, but there's a rage just beneath the surface that makes others question if there is more to Filbricks death than meets the eye.]

And it's not helping his crippling self worth #issues when Mabel tries to talk to him about how she used to be quite selfish as well. And about what Stan can do to be better.#Trust them. Mabel and Dipper have been through the same thing. They’ll help so history won’t repeat itself.#Stan returns to parents in the middle of a divorce. Caryn leaves withShermie and Stan has to stay behind with Filbrick. It doesn’t go well.#Filbrick won't let Stan have his own phone or pc. All calls are supervised and Stan cant visit Ford when he can earn his keep instead. #Stans too scared to bother Ford and reach out to him because that would be selfish. And he can’t lose his brother more than he already has.#Dipper and Mabel really messed up that one. They wanted the twins to be less codependent and not do the same mistakes they did #and didn’t realise they only helped one kid :’).This isn't meant to be character bashing or even commentary on canon Mabel.#Just a little excuse for more stangst XD I also like to think they don't have the same story as the Stans in this AU.#They're different people with different parents and different dreams.#No way it would end the same way. current fallen london fandom experience feels like im standing at the corner of a party holding a sippy cup going. i thought firmament has been pretty fun and intriguing so far

just started watching earthspark - im gonna throw up from how endearing megatron finds optimus. why are they so cute. ITS ONLY EP 1&2???
