So, I have been wanting to do this idea for a while now. Hell, I’ve already gotten started on drawing a little piece (that is slow-going because LAWD Optimus is hard, especially when you never drew his other versions). And it’s MegOp related.

All the OPs who were once lovers to their Megatrons meet up and pretty much chat, hang out, console each other over their exes.

And eventually, they welcome a new member (TFOne) to the club. TFOne Op just went through the breakup/divorce and is getting comforted by the other OPs.

When I first watched earthspark more than a year ago, I thought I was imagining it when Megatron and Optimus would talk like a married couple BUT NO THEY FR DO esp with the "get a new grudge", the "Maybe you're just learning to appreciate mine more", the "With pleasure!" and the "consider me impressed" my god. They're also both fittingly smoking hot because theyre such fags

just started watching earthspark - im gonna throw up from how endearing megatron finds optimus. why are they so cute. ITS ONLY EP 1&2???

like the "oh don't be so hard on him, optimus just does what he truly believes is right" and "haha his robot emoji always gets me" and when optimus is like roll out! megatron is still smilin and shit and is like "i can never tell if he means me <3"

So i finished TFE and Megatron being an autobot was one of my favourite things. OP and Megs are a power couple when they get along, ship-wise or no. I do ship them, but I also respect and adore the bond they have. I freaking loved the Earthspark series bc of many reasons (one being the representation of nonbinary stuff), but one of the main reasons being the interesting twist of Megs being a good guy. I know, he's autobot in IDW comics and Megs isnt always the baddest guy, but this series was a banger. I hope we get more episodes!

Also, as someone who adores the Generation 1, (it was a part of my childhood too), I loved all the references to G1. Earthspark is like an AU of the G1, and I loved that too!

I'm more than intrigued, I'm fucking obsessed. Probably one of the only continuities where I believe they can recover from their divorce (shoutout to Megatron for going to therapy <3) and be healthier for it, so they're ex-fated enemies. Doomed by the narrative but they pushed all that into their backstory and are defying fate. They also visibly bring out the best in each other and temper each other's weaknesses?!?!?! HOUUUGGGHHHH like look, I enjoy a nice steaming cup of toxic MegOP radiation as the next guy, but I can write/read these two kissing the other's temple in passing and making handmade cards and it's completely in-character. Fucking Peepawcore nerds. That's why I didn't circle "the inherent eroticism of attempted murder" because they don't want to kill each other and killing others just makes them sad. Also I would say they're both cautiously dating AND comfortably married.
